Good Morning All!
It is such an exciting honor to open our blog and see a new fresh thread.
Thank you Steve! We need to send you some of these early morning pics of our eagle visits to the nest !

I'll go do my duty and holler at the others! Have a great week!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Thanks Mema Jo, you read my mind!! Was just wondering if we had one yet!

Thanks Steve!

Thanks Steve. Good morning Jo and Sissy.

thanks for the call over, Jo:)

Thanks for the new thread Steve.
Jo thank you for letting us know.

There is a osprey a BWO don't know who though.

Mema Jo said...

Margy & Sissy I am sorry now that I didn't get out of bed when I heard all that hollering! Thanks so very much for the pics!
School buses are running here in Frederick county today. Meatball gets on one Thurs am hour to go to Pre K.
She is so excited! Said I could NOT take her because the school bus would.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Very good Jo.

I have new birds to learn here. Not sure what I see when I see them. I have seen some bluebirds but just had something out there that I haven't identified yet.

paula eagleholic said...

Sharon - does Tbird get as many birds at her place? You might have to get her a feeder or two!

Lolly said...

Oh, I am hot and sweaty. Just finished excercising. Whew!

We have a new bird here that we have not been able to identify. It is a nice size bird, about like a cardinal, it is red, like a female cardinal, maybe redder, but it is not a cardinal. The beak is different, long and slender. Hope to get a picture of it, but we do not see it very often. it goes to the suet feeder.

Mema Jo said...

Just hung up phone call from Germany
Everything ok over there - Sammy starts school on the 31st (2nd grade)
She received her hearing aids today and hear the AC humming for the first time. Just certain sounds she didn't have before. From her articulate speech you would never have know she had a slight problem with the lowest and then the highest pitches.

Mema Jo said...

Hope you ID it Lolly I may have one just like it. I can't call it a cardinal due to it's markings being just a little different. I don't have a good zoom on camera so I'll wait to see your pic

stronghunter said...

A quick hello. Not time to read everything. Am just finishing my planning block. Seniors on the way. Was ready for 24, but have 25 so far. Already know lots of them. This will be a lively bunch!

Lolly said...

Well, Jo, don't hold your breath waiting for my pic. Not the photographer that some are. I am a pro at taking grandkids pics!

So glad your ggd got her hearing aids. Did not know she was getting them. A friends of ours son got them recently. He is going into first grade and he is doing just great with them. Children do well with them at this age. Laurel says her 6th graders have a hard time. They do not want to be different.

Lolly said...

Oh, seniors! What a year!

Lolly said...

Our son Michael was in a fantastic class at school. In fact the faculty gave them an award saying what a great group it was. Anyway, there was a huge group of strong, intelligent leaders. The football players were mostly in that group as well. Wish every class was like that. They are so enjoyable.

Mema Jo said...

Shirley - sounds like classroom fun!

Mema Jo said...

Lolly Just once Samantha said to her mom that maybe she didn't want the hearing aids. Now that she has them they don't seem to be a big deal. After all she got to pick the colors!

Lolly said...

Cool! Did not know they came in colors! Joseph picked blue and green for his braces. He has done so well with them. Younger kids are adjust so well.

I am off to clean up, get beautiful, and head out.

Have a great day! BBL

Lunch time here. I just spoke to Janie and her hand is badly infected. She got stung by a catfish barb. We are trying to figure out a schedule to feed birds, etc, until her hand heals.

Beach, Bedford, Bluefield, Bob at BWO and Beyond!

Sounds exciting here and there.
Love the reports on the Germany Gals, Jo, and all the other children and grandchildren reports, as I have surely said before !

Lolly maybe some kind of tanager...Summer Tanager is all red. Sharon describe your bird! there are Blue Grosbeaks down thereabouts...they are so pretty ! xo

magpie said...

School bus rides can be soooo fun for little ones....be sure to get pictures! ☺

magpie said...

I did send Steve an email telling him we had seen our lovely birds over the last few days. Didn't think to send a picture....but told him there were some on some of our links...

