Paula thanks for the confirmation about the missing flight feathers on NX and also that she is flying OK. I did not see the pictures.
DANA The story on the Beaks lady is not exactly as the papers make it out to be. I tried to volunteer there when I lived closer to her area and found her to be abrupt and almost rejecting of any help. She has been offered grants yet she refuses to function within the confines of what they require and then gets angry at the same people who offer her help.It is a complicated situation. In a sense she blocks her own way for getting help. People have made donations, large sums, and yet never a mention of those donations only her dire situation. There is no question she does good with the injured wild life.
Can't exactly say the yellow-billed Cuckoo sounds like the clock, think it has different bird noises as some do, so maybe I have just not heard the Cuckoo part of it....
JO----the clocks DO sound like the real thing----just not quite as soft, if you know what I mean! Liesl did "fair" in class....new lesson is Wait. Hmmmmm......she's too eager!
Andy....did you get the last 25 hrs. done??
Kay, great that you slept in! I sure could have if Liesl hadn't wanted out. It's been cloudy all day so far.....Temp has actually dropped to 77°---but 92° in DC---so sun must be out there.
Ed Clark is on the chat...says this: NX is missing one entire flight feather, #9, and part of another, #8, which was broken at some point yesterday, though it may well have been damaged previously as well. That means that only two--(2)--feathers are not fully functional. When we next examine her, we'll determine if there is enough left of the broken feather to "imp", or splice another feather onto the broken shaft, or if we'll just let them grow back naturally. But, all of the hysteria about the condition of her wing is just as misplaced as the concern about the impact of the transmitter. NX is fine, and will be fine...
I don't see her in the flight cage...
Wanda...sounds like GG is doing VERY well! Glad that it's cooler and cloudy---sure don't want her out there in 90° heat! Less pain in your knee on the first day is remarkable! Nov. can't come soon enough! Which dentist is that, please? With Brookreson retiring soon (he's already down to only one day a week, I may need to start looking.
think we are going to ride past the airport and see the C-5s on the tarmac....maybe get a closer look if the restaurant is open... he was totally enthralled with the C5 flyover yesterday
shop for a few little clothing things, see how the weather develops, play some board games, cards, do some reading, things like that!
Coming out of lurkdom to post this link: http://www.wmtw.com/news/28692892/detail.html This might be old news to some of you, but it has hit the papers and the broadcast news here! Swan Island is right off the coast in Penobscot Bay and you can see the ocean and great fishing in the photo. Those parents sure must have been busy feeding this mob!
Hoda, our Humane Society is the same way. Refuse offers of outside help, and won't apply for various available grants because they only want to do it their way. Very sad. Leaves a bitter taste for many. I won't deal with them, that's for sure.
it's kind of easy I guess and many of you can relate...to think... WoW! I didn't say anything to this person or that, about this or that...
I know YOU ALL know how it feels to kind of get behind, and out of touch, but I just sure wish there were more than 24 hours in a day !!! And the extra hours could be used to catch up here !
On that note, must sign off...say Hello Barbara! I see you Here..
Welcome Home DanaMo and hope the Jet Lag is easier to manage back here, you Gained some Hours instead of losing them !!
I see that FuzzlaMa has changed now to FuzzleMt....and I sure hope and pray, Irene....that you will feel the welcome of Montana...and get all settled in and comfortable very soon ((( HUGS ♥ from WV ) xoxo ♥
Hi, Barbara. Good to see you! Great piece of news!!! Thanks. Hope they all do well! Did you know that a nest with 4 was found on the James River in VA during an aerial survey ealier this summer? The parents sure must keep VERY busy with 4 mouths to feed! Don't be a stranger!!
Yes, Margy, that is Dustin in my avatar. I am fearful of him palying football and getting hurt. He is not a husky boy like Brandon. Although, Brandon does have 2 bad knees from playing football:( With a team name of The Eagles, he's got to be safe;)
MARGY and LYNN thanks for the post that was brought over from the last thread and which answered my question about the fly feathers on NX. I missed it somehow, and I am grateful to see it here.
Warm day here today in the mid seventies and is supposed to go up to eighty something. I washed the car yesterday and today cleaned the insides as I had vacuumed it and it needed some work on the dashboard. It always surprises me how much time it takes to do all those little chores in it and I feel better when they are done. Watered the plants and am headed out to lunch after yoga. BBL HAGD
Barbara, great news on the 4 eaglet nest! We also heard of one in Virginia this year, near the James River. Thanks so much for the article, I hadn't heard the news.
Ed Clark, WCV: Thanks, Shoebutton... We are delighted to have you here as well!!! Thanks for the kind words. When we were planning to get our page and cam launched, we never knew it would be in the midst of such drama!!! Oh, FYI.... NX is missing one entire flight feather, #9, and part of another, #8, which was broken at some point yesterday, though it may well have been damaged previously as well.
OOPS I see that LYNN had already posted the feather situations Oh well may be I should read before I post HA I know yesterday had a bunch of double post from different peeps made my reading faster anyway
Hoda, I did the inside of my truck last week. Amazing how DUSTY things get, isn't it? Your weather sounds perfect! It has warmed up this afternoon---87 now.
Okay, Wanda....thanks.
Found a perfect luna moth out in the yard-----except that it is dead. No damage/wounds....but no innards left. Picked clean by something. :( But it is pretty.
I've taken 2 naps today. Hopefully I will get caught up on missed sleep and changing time zones.
My husband had to change planes in Phoenix and continue on for work to a customer, since we only had one car (which the kids and I drove home last night) I have to pick him up from the airport tomorrow. Wish I could have arranged a ride for him.
So did she gaze into his eyes. My dentist has really nice eyes, but he is the husband of one of my classmates (and I am happily married), but hey,, when you are lying in the chair where else is there to look when they are right in your face? LOL!
Had my MRI this morning. Not sure when I will get results but the neurontin has really worked. Should be interesting to find out what is going on with my neck.
Red, glad that you are okay. Right you are----good men triumph!
Thelma, I know exactly what you mean! It's the dread and fear that makes it SO bad.....it's only been the last few years that I've even been able to go through a cleaning without gas. Nothing else, tho'---shoot me up with the novocaine and slap that nitrous on me!!
DanaMo---Neurontin is a good med---so glad that it has helped. Will be anxious to hear what your MRI shows, too.
Sharon, my dermatologist is a dream boat, too! And SO kind. LOL----he went to school with my kids!!
Thelma so glad you dental appointment wasn't as bad as you had remembered from years ago.
DanaMo I see doctor put you on Neurontin which is also called Gabapentin. I was given the Gabpentin for the pain in the degenerative disease in my neck and back. It didn't help. I am praying that the Neurontin helps you very much.
Yes as you see JudyE don't feel badly for posting when someone else has already posted. We all sometimes get behind and try scanning the comments fast. To get caught up. Maybe someone else is scanning real fast and missed Lynn-Hedgie's but caught yours.
