We know Judy meant "THANKS", Steve and I, too am grateful ! Thanks for the call over, JUDY !!!

Just came back for a minute after reading this comment on Yahoo news.

So sad ! LOLLY we are praying for rain ! And, can't we all agree with Ms. Maxfield ? We know, 1st hand !

And by the way, I am a Tuesday's child. Not sure about being full of grace. I am full of it, but not sure if it could be called grace! :)

Update from Lori

8:57 am

GREAT NEWS! Mom is up sitting in a chair. They have taken all the tubes out except IV, and will move her out of ICU today! Praise God! I think the nurses are much nicer on the less intense lower floors - LOL After how she looked after surgery this is incredible news.

paula eagleholic said...

Sharon, glad Mattie is feeling better!

Jo, enjoy the day with your daughter!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTIE!!

Hey Tbird, how are ya? Are you gals done painting yet???

DanaMo said...

Wonderful news Lori! So happy for you and your family!

Lolly said...

roflmbo Sharon! Not full of grace, huh?

So glad everything is going well for Lori's mom. An answer to prayer.

Now lets do serious praying for rain for TEXAS! On the Natl. news last night about how our lakes are dropping fast. Jack and I just went to church to water. My Lantana is tough and doing well, but the shrubs and Crape Myrtles are withering away.

Lolly said...

Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

Poor Jack...he is full of woe, but as for me well, I am bonny and blithe, and good and gay. LOL

DanaMo said...

WOW just started pouring in Hagestown, but not at the nest!

hedgie said...

Well, drat...missed the new thread. Will bring over my posts.

hedgie said...

Thanks for Lori's update, Paula. Very encouraging!!

Lynne1--too bad about the crowns....don't blame you for putting it off as long as possible-- for several reasons!

Jim, so sorry....:( Good luck! Puters---grrrr!!!

Jo, if you click on Send Christie a Message on right upper side of her page, you should be able to post a greeting to her. It just will be in her messages rather than on her wall. Thanks for sending birthday wishes for her!
Hoda sure DOES have a busy schedule!!

Judie....garage has been power-washed. House windows a nd doors are covered. Tarp on deck. They left----assuming going to lunch!
They will power-wash the house yet today. Then I THINK strip off the old stain tomorrow. Then let it dry for 1-2 days and then apply the stain tretment to house and garage, and then paint fascias. So MAYBE it will be all done Sat. or early next week if there is any weather interference.

Jim, yes the BWO kids are chicks no longer!!! They are a bit ahead of the Finnish nests!

hedgie said...

So very sad for the fawns in Tx, along with all wildlife, people and crops.

hedgie said...

ROFL, Sharon! You have grace....but like me, and some of the rest of us, we aren't graceFUL! If we were, we wouldn't have these crazy falls and such, right??!!

hedgie said...

No rain here, either DanaMo.

Love that poem, Lolly. It is in my birthday book, and my grandma always recited it. Speaking of which....I've had my b-day book since I was 12 yrs. old! It is a lovely book. Some names in there that I don;t even recognize anymore...and some crossed out because I have lost them.... :(

hedgie said...

I was a Monday child---gee, whatever happened??!!

NatureNut said...

Sneaking on by way of secret bypass!!!! SHH
Had to check on Lori's Mom. Sounds really good!!! Prayers continue for her and family and for TX rain & all other drought places.
We MAY get storms this afternoon. Will be spotty, so that means we don't know where or when! DUH
Lynn, sounds like a long week of work--but will be all done!
Good to see Sharon--hope Mattie is well.
Bye....(you didn't see me!)
P.S. Osprey cams not online, but we can get 1st nest on TV. Mostly MT, but a couple juvies come & go..

NatureNut said...

I was TU child, got rowdy, not grace ☺ LOL

hedgie said...

Shuttle landing is set for 5:56Am Eastern time. De-orbit track NOT over Texas, Looly---sorry, so you won't see that either. :( Actually only part of US is FL. It's track is over southern Central and northern South America, judging by NASA's small map!

stronghunter said...

