Bringing this over from the old thread as it was the last post there.
Hi Costume Lady ! Glad to hear you like Columbus---it's kind of a sprawling, overgrown farm town that has developed a lot of charm. It's really a great place to live and to raise children. I'm familiar with the Asian Buffet, but haven't eaten there--I'm on the far north side of Columbus and that's kind of out of my usual range. Based on what you've said, I just may take my "kids" for a ride out there someday soon. We all love Chinese food ! Thanks !
Good afternoon everyone ! Happy to know know the cam problem is being addressed.
I had looked to see if OC had posted anyhting about the cam......and see that there is a mission afoot for a "new camera campaign fund". Wonder if all those folks are going to send money?
FuzzleMA - your kitties are gorgeous! Fuzzle looks a lot like our Mishka. Where in Andover are you? I spent a huge part of the last year up there working on a client implementation. Stayed at the Courtyard off River Rd and was working over in Brickstone Square (near intersection of 133 and 28)
Thanks for the CRC link, Hedgie. Not a great time to begin watching, I guess, so sad.
Did you catch my early morning comment on goulash ? I said I'd be making it today, but forgot I have a condo assc. mtg at a Panera's meeting room tonight. I'll just grab a bite there, but goulash will be on the menu here soon !
checking in to click email box we are still under severe warning so bye again A lull in the storm at moment hope if will be over soon 79 thousand people no elec me I guess I'm lucky Where my daughter is no power they had a small tornado go over them this shit is scary Later I off
KayIM.....I'm sure pasta will work fine when you get around to making your goulash! We used pasta and added tomato sauce to make beefaroni----which, of course, in school days we always referred to as barfaroni!!!
Hedgie, is "barfaroni" the same thing I see on school menues today, called "Johnny Marzetti" ? Where the heck did that name come from ? I understand the Columbus Marzetti Dressings family claims to have nuttin' to do with it.
Hopefully that $2500 reward will produce a response in NC. Purely a malicious act on the part of some demented soul. They clearly did not want the eagle, or got scared off before they could lay their hands on it. What a sad time this is in Eagledom.
SusanP: Is Mishka your avatar? She (he?)DOES look a lot like my Ruckus! Same coloring, same eyes. Fuzzle is my black and white. I've had both as my avatar earlier today. Just moved to Andover last July from Salem MA and I am VERY close to the Shawsheen River. It is normally what we would call a creek in western PA where I'm from originally, but I saw it swell to a RIVER this past month with the snow melt. YEP, I packed an overnite bag just in case even though I AM upstream from any threat!
FuzzleMA - my avatar right now is Taz (will log into my acct and change photo to Mishka in a minute) We have 9 cats so cycling them all thru my avatar will take a while
KayIM----I haven't heard of the Marzetti thing......will ask my granddaughters!!! The barfaroni came about in my day because the school version was SO awful!
While walking this morning, I had the bear cam up. Watched Hope play with the Jason and Faith. Soooo cute! Lily has it made with her built in cubsitter. I know I have said this before but....I wanna bear cub!! LOL Jack tells me NO. Geee, what a meanie!
I just melt when I see those cute little bear paws.
Robyn, have you ever seen bears in your woods? Just wondering!
They're saying no obvious signs of physicla trauma to the eaglet. I'm also wondering why Savannan and Derek haven't been at the nest much. Maybe because people were in there and they're skittish? It's another cold and damp day here, I wish she'd get in there and warm up the other little guy :(
Lolly, We have a bear - probably 1-2 years old that comes right up on our deck outside the glass doors by the kitchen. He even walks along the wooden rail. Dennis says he's only about 200lbs!! ONLY! He is after the bird seed and suet we have on the deck. He will take that shepherd's hook and bend it like it is a straw and eat the whole suet cake!
We have to throw rocks at him to scare him back into the forest, but he visits us quite often!! He's not afraid of us either. Fortunately, he doesn't seem to be aggressive.....yet.