Dana, I clicked on your plant and I do not know what it is. I checked in my plant book and it must be a variety for the east as I could not find it. Good luck with finding out what it is...why do you want to know? Is there an urgency?
Lolly I am glad you coped well with the encounter in the sea with a jellyfish? The weather promises to bring rain your way and I hope it is sufficient for your lawn. It is wonderful to read of the support you got from your family when you got stung and also your determination to get back in the water today...looking forward to your posts today...
I helped Dennis with our new wood splitter today and we're both exhausted. Just handling the wood is work. All I had to do was operate the lever. But we both stacked lots when we were done. I am sure I will feel it tomorrow!
WVDana - Not sure what your plant is. Asked my hubby and he wasn't familiar with it either. I am sure someone will identify it for you!
Lynne - Congrats on the new car. Glad you got that resolved! See you didn't need to worry so much!!
Wanda - Glad you're getting a little relief. So sorry you're still at an 8 in pain. That is pretty bad. Happy to hear that GG is feeling well.
Red - Hoping you're on the mend quickly. Take it easy in this heat!
Lolly - Wondering if you had any bites or rash that you saw today from your run in with something in the sea. Hoping you're okay. Praying, too, that Jack's neck continues to be okay until he gets more information.
DanaMO - Welcome Back! I am sure today is an adjustment day for you. It may take a few days after all the excitement you all have had to settle back in to your normal lives! Praying you get some answers on your neck, too. Glad the meds are helping.
Margy - I am sure whatever you and James did today, it was simply wonderful!!
Thelma - You survived your dental appointment!! Hooray for you! I know that was a HUGE hurdle for you.
Lori - I am sure your Mom and Dad will be thrilled to see you again. You're an awesome daughter to go back yet again. How is your Mom doing?
Ate dinner on the deck, and got treated to a visit at the feeder by the male hummer...then a cardinal at the regular feeder. Then there was some feeder defending going on by a female. So I go inside to get the camera...then she won't stop at the feeder!
Candy Norrell Finally got back from Duke Eye Center for my partial corneal transpland and all went just fine. Sorry to say, tho, I won't be on here for a little while while my eye heals. Hope all my friends are doing ok and having a wonderful summer. I will be back on as soon as possible. Until then, God bless all of you and thanks for the prayers.
PAULA thank you very much for the photo with NX missing feathers...what a great shot.Somehow I resist the idea of having them do a graft of a feather and I hope she heals on her own...the question becomes how long does it take to grow a feather and will they keep her that long?
Good Evening Every Eagle Buddy. I just got lost on Dana WV's pic blog. It's doing that same glitch about not letting you post if the check mark is there, then it didn't like my password, etc. etc. Would be simpler to saw Dana's plant looks like poke weed. The lady next door does not come outside, has her grass cut maybe 3 times a year & it's a jungle with many poke weeds. She had the last lawn cutters trim some shrubs & they also TRIMMED the poke weeds!!!!DUH!! Unfortunately, they are perennials so should be removed. If the lady that used to live there ever drove past this house, she would have a heart attack. They were real gardeners. I never tell her when we write.
(guess I should divulge that had mammo today, the result wait was way too long, then ultra-sound, then---"there's a change-come back in 6 mos. But it's probably OK!" DUH!) Luckily, I was so exhausted after that, took a good Panda nap after lunch!I know they keep picking on you to keep you safe, so need to try & forget about it for now. ☺
We found a Luna Moth holding onto a twig at Sideling last trip. I investigated and it wasn't moving, not even a twitch. So, I put it in a paper towel and secured it in the glove box. When we got home and turned the car off, I heard noise in the glove box!! Lo and Behold, IT WAS ALIVE!!! And not very happy! It escaped into the car and it was quite a riot trying to carefully catch it so we could release it, but we got it done!
Lynn,HOA could maybe do something, but county usually gives warnings--one of their offices is down the street & they stuff the mailbox!.I just don't want to bother her. Been very interesting events w/NBG eagle. Hope they might release her in same area so she could catch up w/siblings, but I guess that's maybe a people idea. I did see a hawk yesterday AM at Chelsea. We have several flitting around and squealing, but this one was on a freshly cut grass strip & I was in car. Think it was a red shouldered. Not many animals out in daytime w/this heat. Paula's hummers reminded me that this evening I saw female come to feeder twice w/out be chased away by Bad Boy. 1st time she took 30 sips. 2nd shot was 45 sips. Maybe it's 2 different ones or she wouldn't be able to fly! LOL
Lynne, how wonderful to find a live Luna. I love them but rarely see them anymore. I only see maybe one deer grazing in PM at Chelsea---bad animal viewing this summer. Picked my first really good size tomato yesterday. Have 2 free plants in pots. They are called yellow pear & that's the shape! First tall spindley plant had several small ones. I knew they were ripe when their skins split! They got yellow-orange & taste just like regular tomatoes. Now, I'll be keeping an eye on the pawpaws for the next botanical experiment!!
we got the dogs out, opened all of the doors and tried to guide it....it promptly flew under the passenger seat. That was tough, but it came out and flew off!
Linda, I've done my share of operating the splitter and stacking, too, back in the old married days! LOL---went halves on buying one a couple of years ago with SIL, and he hasn't brought it and used it here yet!
You're right, Lynn. I wouldn't be surprised at how much this/these female hummers ate because they rarely get a chance to dine w/out being divebombed! Need to slug some water~~~
LORETTA, I join in the prayers that it is nothing and that you have the inner strength to not become too anxious over the coming six months till they clue you in some more as to what the changes are...If you find you are anxious talk about it with us and we will all be there for you supporting you and cheering you on.I love JO's saying "we came here for the eagles and stayed for the friendship".Godspeed LORETTA.
Linda I read your comment about the wood splitter. Oh my!! I remember those days well. Ed and I or is it Ed and me got a wood splitter when we first married. It was hard work splitting and then loading to get to the area near the house but not too near it. Then the stacking began. We also of course made a very huge stacked pile back by the wood splitter and covered it so it wouldn't get rain and snow on it.
Yep your going to feel it tomorrow. I do have to say there was some playing around between the two of us during our breaks. That bring back a lot of good memories for me since my "love is gone". So now I would have to say I wouldn't trade splitting wood for nothing ( :
Thanks Mema Jo for putting Candy's comment from facebook on this blog.
For August yikes August Birthdays. Wasn't there any Anniversaries in August?? I had one my first marriage but that is in the delete/trash can lol
Judie you and Darth are going to be interviewed by Lori. Oh boy....can't wait to hear this wonderful interview of two of the nicest people I have met.
Lori tell your Mother hello and prayers continue for her. Have a safe trip.