I was a Monday child, too. Yeah, what happened?

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone!

Thanks for the new thread, Steve, and thanks for the call over, JudyE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHRISTIE! Hope you have a FANTASTIC day!

Well, I need to make this fairly quick, because my neck is beginning to complain again. Have read back, and see that Lori's Mom is sitting up in a chair! What fantastic news! It's amazing that she's doing so well!
Thank God! Lori, couldn't be happier for you and your family! ((HUGS))!!

Lynn, saying some prayers that the weather will cooperate with the guys working on your abode! Did you take any "before" pictures? Can't wait to see pics of the finished product! Hope Liesl has calmed down some, and that the Tylenol is working. That reminds me--I need to take some more of that! Need to get back to work on transcription, too. Will be in "lurk mode" for the rest of the day.

Sharon, CONGRATULATIONS on the 7-pound weight loss!! Hoping those pounds haven't found me! You go, girl!
Glad that Mattie feels good, and hoping for a good Dr. report!

Jim, my Adobe did an upgrade, and now I am randomly getting those wacky "Error 815" messages about no broadband connection again! Aargh!
It will eventually connect, but what a pain! You definitely have my sympathy! Hang in there! Prayers!

Well, back to work for me. Later, alligators! HAGD!!! :o]

paula eagleholic said...

That link has a slightly different version for Sunday...

But the child born on the Sabbath Day,
Is fair and wise and good in every way.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

So Sunday's child was not gay after all? :)

stronghunter said...

Guess they had to update the meaning of that once delightful little word.

Mema Jo said...

That is neat Paula - I was a Thursday

Thurs child has Far to Go...... lol

Mema Jo said...

test Dog days of summer....

This is Marvin

Mema Jo said...

BBL Feet up time

paula eagleholic said...

LOL poor Marvin...

hedgie said...

Sh-h-h Loretta---we'll never tell!!

Had a few messes to clean up. Big leak in kitchen, over the counter on both side of sink, and in bathroom. Worst part is that a new roll of paper towels got soaked! Guess they'll dry out eventually---good enough for basement jobs! Luckily all okay in bedroom, and on one side of office. They haven't done the longest side of it yet. Living room looks safe on one wall. One and a half of them still to go.

hedgie said...

LOL, Jo----Marvin has feet up right along with you! He looks like he's cooling off!

Andy, headache better but not gone. Liesl is back in her crate. We had a break while they were at lunch. The power washer isn't bothering her, but the scrub brooms hitting against I guess the log ends--thump, thump--is what sets her off!

Judie said...

Thank you, Steve. Sure hope you are able to stay relatively cool over the next several days.

Thank you, JudyE for the call over.

Lynn, are you going to have "black out" conditions until the work is completed? Can the sun room provide some light? Well, the good thing is that Liesl may be little but she apparently is also a very good alarm system.

Lynne1, just went through a crown replacement. Only pain was the price tag.

Adding my rain prayers for TX and for the fawns left uncared for.

Ha, lol. Loretta says shhh for her message and I realized I was whispering in my head as I was reading. Well, duh! Hi Lowreeda!

Going to play wannabe Jo and put my feet up. Book on career criminals is pretty interesting.

Dinner: beef short ribs, parsley new potatoes, spinach salad. Y'all come!

Judie said...

Lynn, sorry about the leaks. Is that something to be expected with your type of abode? I ask because we had our place power washed before painting with no leaks. Just curious.

Wonder if Shirley went fence hunting today? Wonder if Hunter decided he was hungry enough to eat.

Almost forgot, Hornby Island's Alexandra and David are about to become former nest residents. Maybe a day or two or three.

hedgie said...

Judie....I'll be there for dinner!

Well....leaks shouldn't happen, and never did on my big house....but we KNOW how we put that one together and how the splines were sealed between the logs. Have no idea if whoever built this one knew or did things properly....so it has leaked every time it's been pressure washed. ARGH! Not, of course, a lot---just between a few logs.....two rows in bathroom and looks like one row in kitchen---tho' it was the worst!
Sunroom provides plenty of light, but they did take plastic off the front door, and it fell off the front kitchen window!

paula eagleholic said...