Candled my eggs again today. It looks like we may get more than the 2 I originally thought we would get. Saw alot of veins and some dark spots today that indicate developing chicks. Maybe I will get as many as 11 which makes me very happy.
Good Afternoon finally getting to comment. Been chasing gackles all morning so I said the heck with it and took the feeder down just now.
I buy the good bird seeds has NO CORN...can't figure out why all of a sudden I am getting gackles like crazy. Won't let my other birds eat. Not even the woodpeckers.
Sorry about the one chick of Savannan and Derek's. They need to keep this one warm. I keep hoping one will fly down and cover it for warmth.
Hello Eagle friends, old and new. Haven't posted in a while. Been busy just keeping up with the blog. I want to thank everyone who kept notes, went out to the nest and generally kept an even head through all this chain of events. This was certainly the last thing I would ever expected to happen. Just goes to show how little we know about eagles. I think someone should write a paper detailing all that has happened in the last two weeks. Unfortunately we do not have onsite biologists like some of the other sites that are dedicated to the eagles and this occurance would be of interet. There is not too much documentation as we have all found out in our search for answers and understanding.
Sisssy, hope your recovery speeds up ans the pain dissipates NOW!
Lynn, how are you? Know these past weeks have been hard.
For everyone else hope your physical and emotional need are met by the one who heals.
I have a prayer request. My friend Tara's father is on a ventilator, last stages of cancer. I am praying for peace for them both. We stayed with him when we went to New York last year. He was really good to us.
did you notice that there are over 50 th views on the Decorah cam Boy was this weather a rough one in a lull now Where my daughter works a tornado went over her boss house as damage some of my friend also have damage I posted pic on my face book page of the several tornado in the area Right now my grand daughter is down for a nap and I thought I would check out the other nest since this cam is down Whats Up? Ok I hear the rumbling again This will never end They said they haven't seen storms like this in 5-7 years on the news My daughter has no power at her job so no work waiting on her to come over. CRC Eaglet Passes Away HUNTERSVILLE: Carolina Raptor Center staff reported today that one of Savannah and Derek’s two eaglets has passed away. The eaglets were born on the weekend of March 4-6 and have been growing steadily since that time. Staff, volunteers and EagleCam regulars have been avidly watching the eaglets progress and are expressing great sadness at the loss of the eaglet.
CRC rehabilitation staff and volunteers have been monitoring the eaglets daily since hatching. The eaglets have been receiving full portions of food, and Savannah and Derek have been observed feeding each of them normally.
“We noticed that the bird was not visible in the camera when we arrived this morning and have since entered the aviary and determined that the second eaglet has died,” said Mathias Engelmann, CRC’s resident eagle expert and senior rehabilitation coordinator. “There were no visible signs of trauma, and the body has been removed.” Medical staff at the center will try to determine the cause of death over the next few days.
A health check was performed today on the remaining eaglet, and it appears to be healthy and growing normally.
Carolina Raptor Center’s nesting eagles Savannah and Derek have laid and hatched eggs since 2006, with four eaglets being released into the wild over the past five years. Carolina Raptor Center is dedicated to environmental stewardship and the conservation of birds of prey through education, research and the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned raptors.
Carolina Raptor Center located inside Latta Plantation Nature Preserve 6000 Sample Road Huntersville, NC 28078
PA-Lynn, you will find that the people here are unique. You don't usually find so many people with the same qualities all in one place but you have now. Enjoy!
Thanks, Sharon, for the update. Guess since the remaining eaglet was handled, parents may be a bit leery.....but I'm sure the people wore gloves, so everything should be okay in a little while-----I hope!
Dana, Lynn, yes that is a rabbit in the Decorah nest. Dad brought it into the nest yesterday afternoon, I don't believe they have started eating it yet. There are 3 eggs in the nest. Yesterday, I thought I saw a pip hole in the middle egg.
Christine, when you said mom and dad are back on the nest, which nest were you referring to? I do not see parents on Savanah's nest, where chick 1 died this morning. Chick 2 is lanquishing in nest, no one is caring for him.
