Mits said...

Norma, that storm is so far past FLA, that they will probably only get a tiny bit of rough surf on the NE coast of FLA...yep still at the beach... Bill will pass by us today and tomorrow....dangerous rip currents, rough seas, some coastal flooding...and it is 500 to 600 miles to the east of us.

GOOD MORNING NORMA and all Eaglet Momsters and Dadsters! Yea, Red, great to hear from you!

Norma, don't you just love it when the hummers dive bomb each other. One time we saw one hit the other, it fell stunned to the ground and a blue jay was on it quick. Did not like that!

Loweeda or someone did a rain dance. We have thunderstorms in the area and one passed through and we received 1/2 inch of rain. Wahoo! PTL

We had the back door open to listen to the weather. When the rain stopped Joseph said "Look, you can hear the birds singing now." I was pleased that he noticed!

Shirly, you gave me my first good laugh for the day! Thank you! Yes, you have it easy with the room decor at school. LOL Maybe I can scan some old pictures of my room. It took me two weeks to get ready before inservice. LOL It was a great room! Kids loved it and I did, too! It was colorful, and every inch decorated.

Good morning everyone. I am after coffee and dog treats today. And many many bird pictures here at my house. Caught me a couple of good ones. I so enjoy them. I was going to go out to the barn raising this morning but have been assured the cupolas will not go on today. Earliest will be tomorrow afternoon. so I guess I will head that way then. I agree with one persons comment on my Glo's Glimpses that all we will need once its done is a barn dance. Just might happen ya never know. Dex has actually been quite sick over the last few days, but he started to perk up yesterday and seems to be feeling good once again today so we must make time for a stroll in his chariot at some point today as well. High here today will be 70 maybe with strong north wind. Its cool!!!

Enjoy your day.

Norma MD schools start different dates per county! MD does not have it all together at times! Megan's daughter started this week and my grandsons in Frederick and Baltimore counties start this coming Monday.
I like the excitement of school starting - but wish it would go back to being in September!

Story for you about time passing by:
Grandson Robert took Alexis (Meatball) to her Pre K Orientation last evening to meet the teacher and also the assistant teacher. He was impressed with both of the ladies and so was Alexis. However the Assistant teacher told Robert she had grown up with a Lennox family - ! Small world!
My daughter Kristen had been friends with her forever and my son had gone to school with her sister. I know the family well. Small world - love the connections that happen.

Lolly said...

Saw Jo's name on facebook. Have requested her to be my "friend." Do you suppose she will be my friend? LOL

hedgie said...

Norma, Washington Co., MD schools (where Megans' daughter goes)started this week. Think Jos' county is next week, if I remember what I read in paper correctly.

Lolly, sounds like you are cooking up a storm!!! Glad you are having fun with the boys, but sure that you will be ready for a rest!!

Lolly said...

Oh, Hi Jo! Going to be my friend on facebook?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

And where did you find Jo's name on Facebook? I don't know which one she is!

Lolly said...

Oh, yes, I will be ready to rest. But, guess what?!!! I have been eating poorly with the boys here and I have lost weight!!!!! Being up and active all the time works!

I started gaining weight after I retired, not while I was teaching 5 year olds.

Lolly said...

Oh, no!! It might not be the same Jo Lennox!!!!

Jo are you on facebook? It came up as a suggestion so I figured it was you.

Mema Jo said...

I'm not on yet
Just thinking about it

I have had about 7 invites.. Maybe I'll come in. I might need to come in cause I think in the evening I would find some of my dearest gal friends there. Right?

normabyrd said...

MORNIN! HEDGIE!---Oh yeah!---We had a wonderful RAIN!---We needed it---but it has stopped!---Was POURING here for a while!!--I need a NEW computer--& just keep putting it off!---I know I will be on much more when cold weather gets here!---Can you believe it's FOOTBALL time!---GO COWBOYS! ho!

ARE YOU LISTENING LOLLY???

Lolly said...

Sissy was just on facebook. Said she was working, but I think not! She was on facebook.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

There are videos of Andrew on the WVSU band's facebook! I am so grateful that I can see him like that! He is alive and well!

Mema Jo said...

Don't think there is more then One Jo Lennox.... But there just might be, Heaven forbid!

I wonder what IN DAVE has been up to?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

You are right Lolly. She is not working, just playing!

Lolly said...

Oh, yes! I am listening Norma! However, we can not afford to go to any games. Wow! The prices at the new stadium are unbelievable!!!

But, GO COWBOYS!

Good morning, everyone!

