As soon as the heat leaves I will get the birds back. they are too smart to live in this heat. The grapes are ripe and they love them. they fight the squirrles to eat them.
Brandon had a ball. I started to limp about 1/2 way through it and my son went and got a wheel chair for me. I was embarrassed but he was being so sweet I couldnt refuse. It really helped.I probably wont get that knee replacement until I get back from WV.
Whioa- wicked split... I can be pretty sneaky, Mits.. Glad to hear your planta are blooming fine, Dana. We have so many hummers this year, more than ever it seems.
I have been lazy long enough this morning. I havent even made my bed let alone cleaned the kitchen. I'm going to turn on some music and get to it before I get company and I am ashamed of how the place looks. BBL
Hello Ladies... Doesn't look like anyone is on right now. Just stopped at the Va. Beach Visitors Center and saw this 'puter...thought I say Hi! Had a beautiful trip down here. Got stopped for about an hour on I95 because of an accident, but otherwise, a really pretty drive. We take 17 most of the way. Have a good evening. ((HUGS))
Zoo Atlanta’s Panda Cam will focus on giant pandas Yang Yang and Mei Lan from 10 AM to 5 PM until further notice. Zoo officials will provide regular updates several times a day on the status of Lun Lun and her cub, including, when available, photos and video clips.
Hey, Dana...Premier Physical Therapy had a small pool at their Berkeley Springs location, and a really small one at the Martinsburg place. B.S. closed; Mtbg. moved out of small bldg. on Tavern Rd. into the large bldg. where either the Surgi-Center is or on the end where Centers for Orthop. Excellence is....don't know if they put a pool in that new location or not. Worth checking into.
LATEST UPDATE: Wednesday, September 3, 5:00 PM Lun Lun and her cub are doing well. Brief exams of the cub at 9:30 AM and 1:15 PM today indicate that he is maintaining his body temperature and steadily gaining weight. At the afternoon check he was 134.8 grams. Lun Lun continues to tolerate the cub’s removal, but responds quickly and appropriately when he is reintroduced. Veterinary staff continues to administer antibiotics to both as a precautionary measure. Dwight Lawson, PhD Senior Vice President, Collections, Education & Conservation
Our nest does look like the sides are being built up nicely! And it is nice to have our still cam back...thanks Steve and John and anyone else who did the job!
We did NOT find the refuge site that supposedly had the bald eagle. I was disappointed but I have to research the location a little more. We got a good tour of the mountains!!
Okay, I am going to preface this with - I know, I need a life. I just looked back through the blogs and on September 3, 2006, we had 1267 comments. I blogged the first time on April 7, 2006. Boy the memories in reading some of that stuff and people on there that I had forgotten about. Wonder where they are now?
So I started April 2006 also - at least to blog. I found the cam just because I was looking for a Bird Watching class for Jennifer. I know your friend Ozzie put you onto the cam.
So on Sept 3 2006 How many days worth of comments were there.... Like where did Steve go for that Labor Day Weekend?
I posted first on March 30, 2006. Think the only other one I saw who had posted was someone named Beth by that point anyway. May have missed someone. That was the beginning of a very life changing experience for sure.
They say that Brisbane has had a rather cool summer so far (Colder then usual) They are just not sure F & F are going to use the nest on their ledge.......
I'm am trying to find my first time on the blog... Not even sure I was Mema Jo then--- I know I had sent in Belle tenting over the little ones in a rain storm.
Hi all! Excuse me while I groan! Ohhhhhhh!! LOL We had a WONDERFUL break in the weather today. High was in the upper 70's. Jack and I worked in the yard all day. I am sooooo tired! But, it was so great! We did not get any rain, but boy the wind has been blowing.
So, excited about the baby panda. Looks like all is going well. Such a good momma!!
Jack and I talked this evening about going to the open house. Looks like we might make it. Wahoo! You can all chip in and help pay for our gas!!! ONLY KIDDING!!!!!
Need to go take care of dinner. Tonight Salmon croquettes with green onion sauce. How does that sound?
I'm still looking back into the 2006 blog - We sure didn't know about and use the blog much at all - if any!
Blogger Glo said... Hey Thanks for this whole sight. I just discovered the BLOG this morning. I have been busy eagle watching and didn't see the link before now. I am having a wonderful time with the eagles and now the BLOG too. Cool. Thanks so much!! Friday, March 31, 2006 9:47:00 AM
Some of the group may wish to do the train on that Sunday... I thought it was about 2 hrs - so the 10:00 ride you would need to be out of Shepherdstown between 7:30 & 8:00.
Hi Everyone. Sneaking on here late, so glad to read of Baby Panda Boy's progress...and to see that the Cam is back in business. Now, we can anticipate those early morning sightings! THELMA - we will need your and Buddy's MAGIC GAZE to bring things to life in the morning....
Dana - I am checking now...and can't get to them either! she might have done a blue thingy link on one of her past posts...will go check and be back on shortly....
I had seen them on her site before, but not now....
Yes - On Sunday night late, Wanda had posted them on Wanda's Wishes and commented that she was then going to paste them onto sites or locations for the rest of the family so I think that is where they disappeared to.
DANA - I think she will be able to re-post them as Mema says..we'll just have to wait a few days for it !
If there is a difference between a Sea Eagle and a White Tail Eagle then that was a White Tail Eagle in the Finny over the water nest. Guess we need to research that.... The other Finny nest referred to the White Tailed Eagle that took the Osprey Chick.
Put my nose in a book after dinner. Also, was watching a few of the speeches tonight.
Got on in time to catch the ferry. You on Jo?
We have the house open tonight. I just love it! Can go to sleep listening for an owl.
Parking my trailer in Megan's garden? I'll go for that! I am sure however, Megan would not! LOL We will probably make reservations at Harper's Ferry KOA.
Hey There Lolly! Nope-missed it again. It has been traveling too fast for me. First you see it then you don't then when you do it's out of the picture in the next split second! lol
We have been there before. Toured the area several years ago going to Civil war sites. This was long before all of you and eagle watching! Never knew what I was missing!
Jo, tell me about the train ride. Also, I am sure you will be letting us know what is scheduled. When we get there I will not even know where to go. LOL
Well, fowl friends, think I'll head for the tub. Been a long day, but a good one...time spent w/ old friends, plus with you "new" friends, good food, etc., but a horrible allergy attack this evening.....sneezed about 50 times and have had a BAD headache, and gone through almost half a box of tissues. Antihistamine finally kicked in, but I am drained! Good night all. Prayers and blessing. Wake up, Mason!