Liz, I tried to go back and delete that comment, but no trash can. They both showed up for a minute, looked at him/her and left again. I feel bad. I don't want to watch another eaglet die :( :(
For those that haven't watched eagles for very long, in regards to the remaining chick at CRC...this is a period of resting and eating...and I know they do move around, and probably more so when there are two in the nest, but don't panic it you don't always see the eaglet moving....they do rest a lot as they are still clumsy...but the parents also don't have to spend the time in the nest keeping them warm...and they are too big to brood.
They just got finish zooming into Decorah nest. Yes there is defintely a pip in one of the eggs. I watched when she moved it the fluff fell away but the black spot stayed.
OK, Lolly!! You're welcome anytime!! As soon as the bear starts visiting I'll let you know.
Sometimes he comes very early in the morning (spring and summer), walks all along the back deck rail looking for the feeders, which aren't out yet. Then he goes to the feeder we keep for the birds in the middle of the back yard.
It's an old satellite dish from directv (LOL) on a stand. He pushes it over and then lays on the ground and eats up all the seeds he knocks over. So funny!
I think they are still working on it...pic on live feed is not moving at all...do like the color....but the still cam still shows everything all fuzzy...
I am back still storming but not bad How are all of you Not able to read any blog today because of the storms, and tornadoes I love the new cam I have never been able to see any color at all always BW on my end Is it new? did they replace it?
Gee, can we get a camera like the one Decorah (and NBG for that matter) have, along with someone who watches and adjusts it like they do? It's a huge difference in picture and sound quality, even without the moderation. White Rock is another location with great cams (the close-up and wide range) though I don't think they move the view there at all.
JudyE - I went to Florida Southern College in Lakeland and know where that airport is that got hit so bad today. It looks horrible on the radar. Do be safe!! Hope it clears soon!
Lynn, what amazes me is Blackwater....eaglets 1 and 2 are considerable bigger than eaglet 3. #1 and #2 started their blood feathers at least 10 days ago, if not 2 weeks. #3, you can barely see the start of his.
I love the Decorah cam. If you go full screen it's like sitting in the nest with the eagle. Very close up. My avatar is now our Yorkie Rosie. She is our princess.
Sharon, sympathy for Tara and her family. So sorry.
CRC eaglet's death is sad, also. As we all do, I wish these events did not have to occur. When we watch the miracles of these birds, it is extremely distressing that someone would shoot an eagle.
Jo, try drinking a Bloody Mary.
PALynn, how cool to have a bear visit. I would be totally stunned and maybe a little nervous.
Will have a busy time ahead. Need to begin working on final exam questions, write a recommendation for one of my basketball players, and begin preparing some information for the students' second critical thinking assignment. Only 6 more class meetings and the semester is over. As most of my wannabe adults are graduating seniors, this is typically a time of high anxiety and drama.
Yeah Judy, the bear visit was REALLY scary the first time because my dog was only growling at the screen door. When I peeoped around to see what it was, the bear was about 3 feet from my face. I immediately closed the glass door and found my husband in the garden to warn him.
As long as we don't have "too close" of an encounter, it isn't too bad, but he comes back day after day for weeks! I'm a little afraid to be working outside for fear he might come up behind me!!
One night the bear came back after we thought we had scared him away for good that day. He came back after dark, broke into our shed where we had a 50lb bag of bird seed.
He was through almost half of it by the time my hubby found him!!!
we have bears here in Oakland MD and in my neighborhood too. We've had one on our deck a few times this year (saw the prints in the snow) looking for our feeders (we take them in at night).we were late getting them in about a week ago and at 8:45 pm heard a crack and knew immediately what had happened. Darn bear broke the feeder pole and took one of our feeders, but we scared him off so quickly he dropped it in the yard. We haven't actually seen him yet this year, tho last year we did several times
Our local blog had a link this week to an article where someone has had a bear sleeping on her deck the past few nights (leaning against her slider!!); she got a couple of pictures that were included. That is TOO close!
SusanP - We have to get the feeders in at or just before dark now that the weather is mostly above freezing, too.
