Thank you for the new thread Steve.
Good morning.
Have a nice weekend!

BEagle said...

It's been about an hour since a blog post. I am sure my call over was unnecessary BUT just in case.

I am looking for the peanut thing that Magpie mentioned in the 5:00 position. Not quite sure that I see it.

I will keep looking.

Egg roll. Wiggle..rock..rock.

BEagle said...

I just got a new headset so I could hear Belle and Lib flap their wings.
These are awesome phones. I will have to be careful when I visit the Decorah nest lest I get blown out of my chair.

lol

BEagle said...

Ooops. I am now getting up off the floor. lol

Decorah nest...sitting.

BEagle said...

CRC is sitting. Haven't seen a new chick yet.

BEagle said...

The Jordon Lake chicks look handsome with their dark feathers. Caught one preening.

BEagle said...

Adult eagle on the BWO nest. Chicks are covered at the BWE.

I may not get to see some eagle action before I have to go. That's no fair.

BEagle said...

I just saw a part of the fuzzy head peeking out from under the adult at BWE.

BEagle said...

I am pretty sure it's Lib on the nest. I can't wait till Belle comes along to hear wing flapping.

BEagle said...

Three chicks at BWE in view. All cuddled up.

I am glad it's hard to tell if they are pecking at each other.

BEagle said...

There's an eagle on the KIDS nest and a lot of golden fluff.

BEagle said...

The Vian nest is not coming through. The close up one anyway. The distant view is up.

BEagle said...

WOW. Two eagles at the KIDS! Arranging their fluff.

BEagle said...

Larry and Lucy seem to be pecking at each other. Love pecks?

BEagle said...

Yay!!!!
Just saw a little fuzz head at CRC!

Cute.

BEagle said...

Savannah is taking charge over her chicks now. Saw the chick and remaining egg, not well enough to see any pip though.

BEagle said...

There are four adult eagles in view at the moment. Savannah and Derek on the nest.

BEagle said...

Egg roll. I think that's Belle!

hedgie said...

Good morning.
Sorry to say that the live stream of Carolina Raptor Center is no longer a valid site........have no idea why, but it is very disappointing. :(

LOL, Shirley......tell that student that "you guys" is a northern expression (except in Joisey where it's "youse"). No good southerner would say that. It's "you all" or "all y'all"!!

stronghunter said...

Hi BEagle,

Finished the first round of house cleaning. Still need to do some more, but the carpet in the family room is vacuumed and shampooed--a frequent necessity with so many pets in the house. The poor dogs are traumatized as usual. They are not happy when noisy machinery is being used.

I need to take a look at the cams when I get a chance. I am a bit rushed now. Rebecca needs to work on round two of her grammar homework. I hope I am up to the challenge.

BEagle said...

What does that mean? The CRC is no longer a valid site.

stronghunter said...

Didn't want to confuse the kid with too much information, Lynn.

Another kid wanted to write about his decisions regarding college and whether or not to buy a puppy. I told him that he could not put those two issues in the same essay. Some of them need a lot of help.

hedgie said...

Oh, Andy, Mai was only denied romping privileges for 7 hours! Don't think that hurt her!!
Good to hear that Emma also has the running dream---hope that IS all it is here.

BEagle said...

Hi Strong.

BEagle said...

Two eggs in view at the Duke nest.

hedgie said...

BEagle, the pussy willow is a kind of light-colored oval at 5 o'clock......I was the one who originally said it looked like a pussy willow bud. But who really knows what it is??!!! It's been there a long time now.

wvgal_dana said...

Good morning in Eagle Land to ALL and to the lurkers ( :

I was over catching up on great comments by many.

Sorry I didn't stop back in last night. I had to shop for new snickers. I first called everywhere trying to find something similar to what I had. No go in my size and width.