Mits said...

Deb, so sorry to hear about Janie's injury, hope it heals real soon

magpie said...

Oh boy, I picked up a pack of old-style 35 mm pictures, which included our Nest Visit to NCTC in February! So some of you will be getting some snail mail sometime this week ☺

magpie said...

Oh Deb, sorry I missed your last post before I start gabbing...
Hope Janie gets special treatment and it heals very quickly.

My friend had a fantastic time in Ocean City this past week-end. They went to a pirate museum...
and just loved being at the beach!

Mema Jo said...

I am watching the Cardinal family eating out on the deck. Mom, Dad and a little one.The young one can eat on its own but the mom did feed his some of the seeds. I love bird watching.

Mits said...

I've heard about that museum, Margy....there are several things to do at the beach, even though they kept people out of the beach Saturday....hubby and I were on the beach Sat and Sun....high tides and rough sea were the most problematic.

Mema Jo said...

I am not real certain what the critter is in the PA woods .. I would say a ground hog but the tail is confusing me
Anyway he is getting his fill along with the squirrels.

Mema Jo said...

I need to go and get ready to Start my day... Beautiful weather but I'm sure the temps are warming up!

hedgie said...

Jo, didn't know that Samantha has a hearing deficit. So good that they found it early and that she has been aided by the aids!!! Didn't know they came in colors, either!! That's cool for kids.
Hope Meatball enjoys school!! So many adventures ahead of her. does she know that all your friends call her Meatball???!!!

magpie said...

Helen
Friends also went over to Fenwick Island DE and Shell city, went to a great Shipwreck museum there.
Their 9 year old is a Pirate Freak so you can imagine, he loved the Pirate Museum.

magpie said...

But of course, they did not want to leave Ocean City and all its beauty and wonder !

I have to check out again, got an afternoon work tour, going away party for an office assistant, and then a Staff meeting..so the rest of the day is more or less, eaten up.

Hedgie - what time do you think we would see the Shuttle hereabouts in the morning? Thanks.

xoxo TTFN Best wishes for the day being a Good One...♥

Mits said...

wow have not been to Frontier Town, since son was around 5 or 6....I pass it on the way to Assateague Island......it is much bigger now...with campgrounds and pools, and water slides

movin said...

Hi, Dana,
I'm just about to turn on the A/C...it's climbing, climbing, climbing, and the humidity is not going down much.

It's supposed to get near 90° today, but if it goes like the last week, it won't reach the figure prognosticated on the weather channel.

I'll just keep drinking the fluids and looking for the shaded, breezy spots...I'll be alright.

How is it back there?

Hi, everybody!

I'm dragging in late again--slept in this morning, and it felt GOOD.
Have to go finish watering plants outside, but wanted to say hello before you all figured I had fallen off the face of the earth!
Boy, we're in for it today weather-wise, I'd say. Supposed to get to nearly 90, but IMHO, the humidity must be about 85 right now. Yech!
They're predicting that it will be 100 by the weekend. May have to go hang out at the movie theater next weekend! They have A/C!!
I really need to catch up on the blog, but I gather that Belle and Lib have been back to the nest!
Wah-HOOO!!!! Hope to see them again soon.
Well, I'm going to hurry up and water the rest of the outdoor plants, and will be back in about 15 minutes.

hedgie said...

Andy, does that mean you don't have AC in the house? ARGH!
I just had to practically stand on my head to change the filter in mine....stupid thing had fallen out of it's track and the only way to get it was to take off the bottom side vent panel, which meant I had to get under the stairs! What a pain.

Heard Margy on the scanner and thought she had gotten called in---now see here that it was a scheduled shift!

Mits, I haven't been to Frontiertown since I was about 7 or 8---didn't even know it was still there!!!

Ms Bookworm said...