Unfortunately, I think our return bear would like to hang out with us. The dog can bark, we can yell at him, go out there or whatever and he just looks up and continues lurking around!!
My husband will throw rocks that hit just by him (he wouldn't throw them to hit him) hoping to scare him off, but he only goes on the other side of the rock wall and then turns around and looks at us.....kind of like, is this far enough??
PA Lynn....haven't seen my bear in a few years....but he never got that up close and personal! I keep hoping he'll return so I can get pics now that I have a better camera.
Judie.....know you will be GLAD when the semester ends! It's been a rough go for you.
Not a breath of anything moving at the cam.....wonder if it really is "live"?? No wind here, but usually there is SOME there close to the river.
PA-Lynn - last summer we had put our feeders back out around 7:30 am and shortly after heard a clang and knew it had to be the bear. Grabbed our cameras and cracked the back screen door open to get pix and he sort of looked at us like 'I'm eating breakfast here', rolled the feeder, ate some seed, rolled the feeder... We got some pix, then banged on the siding andh e started off slowly as if to say "seriously? You not going to let me finish?"
To me, our nest image is definitely not as sharp...wonder if something went wrong with the HD...and they had to back off of it, resulting in better color but less definition?
Did a quick scan over this page. I'll never be able to read everything.
I agree. The image is more colorful, but not as sharp.
Bears--oh my! I do not want to encounter one in my yard. I might say, "It's me, bear" after I got safely into the house. But I might be too breathless to say anything.
Judie, I can imagine how busy you must be now. I have a letter of recommendation to write, a quiz to put together, and am in the middle of some strange grade dispute that brought a very confused e-mail from my supervisor.
The student is claiming that he made up all of his missing work and I must have lost it. Must be 20 assignments that mysteriously disappeared. Hmmm. It could be that kid is just not telling the truth.
Also had a young lady show up for class yesterday in an outfit more appropriate for, say, pole dancing than school. Geesh.
People in the area there, rescue team with dog, police, and animal rescue are all looking for the dog. Some have seen it. So it is in the area in Maryland. Terrier something mix.
It's snowing fairly steady here in Garrett County MD now. Supposed to get 1-3" but they said that last night too and only got a dusting so hopefully they are wrong again. I'm ready for spring!
For a nice slideshow of Lola & Kidd Opsrey in Milford, CT. under the big picture taken March 29 at 5:16pm is a smaller picture. That say's "Cick for Short slideshow". Here is the link again.
Hi Eaglefans! Haven't read a word yet, but will after din din. Day off consumed w/Dr. appt., store, small Panda nap, laundry, & vooking is almost done. Worked on editing some of our kitty pics---am starting to understand a little more about photo programs in this 'puter. Hope to fix up rest of Park pics soon to get on Blog!Maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel! (I still don't like Win 7!!!) LOL Have a good evening~~~BBL
Judie......remember when Shirley said that one of the resident 4-leggers had pulled papers out of her breifcase? NOW we know where those 20 assignments went!!! LOL, Shirley.....kidding you!
I am pretty sure the doggy attack on my briefcase was in the previous semester, so they didn't take the present kid's work.
Hey, Luna was counter-surfing again the other day. First time I had seen her do this since she had the recent eye problems. (Counter-surfing=when the dog launches onto two hind legs and searches for goodies on the kitchen counters.)
Basset hounds are really good at this. You think they are short because they are low-slung, but they are amazingly tall when they stand on their hind legs. They can steal and demolish a whole loaf of bread in no time. That is why I have a bread box.
I don't hear "the dog ate my homework." I hear "I know y9ou won't believe this but my computer crashed right when I pushed print." Hmmm. Well, did you consider printing the night before? Oh, I see, you hadn't actually finished the assignment until the moment you clicked print. Well, now I understand. What part of zero do YOU not understand?
Sorry for the snow, SusanP. Maybe it will just be a dusting this time. Hope so.
Okay, let me tell you my story about homework. I was in my first semester of college. We were supposed to be keeping a daily journal. When the day came to turn it in and I hadn't written one word on a piece of paper, this is the story I told.
