Norma, I am always an early riser. I just don't hop on here first thing like I used to. Have a lot of odds and ends to do before I join my friends on here:)
I hadn't tried Live Feed yet but no it is not working here either... but I am seeing birds everywhere! Finney's Water nest, Loch of the Lowe's, Cape Coral, BWO - Pix PA !
and I'm stopping there for now!
I love the morning too.... Must go do a little reading now, get my head on straight for the day.
hey and I work at a womans shelter as many of you know. I have put a new client with 14 kids on the board for my co-workers to dea with today. I shall just go quietly out the door in about 35 minutes.
Guess you have to work here to see how that will strike my co workers this am. I agree its not really very funny but it would get downright comical to try to deal with for any staff person on so many levels. We don't hold rooms either but I have put a sign on this one that says I told Dr Phil we will hold it til 4/1/2027
Good rainy morning fowl friends. Getting a really late start today...because I ended up being up until amost 3 doing some investigative work for Mr. Bill. Just now getting the papers read. Looks like some promising Finney visits...Suz sent out some good pics! Norma....shouldn't we all be so lucky...LOL...like they would KNOW who had a winning ticket before YOU did!!! Glo, know that it's a serious situation----did you have bed space for that big a fqamily??...but my first thought was OCTOMOM, too!
3/31/2009 :: And Then There Were Five! At approximately 10:00 AM the fifth egg was laid. This is the fourth year this female has produced a clutch of five eggs. Egg production is largely dependent on nutrition. High numbers of prey species and healthy ecosystems are key to providing this nutrition as well as the great amount of food that will be needed to feed the young as they grow and develop. I was watching Okla last night, and two eggs looked good...had also read about the Mom Eagle hiding them and the Dad eagle uncovering them, thought I was going to see some of that action last night but I didn't...
Sigh....That baby and OUR baby have something in common....
Lynn, I got an email from my grandaughter last night, so I am relieved to know she wasn't in the accident on Rt. 9.
This morning, I go to Winchester to get my "girls" photographed and an exam from head to toe from my gynecologist. Sooo glad this only happens once a year:) Going to reward myself with a lobster dinner at Red Lobster. Might even give Capt. Gene a lobster for taking me and being so patient:) BBL
Hedgie we have 2 bedroom units so in the case of more than 4 kids yes we would let her have both bedrooms in the unit and well sadly the older ones are used to that already.
As I was passing out meds to one of our clients this morning it was hilarious to watch her try to read the Board as our clients love to be the first to know when someone new is coming and how many kids she has EVEN though it is the Staff board and not really their business. It is color coded as well and I think the detective in them likes to try to figure out what the colors mean too. I got my chuckles and the staff who releived me loved it. She is going to keep it up all day if she can. If we need to room I guess we move to plan 2 LOL.

Babysit in Denton tomorrow afternoon with my boys. Love picking up Jacob from school. He yells and runs to me! :)
I guess they are working on our cam. That is so exciting. I thought the picture on the video yesterday was very clear and can hardly wait for sound.
Deb, how are you feeling? Read yesterday where you were not feeing too well. Hope you are better.
WANDA...are you and the Capt. taking a trip this year? You should come see us! We will probably head to OK in a couple more weeks. I am thinking after Easter. Going to check out the eagle nest!
OK, I have written a book! LOL Have a wonderful day....I plan on in!
Just opened NBG, got a good look at the triplets being fed, then it froze and then went black. They are really having problems. Wonder if it is because of the heavy use. ?????
Poor little 3rd eaglet in CO. He was behind the other two and it was almost a comedy act. He would get his head up and then plop over. Get in place again.. then plop over. Time and time again. I was saying feed him, feed him, then decided talking to the computer is not healthy!
No, you can click on live cam and get it. When I go to it it has two still views, down into the nest and the side view. When I click live cam, it goes to live of the side view.
my Maine #1 has sound, but Maine #2 does not...trying to get tiny url, but it is not working for me,,,,Deb when you get a chance can you post it, or Paula, thanks

we had our monthly meeting at zoo last night, we had it at the Reptile Discovery Center, the bldg is a historical one, it was very interesting, got to see them feed a komodo dragon, named Murphy