Well, looks like I'd better wait a few minutes to go water--a whole flock of doves has shown up for brunch, and I hate to scare all of them off. There's a gazillion other birds, too. Must be an area of about 8 square feet on the patio that's solid birds! I see our Oregon Junco out there, too. Haven't seen him in maybe 6 or 8 weeks. Well, I'll wait about 20 minutes and let them fill up, THEN will water the rest of the plants.
Will probably need to refill the seed feeders by then, too.

For those who were following the local story of little Harper from China- This was posted on August 24
Finally some great news to share! We just learned Harper has received her VISA and can officially come home!!!!

Now we just need to work on getting the plane tickets but if all goes well Harper will be home by next weekend!!!!!

Ms Bookworm said...

Gosh, it's so nice to have fresh-smelling air in the house! By the time the exterminator guy showed up on Saturday (late morning), we were ready to check into a motel!
He found TWO dead rats, both in the recessed lighting shelf in the living room. Nothing more in the attic, thank God. It's occurred to me how much we take for granted--even fresh air! The rats got caught by some glue traps (they were too smart about the rat traps up there), so now we have about 6 glue traps in that shelf up there.
My recliner's right under it, and I don't want any sudden surprises while watching TV!

Mits said...

thanks for the update, Megan, great news:)

hedgie said...

Margy---when you get back on---think that shuttle will be visible here approx. 9 mimutes after lift-off, if I remember correctly. Log onto to NASA live coverage if you don't get it on TV.......and when they say 900 miles downrange, start watching the sky from southeast to northeast.

Ms Bookworm said...

No, Lynn, we don't have A/C. We actually never really needed it, up until the last few years. Now we could really use it, but since I've not been working in so long, we can't really spend the $$ to do it.
When the weather's being normal, we get a really nice cool breeze every afternoon at about 3 pm, that comes from the ocean. If we open up all the windows, the house cools down nicely.
Megan, what a fantastic update on little Harper! Thanks for sharing that. It really makes my day!

hedgie said...

Oh, Megan, how great is that!!! Will go read info, but wonder if some pol pulled sime strings?! So happy for the Scruggs!

Andy---how could the rats get up there?? Do they climb the walls or jump up from your chair, or come down from the attic?? No wonder you could smell it so bad!

floralgirl said...

No AC here either, although kid's room has window unit in, which keeps her room at a cool 70°
Rats? gross.... glad they got them out- dead rodent smell is awful.

Did ya'll hear the latest on Buddy? Pretty much what many of us have suspected...

Bald eagle with misaligned beak to stay at Wildlife Center of Virginia

WAYNESBORO — A bald eagle that captured the public’s attention when it underwent surgery to remove a growth on its beak will remain at the Wildlife Center of Virginia as an eagle ambassador.

The center said Monday the eagle can’t be released into the wild.

The eagle was hatched in April 2008 at Norfolk Botanical Garden. It was brought to the wildlife center in Waynesboro for treatment of a mass on the left side of its beak.

Director of Veterinary Medicine Dave McRuer says in a memo that the eagle’s beak is misaligned despite efforts to straighten it. McRuer says the eagle would eventually starve if it were released.

McRuer also says the eagle also doesn’t appear to be afraid of humans.

hedgie said...

Hope that the people that Dana knows about in Winchester are also getting some good news for their adoption plight.
Good to hear that AT&T is helping out on that huge bill.

Ms Bookworm said...

Lynn, at the back of the shelf is an open space a couple of feet high that directly accesses the attic crawl space. The guy said there are no obvious entry holes that aren't already covered with 1/4" mesh, except for two vent pipes in the middle of the roof. They may have gotten on the roof (either from one of the trees, or by climbing up the stucco walls) and come in a vent pipe, to the attic. All kinds of neighbors in the area have fruit trees, which attract the rats.

hedgie said...

Megan, your kid rates!! Hooe you are allowed to spend time in her room when you've been out in the heat too long!
Paula, thanks for update on Buddy...yes, what we had expected and assumed. He'll make a good ambassador!

ceil said...

