deb said...

Wow, cool picture, Paula! They also steal fish from Osprey! We have had a first year trying at the lake this week.

Mits said...

Deb, have fun tomorrow...

paula eagleholic said...

Wow Deb, she must have a very bad infection if she is on IV antibiotics. Hope she starts to feel better soon! And I wouldn't have pronounce that toe toe for sure!

paula eagleholic said...

How's Gabby doing Deb?

magpie said...

Cool article and picture Paula
Hi.

Great evening photo clips that Dana put on the Momsters album. Yay to all the lucky viewers!

hedgie said...

Yep, Mits, have been watching.
Deb, are you on vacation this week??
Poor Janie...the infection probably came from microbes in the water, not the fish. She is in my prayers, too.

deb said...

Glad I added the pronunciation!

Gabby was going to be released tomorrow, but we are now hoping for Wednesday. It will be a team effort--3 feathers to imp. We will talk about how we will get it all done tomorrow.

It is serious, Paula--Janie is pretty worried.

magpie said...

Two great people with hand ailments, Megan and Janie
Hope all will be well soon.
Deb - Best wishes on your journey with To To 2 tomorrow.
Fine Bird will have a great chauffeur ! ☺

deb said...

Not on vacation, Lynn. Tomorrow is my day off and Jane called from the hospital earlier today, so I was able to ask for Wednesday off.

deb said...

I have plastic sheets to line my pick-up with, no poop shoots, please!

magpie said...

Thanks for the Shuttle news, Lynn. Will probably try to view it, never have seen it before.

Shucks, should have been taking notes while reading the blog...

Glad to hear from Candy - sounds like a good year coming up for her. Prayers for good things for Josh as he moves forward in the military. Another person to think about when we wear RED on Friday !

paula eagleholic said...

Thought you would love one in your truck, Deb!

magpie said...

I have a CD in my computer (Dana's suggestion) - I have sound...Hedgie suggests I try to load DirectX, guess that might be next move...have to hear those Eagles coming in and out !

Hope everyone is doing well tonight...

The Moon sure was pretty tonight..getting bigger each day, is almost an adolescent now ! xo

floralgirl said...

Have a safe trip, Deb. Hope Janie gets better soon, sorry to hear she is so sick.
That eagle fish pic is cool, Paula!

hedgie said...

Mits, are your skies clear (so far!)?

magpie said...

Beautiful blue misty morning at Finney's - Koo looks good

hedgie said...

Commander is in his seat.

deb said...

I am having a glass of tomato juice--I bought it to make gazpacho soup, but it looked so good, I am drinking it instead. I won't be home to make soup tomorrow anyway.

hedgie said...

Looks like it would be awfully hard to get their helmets on once in the seat.

magpie said...

Oh, Great! I have sound on the NASA TV site on the computer....

magpie said...

Gazpacho, a great summertime soup!
Tomato juice rocks too!
Get your vitamins loaded up for your trip, Deb

paula eagleholic said...

Maybe it's your flash player that has a problem, Margy. Maybe uninstall and reinstall.

deb said...

My thoughts, too, Margie. I had BLT's tonight, I must be in a tomato mood.

magpie said...

Sun's going to be coming up soon at Finland...

Mema Jo said...

I would have said 2 - 2 Thanks Deb
Great for you to be able to help out
Will To To stay there or will you wait & bring him back?

How did you get sound on NASA and not the nest! Wow!

magpie said...

I'm going to disappear for awhile.

Prayers for Wellness, and Good Sleep tonight...

God Bless Us, Every One
xoxo ☺ ♥

Mema Jo said...

It is so cool watching NASA and what all they do in order for take off.

paula eagleholic said...

I was gonna have a BLT for dinner tonight, but forgot the lettuce that I bought at lunchtime in the frig at work! So I had watermelon for dinner...really nice and refreshing after mowing.

deb said...

I will wait for ToTo and bring him home. That will save a return trip. The actual surgery will be quick, probably just need to make sure he comes out of the anesthetic okay.

Catfish barbs have poison on them, some people react strongly to it, others handle it okay. Then I think that since she didn't treat it right away is where she got into trouble.

hedgie said...

Cool link, Paula. Wonder where Shelly's vantage point is for her nest and tree pics?

Mema Jo said...

Heavy morning fog with Koo in the nest
Probably was raining - Koo looks wet.

hedgie said...