Poke week - Especially to those who have not been properly trained in its use, poke weed should be considered dangerous and possibly deadly. For many decades, poke salad has been a staple of southern U.S. cuisine, despite campaigns by doctors who believed poke weed remained toxic even after being boiled. Nonetheless, some parts can be used as food, medicine or poison. In a traditional Cherokee recipe for fried poke stalks, young stalks are harvested while still tender, peeled to remove most of the toxin, washed, then cut into pieces and Fried like okra with cornmeal.
Oh no those white things on top which are many. Turn to berries and the birds love them. PURPLE--yea all over my car.
I planted a Liriope variegated this spring and this plant started growing up near the middle of it. So I got it up and planted it by itself. THAT SUCKER IS COMING OUT OF THE GROUND!!!! One it is poison and two birds will be eating those berries and there will be "poop shoots of purple everywhere; ramp, rails, steps, chairs, and my car, oh and the sides of my WHITE house. OUT OF THE GROUND IT COMES TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!! Shovel and then I'll pour some Clorox and cover the hole with dirt.
THANKS everyone I looked it up and it looks just like it-poke weed.
Loretta prayers for good results of the mammo and ultra-sound. I remember I think it was Iris. Someone on our blog back a ways. Had to wait 6 months too. It was nerve racking. I am sure anytime you get to worrying just bring it up on here and someone will talk with you. I do remember the other person a good while back. Did began to worry and brought it up a couple of times. We all chatted and prayed. ((((HUGS GAL)))
LOL sorry Lynne2 but that is such a funny story. Was you all driving when you found it to be ALIVE? Did you have to pull over to the side of the road?
Oh I have been outside and every part of my body is hurting. I finally got a thing that holds a hose and got it fixed to the faucet. Then I watered the plants and the hose kept getting kinks in it. Had to keep walking over the ground back to undo the kinks. Which about killed my hands. Oh why did I plant anything. Most of the stuff can be watered off the decks and the ramp. Of course they didn't put the faucet in the best of places for me. Most people would be ok with it where it is. Oh well...can't hurt forever :(
I looked up and told Ed, "Ed you better be helping me this is killing me". I was done watering and trying to wrap the hose by turning the handle. Which still is not easy. Of course it started sprinkling. Well I just started laughing out loud. Said, "Thanks Ed my darling you are always there to help me". lol
Stopping in to say just got power back on a few min ago and some storms move in I was at Angies and was driving when they came to my house I came home no power lines down on the corner two house away I sat out in the truck with air on for while after chatting with the neighbors funny thing is across the street all the house had lights just our side and behind us that always happens to this side odd
Had a nice with Jordyn went to the Suncoast Prime mate Sanctuary she loves Pogo the orangutan

Well I'm calling it a day
See ya in the am ☼ God Bless this Nest and all ♀ ♥ ♂ whom watch it at Sycamore Palace Healing thoughts for those in need
"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone is fighting some kind of battle."
Lowreeda, rest easy, please. Went through the same and it was simply dense tissue (regrettably, age). I can truly empathize.
Now, as for the big event. Darth was contacted by a radio station regarding doing a live program during our National Night Out Against Crime community pot-luck on Aug. 2. Immediately contacted Lori. Need to scoop the competition. So, Lori is going to interview Darth who is the neighborhood watch coordinator (and I guess me) about the event. It really is a big deal in this community. 25 years of continuous neighborhood watch patrols -- oldest in the U.S. We get t.v. coverage, County police chief, police, politicians, and tons and tons of really good food. So, now you know. I have no idea how this works so Lori has to tell you. I guess I just wanted her to get there first.
Busy and sometimes frustrating day at school. Did get some tasks accomplished.
The night light is on (need to be up early tomorrow) for those who may need to arise in the dark and for those coming in from the West Coast. Restful sleep for all.
JudyEI believe you are the one that sent the bird email around. I just opened it and relaxed and read and listened to the beautiful music. That is the most POWERFUL power point I have ever gotten. It is simply beautiful and the words are so very true. Thank you for sending that. IT IS A KEEPER !!!!
JudyE--rest well. Another day of fun ahead for you, I'm sure. Too bad about the power outage---so cool that they got it repaired so quickly. Never happens here like that! Usually takes at least a day!
Been there, too, Loretta. Everybody on here is so supportive. I think that if you are really busy, as you are, you don't have too much time to worry. You don't forget. You just fill your days with other things.
Kathryn and Hunter came home with two baby squirrels that had fallen out of their nest this evening. Their eyes are still closed. Susan came down and is taking them to a rehab person in Mt. Vernon.
We took pictures, but I am too tired to post anything tonight. The rehabbers call the little hairless babies "pinkies."
Neat, Judie! Will the interview be live? What time?? Goodnight, celebrity!
Nighters to you, too, Hoda. I'm going with y'all. Tired....and not feeling quite right tonight. Good luck to the early birders....hope you get a visit. Prayers for all.
that does have a nice ring... Lori and Judie and Darth
hope I can hear it when it airs! Guess that would air same day? More to be Revealed....
Hi Paula! Rain how great, we could use some here! First official BLT this morning, with my tomatoes and Megan's lettuce! Had to buy the bread, bacon and mayo
MARGY, did you have a good day with James? What adventures did you experience? I like it that he knows our blog and responds to our comments. Is he going to be with you tomorrow also?
James and I had some magnificient views of the HUGE C5's from the civilian side of the airstrip in Martinsburg..and saw a few little planes come land, and take off. Neat little terminal with a museum effect with all kinds of neat things James just enjoys riding around and seeing different things, and so do I ! Friday we'll go get his Dad and the three of us will hit the creek at Swinging Bridge
MARGY would you explain to me how is it that the Russians are the ones who made the decsion to de-orbit the ISS in 2020. I see it as an American station, you all paid for it. If it is not it is an international station. So how is it that the Russians make the decision?
I am so far behind in learning all about that...I had not been aware of it until reading your post a few days ago... I feel hopelessly behind on these kinds of things, politics, and life things in general sometimes :(
Time for news--gotta see if they voted on whether we go belly-up or not financially. They need some intelligent person to tell them how to run finances. I vote for Paula!
Thank all of you so much for your kind support. I've been there about 3 times before & should not let it bother me. You are all just the best! ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Thanks Hoda, regarding James... he's a little kid and a young man at the same time, but he sure does get a kick out of a lot of neat things..history, science, nature
Whoa, the Night Bandit is lurking, and challenging the Sandman to see who is going to win big first! Woof !!!
Wanda, I know you are concerned about Dustin with the football-playing risks...sometimes it is just difficult to relax about these things, but I will pray right along with you for a safe season and as you said, with the team being the Eagles...well, that's spiritually uplifting
Good Night Loretta...(( Hugs ♥ ))
Shirley, hope the two little squirrel tykes will be okay, glad that Susan is going to take them
Have been busy today. I'm trying to clean up/neaten up/organize my computer desk. Need to get a stack of office trays to make things easier to find.