Afternoon all. Megan hope your hand is doing better. Aww our Buddy will make a good ambassador.
We are without water again. Do not know why. Have not called the city yet. It just went down about 1/2 hour ago. There is a big break around the inner harbor area.

Ms Bookworm said...

Oh, about 2 years ago or so, Angel Stadium was having a HUGE rat problem, because they didn't clean up the mess in the stands immediately after night games. They would wait until the next day.
When the news broke on that, they had to do a major extermination job, and the rats that didn't get killed took off to nearby neighborhoods. Ours is not super close, but close enough that the whole block had a major problem for a couple of months. We had them in the walls and attic for a while, but eventually got rid of them then. This is a recent invasion. Hope we got them all.

hedgie said...

No fun, Andrea! Hope no more come to their funerals! Have you ever tried the electronic high-frequency repellants? I've had them in my house for 17 years, and have never had a mouse, etc. (Knock on wood!)

Ms Bookworm said...

Well, I'm going to run out and water the rest of the patio plants now...and yes, my feathered friends have emptied the seed feeders, too! (Little piggies!) Be back in a few. BTW, there's a Scrub Jay in the front yard this morning! Haven't seen one in a few months! He's apparently upset about the Goshawks. Hope he's being careful!

ceil said...

Andrea as they tore buildings down around our area for new houses they disturbed the rats and we had a problem. Never got into the house thank heavens. A neighbor had a habit of letting her cats out and the door open. In walked a rat. Another neighbor brought in a plant for the winter not knowing there was a rat in it.

Mits said...

I hate rats:(

Ms Bookworm said...

Oh...no, Lynn, we don't have any of those electronic repellant thingys; maybe we should try them.

BTW, I haven't had any critters drop into my lap yet, but one time a couple of years ago, I was sitting in Hubby's chair across the room, when a rat suddenly appeared at the edge of that shelf, right above MY chair, in broad daylight! I darn near had a heart attack, and I think the rat did, too! Eeeewwwww!

floralgirl said...

Thanks, Ceil, hope your water comes back on soon. Hand and wrist are sore, but okay. I'll survive.
When I was a kid, rats usd to get into our chicken house. They were huge and just disgusting. Always hated going out to collect eggs.

Space Shuttle Discovery Ready for Flight
Mon, 24 Aug 2009 12:53:36 PM UTC-0100

Space shuttle Discovery is in the final stages of preparation before its flight to the International Space Station from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Fueling of Discovery's external tank with 500,000 gallons of super-cold liquid oxygen and hydrogen is scheduled to begin at 4:11 p.m. EDT, depending on weather conditions at the time.

The "topping off" of propellants into the tank will continue until Discovery's liftoff. All systems aboard the shuttle are functioning normally and no issues are being reported.

Weather continues to be 80 percent acceptable for a 1:36 a.m. Tuesday launch.

Coverage of Discovery's liftoff on the STS-128 mission begins Monday at 8:30 p.m. Follow the countdown with NASA's launch blog and live commentary broadcast on NASA TV.

Mits said...

guess if I go out on balcony, will have to be quiet....over-flow from condo next door is sleeping out there....idiot!

Ms Bookworm said...

Mits, I absolutely HATE rats, too!
Ceil, you may have hit onto something there--maybe I need to talk Hubby into getting a couple of cats!
My SIL & BIL have an ongoing problem with rats, since they live in Yorba Linda, which is more rural. About a week ago, BIL heard one in their home office, and he did catch it in a rat trap. But the darn thing chewed on some of his collector edition Playboy magazines first! Yikes!

floralgirl said...

Sounds like it's time for a party on your balcony!

Ms Bookworm said...

Boy, I need to catch up on the blog after I go and water. Megan, what happened to your hand and wrist? BBIALW...

Mits said...

well, I will respect their privacy, heard a few voices close by last night after midnight, but chatter did not last long....

Lolly said...

Megan, thanks for the news on Harper. I checked last night and saw the new pictures posted but had not been back today. How exciting is that to be bringing her home by this weekend! Now they will have to start building her trust in them once again. Prayers for her!