Misunderstood, Deb...thought you meant you were home today!
I had BLT this evening, too. And I love tomato juice!!!

deb said...

I am off to bed, I hope I come back tomorrow with all kinds of good news, ToTo can fly free soon, Gabby, too, and of course the IV is helping with the infection

Prayers for all, I need to check Dana's pictures, then lights out.

Oooh, I almost forgot. My Uncle Bob has been to the driving range twice this week. I guess his balance is wonderful!

Mema Jo said...

Great news Deb
Good Night and Good Journey

Mema Jo said...

Hedgie - Mits
What time is lift off scheduled ?

Lolly said...

Watching NASA. Had to call to get the channel, but we are watching.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, everyone!
Just coming back here to say goodnight. Paula, thanks so much for the link to the picture of the eagles' mid-air trade of the fish!
Amazing!
Prayers for healing where needed, and for all our needs. Thanks given for all our blessings.
It's not cooling off much tonight, so far, so I'm heading for the shower in the hopes it helps. Have sweet dreams, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. G'night! :o]

Good Night Sharon loL

hedgie said...

Jo, 1:36!

hedgie said...

Go, Uncle Bob!!! Super news!!!

hedgie said...

Good night Andy and Sharon! Sleep cool!

Mema Jo said...

Thanks Lynn I thought it was early am...... I hope you can stay up and tell me all about it!
I wish I didn't need to get up early tomorrow or I would definitely watch.
Well, Maybe I'll get up early enough to see our love birds in the nest.

Mits said...

so far, skys are clear here, Lynn....,

Mits said...

just my luck, they would suit me up, strap me in, and I would have to go to the bathroom.

Mema Jo said...

I was thinking about that Mits.
Don't you think they have something built into those suits for that ?

Judie said...

Fell asleep for a while so back to check in.

Woke up to hear the end of a story about online lecture note sharing using a website called Gradeguru.com. Not happy about another source of material for college/university courses that encourage students to download lecture material and not attend classes. Students apparently are paid to submit lecture notes so others can download and not go to classes. Yet another reason I am happy I have banned all electronic equpment in my classrooms.

Goodnight, everyone. Prayers for all.

Turning my light out now but leaving the night light on.

Judie

Judie

Mema Jo said...

Good Night Judie Judie !
Rest well!

Mits said...

yeah Jo, for sure they do..

Lolly said...

Had to laugh! They have to sit there for a while, surely they have something to take care of nature's call.

Lolly said...

Really neat how they are telling about Jose. Very exciting!

Mits said...

got weatherunderground.com radar on....storms to the east.

Mits said...

nice clear a.m. at Finland nest 2 o's there.

hedgie said...

I would surely think so....maybe they are cathed!!! Jo, tell your bladder to wake you at 1:30!
Judie, I bet that for everything that is known to use to cheat, there are probably that many more unknowns! And I don't think honor codes mean a thing to kids anymore. So sad.
Good night!

Mits said...

interesting shot at Finney's nest o came in then took off and is sitting on a tree branch nearby

Mits said...

just took off into the misty a.m., poor Koo just sits there.

hedgie said...

Going to take my bath. BBL!
For those left turning in, prayers for all!

Mits said...

some of the echo tops are 45-46 thousand feet...weather could be a problem

hedgie said...

Congrats, Raven fans and sorry, Oriole fans! Win some, lose some, as they say.

Mits said...

lol...Lynn:) got that right

hedgie said...

Wouldn't that be the pits, Mits? I bet that there have been more scrubs than launches throughout the history!

Mits said...

for sure, Lynn....they are also having some ice problems

Mits said...

closing latch.

Mits said...

all up and down the east coast of FLA, clear, except for the storms right off of the launch pad...60% chance of weather violation, as they call it.

Costume Lady said...

Another busy day here...no time to blog. Glad so many of you got to see our Royal Couple cleaning house:)
Dustin mowed my whole lawn today, while I did "shop things". He is a blessing to me. "Thank you, Lord, for bringing this boy into my life"!:)

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL

PA Nana said...

Good evening to any/all that are still up and awake. I missed the eagles AGAIN!! Couldn't sleep last night and slept most all of today. Geez, I missed a really nice day too. Hopefully, I'll sleep while it's still dark and be awake when the sun shines tomorrow.

Watching Koo right now. Maybe I'm on her schedule? She's flapping now but no take off yet.