Judie, dinner sounds delish!

Lynn, is there any way to seal the house now to prevent future leaks?

DanaMo said...

Another downpour in Hagerstown. WOW! It's not cooling things off though.

DanaMo said...

Dinner is pizza here! My fav!

paula eagleholic said...

Looks like it may have rained at my house earlier, but no rain here at work....was to the east of us.

hedgie said...

*^#+*^~#*Water trouble.....no pressure....I think there's a problem with the pump. Charlie is on his way.....MY TYPICAL LUCK........ARGH-H-H!!!!!!!!

hedgie said...

I don't think there's any way to seal it now, Paula.........if it had been done right at the beginning, this wouldn't happen. But no way to get the proper gasket inbetween the logs now.

Lolly said...

Shush!!!! No more talk of rain!!!
I mean it!!! Getting nasty here!

Home from the movie. Enjoyed it! Jack thought the battle scenes were not with the book. It is now over. Sad! Talked with Laurel and she is jealous. She will be here Sunday as we head to the b____h Monday. So, we will keep Jacob here and she can take Joseph to see the movie. Jacob is still a wee bit too young for it.

Sorry about the leaks, Lynn. That's where the stink bugs get in!

Lolly said...

Oh, I do like that ending to the poem about the child born on the Sabbath day better! LOL

I was born at home and Daddy was holding my mother's hand. Is that not cool?

hedgie said...

OMG---that incident where the teen killed his parents and then threw a party in the house....it happened in Port St. Lucie, FL---where Mom used to live, and Bobbi (Robyn's folks) now lives!

hedgie said...

Possibly, Lolly---but I think they get it more at the sunroom doors since that's where I find the most of them!
Sweet that your Daddy "helped" with your birth!

paula eagleholic said...

Cool, Lolly!

hedgie said...

Sharp crack of thunder. Sun is out. Hmmmm....may have to shut down....

Mema Jo said...

I think I will shut down - That thunder is just continuously rolling

Lolly said...

My older sister was named after our Mother. Younger brother was named after Daddy. I was named Laurel Beth 'cause they liked it. My brother always said I was adopted. (funny now that I have an adopted child). Daddy would come to my defense, as my birth was the only one he was there for. Showed them!! LOL

Lolly said...

Now, girls, no talk of rain or anything associated with rain!!!

Still waiting for Charlie. He thinks that something is just stuck on the pressure valve---I know what he means but I don't know how to describe what it does!

Lynn, so sorry about the water issue. Seriously hope everything will be okay tomorrow for the workers.

Only a few drops of you know what here in NoVa. Did a precipitation jig for TX.

Judie said...

As for the images being "seen" at the nest, these are referred to as hallucinations and medication is available. Referrals for treatment are free of charge.

paula eagleholic said...

Oh Lynn, sorry to hear that news! Sounds like you need a water truck of some sort tomorrow for them to be able to finish.

DanaMO, once again, have a wonderful time! I hear ya on missing the dogs!

Hedgie, that is a sorry saga about the water, very glad that Charlie and pal thinks your system will recover...but, what next with the project....I would think that the workers have encountered this before and might know of a solution also

DanaMo - might have missed you, but sounds like you have all your ducks in a row for your Trip, and I hope your aches and pains stay behind in Maryland while you travel. Best wishes on a Great Trip!

The cam is off for the season.

So sorry about the way things turned out there, Hoda, and I hope they can try again next year and have success

hedgie said...

Back.....storm sure messed up my Tues. night TV. Got Deadliest Catch okay but not Memphis Beat or Hawthorne....drat. Will have to catch them when they run again later in the week.

Worker guy doesn't have a water tank or access to one or water truck with pump. He will hold off for a day or two and then only do a couple of hours a day. Today they ran water for close to 5 hrs.
SIL will check well tomorrow to see if he can drop the pump any lower....but highly unlikely since it was pumping m ud---pretty good sign that it's down as far as possible....400+ feet.
Thanks for sympathies!