So Mom had said that store at the mall where she got her shoes. Which supposely customer
service at the Mall had connected me there and they didn't.
I am glad Mom and I went to that store. Did a lot of neck stretching looking up to find
size. Then lifting the boxes and putting the strings through. By the time we were finished-
I WAS FINISHED-felt like someone put me on and old time stretching machine. Fingers kept a grab look to them. YEAH I GOT MY SHOES! ( :
So I am thankful..taking some off brand Tylenol for pain.

Thanks Steve for the zoom in.

Prayers continue for Luna. Shirley Do you think a ramp would help for Luna going down steps?

BEagle said...

The OR nest is a mound of snow as usual.

The Hornby is MT
The White Rock is MT.

hedgie said...

BEagle, yesterday I found a live-streaming site for CRC.....it was SO much better than the stupid 5 second refresh of the still cam....but it is no longer a valid site. Very strange. It was sponsered by the same station as the still.

Gee, Shirley....how fast does your carpet dry???

Tell that college-bound kid to forget getting a puppy!!

BEagle said...

It would be nice to have better cam viewing at CRC. This 5 second one will have to do.

It keeps going blank on the lower third where the nest it.

BEagle said...

I see what looks to be a magnolia leaf at the 5:00 position as well as some greenery.

Egg roll. I am sure that is Lib now with the lacy feathering.

BEagle said...

Wiggle wiggle rock.

Time for hatches getting close!

BEagle said...

The TH with the green hue. Eagle rolling eggs.

The WE with the red hue. Eagle sitting.

BEagle said...

Time to go.

BBL

stronghunter said...

The carpet might not be dry by the time they get here, but it was dirty and smelly, so I made a choice. We can put down a few throw rugs if necessary.

Then again, maybe I can postpone the grammar lesson until tomorrow. Trying to do that.

We were awakened by loud gunshots in the middle of the night last night (at 1:30). It was hard to get back to sleep. Did we call the cops? Not this time. It has happened before. We seem to have a trigger-happy neighbor who just hauls off and shoots his gun. Don't want to have the cops think we call when they are not needed. Got the impression they thought that last time.

wvgal_dana said...

Lynn-Hedgie how much would a mini SharPei weigh as an adult?

How much do they thing Mai will weigh as an adult?

Lynn so glad your fence is all finished ( :

Lynn she does not "hate" you. Mai is still a pup (big one) plus check into what you are seeing. It could be the very thing to help
you find out that is why she is doing some of these things. Good idea about videoing the episode. Yes please check with Vet.

stronghunter said...

Kid might not be college-bound. He needs to write more than a two-sentence essay first.

wvgal_dana said...

Hummm don't understand why it is not letting me vote for Mai. It is past my time to vote??????? Has anyone else had problems???????????????

hedgie said...

Dana, glad you got your "snickers" despite all the trouble!

hedgie said...

BWE babes are alone! Plotzed out, so guess they have full bellies---or is that crops?!

hedgie said...

Now apparently someone has started a rumor on the cam page that we have had a hatch.....NOT!

hedgie said...

Anyone "logged in" to get on there and set them straight?

stronghunter said...

It is so dang hard to log on there, Lynn. I have gotten frustrated with it. I had told them that I would try to find a picture to show the nest tree and some of the surroundings. I have pictures, but I cannot post any of them.

hedgie said...

Thank you, Megan!!!

stronghunter said...

Megan got on and told them no hatching yet. I posted, too. I cannot even put on an avatar over there. When I try to put on a picture, it does not work for some reason.

hedgie said...

Dana, mini's should only weigh about 20#'s. Mai is about 35#.

hedgie said...

Me, too, Shirley----and no point calling police cause they never get here fast enough to catch anybody.

Mema Jo said...

Good Cloudy Morning
I was reading all the remarks before signing in today. Megan is on the ball!
Dana - I sure hope you get a snicker bar today - Your typo for sneakers is really what your mind is thinking about... chocolate! Yummy.
I could not get comfy last night on my pillows with my neck so I slept in
my recliner. But now my body is stiff.
I can't win...

hedgie said...