Sept. 2, 2008: It's not over yet! At least one Osprey chick is still hanging around the nest (see photo at right, taken today). We believe the 2 adults and its 3 siblings may have already departed on their southbound migration.
Looks like the cam is down today...but it was working yesterday!
Guess I misinterepted your comment "I hear the Golden's tease them" Thought you meant you can hear them. This southern boy is thick skulled sometimes. lol
sorry, Red, I should have said, I heard from my zoo source, that the Golden's tease the sloths, actually he said they torture them....I did not know til today they they were part of the exhibit
Pure luck that I just happened to open page at the very right moment, Helen!! Hardly ever that lucky. I really thought it was a good view.....guy on the right so stern-looking, and the one on the left just looks kind of fluffy and disconcerted!!
Wow, looks like time for SPLITSVILLE! Good Eagle/Panda Day Everyone. See No see of baby panda & Lun. Oh well, can read the updates. Have a great day!!!

seen her on here for a while...
How was the your little excursion today?
I sure she knows. When it comes to pandas Chrissy keeps up with the news. Hope all is well with her.
We did NOT find the refuge site that supposedly had the bald eagle. I was disappointed but I have to research the location a little more.
We got a good tour of the mountains!!
wish i was a panda
Also got some good home grown apples, peaches and plums!
Wish I could see a panda cub....
I would also like to see 2 eagles in our nest........ NOW!

Sorry you did not find it. Sounds like a good trip for fruits. Love this time of year for apples.
Wish they would show the cub even for a few hours. Hope to see eagles tonight also. We don't want much.