It was winter time. I took my books to the car, started the car to warm up and went back into the house while. When I came out to get in the car, it was on fire, homework and books burned right up. She believed it. I try not to tell lies like that anymore.
When I was writing the conclusion to my thesis for my Master's Degree, the computer crashed.
It was about a week before the due date, and I had been working on the assignment for a semester. I had not backed it up electronically because the document was too big for one floppy disk.
Fortunately, I had backed it up with a printed document, and my professor kindly accepted the draft copy with the understanding I would type the whole thing over after I got my diploma. Yes, I did it. (It needed to be turned in to be placed in the college library.)

Thanks Jim and Steve. Just in time for my nap. lol
hedgie: At least the eaglet over at CRC is eating right now!
Thanks Jim for the call over, and thanks for the update, Steve.
Yes, I saw eaglet eating awhile ago as well.
Morning, Eagle-eye, Red, Lynn and group.
I kind of skimmed the earlier comments, but I didn't see a report of sightings in our nest this a.m.
But maybe the still cam isn't working either ... didn't check that yet.

That's an encouraging sign....

Jim, there was no sighting this morning. The last we've seen of Belle and Truder was early yesterday morning. :o(

Thanks for the fresh new thread Steve!

OK - now the pic is of Mishka
KayIM----I haven't heard of the Marzetti thing......will ask my granddaughters!!! The barfaroni came about in my day because the school version was SO awful!
I haven't posted anything to Facebook. I posted the news article about the eagle being shot onto this blog, but nowhere else.
I'm trying to stay out of the various conversations about the eaglet at CRC. Don't want all the drama and bickering.
This pic is my Mopsy, who is about 17 years old.
Jo, that Washington cam won't even try to load for me....:( Another one of many that my computers apparently just lock out!
Wonder why Savannah doesn't spend time with that poor, lonely baby.....???? It's damp and chilly......does she know something we don't?
Off to run errands. Have walked and done my do. ☺
While walking this morning, I had the bear cam up. Watched Hope play with the Jason and Faith. Soooo cute! Lily has it made with her built in cubsitter. I know I have said this before but....I wanna bear cub!! LOL Jack tells me NO. Geee, what a meanie!

I am outta here. Later!
Lynn, when are you going to surprise us with a new addition?☺
LYNN, I wouldn't even go there if I were you;) LOL
okay I just have to say this...the eagle in Norfolk is just not as "pretty" as our Belle. Is she just all wet??? She looks haggard.
There is not a more beautiful girl as our Belle.

Good Afternoon finally getting to comment. Been chasing gackles all morning so I said the heck with it and took the feeder down just now.

Afternoon everyone. I think I am caught up on everyones posts.
Boy, the camera operator at Decorah is doing some real neat zoom shots!!
PALynn isn't that just beautiful--what a closeup WOW
Yeah, now he's going real close on the feathers!
Dana, yes, the female at Norfolk is wet, very wet, been downpouring there. She does look ragged, but when not wet, she's a beauty.
The way the sun hits those white feathers......it's just beautiful.

I apologize for my terrible memory!
Hummer chicks are going crazy removing fluff, etc.
One is scratching around the head area, and the other is preening every feather over and over.
Both seem fairly close to fledging time. Wings are well along but not fully grown flight feathers yet.

Lolly and Wanda-----don't know what are referring to.....my surprise???
Just finished packing up the bag, Wanda....sorry, don't have extra hangers to use...most was folded in drawers.
NCSuzan....good to see you back! Hope you are feeling well. I am doing okay....but it's still kind of hard.
Sharon...prayers for Tara and family....not sure I understand the vent....but guess everyone has there own preference. Not for me, for sure....
PA-Lynn, you will find that the people here are unique. You don't usually find so many people with the same qualities all in one place but you have now. Enjoy!
GREAT captures, Leona!!!
JudyE----sorry the storms are being such a pain! Stay safe!