Jack and I went to Ft. Worth and did some grocery shopping. Salmon tonight!

Lolly said...

Poor Buddy! Was hoping he would fly free! Great that he will be an ambassador and a good one, I am sure. At the time that upset me, reason I do not watch Coo.

ceil said...

Andrea the cats let the rat walk in. We have city cats they don't bother the rats. We have been fine lately.

ceil said...

Andrea Megan fell down the steps on Saturday. They were wet.

floralgirl said...

Okay, I'll put away my party hat and noisemakers, Mits...
Ceil is correct, sort of 'bounced' down the deck steps on Saturday and caught myself with right hand.

hedgie said...

ndy, don't think you want cats unless they are going to stay indoors! They will kill the birdies!
Megan, heard of raccoons stealing eggs, but didn't know rats did, too. Glad to hear that your hand/wrist are feeling better.
Mits, you owuld think there would be condo rules against camping out!

ceil said...

Lynn there probably are but some people don't listen.

hedgie said...

Good afternoon Megan, Ceil, Hedgie, Mrs. Bookworm, Paula, Mits and Maarie. Good to hear that Buddy will be ok and used for showing. That poor eagle didn't stand a chance/

RATS! What a thing to be talking about on this lovely blog.

MITS, That about sounds right about the campers on the balcony. Whyen we first build back in the Harbour, your couldn't put up fences, have clotheslines cut down trees, move sand without permission. Now everything goes. People do what they want and then half the time they don't get reprimanded for it. So sorry to hear that you are having a problem in your condo.

Lolly said...

Guess I will get back to my purging. I will clean a drawer or two. That should not be too exhausting!

hedgie said...

carolinabeachmom said...

Hey LOLLY, that bacon salad that Hedgie is talking about sure sounds good.

Mits said...

Well sure it is something that should not be done, but as long as they are quiet, I don't really care, but a couple of years ago, someone was doing the nasty....would have loved to have thrown a bucket of water.....all I ask for is quiet from midnight til 8 in the a.m., and stay out of my parking spot....:)

Lolly said...

That is a lot of children. Of course I had 21 and no aid. Wondering how it was going. Tomorrow is a BIG day!

Lolly said...

And, Candy, I am sooo happy for you that you like the new teacher you are working with. That is so important.

carolinabeachmom said...

LOLLY I think the Principal did it to give me a break. I have been with the other one for 14 or 15 years and I made the mistake of doing toooooo much for her and I was staying very late at night and going very early in the mornings. I liked her, but finally got a little put out with the stuff she kept pulling I might as well have been the teacher, the way it was going.

I like to use different ones!

carolinabeachmom said...

You all have a nice evening. Wish I could send you up some of our downpouring rain we have had lately. It sounds as if it is dry up there in WV.

Ms Bookworm said...

Lynn,
Any cat of mine would be an indoor cat. Too much danger outside! We have a lot of traffic around the corner, and there have been coyotes in our neighborhood. Back when we had indoor cats, there were no rodents of any kind in our house, though. I think they smelled the cats and just didn't move in.

carolinabeachmom said...

Thanks MITS!

Lolly said...

I never had an aide, but I would never have expected one to come in early and stay late. Glad you were moved.

Poor babies having so much pressure. We did journals too, but imagine starting out doing that with one person! It wore me out!!!!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hope your day goes well tomorrow, Candy:) And best of luck to Josh!
Wish I could do more with my left hand, never have been ambidextrous, pain is tolerable in arm and wrist until I really start to do something that requires strength. I have gotten little accomplished in the garden today:(

Mits said...

well finally got condo cleaned and laundry done..... going to put feet up for awhile.....

hedgie said...

Candy, I sent Lolly's recipe to my girls...I'll forward it to you now.

Mits said...

ok, Megan, just remember what Lynn said about your injury, I walked around for 3 weeks thinking my arm was just sprained, years ago, finally went for xray, it was broken

hedgie said...