I can't remember what I had for lunch, yesterday....think I first posted sometime in June 2006????
raindrops are falling in Brisbane.
Mine was April 2006
When I go to the Profile page it tells me when I first joined..
deer in PA
They say that Brisbane has had a rather cool summer so far (Colder then usual) They are just not
sure F & F are going to use the nest on their ledge.......
I first blogged on April 11, 2006. My Birthday!
I don't have a profile page anymore.
This was Australia's coldest August on Record.
Gotta go eat, I'm starving!
well that would be a shame...no F&F
WHoo Hoo I bet you won't forget that date, Paula.
I remember you took your profile down, Mits.
I'm am trying to find my first time on the blog... Not even sure I was Mema Jo then--- I know I had sent in Belle tenting over the little ones in a rain storm.

OK So on 4/3/06 I sent in 2 photos that Steve posted..... However, I
didn't comment until April 10th -

Mits- your profile is set to private...
I see the raccoons in the woods.....
I watched the cam for over a month before I knew about the blog...only found out about it because Steve put a link on the cam page...
Did you see there was a Lolly from NY that posted?
Megan - this is going to be a BIG one
Lolly - would love to meet you and Jack!
I got them Mits Thanks.....
When I first saw Lolly back in 2006
I thought "Well she never said she was on here!" Then I saw the NY
Some of those I just never heard of - Wonder if they watch anymore.
Maybe it was Beth from right there in Shepherdstown.....
MEGAN
How long did it take you and Robyn to drive up to Romney last year for the train ride?
I think about hour 45 minutes. At first you're on highway, then it's a long windy road the rest of the way.
Some of the group may wish to do the train on that Sunday... I thought it was about 2 hrs - so the 10:00 ride you would need to be out of Shepherdstown between 7:30 & 8:00.
yes, Paula, I know:)
darn missed the racoons....
OC boardawalk is looking a little thinned out
here come the racoons:)
that is one fat racoon
Good evening all. It has been so good remembering those early days! :)
Did you all know that when I was in Charlottesville in 2006, I received a dozen roses from Spunky, Big Boy and Ms. InBetween? It was so awesome!
aww, what nice juvies they were:)
off to watch HGTV....bbialw
Yes they were absolutely the best
raccoon gone...
Couldn't get any better!!!!
Where were you when you got little Tai?
Hi Everyone. Sneaking on here late, so glad to read of Baby Panda Boy's progress...and to see that the Cam is back in business. Now, we can anticipate those early morning sightings!
THELMA - we will need your and Buddy's MAGIC GAZE to bring things to life in the morning....
One Osprey at WildWatch cam...
xoxo
I was at home when I got Tai!! I think he arrived right after I got home from UVA.
Grateful prayers that our Nilla's family got through the hurricane okay....
and so nice to get that little exposure to Wanda today...
Racoon party at Pix Pa
Margy when I go to Wanda's site I still can't find the birthday pics.
Can you go on her site and see if you can find them please?
HI Margy! How was your 12 hr day?
Dana - I am checking now...and can't get to them either! she might have done a blue thingy link on one of her past posts...will go check and be back on shortly....
I had seen them on her site before, but not now....
curious !
Hi Mema - -
It was droll....
Spent hours working on getting information on putting 14 spools of stolen electrical cable into the Crime Index for Stolen articles! But they're in!
Back Soon xox
I also checked all 3 of her blogs BUT they have disappeared.
Guess we'll need to wait for her return. Wanda probably isn't aware of it either!
She didn't put a link, Margie - we know to just click on her avatar......
It is mysterious that they are gone....
xo
NO chicks at WildWatch now, but a deer has encroached upon the racoons at Pix PA
Thank you because I have been checking "all" day for those pics.
There's a bunch of pics missing from Wanda's blog...they were there...
Ferry boat at Finneys, left to right....
I heard them! They were saying GOOD NIGHT JO !
Time for this old bird to roost, got to get up early to look for Eagles!
Good Night Everyone....
Take Care, and Prayers...xox
Watching Palin's speech on TV at the convention.. BBILW
Whoops! A very large deer in the woods. I wonder where our lame leg deer ever got to.........
something is in the Finland nest
sea eagle:)
maybe a white-tail eagle???
Thanks, Mits, he/she's beautiful
Night time to hit the hay
that is one pretty birdie
lots of boat traffic in Finland this a.m.
keeps looking around, maybe other eagle is on its way
Wish you could zoom in on the refreshed picture there...I keep getting the old one from 6:14
Beautiful site at Finney water! Ferry and Bird!!
That ferry really goes fast!
Aha, you have to let it refresh while it's zoomed in,,,duh, forgot that!
Birdie gone....
all gone...took off
Hey Hedgie!
Well, folks, gonna hit it...see ya in the AM
it has a white tail....so is that still a sea eagle or white tail eagle like the one that stole the chick in the other Finland nest
If there is a difference between a Sea Eagle and a White Tail Eagle then
that was a White Tail Eagle in the Finny over the water nest.
Hi Paula! Bye Paula!
Lolly, so great you are coming!
Jo, have you heard anything from Diane lately?
Hey There Lolly! Nope-missed it again. It has been traveling too fast for me. First you see it then you don't then when you do it's out of the picture in the next split second! lol
Harpers Ferry sounds good!
Harpers Ferry is beautiful:)
I emailed Diane just last week... No