Awww, Suzan......that's a sweet thing to say! We are definitely simpatico!
Jim, I'm just waiting for those hummers to fall out! They need a bigger nest if they're gonna hang around for much longer!
NCSuzan, thanks! I've seen that already and love checking in to visit with this warm caring group!!
Thanks, Sharon, for the update. Guess since the remaining eaglet was handled, parents may be a bit leery.....but I'm sure the people wore gloves, so everything should be okay in a little while-----I hope!
That is sad news - thanks Sharon for bringing it over. I'm sure they will publish the results as to cause of death
In this Aviary at CRC I feel they just may intervene with the remaining eaglet should the parents not take care of it.
Introducing my 2 feline friends
Scar (Tiger short hair)
Marvin ( Orange long hair)
They are both spaded males - indoor at night & outdoor by day.
Yeah! Thanks Christine for the news
Dana, Lynn, yes that is a rabbit in the Decorah nest. Dad brought it into the nest yesterday afternoon, I don't believe they have started eating it yet. There are 3 eggs in the nest. Yesterday, I thought I saw a pip hole in the middle egg.
Thanks, Liz - and yes the camera operator zoomed in during the last egg roll and it looked like one was cracked a little!!
Switch on Deorah nest....zoaomin in
Christine, when you said mom and dad are back on the nest, which nest were you referring to? I do not see parents on Savanah's nest, where chick 1 died this morning. Chick 2 is lanquishing in nest, no one is caring for him.
Sharon - prayers for a peaceful passing for your friend's dad and blessings upon the family.
Is it me or is the Deorah nest small.
Leona, I thought Decorah nest was small too, until they zoomed out, then it looks normal big size. They zoom a lot there.
Thanks Liz
Liz, I tried to go back and delete that comment, but no trash can. They both showed up for a minute, looked at him/her and left again. I feel bad. I don't want to watch another eaglet die :( :(
Christine, me neither!!!
Christine it the parents don't take care of their last eaglet will someone step in and help there?
I don't know Leona, I asked but didn't get an answer.
Man I am like you I don't think I could handle seeing another eaglet die. I am still not over Paddy. :(
Parents came into Savanahs nest and stood there discussing what to do with chick, but didn't touch chick. One parent still there, pecking around.
Savannah's in there. Looked like they had a little tiff, but I didn't catch it all cause my boss walked up ;-}
For those that haven't watched eagles for very long, in regards to the remaining chick at CRC...this is a period of resting and eating...and I know they do move around, and probably more so when there are two in the nest, but don't panic it you don't always see the eaglet moving....they do rest a lot as they are still clumsy...but the parents also don't have to spend the time in the nest keeping them warm...and they are too big to brood.
The eaglet is getting fed right now...
Parent is feeding chick in Savanahs' nest.
OUr still cam is working, but looks all fuzzy like early this morning, but it is updating.
Nest Update Mar 31 2011
No visitors this morning...
No visitors last night...
Last visit was Weds morning, Mar 30
Link for still cam
http://www.fws.gov/nctc/cam/stillimage.html
I think after everything with Paddy and losing this one, we'll probably be quick to panic for a little while :(.
If that isn't a pip hole at Decorah.....
Paddy would have been two weeks old today!! Happy Birthday Paddy!
They just got finish zooming into Decorah nest. Yes there is defintely a pip in one of the eggs. I watched when she moved it the fluff fell away but the black spot stayed.
DanaMo, good news about your eggs!
Glad they checked out the other chick at CRC
Just peeking in. Ran errands and now about to head out.
PA Lynn, Linda, right? I think you better prepare for me to move in. LOL I wanna bear! Will settle for a 2 year old.
Yes, we all get a little paranoid when we see one eaglet die. Then we worry about them all.
OK, off again! Ta dah!
Live cam is back up, but the coloring looks a little strange.
I have nest on cam at OD
So funny!
I think to coloring is because the nest is wet.
I would say the live cam has more color to it than it's had all year......
I think they are still working on it...pic on live feed is not moving at all...do like the color....but the still cam still shows everything all fuzzy...