Yay! Late this afternoon I got 2 more reports from the doctor who's sending me transcription!
I haven't finished my 25 hours that I still have to do, but these reports all count toward that, so I actually have only about 20 hours to go. That's counting the time it took to make 2 templates of the report formats.
I had to laugh this morning. Emma was sleeping in, and I was busy doing housework. I heard her whining, then woofing (not super loud like barking). I went to investigate, and found that she was alerting me to a spider walking across the carpet in front of her crate. I smooshed it, and thanked her profusely for looking out for her "Mom." :o] She was so proud of herself!
Golly, yesterday there was a news story about a woman in Laguna Woods (south of where I am) who was out walking her Yorkie, when a coyote grabbed her dog and ran with it. She held onto the leash, and was pulled off her feet. The coyote got away, and the dog was killed. The lady was kind of scratched up and bruised, and was definitely in shock. Today on the news they said City Council members are considering arming the people who respond to such calls. I hope they do! Coyotes in Orange County are getting more and more bold, and many are NOT afraid of humans!
I worked in the Tub Garden today...no weeds, but plenty squash bugs. Most of the plants have died because of their assult Tomatoes, and pepperw are doing well, as are the green beans:)
Saturday is GG's 91st birthday and we will all be going to China City Buffet and watch her eat her crab legs, tomorrow evening. Will have her a cake for dessert when we all get back home...tummies will probably be too full for cake:)
Shirley, nice about the baby squirrel rescue. Hope the best for them.
Margy, so glad you and James have had yet another amazing time together. Enjoy tomorrow also.
Apparently Thelma has survived the hottie dentist. My way of coping is to remind my dentist that pain = scream = waiting patients departing. He laughs. I do not.
So happy Candy's surgery was successful. You go gal!
Yippee! Margy's first blt of the season. Sure wish you had shared with Tom Sweetie.
Don't know about when, or if, the interview will be aired. Lori will know. This is Darth and Judie's first time. I just know it is via phone at 9:15am. I believe it is recorded for later but not sure.
The sandperson is truly getting annoyed. Keeps tapping my shoulder and making ahem noises. So, really need to say goodnight. Sleep well.
Oh, Shirley, Those baby squirrels are indeed tiny! I hope the rehab lady can save them.
Margy, it's really cool that you and James have been having so much fun together! Enjoy! Please tell him I said "Hi"!
Well, I'd better call it a day. Need to get to bed earlier tonight! Prayers for all those on the prayer list, and those that aren't! Prayers for all creatures, too. Making sure the porch light is on. Enabling the security systems. Sleep well, everyone! God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
Only enough time to wirte the important details of a special interview I'm doing this morning!
The Judie and Darth interview will air Sunday Morning at 7:30AM !!! Your part is to listen to it as we honor our dear Judi and Darth who do so much for their/our community and so many other special projects and people. (Remember Darth was made a Lord of Fairfax this summer for all his charity/volunteer work...and you know Judie is a great force behind and for it, as well!) That's this Sunday morning, July 31 at 7:30AM on 97.1 WASH-FM, Washington DC. Get the iHeartRadio app to stream it on your computer. Or most can just go to the webiste at www.washfm.com and download it right there.
I'm out of time with a busy day ahead at work and getting ready to go to PA to check on my mother after her surgery.
Hello again... brushing up on all my National Night Out information for the big interview this morning!
It's getting light at the nest. Still waiting for my fellow Early Birds to check in. Hoping THELMA survived the dentist yesterday morning and that KAY is feeling well rested.
Susan got to the squirrel rehabber very late last night and posted this information of FB.
"Barbara, the rehabber, said that they were somewhat dehydrated indicating that mom was probably dead :( Barbara currently has 20 "pinkies" (this is what very young squirrels are called) and has to get up and feed them every 3 hours. Each feeding takes 1 hour. I admire rehabbers so much for all of their hard work and dedication to our wildlife.
Barbara gave them subcutaneous fluids (to hydrated them) right away and said they were in good shape, no broken bones. They both weighted a little over 30 grams. Barbara was wonderful and even at midnight taught me how to sex baby squirrels, showed me all kinds of pinkies at different ages, and shared some very cute chipmunk pictures with me :)"
Oh, Andy, I saw a news report about a coyote killing a little dog. Probably the same one you are talking about. It said that people are taking items to fend off the coyotes.
Lori-I'm so glad the dentist appointment is over. It wasn't bad. The fear seems to be always worse than the actual work being done. I hate being afraid like that.
Last night when Susan was leaving with the little squirrels, we held the door open for awhile. Then what should appear flying around our kitchen light . . . you guessed it . . . a STINKBUG.
I managed to knock it down with a flyswatter and flush it. Poor Luna abandoned the kitchen. She does not like violence.
Stronghunter-I'm with Luna, I don't like violence either but when it comes to those darn bugs all bets are off. We have been lucky here in Bluefield. They aren't really here yet. Well we had some when we first moved but haven't seen one in a while. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. : ))
Dana-I hope you can get on a regular sleep schedule soon. I know how hard it is when not enough sleep is gotten or waking up all through the night. Love Ya
Check out the pictures on my DanaMo picture blog "In my pool this morning...what is it? Can anyone tell me what was hanging on for dear life in my pool? Oh and I also posted Annemarie and her surfing experience.
DanaMO - It does look like a baby groundhog!! How cute!!
AnneMarie and the boys did great at Luna Beach with their surfing! They must have been plum worn out after that day. Now they are going to want to go back there every summer!
Hi LINDA! We agree on the baby groundhog. I have the chubbiest GH at home. They're vegetarians, so he must be my child! OH, maybe he is a she and will have baby groundhogs someday.
@ Linda-My Adam was trying to get his Uncle to agree to let him come and live in California. The kids absolutely loved it. Me, well I didn't like the traffic.
Glad you got a bit more rest, Shirley! The beach is beautiful, but along with it comes the traffic, the crowds, etc.
We lived just a few miles from the beach in Ft. Lauderdale, but only went late in the evening or really early in the morning when everyone else was NOT there!! It is beautiful then, too.
I prefer the beautiful mountains that are everywhere around me where I live. I see them wherever I go and marvel at their beauty.
The only way you can see the beach is to drive right next to it. Unless there is public beach, you don't get to drive for miles and continue to see the beach. Only the public beach is visible from the street!!
Anyway......going to go take care of some work related things and get my day going.
Just finished the interview with Lori. It was so easy and fun. She is just super terrific and putting us at ease and prompting with questions. Topic involved Darth's involvement with National Night Out Against Crime and my co-interest in the psychology of violent crime. Sure hope people who listen will get involved in Neighborhood Watch programs if not already.