Iris cannot attend - she has the family affair out of state.
Vicky has not yet been able to make
her decision.
So glad I finally saw the ferry!!
We have been there before. Toured the area several years ago going to Civil war sites. This was long before all of you and eagle watching! Never knew what I was missing!
Hope Deb checks in tonight - Going to be good to meet her next month!
Come on, Vicki!! We miss you!
Thanks, Jo!
Too bad that ferry can't go pick up Chrissy and bring her across the pond!!
Jo, tell me about the train ride. Also, I am sure you will be letting us know what is scheduled. When we get there I will not even know where to go. LOL
Wouldn't that be great if Chrissy could come?!
head for the Comfort Inn in Sheperdstown,.....eagle party:)
Don't worry, Lolly...we won't let you get lost!!
I already tried w/ Chrissy! Sounds like health and finances just won't let her do it this year. Boo....
We are going to have to start making our plans. We leave the
15th for the coast. Will be gone a week.
Lolly - I'll email you info once everything is settled......

Good morning, everyone. It is a nice sunny morning here, although the temp is a cool 46 here. We are headed to the low 70's. Last week we were seeking as much shade as possible, this week we want to be in the sun.
Happy Birthday, Iris. I hope you have a great day!!
Morning, all!
Deb, are you gonna change your reservation and stay at the party hotel??
I can't Paula, when I did my reservations I chose the non-refundable price at $15 a night less than the regular price. I thought all the rooms in Shepardstown were full, so I didn't even check there.
I am off to Yankton, TTUL.
have a good one, Deb.
I never realized on the Golden Tamarin cam at the zoo, there are 2 sloths.....1 male 1 female, and I hear the Golden's tease them
I have NO sound on the Golden Taramin cam.
CT Osprey cam update -
Sept. 2, 2008:
It's not over yet!
At least one Osprey chick is still hanging around the nest (see photo at right, taken today). We believe the 2 adults and its 3 siblings may have already departed on their southbound migration.
Looks like the cam is down today...but it was working yesterday!
Bird at BWO - crow, maybe
there is no sound, Red, only on the panda cam
Guess I misinterepted your comment "I hear the Golden's tease them" Thought you meant you can hear them. This southern boy is thick skulled sometimes. lol
sorry, Red, I should have said, I heard from my zoo source, that the Golden's tease the sloths, actually he said they torture them....I did not know til today they they were part of the exhibit
Happy Birthday, Iris!!
Morning all!
I sent a great pic of Finney over the water nest w/ two lovely visitors from last night to yahoo group mail! Check it out!!
great pic, Lynn:)
SPLIT, coming up...
Happy Birthday, Iris!!
I hope you have a wonderful day!