So can we tell if our nest has had any activity or nestorations while the cam was down?
Just added some more screen shots from Decorah Eagles
WOW look at that colo in the nest!
I am back still storming but not bad How are all of you Not able to read any blog today because of the storms, and tornadoes I love the new cam I have never been able to see any color at all always BW on my end Is it new? did they replace it?
See both parents around at CRC
Live EagleCam
Note: The live feed is currently back online, but is still being worked on. Thank you for your patience.
I do have to say the Decorah cam is awesome. My screen shots look like they were taken with a camera.
Feathers are flying in Norfolk, yumyum snack.
JudyE - I went to Florida Southern College in Lakeland and know where that airport is that got hit so bad today. It looks horrible on the radar. Do be safe!! Hope it clears soon!
Congowings said it might be a gull.
Boy that bigger eaglet is huge compared to the other two. Or it just looks that way now. It is stomping and sitting all over the other two!
Lynn, what amazes me is Blackwater....eaglets 1 and 2 are considerable bigger than eaglet 3. #1 and #2 started their blood feathers at least 10 days ago, if not 2 weeks. #3, you can barely see the start of his.
Interesting...... ☺
I love the Decorah cam. If you go full screen it's like sitting in the nest with the eagle. Very close up.
My avatar is now our Yorkie Rosie. She is our princess.
SHaron I hope Tara's father has a peaceful journey
Christine I am so sorry to hear about the eaglet
Good late afternoon everyone.
Raining and dreary here.
Obviously we don't keep extra bird seed in the shed anymore!!
we have bears here in Oakland MD and in my neighborhood too.
Sharon - prayers with your friend Tara and for her father's peaceful passing
SusanP - He felt so used!!
Just another pretty face!!
I know... no respect!
I think the cam has froze...
Let me eat, take my picture and then scare me off!! The nerve!!
On the Decorah Eagles does anyone know there age? Is this there first nest?
Cam isn't froze. I can see the twigs moving at the lower left hand corner.
To me, our nest image is definitely not as sharp...wonder if something went wrong with the HD...and they had to back off of it, resulting in better color but less definition?
And it usually is better color when it's wet, but not even this good.
Still cam has lots of static in the picture.
As far as I know it has been around since 2006 or 2007 Decorah.
Leona, don't know the eagles age, I think this is the 3rd years it's been online.
Well, that is an interesting screen.
Blue screen and working on it some more....rats, they moved past the url too quickly.
I saw the twigs move in that same spot, Sharon.
It's a piece of grass, actually
Now see, I was going to call it grass and changed my mind. :)
I thought it was a twig the first time :)
I hope they find the dog and then I hope they find the person that did this:
Searching for dog with mouth and nose duct taped
Okay, I saw it move, too, when I made it full screen. Big blade of grass--looked like a worm!
Yeah, definitely a fuzzy image.
Looking at my picture of Nugz every time I post, I feel like I should have a Woof! in there somewhere ☺
More snow mix tonight and in the morning.......hope this is winter's last gasp......didn't anyone tell the old man that spring has sprung??
wvgal_dana - stories like that can really make you hate people (at least the sorts of people that do things like that!)
My Nat's lost their home opener.....but there's LOTS of games ahead!! Go NAT'S!
TEAM LIBERTY!!!!
Ok I see grass moving now.
At Fort St. Vrain they feel 1st egg did not hatch, 2nd egg hatched March 28th and 3rd egg hatched March 30th. Two chicks have been fed.
I sure hope we see Belle tonight.
Thanks Dana and Paula.
Hello!
Geesh.
A dog with nose and mouth duct taped? Oh no! I hope that turns out okay.
People in the area there, rescue team with dog, police, and animal rescue are all looking for the dog. Some have seen it. So it is in the area in Maryland. Terrier something mix.

FOUND COBRA
I can not ever understand why people want to be so mean. I hope they find that poor dog.
Wow.. glad they found that Cobra.
Dana, thanks for the link......my heart is breaking again.