Wanda best wishes for an A#1 evening with GG and the Crab Legs, and all the wonderful people that will be there with you. May you all be up to your elbows in good food and fellowship ♥
Wow---critter pics! Wee squirrel pinkies are precious, Shirley. So glad that Kat rescued them and that Suzi knew what to do. And DanaMo, not sure what yours is, but it's not a possum. A GH maybe, but I've never seen a wet one, so hard to say. Loved your latest pics.....left comment.
Tuned in to WASH-Fm as soon as I got up---which WASN'T early....never even heard Lori at all! So Sunday morning it is to hear the interview! Great!
So no AM nest visit, huh? This is getting to be a habit, LOL!
Poke Weed it was those flowers this morning after watering last night. Was nice big purple berries.
POKE WEED ALL GONE!!!! Made sure I had a plastic bag held it up turned all the stems into bag. Then laid bag on ground. Since I watered last night. Ground around weed nice and easy to dig. Got the root ball. Still poured clorox in. Filled in and then used the nice dark earth from bag to put some grass there.
HODA----ISS is an "international" endeavour....of course, I'm sure that the US has the most invested in it.....but since NASA will no longer have any transports to it, I suspect that the Ruskies think they own it because they will be running the trips back and forth for the foreseeable future. Like I always say, you can't trust them!
Good Morning Eagle Buds ! Sorry again gLORI, et al. I missed another day at SSCC. I have a sleeping sickness ☺--slept in two days in a row, even after dozing off and on all last evening in front of the TV.
JO, thanks for the August birthday list ! These months fly by !
LORI, JUDIE and FRANK, I'll be tuned in Sunday morning ! Thanks to Shirley for posting great pics of the interviewees.
I'm looking forward to seeing Julie, Seth and Malcolm this afternoon. Malcolm will stay with me while the other two visit the dentist. Which reminds me---so glad your dental visit was not so bad, THELMA !
Sure hope Belle and/or Truder decide to visit later today. They must be staying very close to the water on these hot, hot days.
I had a visit late last evening from Carolyn and Charlie....he refilled the feeder with corn and changed my water filter---that's three since the problem with the well---still pulling up lots of silt. Guess we really need rain! He also brought me a souvenir from his trip south---I now own a 4" pocketknife----with a great picture of Robert E. Lee on Traveler leading the troops along a river (assuming it is ol' Miss!).
Good Morning Friends - happy to get on here before the SPLIT. Have another FUN day with James, Margy. I wish you had a cool place to visit - Lori sent out a wonderful account of the Weather today-hot - hotter - hottest
LYNN - hope you feel great this morning JUDIE - anxious to hear the interview! Great that you gave Lori a headsup!
Wow, 30 yrs. ago today was Di and Charles' wedding....and the day that Carolyn flew to FL all by herself to visit with my sister! She was just under 9 yrs. old!!
Fence guy came and we walked around the property and talked.
He will talk to the Home Depot guy and give me some prices. I get to kill the vegetation in the back. Poison ivy, etc.
I will spray that stuff. I have to get rid of it if I want the tree back there to be within the fenced area. Also have to contact the HOA. There is a easement, but I do not think there are any utilities.
We have had Miss Utility come out a couple of times and nothing has ever been marked there.

Hi Sharon ( :
HodaIs there any way you all could raise some monies for the lady that runs Beaks in your area?
I have to leave I'm taking a friend out to lunch. That lost her sole mate a few months back.
Thanks STEVE for the new thread
Here is the link to get to watch NXNX WEBCAM
Good Thursday Morning, Eagle Pals, Whooops ! It is afternoon where I am!
Thanks Steve for the new thread...
and Thanks Hoda for the announcement !
I snuck in in the middle of the night, between Lori's getting up and being at work
Thinking of Thelma...hope "dentist in the morning," is now over since it is afternoon.
James thinks "Bluefield" is a great name for a WV Town!
Can't exactly say the yellow-billed Cuckoo sounds like the clock, think it has different bird noises as some do, so maybe I have just not heard the Cuckoo part of it....
tell you one thing, if I had children or grandchildren here full time, even one, I would probably never make it to the blog except once a year !
But it's nice to have James here for another day or so, we are getting ready to do something or other here soon...now that breakfast is over with..☺
Best Wishes for a Good Day, with comfort, healing and Joy
ttfn xoxox ♥
((((HUGS))))To George/James.
What on the stick for today?
Bringing over from old thread---thanks, Margy!!!
Ed Clark is on the chat...says this:
NX is missing one entire flight feather, #9, and part of another, #8, which was broken at some point yesterday, though it may well have been damaged previously as well.
Hi there, Sharon!
James returns the Greetings Wanda!
Is that Dustin in your avatar?
See his team is named The Eagles...!
think we are going to ride past the airport and see the C-5s on the tarmac....maybe get a closer look if the restaurant is open...
he was totally enthralled with the C5 flyover yesterday
shop for a few little clothing things, see how the weather develops, play some board games, cards, do some reading, things like that!
Coming out of lurkdom to post this link:

This might be old news to some of you, but it has hit the papers and the broadcast news here! Swan Island is right off the coast in Penobscot Bay and you can see the ocean and great fishing in the photo. Those parents sure must have been busy feeding this mob!
Wonderful report on GG, Wanda, and your Knee, going from at 10 to an 8 in pain now let's get that down to a Zero in Pain !!!
On that note, must sign off...say
Hello Barbara! I see you Here..
Welcome Home DanaMo and hope the Jet Lag is easier to manage back here, you Gained some Hours instead of losing them !!
Hello Red !!! G☺☺D to SEE Y☺U
ttfn xoxoxox ♥
Oh!
I see that FuzzlaMa has changed now to FuzzleMt....and I sure hope and pray, Irene....that you will feel the welcome of Montana...and get all settled in and comfortable very soon ((( HUGS ♥ from WV )

Thelma's appointment is actually at 2:15 p.m. She had the time wrong.
OH Rats Sharon!!!
I was hoping it was all over...okay 2:15 and also NOW -
(((((( HUGS ♥ )))))
for Thelma...
xoxo
Margy, enjoy whatever you two get into! No, the cuckoo here did not sound exactly like the ones in the Euro forests, but still very similar.
just recalculated my thoughts about DanaMo's gaining hours,
doesn't make any sense, guess she sort of lost those hours ???
okay on to other things here now
xo
Poor T-bird....had to get steeled a second time.....argh!
Yes, Margy, that is Dustin in my avatar. I am fearful of him palying football and getting hurt. He is not a husky boy like Brandon. Although, Brandon does have 2 bad knees from playing football:(
With a team name of The Eagles, he's got to be safe;)
Hi, Barbara...stop in as you have time:)
Lynn, I can't remember the Dentist's name, but he is right across from GG on Tennessee Ave. I check it out for you and jot down his phone number.
Forgot to say Welcome Home, DanaMO!