Darn, I know there was a lot more I wanted to say but I'm so forgetful. I read through the posts and really should take notes so I can respond when I'm done.

I did read about SS and am not very happy 'bout that! If congress
and the Treasury Dept. had to depend on it, we'd not be in this predicament. Must calm down so I can sleep ....

Anyway, God bless each and every one of us and grant us restful sleep.

G'nite

Costume Lady said...

Almost forgot...I posted a video on my JUST FOR FUN of a Bear & a Cougar. It is WONDERFUL. Don't forget to turn up your sound.

Mema Jo said...

I hope this mission doesn't get scrubbed due to lightening! I wish Mother Nature would cooperate!

Mema Jo said...

That is really a beautiful sight there on the launch pad

Mema Jo said...

Happy Birthday Mary Margaret!
Thinking of you on your special day and I'm hoping that you enjoy it. Praying that the year ahead will bring you good health, happiness, joy, peace and all good things! ((hugs))

magpie said...

Good timing, Jo, I was waiting on the same thing:

Happy Birthday to our Dear Mary Margaret - one of the three famous lovable sisters ! ♥

Mema Jo said...

Hi Margy! Great Minds!

magpie said...

Thanks to you, Jo, we can keep track of this birthday fun ! ♥

hedgie said...

Yippee, it's the 25th!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY MARGARET, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU....I DO MEAN YOU!!!
Hope your day is fun one!

Mema Jo said...

Question: How many men does it take to close one latch?

Mits said...

roflmbo, obviously quite a few , Jo

Mits said...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAR, SISTER...MARY MARGARET:)

hedgie said...

Wonder if a bear cub really sounds like that, Wanda?!?! Have seen it before, but love the ending every time!!!

hedgie said...

Ha, ha, Jo----our tax dollars at work!!!

Mits said...

All they would need is 1 mom to go up there and get everyone dressed and settled, in probably record time

Mits said...

Koo took off

Mits said...

Koo back

Mema Jo said...

I was watching Koo and then I didn't see him take off or come back.
Wish he would go catch a fish!!!!

Mits said...

thought they were taking off at 1:36a.m.????

Mits said...

just glad she is flying today...

Mema Jo said...

We all did...

There is a pure science to closing that latch.. Each one of them has a responsible check off!

Mema Jo said...

lol I emailed that I couldn't stay up that late!

Mema Jo said...

So will it be 12:53 am

Mits said...

no they are coming up to a built in hold at 9 minutes I think.....

Mema Jo said...

Sibling in nest with Koo

magpie said...

I think launch is still for 1:36 but you are right these are all some built in windows for holding on other things....I think...

Lolly said...

I think we are going to bed. It is on hold.

The launch pad with all the lights is really a sight!

magpie said...

Weather sounds poopy !

Mits said...

yeah they just said the 9 minute hold that will last for 45 minutes

Mema Jo said...

Yes it does Margy. I can tell you are a bird person by your descriptions!
:)

hedgie said...

Is that rain showing on the external shuttle cam?

Mits said...

looks like it, Lynn

Mits said...

radar does not look good

hedgie said...

The -20:00 min. hold is a normal procedure....45 mins. before scheduled launch time!

Mits said...

looked like a fight for food at Finney's nest

Lolly said...

Here I am an hour earlier than you and I can not keep my eyes open.

So we are off.....to bed.

Nite all!

Sweet dreams!

Happy Birthday Mary Margaret
May your day be a blessing.

hedgie said...

I guess the water is just part of the cooling system.
Sounds like a minute by minute consideration.

magpie said...

Gosh it's raining there already?
Or is that something else ?

Mits said...

they already did the 20 minute hold, this is the 9 minute hold

Mema Jo said...

Good Night Lolly

hedgie said...

Sorry, meant 9:00 min. hold. Whenever they start the 20 min. countdown, it does make it confusing!

Mema Jo said...

Glad he explained those drops!

hedgie said...

Saw Koo flapping those wings in sibs face!
G'night, Lolly.....some of us are real nightowls!! Some of us just love the SHUTTLE!

Mema Jo said...

.....weather forecasters downgraded the chance of acceptable conditions for launch from 80 percent to 40 percent.

Mema Jo said...

.....weather forecasters downgraded the chance of acceptable conditions for launch from 80 percent to 40 percent.

Mema Jo said...

Did you get my message ???