Just popping in for a minute or two to let you know that I won't be here today until some time this evening. Hubby has the day off, and we're spending the day with his sister (as soon as she's finished working for a bit this morning--some kind of conference call). We do this every so often.
Just get together and decide what we're going to do when we meet.
Will maybe go to brunch and a movie, or drive somewhere and just walk around and sightsee. We get all caught up on the latest goings on, and just generally have fun.
I'll be jonesin' to talk to all of you, though, so will be back as soon as I can tonight.
Good thing we won't be home today!
The exterminator never showed up, and we're spraying 'Oust' air freshener and holding our noses. Since we don't want to cancel our "fun day" today, they'll have to reschedule the attic decontamination for Saturday morning. I have a feeling their bug guy is in trouble. The dispatcher tried for 20 minutes to reach him on his phone, but he was yacking with someone, so they got a busy signal. Ruh-roh!
I'll be thinking of you all today; prayers being said for all situations. Take care, and I'll catch you all later! :o]

DALLAS COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Sorry Lolly, but Megan is right, COW PATTIES!!!!!!

hedgie said...

Norma, luv, don't think you need a new puter to get your email....if you can blog, you can mail---you've just gotta get some setting adjusted, I think! Want me to find you a computer geek??
Lolly, FB jsut randomly picks ups names from your emails and throws them in there.....had to ask my daughters about that because I kept getting those messages, and wondered HOW they knew someone was a friend!

hedgie said...

Oh-oh-oh...starting to rain here!!! Yippee!

hedgie said...

Oh-oh-oh...starting to rain here!!! Yippee!

Lolly said...

Need to get busy! Need to get the boys dressed and their laundry done, so I can pack them up. Then need to cook some. Going to make another meal for Laurel's freezer. Doing what I wished someone had done for me....prepare meals for the first week of school. Then I need to start the pizza for this evening. Considered going swimming this morning, but the weather has put a stop to that.

Lolly said...

Now, girls, be nice!!! Have you heard me say anything ugly about your teams? No! Now, be nice!!
LOL I love each and everyone of you, ANYWAY!

Mema Jo said...

You all are fast - I was cleaning up Emails - lots of comments added.

Lolly said...

Well, come on down, Norma!!! I will furnish you with a place to stay, food to eat, and tranportation. You can buy my ticket. LOL

Lolly said...

Oh, I understand, sorry about the mistake. You were talking about gardening.

hedgie said...

Sure am hoping that the rain makes it to Megan's place!!

Lolly said...

Well, I have just unrequested Jo from being my friend. How sad!

Gotta go!

Have a great day! Been fun chatting this morning, even though some of you, and I won't mention names, were not nice.

Back at you later!

I'm watching the radar, and that rain is NOT gonna hit here.

Judie said...

Good morning, everyone. Thank you, Steve and have a nice weekend.

Lolly, love the story. I think when I get to my classes (2 with 100 students each) I'll just walk in and look at them and say "I have nothing to talk about."

Shirley, hope Will is successful with the job search. Talbott's is very nice but too pricey for a blouse to wear under sweaters for school. Glad Suzie has a job and yes, DSW will likely be around awhile. So glad I don't have to decorate my classrooms -- no imagination for such things.

Hi Candy. Sounds like you also are a teacher?

Hi Red, thanks for helping Margie with her sound. Sharon, enjoy Bedford and the band performance. GO SKINS!

Megan, please send rain to VA.

Okay, now back to work after I check the critter cams.

Lolly said...

Yes, Lynn, I know you are innocent. You are my friend. You did not say a bad word about my team. LOL I will remember who was not nice!

Judie, Candy is a kindergarten aide. She is on my end of the education world. Sure wish I had had an aide. Candy and I would have had a ball together. Only help I ever had were high school students who took a special class and volunteers. (and not many of them!)

Some high school students were great, loved them and some were a pain in the tush! Best helpers I had were former students, that when they took this class asked to come back to help me. One boy, Scotty Quionez, said.."I started my education with you and now I want to end my senior year with you." He was the greatest!! Good looking football player and all my little kindergarten girls loved him.

You know, there are a few teams that we detest! But, I am not going to talk ugly about them to my friends that I love. ☺

Norma, I forgot to answer your question. I have not lost weight this summer, but I have not dieted and I have not gained an ounce. My weight has gone up and down within a few pounds. Right now I am at the lowest I have been, thanks to the boys!

I may go back on the diet and work on 10 more pounds, but I am really happy at the weight I am right now.

Laurel is 5' 11" and she is down from size 12 to a size 10. Fantastic! And I am only 20 pounds heavier, but not down to her size! LOL

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, everyone!