I got Service unavailable Error 503 but I made it Jordyn down for a nap I am doing laundry and decided to pop in and see a new thread BBL my delete
I posted a picture of NX wings that was posted on face book on my blog you can see the missing feathers NX missing feathers on flight day
some one had a great camera to get such a good picture GLO should have went I wonder did SCOTT go?
Ed Clark, WCV: Thanks, Shoebutton... We are delighted to have you here as well!!! Thanks for the kind words. When we were planning to get our page and cam launched, we never knew it would be in the midst of such drama!!!
Oh, FYI.... NX is missing one entire flight feather, #9, and part of another, #8, which was broken at some point yesterday, though it may well have been damaged previously as well.
OOPS I see that LYNN had already posted the feather situations Oh well may be I should read before I post HA I know yesterday had a bunch of double post from different peeps made my reading faster anyway
Thank you Steve! I was so wishing that
when I returned home the New Fresh Thread - taa daa!
But now I must put up my feet
BBILW
Hoda, I did the inside of my truck last week. Amazing how DUSTY things get, isn't it?
Your weather sounds perfect! It has warmed up this afternoon---87 now.
Okay, Wanda....thanks.
Found a perfect luna moth out in the yard-----except that it is dead. No damage/wounds....but no innards left. Picked clean by something. :( But it is pretty.
Here's the WVEC page with all the links to the release videos.
NBG Release videos
I'm doing fine now. Just had some breathing problems and old age crap. haha
Can't keep a good man down long.
Thanks for all your concerns.
Well everyone I'm back from the dentist. It sure wasn't what I always imagine it to be. Is that not how it usually is. Thank you for all your prayers.
Sorry I didn't get back with you all when I found out the appointment had been changed.
OK so the dentist wasn't too bad, Tbird.
Red, glad you are feeling better!
That's OK Tbird, Sharon or Sissy told us!
And I would like to add that her dentist, Tom, is really hot and such a sweetheart! :)
Hey, Thelma, glad you didn't faint and are back with us. How long has it been since you have been to a dentist?
You all have a good evening.
You, too, T-bird!
Hope the Dentist gave you a smiley face sticker, T-Bird. I always ask for one.
Margy I hope you and James are exploring
new avenues during your days off.
I went to a subway store on my way
home with a late lunch. Cheerios
came to my rescue for dinner hour.
Thelma so glad you dental appointment wasn't as bad as you had remembered from years ago.
DanaMo I see doctor put you on Neurontin which is also called
Gabapentin.
My friend is a retired nurse. We've known each other I guess since 1985. So we had a nice lunch and a lot of fun laughter.
Please everyone click on my name and go to my 2nd Blog
Can you name this PLANT???
I need help in finding the name of it? thank you
Dana, I clicked on your plant and I do not know what it is.
Evening Eagle Family!!
Hope everyone has had a good day today.
Evening, all
Getting a couple of drops of rain here.
Ate dinner on the deck, and got treated to a visit at the feeder by the male hummer...then a cardinal at the regular feeder. Then there was some feeder defending going on by a female. So I go inside to get the camera...then she won't stop at the feeder!
Lori, glad to hear you are heading to your parents this weekend. Will make everyone happy!
From our Momster Candy on FB
Candy Norrell
Finally got back from Duke Eye Center for my partial corneal transpland and all went just fine.
I was watching the movements of "Don" and on FB, Lolly says
"Don" is sending us home a day early.
I can't name the plant, Dana
Where did it come from - did you plant
it yourself?
I think I best tell you the b-days I have for AUGUST... Please email if you should be included:
4th Barbara Willard
6th Robyn Schonhans
18th Candy Norrell
27th Capt Gene Wright
30th Bobbi Schonhans
August 7th is Friendship Day
I came for the EAGLES but I stayed
for the FRIENDSHIPS I have made
I love that, MemaJo!!
Dana, left you a comment.
DanaWV....is your nurse friend local? Would I know her?
I don't know what your plant is....but it looks very similar to pokeweed without any berries.
Jo, what "flavor" sub did you get?
Neurontin sure saved me from the pain of peripheral neuropathy during chemo!
Hoda, I was wondering about how long it would take to grow a new feather, too!
Great news from Candy, Jo. Hadn't checked FB for a couple of hours.
Lori's not allowed to leave town until after her interview with Darth and me in the morning!
Thanks, Jo, too, for the list.
WhooHoo, Judie.....are you and Darth going to be live on air??? Please tell us more!!
How was everything at the big schoolhouse today?
Yes, Judie, you have to tell now.
Alright Sleuth Judi - what's the scoop?
Yes, what is the Judie secret???Something to do w/rock 'n roll???LOL
Thanks, Loretta....I thought that's what it was, too!
What a shame about the neighboring yard----can't your HOA do anything?
(guess I should divulge that had mammo today, the result wait was way too long, then ultra-sound, then---"there's a change-come back in 6 mos. But it's probably OK!" DUH!) Luckily, I was so exhausted after that, took a good Panda nap after lunch!I know they keep picking on you to keep you safe, so need to try & forget about it for now.
☺
I commented on your plant Dana....and I see Lorette did too!
Evening all!
So DanaMO is flirting with Dentist Man, and Thelma may not have gotten a smiley sticker for her aggravation today. Tsk Tsk Tsk!!
Lori is inerviewing Darth tomorrow?? What did I miss?
CD player in car not working. Radio is marginal. Oh well....
Did you save your Luna Moth Lynn?
We found a Luna Moth holding onto a twig at Sideling last trip. I investigated and it wasn't moving, not even a twitch. So, I put it in a paper towel and secured it in the glove box. When we got home and turned the car off, I heard noise in the glove box!! Lo and Behold, IT WAS ALIVE!!! And not very happy! It escaped into the car and it was quite a riot trying to carefully catch it so we could release it, but we got it done!
Prayers Loretta that it truly IS nothing!!! But I know it's hard not to think about it....
Wanda, glad your knee pain has lessened and that GG is doing well!
LOL
oh Linda....hope you aren't too sore tomorrow from playing Lumberjack today with Dennis!
Hoda's having a heat wave...WOO HOO!
That's really a shame about the rescue/donation issues. UGH.
I saw 2 momma does and 2 spotties, and one 6 point buck in velvet on the way home tonight!
Oh, Loretta, know how worrisome that must be....easy for THEM to say---wait 6 months. ARGH! Prayers that it is truly NOTTIN', honey!
Lynne, yep, I kept the luna.
Can't imagine what you went thru' trying to gently remove one from the car...wow! SO delicate.
We also found one on the MILs Flag one night. The next morning, it was dead on the ground. We kept that one.
Loretta, I don't remember what I read about the amounts that hummers eat, but it's phenomenal!
I'll say! I've had to refill my hummer feeder every 2 days! It's not leaking, either!
You're right, Lynn. I wouldn't be surprised at how much this/these female hummers ate because they rarely get a chance to dine w/out being divebombed!