Mits said...

roger that:)Jo

hedgie said...

Now saying that conditions are improving......who's on first?!

Mits said...

on radar you can see they are dissipating, but who knows?

Mema Jo said...

Koo took off - weather is ok over there

Mits said...

Koo is gone again

Mema Jo said...

I can watch for Koo's landing as we wait for the lift off

hedgie said...

Blows my mind how small the launch windows are. Everything has to be in such precise position--ISS, other planets, other scheduled launches by other countries, etc.

Mema Jo said...

He's back......... That was too short of a flight........

Mits said...

boom just came in for a landing, does not fly for long

Mits said...

you know that o is not going to make it to Africa, just wonder if when the other o's go if they will turn the cam off, so you don't have to watch Koo die?

Mits said...

yeah, Lynn it is amazing

hedgie said...

Hope you three gals can sleep in tomorrow! I can't....have to be ready to leave around 12:30 to go to hospital to get my osteoporosis medicine IV. And hear that the parking situation is awful due to construction, so need to allow time to hunt a space.

Mits said...

I'm hungry:)

magpie said...

Okay, Lynn..so it if/when it launches, I should run outside within 9 minutes to look?

I'm not going to last too much longer than that...don't want to fall asleep at the computer again

hedgie said...

Weather trending in the right direction...if there's enough time...

Mits said...

I probably have to go out to balcony sooner, since I am farther east????

magpie said...

that lady has a nice voice...
she'd make a good dispatcher ☺

Mits said...

yes she does...

magpie said...

I was trying to follow what it was going to be doing in those first nine minutes....sounded pretty busy

Mema Jo said...

Too many trees for me to see clearly
Not running down the yard in my pj's
I'll watch the lift off - I think
Eyes are so heavy.....

Yes, I hope they turn off the cam when Koo isn't there so we don't really know
the outcome. I keep going back to watch Koo and check on him.

hedgie said...

Margy, can you hear mission control?? When they say 900 miles downrange, that's when you want to start watching. I think I remember it being about 9 mins. If you don't have audio, I'll tell you when!

Sounds like a good chance at a go!

magpie said...

I'll have to run around to the back of the apartment building...wonder what the angle above the horizon it will be...Hedgie??

Mits said...

oh I think Koo would be there, but the otheres will be gone....have not seen a parent in a few days.

hedgie said...

Don't think so, Mits, but if you are a little south of us, then yes!

hedgie said...

I'm trying to visualize the map!!! LOL!

Mits said...

think I am south-east of you...

magpie said...

Oh I can hear the NASA site just fine...not watching on television, just the computer.
Go figure..this crazy sound system

hedgie said...

Now NO GO.............DARN IT ALL.

Mits said...

that is strange, Margy

Mits said...

sounds like a go

Mema Jo said...

I think I would need to go to the front of the house.......

hedgie said...

Margy, if the horizon is 0 degrees, then about 60 degrees for viewing.

24 hr. delay....01:05 am Weds.

Goodnight, sweet ones. Thanks for sticking around with me!!! Prayers for all.

Mits said...

everyone but Houston is go for launch

magpie said...

Well, there's the final decision....a No go for the launch...
:(

Mits said...

how come the majority does not rule...lol

Mema Jo said...

Good Night All

Peace to you and yours
prayers for all our needs being offered

((hugs)) ♥

Mits said...

Good night everyone, prayers for all:)...especially Janie...again Happy Birthday, sis:)

magpie said...

Okay - it was enjoyable to be with you fellow scientists...
Try again tomorrow....
Thanks for all the tips, Lynn
I'll still be off one more night for it....
oh well, I got some laundry done and new shower curtain (Mooses, Bears, Loons) hung...

Good Night Ladies...
xo

hedgie said...

1:10 am now they say. Okay...
Mits, I would say about 800 miles downrange for you--maybe even 825.

Jo, east side of your house, scan southeast and follow it on its trajectory to northeast.

Poor astronauts!

Ta ta!

magpie said...

Koo has departed, once again

NatureNut said...

Nuts!! No launch. Have to stay up tomorrow night or get a Big Panda nap like I did today after appts.

Deb, safe journey w/To To. I just read about a rehab place in Denham Iowa called SOAR. Best wishes for Janie. Poor thing---she of all people must know you always wear gloves when dealing w/catfish. Know she will now.