Funny, BEagle, how we see things----I don't see magnolia leaf.....but I have the cam open in Firefox and can't enlarge it...I see a clump of something that might be green at 5 and the pussy willow-thingy is just to the right of that.

hedgie said...

Thanks to you, too, Shirley, but I don't see your comment!

Jo, so sorry you had an uncomfortable night. Take another muscle relaxant and take a nap!!

hedgie said...

Wonder what causes our sound to go in and out?

Morning, all.

Too bad they took down the CRC link

I think the green in our nest is a pine sprig

paula eagleholic said...

BWO update

03/04/11:
We hear the bucket truck may be at the Refuge on Saturday to do general repairs and get the nest ready for our ospreys, which should return from South America around St. Patrick's Day. So if you see the cam go down sometime on Saturday, that would be why.

NCSuzan said...

Good morning to all. The BWE babies are all alone. They are really growing fast. Have Hornby up also. I love that nest. They have been busy making that nest viable. Hope they have a successful year. The last two have been heart wrenching.

Hope everyone is feeling better.

Lynn, so glad the fence is up. That was quick work. And yes, my pulse/ox was 77(on oxygen)

Wanda, I loved your grocery list. But I know you will be creative with your ingredients. You are doing such a basic humanitarian gesture and it will bless all.

Both eagles at White Rock!

paula eagleholic said...

BWE chicks all alone, huddled in an eaglet pile ☺

paula eagleholic said...

Looks like Liberty on duty this morning.

BEagle said...

Oops. I have been looking at my February calendar.

The March calendar says that the 1st quarter moon will be on March 12th and the full moon will be on the 19th.

The hatches should still be within that time frame and we may be able to see some of the hatching if they occur at night.

Busy.

Later. ♥

Mema Jo said...

I just voted for Mai!
Remember ----------------
you can vote once a day until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday March 6th. The 8 pets with the most votes from each heat will move on to the next round next week!
We need more people voting once the 8 pets are put up. Some of their percentages are higher.
Spread the word

paula eagleholic said...

They were pretty far back in the corner...usually only see one person in the enclosure bringing vittles.

Mema Jo said...

I have lost my contact url for CRC

hedgie said...

Thanks, Jo. Yes, we will need to really lay on the votes!!!

Suzan.......77.....AWFUL!! I don't think I've ever been lower than 88. Jo, what about you?

This is what someone said on CRC FB when I asked: I think that was the live stream for the WCNC news site. They are now showing video taped news stories. I think they took it down late yesterday after the egg hatched, although I think they are sponsering this camera too.

Mema Jo said...

I was 84 to start on my last visit... Then I worked it up to 94. Lots of deep breathing! But I have been lower then 84 & in the high 70's. Good old lungs, please don't let me down!

hedgie said...

Here you go, Jo:

paula eagleholic said...

We had some rain here already today, but now it's brightening up a bit

wvgal_dana said...

Oh Jo I am laughing out loud about your comment to me "Dana - I sure hope you get a snicker bar today - Your typo for sneakers is really what your mind is thinking about... chocolate!"

I think that is true Jo ( : Last night I wanted chocolate. Have one small KitKat in frig. drawer. Did no eat it because it seems that was not what I wanted. Now I know ty Jo. I will get a little "snickers bar" lol

magpie said...

Good Day All ! xoxo

stronghunter said...

I am going into this grammar lesson cold, Margy. I do not know what it is about, either.

NatureNut said...

Lynn, Thx for CRC link~~~trying to get stuff back into My Faves. Just was on NBG & there is a good photo posted in comments @ 12:21 showing female's brood patch!

paula eagleholic said...

I can count 6 eagles at CRC, which includes Savannah and Derek. Keep hoping to get a peek at the new chicklet!

wvgal_dana said...

Suzan I'm sorry you ended up in the ER. Prayers you will feel better.