Need to slug some water~~~
Loretta, Hope it's nothing!
Sprinkling a bit here. Still 80°.
I'm heading to bed...Goodnight and prayers for all!
Linda I read your comment about the
wood splitter. Oh my!! I remember those days well. Ed and I or is it Ed and me got a wood splitter when we first married.
It was hard work splitting and then loading to get to the area near the house but not too near it. Then the stacking began. We
also of course made a very huge stacked pile back by the wood splitter and covered it so it wouldn't get rain and snow on it.
Yep your going to feel it tomorrow.
I do have to say there was some playing around between the two of us during our breaks. That bring back a lot of good memories for me since my "love is gone".
So now I would have to say I wouldn't trade splitting wood for nothing ( :
Thanks Mema Jo for putting Candy's
comment from facebook on this blog.
For August yikes August Birthdays. Wasn't there any Anniversaries
in August?? I had one my first marriage but that is in the delete/trash can lol
Judie you and Darth are going to be interviewed by Lori. Oh boy....can't wait to hear this
wonderful interview of two of the nicest people I have met.
Lori tell your Mother hello and prayers continue for her. Have a safe trip.
Poke week - Especially to those who have not been properly trained in its use, poke weed should be
considered dangerous and possibly deadly.
For many decades, poke salad has been a staple of southern U.S. cuisine, despite campaigns by
doctors who believed poke weed remained toxic even after being boiled. Nonetheless, some parts can be used as food, medicine or poison. In a traditional
Cherokee recipe for fried poke stalks, young stalks are harvested while still tender, peeled to remove most of the toxin, washed, then cut into pieces and
Fried like okra with cornmeal.
One it is poison and two birds will be eating those berries and there will be "poop shoots of purple everywhere; ramp, rails, steps, chairs, and my car,
oh and the sides of my WHITE house. OUT OF THE GROUND
IT COMES TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!
I finally got a thing that holds a
hose and got it fixed to the faucet. Then I watered the plants and the hose kept getting kinks in it. Had to keep walking over the ground back to undo the kinks. Which about killed my hands.
Oh why did I plant anything. Most of the stuff can be watered off the decks and the ramp. Of
course they didn't put the faucet in the best of places for me. Most people would be ok with it
where it is. Oh well...can't hurt forever :(
I looked up and told Ed, "Ed you better be helping me this is killing me". I was done watering and trying to wrap the hose by turning the handle. Which still is not easy. Of course it started sprinkling. Well I just started
laughing out loud.

Heading for the shower then before bed putting up feet up for a little while in the recliner.
Gods Prayers for all those in need whether a person or one of Gods creatures.
Judie, I thought about you and Darth when I saw a big sign advertising the Night Out Against Crime event in Spotsylvania County.
Will be listening for you tomorrow morning. What time?
Ha, thought that poke weed looked familiar...I have it along the fence behind my shed!
Right here with you along with everyone else Loretta....
hope maybe you can find out a little more BEFORE six months' time
Good Evening Eagle Pals
Good Night Lynn and anyone else headed to bed and
Lynn, sure hope you feel QUITE RIGHT in the morning
Glad T-Bird made it through the dentist appointment, nice to know good old Tom (what another Tom ???) is a handsome dude and a Sweetheart as well !!
Yay Lori and Judie and Darth! Way to go, good idea Judie.
Still raining here :)
Hoda
I think you thanked me for something I can't take credit for, some info about the NX's flight feathers, but you are welcome anyway! ☺
that does have a nice ring...
Neat little terminal with a museum effect with all kinds of neat things
James just enjoys riding around and seeing different things, and so do I !
Kind of answered your question before I read your post Hoda ☺
Wow, pretty warm up your way...
sorry to read that Lolly and the gang have to cut short their trip one day due to tropical storm Don...
very happy to read that Candy's eye surgery seems to have gone okay
thanks to all the Momsters and Dadsters that share these important news views ♥
It sounds like a wonderful two days MARGY...He is a curious youngster...young man rather.
Hoda
I do not know...
Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
Thanks Hoda, regarding James...
he's a little kid and a young man at the same time, but he sure does get a kick out of a lot of neat things..history, science, nature
LOL Lowreeda, yup, we need some business folk in there!
Margy, sounds like a nice couple of days for you with James...enjoy!
Nick says woof woof!
Shirley,
hope the two little squirrel tykes will be okay, glad that Susan is going to take them
LOL Paula!
James is still up and he says
Woof Woof back to Nick ☺
LOL Margy, I woofed at Nick and scared him, he was snoozin' ☺
Speaking of that sandman...I gotta hit it...gotta get up early for inventory tomorrow.
Shirley, cute comment about the pinky squirrels. Bet they are cute!
Night Margy and Hoda, and anyone else who hasn't hit the hay yet!
(((Hugs for all♥)))
And g'nite James!
Good night all my friends - May any cares and worries you have - Vanish!
Good Night and Peace be with you
May you dream of eagles flying high
Hugs for all ♥♥♥♥♥♥
It is that time, to say Good Night, to wish everyone Sweet and Restorative Sleep
and to offer prayers for wellness and safety....
Thanks, everyone, for all the information shared here....
God Bless Us, Every One
xoxo ♥
Little squirrels are on my blog. They are so very tiny. They say the lady at Mt. Vernon is good with pinkies.
Very tired. I will see you tomorrow. Rest well, everyone.
Wow Shirley - tiny - I'd say minute!
I sure hope they make it!
To all who have said Goodnight I wish you all sweet dreams and God's Blessings.
I will be up a bit longer and will check back in before I go to sleep.
Hi, Everyone,
Getting here pretty late again!
Most of the plants have died because of their assult
Tomatoes, and pepperw are doing well, as are the green beans:)
Saturday is GG's 91st birthday and we will all be going to China City Buffet and watch her eat her crab legs, tomorrow evening. Will have her a cake for dessert when we all get back home...tummies will probably be too full for cake:)
Good Night my friends,
Prayers for all
sleep well
Shirley, nice about the baby squirrel rescue.
So, really
need to say goodnight. Sleep well.
Oh, Shirley,
Those baby squirrels are indeed tiny!
Andy pleased that the work on transcripts is going well for you
Shirley they are so very little, my oh my!!!
Wanda I hope the celebrations tomorrow go well, full tummies or not, there is always room for Birthday cake.LOL
Goodnight everyone. Sweet Dreams and God Bless.
Hello most wonderful Eagle Family!
Hoping for two eagles in the nest today.
Love and blessings to EACH & EVERY ONE of you!
Hello again... brushing up on all my National Night Out information for the big interview this morning!
It's getting light at the nest. Still waiting for my fellow Early Birds to check in. Hoping THELMA survived the dentist yesterday morning and that KAY is feeling well rested.