Cherry blossoms looked beautiful on TV yesterday....cam today looks really pale due to gloom. So, keep checking every day for the next week and hopefully you can see them in sunlight! Of course, from a distance the color doesn't show as much as it does up close.
funny comment on BWO with a blue link to the picture of the Ospreys mating this morning...."the female seems to be in the wrong position, maybe an April Fool's Day Joke...
I hadn't even noticed that when I looked at the pictures earlier..
I noticed the band, but both Osprey have somewhat of a band. You can see it now with both of them in the nest. The male's is just not as dark. Picture just changed, I'll post it on Nest Pictures.
Local gals: Butlers' Farm Market on Dry Run Rd. opens for the season tomorrow! Bulk mulch, flower baskets, jams and jellies, etc. My favorite place to go for produce in the summer. Old family friends of my ex and his family, and my former neighbors.
i Guess somebody mentioned it already, but in case they didn't...
Pelican's Harbor might be hatching their first now ... whichever adult is setting on the eggs keeps getting up and checking under 'whichever's' body.
Both of PH's are due soon, AND WE's hatchling(s) are due before long too.
There are other nests off camera, which could hatch soon as well; so Dr. Sharpe and Steffi and the crew will be busy for a while. At least they don't have to do all the switching with the fake eggs this year.
You know, I mentioned yesterday that the female Osprey usually guards the nest and arranges the materials, while the male brings in the sticks, etc., and the fish for the female. But the BWO pair looks to be doing a reverse role thing this year.
Now look at the "April Fools Day (?)" picture Lisa has posted on the site!

ATLANTA UPDATE....
Wednesday, April 1
I just wanted to give a quick update for everyone who didn't see Xi Lan on PandaCam yesterday morning. Even after only one day outside, Xi Lan has become comfortable enough to completely explore the entire outdoor yard. He seems to be having himself a good ole time. Instead of just looking at things and noting their positions, he is actually interacting with the things he comes across. We noted him climbing the tree limbs bolted to the climbing structure that extend upward to the upper deck. He climbed higher than the deck on the tree limb, but did not get off at that floor. Instead, he simply went back down after a short while to continue exploring. He was then seen rolling in the large pile of straw in the center of the exhibit that was left over from baby-proofing. While he was rolling, we saw him self- anointing himself. This is a behavior done by pandas when they come across a smell they enjoy or that is new to them. They do this by rolling in the scent and rubbing their arms and paws over the top of their head and body, thus covering themselves in this new incredible scent. Yang Yang is often seen doing this with his favorite scent item, Tabasco. After Xi Lan was all scented up, he continued his adventure in the moat, climbing down with apparent ease. While down there, he decided to attack the drain grate at the bottom of the moat. I don't know if he actually won the battle, but the grate didn't seem phased. After the long, heated battle, he returned topside just as we were giving him access to the dayroom. It didn't take long for him to wander in and in pure young panda fashion, quickly dozed off for a nice long nap.

Okay Wanda ! ☺
I've just been lurking a bit for the past week. Today I go back to visit my lung doctor for a checkup. I think theres been an inprovement but hardly noticable. He'll probably say to continue my medication.
I am glad to hear of a little improvement, Red, it might take a while longer for the full benefits to kick in.
Morning, all.
Live feed down here too. Chicklet was alone, parent just arrived.
Well I didn't have any problem with the worm virus, but someone sent me the cold and sore throat virus!!
Good Morning All! I wish it would have been true for you Norma about the lottery. Then I know you would have gotten that trip to Alaska !
I guess we will need to keep checking our Live Feed - would be great if they were working on the new hook up!
** GOOD MORNING **
** TO YOU ALL **
I believe NBG is feeding the chicks. As soon as the adult rose up, you could see the oldest one's head and neck whipping back and forth. And she got about one good peck in, when the other two went down, acting like they were dead!

ok that link did not work..
GOOD MORNING! Going to be another beautiful day. Presently 58, going up into the 70's. Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler.
Another day to work in the yard. I have several more containers to fill with flowers. May have to wait for a little warmer weather for some. Our 300 caladium bulbs do not arrive for several more weeks. Ground needs to be warmer for them.