Lynn so glad your fence is all finished ( :

Margy have a good day a work ( :
See you dosed up on K and D. Please take care.

Judie I know you have to be proud of former student. Plus you know you did your job ( : That is always a good feeling ( :

Shirley So we still need Luna back to the Vets. Then you
all will know more. I pray the surgery worked and she just needs some time and I'm still praying.
Shirley would a ramp be better for Luna to go down instead of steps??

Wanda I am sorry GG felt bad. Do you know what caused it? What was the pain from? Yes crab legs another time.
Wanda that cake sounds so GOOD !! Don't be surprised if you don't see me there for a piece lol

stronghunter said...

Dana, you threw me there for a moment when you wrote about getting snickers. Figured it out when I saw the mention of the shoe store.

Grammar lesson is getting delayed a bit because of a traffic incident on I-95. It is a mess southbound right now.

wvgal_dana said...

Thank you Lynn for posting the link showing the Patriot Guard surrounding and blocking out any
unfriendly's.

NatureNut said...

Looks pretty windy at our nest. I guess I will have to invest in external speakers :>( Have the volume thingy up to 100% now & don't hear the wind.Put old speakers back w/old Dell-Dude! That's where they came from!Could move them back, I guess.

stronghunter said...

Dana, Kathryn is considering a ramp to get Luna into the back of her SUV. It would be really complicated to do ramps for the steps we have in the house, though. She is getting better on the steps here.

hedgie said...

Saw eaglets head at CRC for a brief moment!

I have lost NBG link....argh---so frustrating. I am going to rename every link I save with my OWN title to make it easier to locate!

Mai and I just played Frisbee for the first time. She was easily frustrated when she couldn't pick it up---pawed and barked and then dug dirt. She needs to learn to CATCH it, silly dog!

hedgie said...

I currently see 5 adults at CRC.
Is there only one nest? Wonder how they know who is who??!! How many males and females??

hedgie said...

You know...as in "Who's your daddy???"

paula eagleholic said...

Savannah is up! Got to see the chick!

LOL i was so excited I forgot to hit post! Derek's turn now!

hedgie said...

I should be working hard like Shirley, but sure don't feel up to it, so I won't! Infection is in my chest now.....but with antibiotic, don't think it will really turn into anything more than a bit of bronchitis.

Loretta, hope the old speakers work on new puter!

Got NBG back and named it Norfolk Cam.

hedgie said...

Think I forgot to tell you that Christie resigned her "new" job. She was miserably unhappy in it....she had no life from M-F....could not plan anything becuse she never knew where she would be or for how long. 18 hr. + days were wearing her down. So she finished yesterday. Going back to the lab.....no full-time opening, but she will be doing per diem and 2 local hospitals---and already has 70+ hrs. on the schedule for the first 2 weeks.

paula eagleholic said...

That's good news, Lynn. Don't blame her a bit for leaving.

Feeding time at BWE, nice fish in the nest.

hedgie said...

WANDA------I am confused! Why are your pics from last fall posting on FB????

NatureNut said...

Lynn, sorry to hear you're still on the sick list. Antibiotics are the best bet. Hope Margy, Lynne , Steve, Suzan and anyone else under the weather is getting better.

paula eagleholic said...

Missed the folks doing the cam at BWO...all done!

hedgie said...

Feeding time in the BWE zoo!

paula eagleholic said...

All 3 at BWE getting a good meal

glo said...

Stopping in to say Hi. Such a busy day here and work tomorrow. Might be why I think I am so busy today :-). I actually have to have some sort of schedule this weekend. Need to get osme lunch.

Prayers for all still ailing in any way. So that includes Luna too :-)

Off to vote for Mai. We know she is heading to next round. I will try to get some more folks on Facebook to come alongside. Easier to get their attention on the weekend and get them used to following and voting :-).

hedgie said...

Paula, how did you know they were there??? I don't see anything different from before, do you?

Mema Jo said...