Okay, it's on its way to you, Candy!

floralgirl said...

I know, I know... but I really don't think anything is broken, I can move wrist all around, not a lot of swelling, just painful.

Ms Bookworm said...

Ceil,
Did your water ever come back on? It's dinner time where you are, isn't it?

hedgie said...

The most common wrist fracture is a Colles fracture....and it can take a couple of weeks, but there are others, too. The one I had 7 yrs. ago was a Scaphoid fx. and it took a special x-ray view to see it. I fell while on vacation in FL at my moms' and the doc there just kept saying "wait two weeks"--I suffered badly! Had to have Carolyn come down to drive me and the dog home--it was my left wrist and I am SO left-handed that it's ridiculous! Plus I was on some potent drugs!

Mits said...

yes my Megan:), I had no swelling, no bruising, just pain, when I would pick things up....picked up a plastic grocery bag from store,,, hot pain shot thru my arm, and only then did I go get an xray, not nagging just concerned, don't like to see you in pain:(

Mema Jo said...

Candy - Ft Benning GA Now isn't that pretty close to you! Like maybe a weekend visit? I sure hope so.

floralgirl said...

I know, you could never have my title, I am the queen of nagging, just ask hubby. I appreciate the concern:)
Just don't wanna spend the $ on x rays for nothing, if you get my drift. I will consider going to DR if pain doesn't improve soon.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Carolinabeachmom,

Congratulations to Josh on his graduation, and best wishes to him

Hope you enjoy the school year, too!

Mema Jo said...

I am sure if needed you will take care of the hand Megan. After all you must be able to pick the posies painlessly!

Did you wrap it or put a hand brace on it. Jenny has one that came from CVS and it helps her eliminate the pain when working in the flower beds/garden or on the computer too long.

floralgirl said...

I've been icing it, have wrapped it on and off. pain is in wrist and radiates up forearm, but not sharp pains, just a dull ache.

Boy, they are working hard!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Is there any sound?

wvgal_dana said...

Belle just flew out

floralgirl said...

YEs, I have sound. Eagle flew out.

floralgirl said...

Sounds like she's up by cam.

wvgal_dana said...

Sissy yes I had to turn sound way up.

floralgirl said...

There goes the other, empty nest.

floralgirl said...

WHoa- the cam is shaking.

wvgal_dana said...

Liberty flew out and someone is at the cam.

hedgie said...

And both gone again. Don't they know that this is the wrong time of year for nestorations????

Lolly said...

I must say I am one happy camper! I was finally here at the right time. Also, one did not go far. Someone is by the mic.

wvgal_dana said...

I am too Lolly ( :

I'm SO glad our eagle couple is back! Afraid I missed them--Hubby came home from work, and I had to go make a bank deposit. Heard something or someone up by the cam, but haven't seen anyone yet.
Gotta go eat dinner now. Maybe later!

hedgie said...

They seem to be taking care of the nest shrub pretty good, huh?

Mema Jo said...

I sure did miss the eaglemania excitement! DARN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So happy you chosen few got to see the whole thing... Any pics?
Looks like most of the tree has gone..
Little bugs flying around now - I wonder if Spidey is around...

Lolly said...

Time to go fix our dinner. Still hear someone by the mic. I sure hope a spider or a bug do not make that kind of noise.

Oh, and I started to say....I could tell Belle and Lib apart this evening. Now, how about that, eagle fans?!!

floralgirl said...

I believe he is, I saw little spider legs briefly at the bottom right of screen...

Lolly said...

No, Jo, I did not take any pics. I was just so excited to be seeing both on them. They worked on the plant, moved some sticks, and at one time had a lit spat! LOL

floralgirl said...

Sorry, I am doing about 4 things at the same time and didn't try to open still cam to get pics.

Mema Jo said...

Dana Did you capture any pics from the still cam... I hope I hope!

You're getting good Lolly at telling them apart! It's harder to do when there is just one of them in the nest.