Still haven't left--got a call from SIL, and she's still doing conference calls for reasons I can't explain here (but this is quite a story!). MTBR later. We now for sure plan to go to lunch and a movie, and just have a gabfest and get caught up. SIL works practically 24/7, BIL works 3 jobs now--see what I mean? But thank GOD they have those jobs!! In this crazy world, can't complain!
OMG!!! Our live cam is working?!!!
THANK YOU, NCTC/FWS and Steve for getting it going again! So good to see that nest again, Jimson weed and all! I wonder, though--will there still be maintenance done on the live cam? If I remember correctly, the cam problem was not at the nest, but an internal transmission problem or something.

Haven't really caught up on the blog, but am just glad to be able to be here! Hubby has gone to Wal Mart to do our usual weekly shopfest. (What fun! Yeah, right.)

Got an e-mail in my regular e-mail from someone at Hubby's work about using vodka to clean shower tile. Says it kills mildew. May try it tomorrow, and if it doesn't work, there may be other ways to use up the vodka. Any ideas? Oh--I'll let you know if it works on tile & grout.

BTW, Megan, I have several hybiscus plants that have finished blooming now. I will cut off the spent flowers tomorrow. Was just wondering what it is you do to get the flowers to turn blue. All of them were pink this year because I couldn't remember what to add to the soil to change the color. If anyone would know, seems like you would, so thought I'd ask. I promise you, I'm praying you'll get some rain!!!
Oh--wanted to suggest, too, that whatever you decide to do with your blue van, you ought to take a picture of it to keep for remembrance. I didn't take a special picture of my Maverick, and now I could kick myself!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Bob,

Congratulations! That's a really good picture! Love the perspective in it.

Thanks, Megan, for mentioning cow patty tea. I do need to fertilize my patio plants to give them a new lease on life! Still hoping & praying you get rain!

hedgie said...

Congrats, Bob! That is just great. It's a good pic, for sure, but not my fav of the three, either! Guess it's all in the eye of the beholder=judge!!!! Good luck with the book entries!

Lolly, you know how I feel but since I love you and Norma so much, I am trying REALLY hard to keep my big mouth shut!!!! But, like Megan, it is a bad word here, too!!

floralgirl said...

Do you mean hydrangea? Making the blooms blue has to do with the ph level of your soil and how much aluminum is in the soil. Just google how to turn hydrangea blooms blue and you'll find many sites that explain how to do it.
Hey Bob, congratulations!!

Well, It is going to be a Silent Summer here at the computer for awhile longer, fixes haven't worked yet :( thanks to Red for the suggestions and others as well...where there is a will, there is a way !

Meanwhile, if you want to see how Cows keep it cool in West Virginia, you can visit my Fun and Dandy link. I also put up some Wildflowers - though there are so many yellow flowers out these days I might be identifying them wrong! And finally, Magpie's Roost has some views of my Megan Flowers ☺ - Afraid the scorching sun and heat has taken a bit of a toll, but I have enjoyed them Soooooooo much.

My back arrows to where you came from do not take you back, so it is cumbersome journey, but I hope you enjoy the latest adventures from my camera.

I need to catch a little Cat Nap before heading in for a 12-hour shift tonight.

Prayers for our new needs and all the ones we have had for awhile. ☺

I think you will especially like the Cardinal flowers and the Spicebush on the Joe-Pye Weed ☺

All three are just fantastic!

Pizza meatballs are in the freezer and pizzas are in the oven. Will cook them part way and then finish cooking them at Laurels. She will be thrilled with two meals and possibly three for next week.

Going to go outside for one more water fight with the boys! Man the hoses boys!!

paula eagleholic said...

Nevermind! I see now it was the first picture. Congrats!

We had some rain here!

Vinegar cleans grout...just don't leave it on for very long, it will eat through it. Use full strength.

paula eagleholic said...

And Tilex with bleach works good on the shower tile grout as well.

paula eagleholic said...

Margy, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your sound card. Not physically, but throught the add/remove hardware section of your control panel.

paula eagleholic said...

Back to work, TTFN.

hedgie said...

Back up to 80 again....a bit steamy when the sun is out, but intermittant clouds....hope there is more rain to come.

Vodka- to clean grout- say it ain't so...Do you drink the vodka and scrub the grout?? not sure how that works.

magpie said...

You drink the vodka and forget all about the grout !

magpie said...

Sounds like no appetite problems for GeeGee Wanda ! Wonderful...

Lynn the cows were in the pond on Consiler Road, which runs between Calvary Hill Rd and Back Creek Valley Rd.....love that farm ! I want it !!!

magpie said...

I have to tell you, that I bought Marigold plants from Megan which indicated they would go three feet tall ! And they did! I just forgot to remember, that I have flower pots to put these in and all my plants, because they were so very healthy and germinated with the Master Gardener's touch...(floralgirl) - became Pot Bound....so next time, I guess I will have to plan just a little differently. When I go out to water, it is me, my watering can, and a dozen gallon containers of water..(well, I do four at a time...)
It's been a blessing.
Thanks Megan, over and over again !

magpie said...