DanaMO---have a marvelous trip. Hope your symptoms are DONE for good!

Lori, if you peek in---hope your Mom is recovering by the minute!! Get as much rest as you can!!

MARGY Thanks for the update on the Kootenay Osprey nest. I will go to their site to check out what they have to say...

Jewels said...

OMG Mom that is awful!!!! I will pray that water comes back!! Whose responsible for that, if it totally messed up your well?? You I guess? Seems he would have to rent a truck to finish. At his cost!!!!

Costume Lady said...

OH NO, Lynn, I feel your pain:( We have had problems with our well in the past. When that hole in the ground runs dry or gets muddy (as ours does), you feel so helpless and hopeless! Ours always clears up over night.

Kay said...

LYNN, sorry to hear about the water woes and the fact that it will mean a slow down for the painters. Poor Liesl. It also prolongs her nervousness over the project, huh ?

This Monday's child enjoyed the topic of the day ! I was born in a small osteopathic hospital in downtown OK City and was, for the entire two weeks Mother and I were there, the only baby. They used to tell me, "you were the prettiest baby in the hospital". I think that's the last time "fair of face" was remotely accurate. Over the years as we visited relatives there we occasionally drove by that building, watching it go from hospital to insurance company and finally to a funeral home !

Hoped to see another message from LORI or KATE. Hope the day went well for Nancy !

DANAMO, wishing you safe travel n' lots of fun. Relax, the dogs will enjoy all the attention your sitter will give them, I'm sure !

Finally heard from my Tucson friends and they will arrive about noon on Thurday. It's supposed to be the hottest day of the week ! I don't think we'll be out and about much, as the air quality is poor and the humidity high. Ugh !

It could be worse, as in what LOLLY and JACK are dealing with. I am including prayer for r__n in my daily routine !

Prayers for all in need and all in general ! I♥you Eagle Buds !

Oh my gosh, Lynn. I hope the water situation works out for you.

I officially went fence shopping today. Finally. We do not need really tall fences for basset hounds, so I will likely buy a picket fence, and not a really tall one.

Just want it to be tall enough to keep kids from cutting through the yard.

Hoda, everything back to normal for the moment. Tank has filled and pump shut off. I will draw an extra pitcher of water for my tea. Toilet tank is full. SIL says go ahead and run water for my bath and then turn off pump for overnight. There was still enough water in lines for handwash and dinner, but did pull out a container of WetOnes in case!!!

well, I'm going to bed....still feeling tired but not as bad as yesterday. I was out like a light all night last night and I can't remember the last time that happened! Or maybe I did get up for a Wee Hour trip and just slept through it!

Good night and prayers for all....especially for those in this heat, and drought in the south, for Lori's mom, Jack's neck, safe travels for DanaMo, Lynn's water.....

hedgie said...

Need to check out Jo's Ocracoke story, Lynne! Yep---have seen them there before. :(

Going to bid you all a very goodnight. Rest well....stay cool, and safe if more storms hit.

Loved your pics, Margy!

Prayers for all and especially for Nancy tonight, and the family.

I kept telling myself LYNN is practical and things will turn out OK...thanks for your post Lynn.

Hi, Everyone,
Dropping in to say goodnight. Looks like there has been some pretty wild weather back East!

Lynn, glad your water situation seems to have worked itself out. Hope the guys can finish their work without problems!

Lynne2, glad you slept so well last night. You certainly must've needed it!

I finally got the mail I was waiting for from the Hernia Clinic doctor, late today! They didn't mail it until the 16th! it took it 3 days to get here. Will begin working on it tomorrow. My neck just ties itself in a painful knot when I've been on the computer about 15 minutes. Driving me crazy! My trapezius muscle is the culprit--ends up in a charlie horse! Comes & goes, but hope it will have improved by tomorrow. Going to go take a shower and let some really warm water run on it.