Good morning everyone and happy birthday to the birthday girl. I've been enjoying the Penn. site, so has Jim. Love watching the raccoons at night. Loved the picture of the eagle with the fish in the air too. I'm now on Facebook for those of you on there. Posted a few pictures of my family yesterday. Took me all day to figure out how to do it. Hope everyone has a safe and fun day. I have Christian Women Connection this morning and Red Hats tonight. What a contrast! Bye for now

Good Morning, Sharon & Sissy, Norma, Megan, Wanda & Loretta, and Hi/Bye, Glo!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY MARGARET!!!
(AND MANY MORE!) HOPE YOUR DAY IS A REALLY SPECIAL ONE!!!

Sissy & Sharon, how is Tom doing?
Megan, hope your wrist is improving!
Prayers for Janie, Deb & ToTo, Gabby, and Koo, Belle & Lib, and for our dear Hidey; also for all the kids going to school.

Looks like I missed seeing our eagle pair again this morning. Glad to know they're busy moving the furniture and working on the nest 'tree'. Hopefully I'll catch them eventually.

Was so sorry to hear that they had to postpone the shuttle launch. It's unbelievable how many conditions have to be absolutely perfect for them to launch! It's a wonder they ever get off the ground! Sure hope everything works out for the next attempt.

In about an hour I have to go to the lab and have a routine blood test done, then make a Dr. appt. to discuss the results. Dr. may adjust my medication dosages again.
Trying to get off of one of my blood pressure meds, and onto a different one. Lousy side effects.

Good Morning, Gwen and Deb!

Morning fine fowl friends all. Cool here in Hedgey-ville. And a cricket is chirping outside the basement door. Don't like these hints of fall one bit!

I think Lib and Belle must really be suffering from MT nest syndrome!

Hi, Judie,
Hope your day goes well.

Good morning, Lynn! Hope your osteoporosis IV goes well today, too!

My SIL came by for a bit last evening, and she and BIL are planning to return to Scotland next August or September. Asked if Hubby & I want to go too! We sure do, but not sure if we can afford it. Hope & pray I can find a part-time job, and can arrange time off of school for the trip! So many things we'd like to see that we didn't have enough time for last trip! (I LOVE Scotland!)

Thanks to the late crew for the launch update and cancellation. Bummer
BBL Have to go get cake and flowers from her cat.

Ms Bookworm said...

Thanks, Judie.

I may have a chance to make some money by letting a company put their advertising all over my car.
The pay is better than unemployment, so I'm going to check it out. I guess there's a chance they'll give you one of their cars to drive around with ads on it, too. Hey, I wouldn't mind, as long as it's a decent product they're advertising. Hubby says to sign him up too, if it's a legit deal! His car has mega miles on it; he wouldn't mind driving one of the company's cars! They say you must agree to do the ad thing for a year; wonder if there are any other possible catches to it.

hedgie said...

Andrea, if you go, can I hide in your luggage? It's been just over a year since my cousin went and I haven't seen her pics or the genealogy stuff she gathered YET!!! Maybe she's irritated that I didn't go with her...she was going to pay my way, but I did not feel right at all accepting that!

Hello,

My first block students are writing their American Dream essays and doing a brief exercise.

Judie, I understand your frustration with students being able to download lecture notes without attending class.

When I was teaching college classes, I sometimes gave a brief unannounced quiz or writing assignment the first 30 minutes of class if I noticed people coming in late or not attending. The look on the faces of the late arrivals was priceless.

I offered the opportunity to make the work up during my pre-class office hours the next week, forcing them to come early, but that would be harder to do with the larger classes.

It also seems that the powers that be are trying to force that teacher trick out of existence by making us tell ahead of time when every graded assignment will take place and how much it will count.

I had one psycololgy professor who would not announce any tests ahead of time. It was easy to figure out that they came at the ends of chapters, but I never missed class, just in case. They would not let us do that now.

Andrea, I would love to go to Scotland.

Happy birthday, Mary Margaret.

Our eagles are making frequent appearances now. That is great. Missed them again this morning.

Hi and Bye, Ceil!

Lynn, I've enjoyed listening to the crickets chirp at the nest during the night. No sign of cooler fall weather here this week, though.

Wish we'd get a Super Wal-Mart out here! Daughter in TX has TWO Super Wal-Marts really close to her.
The Target store near us is busy rearranging store fixtures, and will add meat and produce departments soon, though.