Good morning, Lori, and anyone else who might be here.
Hi Shirley!!! What are you doing up so early?
I just woke up and was curious about the Darth and Judie interview, the baby squirrels, and, of course, our eagles.
Kathryn gets up abut 5:30. I hear her now.
I'm hoping Hunter will sleep in for awhile. Yesterday, he was up early.
Bless you Shirley! No sign of Belle and Truder yet.
Shirley, what is Darth's real name?
Color on the nest...so pretty.
Oh, Andy, I saw a news report about a coyote killing a little dog. Probably the same one you are talking about. It said that people are taking items to fend off the coyotes.
Color in the nest!
Darth's real name is Frank, Lori.
Yes, now I remember, but wouldn't have without your prompting. Thanks Shirley.
I have a picture of Frank and Judie on my blog.
Frank
Frank and Judie
Thank YOU Shirley!
Well, we've passed sunrise...
SUNSET TONIGHT @ 8:22.
Good morning my eagle peeps.
Hi THELMA -
How did you do at the dentist yesterday and are you recovered?
Good morning, Thelma.
Glad the dentist's appointment was not so bad, Thelma.
Asleep early, awake in the middle of the night, then slept til 7. Can't wait for my body to adjust!!!
Good morning, friends!
Good morning, DanaMo. I think I may be going back to sleep for awhile.
Good Morning Dana MO!
Still have a dog at your feet?
THELMA, glad to hear you survived the dentist easier than you expected.
Love Ya
This morning it's Java at my side. Boomer is on the couch asleep and oh so cute!
I'm very ready to get on a regular sleep schedule again. Thanks everyone.
Check out the pictures on my DanaMo picture blog "In my pool this morning...what is it? Can anyone tell me what was hanging on for dear life in my pool? Oh and I also posted Annemarie and her surfing experience.
It's a nature morning for me...I just had a hummingbird at my deck! Wish I had a feeder, but I can't find it.
DANA-MO, AWESOME pictures of AnneMarie. Give her a high 5 or whatever is hip now! LOL!
As for what's in your POOL - is it a groundhog? Looks like it could be a young groundhog.
Goundhog, maybe? I've pulled dead ones out before that didn't have hair and thought they were opossums. But it could be a groundhog.
How are you this morning? Looks like I missed everyone by getting up at 7:00!
Thanks THELMA I hope I get on a regular schedule soon.
Good Morning Eagle Sistas!!
I'm outta here. May you all make a good day. See you all on the flip side.
DanaMO - It does look like a baby groundhog!! How cute!!
AnneMarie and the boys did great at Luna Beach with their surfing! They must have been plum worn out after that day. Now they are going to want to go back there every summer!
Good morning!
Awake and headed for some coffee. Need to be alert this morning. Sure hope we don't mess up with Lori. This will be a new experience.
BBL
Laguna Beach, I meant!!!
I think I need another cup of coffee!
JUDIE you and Frank will be great!
Hi LINDA! We agree on the baby groundhog. I have the chubbiest GH at home. They're vegetarians, so he must be my child! OH, maybe he is a she and will have baby groundhogs someday.
Just a note of WARNING for everyone here in the local nest area and around DC.
CODE ORANGE AIR QUALITY TODAY...
HEAT ADVISORY FROM 11am - 9pm. THE "FEELS LIKE" TEMP WILL BE UP TO 109, WITH THE HIGHEST READINGS ALONG AND EAST OF THE 1-95 CORRIDOR.
ALLERGIES? MEDIUM POLLEN LEVELS TODAY INCREASING THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
Have a great day everyone!
Stay safe, healthy and cool.
Check on any elderly neighbors and relatives.
Missed some EARLY BIRDS this morning: KAY, MARGY, JUDYE. You all have weekend duty. Kidding!!!
@ Linda-My Adam was trying to get his Uncle to agree to let him come and live in California. The kids absolutely loved it.
Me, well I didn't like the traffic.
Gotta get ready for the fence guy. Just woke up from a short nap. BBL.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Friday!!
Bye Lori. Safe trip to PA.
Sure hope the pinkies make it. Bless the rehabers who are so dedicated.
Wanda, need to read back but seems GG has some relief and you also. Really good news.
Welcome back, DanaMo. Just let your body take its own time.
Thelma, so happy you survived the dentist.
Shirley, happy fence day! Stay inside and watch. Too oppressive to be outside.
Off for another cup of coffee. Wishing everyone a lovely day.
Good Morning Eagle Pals....
Wow, cannot wait until Sunday at 7:30, WASH AM with the Lori, Frank and Judie interview !!!
Fantastic Links to the picture and article of Frank, and the fabulous picture of Shirley, Judie and Frank

Wanda
best wishes for an A#1 evening with GG and the Crab Legs, and all the wonderful people that will be there with you.
May you all be up to your elbows in good food and fellowship ♥
Good morning one and all.
Must wake the little guy up and pack for the trip to the Beach...ha ha, the Beach at Swinging Bridge ☺....
I expect to find Cardinal Flower blooming along the banks of Back Creek today !
Hedgie....I hope you are feeling much better today... ((Hugs ♥ ))
Best Wishes, for a Good, Safe, Healthy and Joyful Day, Everyone
Miss you guys, will be more talkative in a day or so...
xoxox ♥
God Bless Us, Every One
Good Morning Eagle Friends and Lurkers ( :
Poke Weed it was those flowers this morning after watering last night. Was nice big purple berries.
POKE WEED ALL GONE!!!! Made sure I had a plastic bag held it up turned all the stems into bag. Then laid bag on ground. Since I watered last night. Ground around weed nice and easy to dig. Got the root ball. Still poured clorox in.
Filled in and then used the nice dark earth from bag to put some grass there.
I CAN'T THANK ALL OF YOU ENOUGH!! I CAME TO THE BLOG BUT I STAYED BECAUSE OF FRIENDS LIKE YOU ALL. ( :
HAGD all and I'll TTUL ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Margy, please don't stay out in the heat TOO long today---even in the water....it will really sap you. Hello to James from me, too!
Yea, DanaWV---poke weed GONE! Bad weeds!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SWEET GG!!!!
Thelma----never fear....the SB invasion will be starting in a month or so. UGH! Just seeing a few baby ones off and on---but all outside for now.
Good Morning Friends - happy to get on here before the SPLIT.
Have another FUN day with James, Margy.
I wish you had a cool place to visit -
Lori sent out a wonderful account of
the Weather today-hot - hotter - hottest
LYNN - hope you feel great this morning
JUDIE - anxious to hear the interview!
Great that you gave Lori a headsup!
Wow, 30 yrs. ago today was Di and Charles' wedding....and the day that Carolyn flew to FL all by herself to visit with my sister! She was just under 9 yrs. old!!
Of course, the flight attendants tended her well!
Hi,
Fence guy came and we walked around the property and talked.