Thanks, WV Dana, so glad this snake has been found.
Shirley.....both situations sound insane!
About time to start supper. Mac and cheese because Hunter likes it and NC barbecue with coleslaw because I like it.
Cam not live yet but Kidd and Lola are back at Osprey Milford Connecticut. YEA!!!!! That is the nest that had the "blue teddy bear" in it one year.
On window on wildlife forum Sherri lives near the nest. She gets pictures and they are beautiful.
link
Scroll down page to picture of Lola and Kidd
Aw, c'mon Shirley. Bet you used those 20 assignments to start that fire in your fireplace because you didn't want to read/grade them.
A pole-dancing outfit? Well, maybe she's preparing for the job she'll have after flunking high school.
And, yes, I need to do some research this weekend on the issue of geriatric/terminally ill lifers.
Phoebe's babes are just huge. I hope they don't fledge before I can see them another time or two.
NBG had great close up of eaglets being fed. All were rather damp but just having a feast.
I think Hornby has two eggs.
Lynn, sorry about the Nats - GO SKINS!
I think we called goulash mustaciola (sp?). Anyway, macaroni with ground beef and tomatoes.
Lynn, thought snow was way further north as in Maine, New York. Hope it isn't around the WV momsters (and now the PA momsters)
Need to catch up on the National news. BBL
It's snowing fairly steady here in Garrett County MD now. Supposed to get 1-3" but they said that last night too and only got a dusting so hopefully they are wrong again. I'm ready for spring!
Dana, did you see they had to reconstruct the nest? Down to the bare platform...lots of sticks added already. Hope they turn on the cam soon!
For a nice slideshow of Lola & Kidd Opsrey in Milford, CT. under the big picture taken March 29 at 5:16pm is a smaller picture. That say's "Cick for Short slideshow". Here is the link again.
Below picture click on little picture for nice SLIDESHOW OF LOLA & KIDD
Yes Paula but you and I know that is two Osprey that can and will do it. ( :
Obviously still working on cam----had a computer screen image for a few seconds!
(I still don't like Win 7!!!) LOL
Have a good evening~~~BBL
Judie......remember when Shirley said that one of the resident 4-leggers had pulled papers out of her breifcase? NOW we know where those 20 assignments went!!!
LOL, Shirley.....kidding you!
"Teacher's dog ate my homework!"
Loretta - you got a lot accomplished today! I bet dinner is really good
hedgie true story my papillon tired to eat up my daughter homework. It went to school with teeth marks all in it.
Sounds like a really uplifting subject to research, Judie.
I once got an assignment in a plastic baggie with a note from Mom that it had been through the washer.
I accepted it.
BBL. Kathryn and Hunter are home.
Shirley,
My dog absolutely LOVES bread. He'd take bread over steak any day!
If he hears that bread bag rustle he is right under foot!
Watching some news.
BBL
Snowing up here in PA, too!
My dog wouldn't care about the homework, but my kitten loves to tear up paper!!
LOL the kitties have torn into Tori's homework once or twice
Well I am at 14 mins on the live feed, hear raindrops and I think I heard a train...
hear that Sharon, a TRAIN !
LOL just had to hit the go arrow at 14.26 mins
Hello Evening Eagle Pals
xoxo
things ARE very still at the live feed...
see I am home in time for the first SPLIT of this thread, coming up soon
Sharon
Prayers for Taras's father....Peace and comfort to the family and him
but the color is diminishing
can't really blog and watch live feed
catch up later with you folks
Well what ever they just did made it worst.
I agree Leona
When I was writing the conclusion to my thesis for my Master's Degree, the computer crashed.
It was about a week before the due date, and I had been working on the assignment for a semester. I had not backed it up electronically because the document was too big for one floppy disk.
Fortunately, I had backed it up with a printed document, and my professor kindly accepted the draft copy with the understanding I would type the whole thing over after I got my diploma. Yes, I did it. (It needed to be turned in to be placed in the college library.)
Thank God you didn't totally lose it!
SPLIT!!!!!