Lynn that is great news concerning Christie's decision to change jobs.
She was going all over the place with little advance warning.
Glad you got your fence - you may need to tie ribbons on it to keep the deer
from doing a 'head on' into it.

Mema Jo said...

The BWO cam looks as though the platform is dead center now.

wvgal_dana said...

Lynn don't like hearing that cold is going into chest. Are you sure you are on the right antibotic?????
Prayers Prayers Prayers.....for you.

paula eagleholic said...

I compared some pics, Lynn. And yes the view is straightened up.

Looks like Belle on the nest, I thought it was Lib earlier.

paula eagleholic said...

It is breezy outside, but warm.

hedgie said...

Thanks, Paula!

Jo, don't know if deer could see ribbons in the dark! That's the only time they would need it!

Thanks, Glo! Need all the votes I can get in the coming round!!

Well, it's the only a/b that works for me, Dana....don't know what's left in the arsenal! It IS a good one, so.....it's only been 5 days. 5 to go and they gave me a refill, so time will tell. I am doing better since taking a nebulizer treatment. Will stay on top of that and repeat every 4 hrs.

hedgie said...

It s ure would be a good day to work outside....breezy, comfortable temp.....but with more bad weather on the way, guess it's okay I don't feel up to it, because there would be more mess yet to clean up!

hedgie said...

Yep, seeing that head popped out in front of Lady B is so cute!

wvgal_dana said...

Lynne2 I am glad you MIL is coming to help you.
Please let her so you can recover. I know it is hard but please let her do it this time.

Looks like Belle has everything under control.

hedgie said...

Norfolk is sure swaying in the wind! Seasick time!!

BEagle said...

It looks like the Hornby cam has one of those inserts of another view of the nest....or something.

I forgot what those are called.

BEagle said...

The Decorah eagle is alert and stuffing cornstalks around. Someone manned the cam and did some zoom its
on the eagle. Very interesting when you can count the feathers on their head.

BEagle said...

If you get seasick, you won't want to visit the Duke nest. Bleeeahhh.
Burp.

BEagle said...

TH is rolling and calling out.

BEagle said...

White Rock eagle is busy with fluff.

BEagle said...

I think they are getting ready.

BEagle said...

Of course, every time I catch both eagles at White Rock, I think they are getting ready. It's hard to tell with those in the high northern areas isn't it?

BEagle said...

I clicked a site by accident and got a Port Moody nest. I am not sure exactly where that is, but can see it's on the Pacific Coast.

That nest is empty at the moment. It's near the security guard house for the Pacific Coast terminals. ??

BEagle said...

Either I forgot or just wasn't aware of the fact that Wray laid three eggs at WE.

BEagle said...

I am not sure what Belle is up to.

BEagle said...

I caught a glimpse of her and it looked like she was chasing something off the nest. Then she did a big wing span.

Now she is back on the eggs. May be someone else saw that.

floralgirl said...

Looked to me like maybe something flew too close to the nest. She seemed to jump up and now she is very alert, watching the sky.

floralgirl said...

From FB-Friends of Blackwater NWR
The first returning osprey of the 2011 Blackwater season was spotted Saturday morning! The male osprey was seen in the first water nest at the start of the Wildlife Drive. Bring on spring!

hedgie said...

Nice UTube clip on BWO page.

hedgie said...

Rain has started here. Guess it's not at nest yet...Belle isn't tenting.

glo said...

The beautiful Be Still and Know email form Loretta has inspired me. I haven't made a movie in such a long time I decided to make a movie today. Maybe once the nest is dark and before TV time LOL and after mass for some of you, you will want to stop by.
Welcome to my World :-) This movie is NOT about a hatched eaglet, as so many were in times gone by.

It could however be about the life and times of a somewhat cracked egg :-)/

hedgie said...