CHERRY BLOSSOMS
ok that looks like it will take you to the Tidal Basin cherry blossoms
Just opened NBG, got a good look at the triplets being fed, then it froze and then went black. They are really having problems. Wonder if it is because of the heavy use. ?????
MAINE #2 eagle looks like she may be on an egg, been laying there since I brought it up this a.m.
Our chicklet is back alone with EggBuddy
Thanks for the view of the cherry blossoms. Would love to see that for real....someday!

Live feed is down.
Both parents our nest
Both adults in our nest
Looks like Belle is feeding Hidey now
Lolly Maine #2 looks right down into the nest, the side view is not showing this a.m.
Poor little 3rd eaglet in CO. He was behind the other two and it was almost a comedy act. He would get his head up and then plop over. Get in place again.. then plop over. Time and time again. I was saying feed him, feed him, then decided talking to the computer is not healthy!
That is funn! Because my live feed was the side view!
Hornby Is. nesting eagle looks like she is sparkled with diamonds! The wide view is on today - yesterday it wasn't running.
MAINE #2 nest is a still cam.
Mits, I went back to Maine 2 and all I get when I click the live cam is the side view. They must do both, depending on when you get on.
No, you can click on live cam and get it. When I go to it it has two still views, down into the nest and the side view. When I click live cam, it goes to live of the side view.
It is live, with sound.
my Maine #1 has sound, but Maine #2 does not...trying to get tiny url, but it is not working for me,,,,Deb when you get a chance can you post it, or Paula, thanks
It is live with sound for a second, I should say. Because it freezes then goes black. Probably lots of viewers.
Maine 2 has both a still cam and a live cam:
Maine 2
The top picture updates every 15 seconds, the bottom one is the live feed.
Sorry Mits, I would post it for you, but I have misplaced my instructions for making a tiny URL. In my desk some where!
thanks, Deb, my Maine #2 does not have sound, wonder why?
Good morning everyone! Five falcon eggs again. Such beautiful birds!

Very good Lolly!

I don't have sound at Maine 2 either, I think it did before. I e-mailed and asked if it was set up to switch the top view to the live view. I will let you know if I get an answer.
Lolly, I feel fine today!
Keep dropping those unwanted pounds, Lolly. Proud of your perseverance.
Sharon - who all did you get for April Fool's day? lol The one about the broken leg for some reason hits me the wrong way! lol
I am going in to recliner to put the leg up with some ice.. still swells a good bit when I use it!

I love the name for the new gorilla baby girl... KIBIBI
The name, pronounced kee-BEE-bee, means "little lady."
Hasn't started to rain here but looks like it could at any minute. Hidey is safely tucked under the wing.
Now I think I had said I was going to put my leg up..... Here I Go!
Hi ya' late comers!

Guess I was looking at the wrong part of the picture, Mits... ☺
Where is my mind these days ! :)

Noticed it quite some time ago and kept forgetting...
We have Oriental Maples on the street where I live and they are all blossomed out in pink and white
Okayu, going back to my digital camera instructions now.
Two Osprey were at a very sunny Kentucky nest, now just one big one
Two at BWO now Osprey that is, and they look like they are in the correct position for action !
Tai Shan is being very vocal today:)
I noticed the band, but both Osprey have somewhat of a band. You can see it now with both of them in the nest. The male's is just not as dark. Picture just changed, I'll post it on Nest Pictures.

Sorry, had that backwards. Belle left to the right, Lib arrived from the left! At present he is on the right!
Confused yet?!
I'm just wondering outloud, Mits. It's free and looks pretty easy to set up! I thought about suggesting it to Steve. Guess we'll find out soon enough!
Got my strawberry Halls and cold-eeze today, and soup for lunch, and tylenol and...etc etc.
HAS ANYBODY SEEN THE NEW THREAD AND NEW INFO?

Local gals: Butlers' Farm Market on Dry Run Rd. opens for the season tomorrow! Bulk mulch, flower baskets, jams and jellies, etc. My favorite place to go for produce in the summer. Old family friends of my ex and his family, and my former neighbors.
snow at Kent nest
yeah, it is all there ready to go, already have it in my favs
i Guess somebody mentioned it already, but in case they didn't...