Mema Jo said...

The Time Out with our Live Feed is still to me a big pain! Hope it is saving lots and lots of money!

Mema Jo said...

DIEGO is all alone

floralgirl said...

Yep, and when it stops the PLAY button doesn't work for me, have to refresh the whole page to get cam started again.

I did the 2 deletes.

Photos of tonights eagle visit is in the Eaglet_Momsters photo album.

Mits said...

it is super easy to tell them apart in the nest, when they are together, and when not, Belles' white spot really stands out...so you can tell her apart from Lib

Mits said...

Megan, I have to do the same thing, when I hit the play button....

Oh my, y'all been really busy today. Need to read and catch up.

Last night, whatever was at the nest reminded me of those Ninja Turtle swords with glo lights waving all around. Looked really strange.

Hi Jo, happy Sammy got the help at such a young age; she'll adapt very, very quickly.

Deb, I'm sorry about Janie but have to ask: what's a catfish barb?

Good news about Buddy. We know he will be cared for and loved and an excellent recruiter for eagle supporters.

Congratulations CarolinaBeachMom on Josh's graduation. Best with kindergarten.

Andy, sooooo very happy to know your air has been cleared -- I'm not even going down the rat road --gross and disgusting and I'm sorry for all who have that problem.

Ceil, happy water has returned.

Shirley, hope the first day with students was a good one.

Meatball's gonna be just fine at pre-K. Knows her mind and speaks it!

Sure wish I could have seen the evening eagle visit. Such a positve sign they plan to give us another season of pleasure.

Enough for now. Sorry for chattering -- just trying to let everyone know I've been looking in.

Good evening! Great to know that Belle and Lib visited again this evening. I just missed it.

Have been busy grading diagnostic tests. Yes, I gave tests in some classes on the first day! On block scheduling, the classes are 90 minutes long. It is necessary to have a variety of activities. We also did personal interviews and oral presentations.

Nobody showed up on a scooter! That boy is not in my class until spring semester.

The day started with a pep rally. Very upbeat.

I have read bits and pieces of the blog. Might do some more catching up later on.

Tired.

stronghunter said...

Might go over the messages tomorrow . . .

Brain is wearing down.

stronghunter said...

And, yes, it was a good day.

Evening, all!

Lawn girl reporting in. Backyard is done and looks good. Dogs and lawn girl have been fed. Lawn girl is off to check on friends kitty. When she comes back, she will morph into laundry lady. BBIALW.

stronghunter said...

Hi Paula, this blogger is going to morph into a sleeper.

Good night. God bless.

hedgie said...

Good night, teach Shirley. First day is a tiring one, I'm sure! Off to bed you go, girl. Let us know the outcome of the WalMart decision meeting if you hear anything, please!?!

Judie said...

Good night, Shirley.

Bath time for Diego.

Tapping noises at microphone.

Back to t.v.

Daggone, missed the visit! Sounds like it was a good one! Glad to hear L & B are back to work!

Lolly said...

Sorry I missed Shirley, but glad she has gone to bed. First day of school is a killer, to say the least. And, then to be grading papers already!!!!!!!

Dinner was yummy. We grilled salmon and I made a green onion sauce to go with it. Then had corn on the cob, cantaloupe, and fresh tomatoes. Great way to fix fresh tomatoes...top with chopped fresh basil and feta cheese, then drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. mmmmmmm!!!!

Lolly said...

I really think Belle is close to the mic. The noise we are hearing started right after she flew the coop!

Mits said...

hey Lynn, do you have your NASA TV on.....?:)

Shoot, I missed the visit. I was a couch potato lady today. Tomorrow I am taking ToTo 2 to the vet in Spirit Lake, IA, that can do bird surgery. It is about a 3 hour drive each way. ToTo has a talon problem that requires surgery. Since Janie is laid up with a serious infection, off I go. Janie has to go in the the clinic for IV antibiotics every day for awhile. She was so down, I forgot to ask for how long.