That Consiler Road , Lynn..is still untouched by any developments, many large farm fields, so wonderful....

Calvary Hill Road is nice too....
wonder how long it will last...

Paula :
I did gaze upon the instructions for the hardware portion of the computer....I am afraid to touch it until after this Birthday Project is complete for my brother...can't afford to lose my family connections until after that...so September 7 - Labor Day - might be my day for Labor on that !
Thanks for the suggestion...

Holy Tomato!
Here it is Friday and I failed to mention about wearing RED today....
it should have popped into my mind when I saw dear Red pop on this morning..

Hi everyone and blessings all around. I'm viewing the little panda and checked on the adults and have a question - may be a stupid one, but a question nonetheless. Am I seeing a tail on the baby? Do adults have tails and I'm just not seeing them?

I'm way behind on the blog due to storms. I shut down and up again. That can't be good for the 'puter.

Later ...
Go Steelers!

Congrats Bob! I'm camera illiterate but I appreciate good photos. Good luck with your other entries.

Dana, I'm jealous. Did you happen to see Troy? I love the way he plays football.

Lolly, our SIL is a Cowboy fan and we are constanting giving him a hard time. heehee He's married to an Eagles' fan and step-father to a Raiders fan. We're very diversified.

If anyone needs a friend on facebook, I'm there too. Happy to be friendly.

Now, I must go .... soon have to think of something for hubby to eat after work.

Love that little Panda. Just want to cuddly him ..... later.

Hi there - Hot dogs with Mustard for dinner! Raining/storming right now.
Now sure there is enough lightening to reduce the humidity! It's been a very lazy Friday!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Hey, eagle and panda buds! I am at the lake working at the marina. I was just sitting thinking about the beauty of it all and how blessed I am and how much I love my job, and an osprey flew right in front of where I am sitting!! Now, how cool is that!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Now this is what I call a great work environment!

ceil said...

Evening everyone. Margy I know you are at work but I lol when I read your comment about drink the vodka and forget the grout.
I forgot to where red today and I was in the card store buying a card for my neighbors step grandson who will be going overseas soon. He just graduated from the Marines. The lady at the card store was so nice. She went in the back and got out the Veterans Day cards. Of course I picked the one with the eagle on it. I'm rambling. BBL

Mema Jo said...

Sissy - doesn't sound as though it could get much better!

ceil said...

Sounds like it is raining at the nest. It is about to storm here.

stronghunter said...

Hi Jo,
Had my mustard today on a bratwurst. They fed us again today at school, then gave us all of the final instructions for the beginning of the new school year. It is terribly hot and humid here. I came home and noticed that all of the plants in my hanging pots in the front yard were wilted, so I went out to water everything there. I took it for awhile, and then came in. It’s bad when it is too hot to stand there holding a hose.

stronghunter said...

I had a terrible time logging on this time. Kept getting a message that my password was wrong. I finally put on my glasses and tried again. I can't believe I was wrong all of those times. Strange.

Mema Jo said...

Shirley You may have had your caps lock on.... That will do it.

stronghunter said...

Lolly--Just so you know, I have $91in new posters on order! They should arrive this weekend, and I will go in early to put them up.

It is not so easy to get posters for secondary classrooms. I end up ordering online. Got one really cool one for the floor.

No, I admit that I do not spend two weeks ahead of the teacher days decorating. You beat me on that one. I would love to see pictues of your room. I am sure it was grand.

I have great respect for elementary teachers. Did a little subbing for fifth grade, and their lesson plans were so different from what I was used to, I had to ask the principal to explain.

I am just pleased that the administrator at the high school approved my syllabi. She did not approve everybody's. Kind of frustrating--she did not tell people what she was looking for ahead of time, just put sticky notes on their stuff and returned it.

Now I have to get approval from the college. Not making copies of those things until I know. I have to use enough paper as it is.

Tornado warnings in some parts of Maryland. I hope everyone is okay.

paula eagleholic said...

Wow, looks so light at the nest...dark here, but not much rain yet...on the edge of the storm. Tornado warning out for central Howard county now. That would be east of Frederick by 30 minutes or so.

stronghunter said...

Maybe I did have cap lock on, Jo. I don't know. Good thought.

Mits said...

Before I have to shut down I just wanted to say they don't learn. At noon today the high school around the corner was having football practice. I thought that only mad dogs and English men where out in the midday sun. Which catagory are these guys?

Andrea I read your comment about "vodka cleaning tile & grout", omgoodness I was seeing your tongue stuck to the tile since
it wouldn't clean it you decided to make use of the vodka.

Bob such a great photo. Although your least favorite bet your happy you did submit that one with the other 2. ( :