Emma has been a really good girl, and has been "hanging out with Mom" today. She has been sitting in my lap, looking up at me with the most sympathetic expression! They always seem to know when you just don't feel 100%.

Hoping and PRAYING that Texas will get some rain!!!! Just an unbelievable situation.

Prayers have been said for everyone, especially those who need healing. Prayers for all creatures, too.

Turning on the porch light. Enabling both security systems. Sleep well, everyone. Good Lord willing, I will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]

I was hoping to have an update from Lori about her Mom before we all went to bed, but I guess there is not much to say about Nancy's condition at this point. First day, after major surgery, most everyone feels lousy and has a good deal of pain

Sandman is coming up the hallway~

and from the Puleston site:
regarding Loch of the Lowe's:
( I guess I didn't realize that "MARGE" is Isla ??):

" the eggs we retrieved from the osprey nest were fertile. Initial results from tests on the eggs have shown that the eggs definitely had started to form. This means our resident female, although an elderly osprey is still fertile. Further tests on the eggs are being carried out and we will keep you informed of anything else that is discovered. This however may take a few weeks, and still further tests will be carried out after that which could take months to get results back from.

However for now at least, we know the problem is not the age of our osprey. Who knows she may yet raise her 50th chick from the nest…!

I hope you are feeling perkier today, and can enjoy time around the house...see you saw some of my pictures...and that YOU have seen some of what I have seen, with the moths.
I would like to get a field trip organized to Swinging Bridge one of these days !

I will look forward to new pictures on your blog also.

Lynn: I was pretty close to that hummingbird moth - about two feet away, was glad it allowed the picture taking, and the muddy turtle is the snapping turtle that two guys rescued off the hot road and put into the underbrush, it was probably 2 - 2.5 feet
"big" including the tail

Good morning!

DanaMo, have a safe trip and enjoy.

Margy, love the pictures. Thank you so much. Have a good day at work.

Lynn, when you read this I hope you have found your water issue is resolved and work on the house cna continue.

Andy, sure hope that muscle decides to relax so you can get the transcription finished. Yes, our animal friends do seem to sense our moods and needs.

JudyE, congratulations to your niece and her husband.

Interesting report on Isla's eggs. Maybe it was the unusually harsh weather this year.

Will check in later to see if there is an update from Lori.

Returning to the pillows for a few minutes. Have a great morning everyone.

Good morning,

Looks very still at the nest today. Hardly a breeze.

Lynn, I hope plenty of water flowed into your well while you slept last night.

Got up with Kathryn early this morning because she needed help taking care of the critters. She is really sore today, but went on to work.

Hope your neck is much better today, Andy. Give Emma an extra pat for me. She is such a sweet little puppy.

I love your pictures, Margy. Wouldn't want to get too close to that snapper.

Good Morning eagle family!

Oh, how I miss you and our eagles.
Sorry they didnt show up for you this morning DANAMO and JUDYE.

DANA, It is so hard to pack for just me, I cannot imagine trying to get a whole family ready. Many blessings in that endeavor.

JUDYE, I am so excited to see the surfing horses video. Riding a horse on the beach and swimming while riding it - and trying to stay on it's back - is one of my favorite happy, peaceful memories. That was on a beach in Jamaica, with white sand and beautiful blue ocean water, twenty years ago.

KAY, I hope your guests have arrived and you are all having a great time inside with cool air conditioning.

The weather here has been the most humid I can remember - feels like Florida or Tahiti.

Today I will go back on the blog and read Mom all of your wonderful posts about your prayers and concern for her. I was going to last night but she is still pretty heavily sedated on Percocet. At least she is not in any pain. The nurses are all amazed at how well she is doing and that she was moved out of CICU so quickly.

I must tell you, I would read your posts and get tears in my eyes, and goosebumps, like I just got, thinking about it. That will be another memory of a lifetime. Thank you ALL. You are the most wonderful and truly beautiful people I have ever known and you all inspire me in some way every day. For everything - a robustly big hug and many, many heartfelt thanks.