Thank you, GLo. Left my message to you there.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Eagle Pals,
I'm getting here pretty late today. We have been busy! Met my Sis-in-law for breakfast, then went to a movie--"Beastly." It was OK, but slow-moving in a few places. Basically a remake of "Beauty and the Beast." I'd give it a "C."
I am looking up dog parks in our area online. Hope to find a good one where Emma can hopefully find a friend. It's beautiful weather here today--mid-70s and sunny.
Well, need to go police the yard for "land mines" and clean up! Will be back later. Doggone it, the PC Fine Tune from Earthlink deleted my entire Internet History! Wish I could figure out how to fix it so it DOESN'T! Sigh...there's always something. :o[

Ms Bookworm said...

Hope that those still under the weather get to feeling better, soon!
Prayers, for sure!
Checked the nest. Is that Lib, or Belle? Happy to see that all seems to be fine there.
Will BBL tonight. :o]

Evening, all!

Left work about 3 today, came straight home and worked out in the backyard till 6. Nugz got plenty of ball fetching time in today :)

Looks like the rain has started here already, guess no walk this evening :(

I see we lost our sound :( Was looking forward to listening to the rain drops.

Lolly said...

Hellooooo! We spent the day in Denton. Went to a basketball game, had lunch at Subway, and then had another basketball game. Basketball is now over and the team got 3rd place. Joseph played well! For spring now we will be going to t-ball games and soccer. We did not go to the soccer game this morning. It was early and way too cold!! It was 40 and a strong north wind. Laurel said everyone was freezing!

hedgie said...

Still 53° here, but rain is steady. Flood watch until 7 tomorrow evening, and I think I heard something about 60 mph winds again....argh!

glo said...

Ms Bookworm ... land mines makes me chuckle. I hope you can find a nice dog park.

Sorry to read its raining there again. I have closed the cam for the night.Better rain than ice or snow though.

I work tomorrow so will not be on in the morning. Time will tell how much energy I have left in the evening. its been a while and the shelter is very busy I hear. Several preschool and lower elementary aged kids so if they aren't too rough Dex should have a few bright spots in his day and so will his new little friends. :-)

hedgie said...

Sounds like a full day, Lolly. Relax now!

old big fat TV 19" diagonal from a co-worker, very simple microwave from another co-worker, and so on like that ! ☺
So until they are broken, or I get more freebies...I won't be fixing them ☺

Oh, that is a sweet video, Glo! Thanks Lowreeda, for helping me to find it. I just popped on here and didn't read back far enough...my bad.

My neighbor friends Are kind of quiet not in your face kind of folks who would not have wanted me to point them out on the video. They will be happy they are there though at least I hope they will. I just figured so many of you have also started your days with Dex and I heading over for coffee and dog treats that you would like a face with a place :-).

Wanda Glad you found the video. Also glad your time with GG was good and you could go home and relax. Did you see where i am going to work tomorrow. I will have the kids make placemats. I so love that idea. I think the moms and the kids will both enjoy that touch to a meal in their own ways.

Yes, I am still around, Margy! Left for a little while to feed my face. Now I am back, sitting here with my electric lap blanket and Jack has a fire going. I just can not get warm! Maybe I should go take a hot shower. That always works.

Long day.

All seems quiet on the nests I checked. Adult at Hornsby just hanging out. Too dark our nest. Lily, Hope and babes were busy today, I guess.

GDub won in a real heart-stopper. It was nice to be out and to see them win. Headed to the A10 (players not me).

Early but too late to read back and catch up tonight. Hope all is going well with everyone and all who were ailing are now healing.

Will be turning my light off soon. Will leave the night light on for others.

Pleasant dreams for all.

Margy, I keep forgetting that you are not on facebook, so I brought over my last Trail Cam video/slideshow to my Just For Fun, whenever you have time and wish to view it. A little different this time;)

Also, today is Brandon's 24th birthday and I took this occasion to post a few photos of him on his big day, also on Just For Fun.
He only weighed 3 pounds, but look at him now...my avatar!
