NORFOLK "REBELS' are on their own this am-!!---youngest picked & picked & finally carried over a green pine twig to his sibling!!------(like kids playing house)
I watched PERCY/HIEDY yesterday & that little 'IMP' was on the edge peering down---most of the afternoon!!---I think (hope)he knows his boundaries!!! ho!
Rained all night, but it has stopped now. However, we may blow away today. If you look at OK you can see white caps on the lake. I believe it! Anyway, watch OK cam and in a little while you may see me blow by!
Oh, I'll wave and I'll smile so all of you can get a good pic. LOL
Eating breakfast right now, but dressed and ready to head out. It will take us about 20 minutes to get there, leaving in about 30 min. So, look for me in about an hour! Wearing jeans and a grey Bar Harbor sweatshirt. Just want you to know it is me when I blow by!
Good Morning All! I've got the OKLA site up and that water looks as though it has risen from last night's storm. That lightning was fierceful looking. It was great communicating with you Lolly! It made me remember the incident of Sharon in the ER hallway! Laptops are great! I don't know how good of a raft builder Jack is but that water looks rough!!
Hey There! I think that it is an ongoing 'joke' that we would see Lolly & Jack on a raft. It all started just in fun - I mean I am watching but I don't expect to see them floating down on a raft.
Dropping by to say hi to everyone in Blogtown. Our little one is getting big...my oh my. I guess thats how its supposed to go, but they sure grow up fast and then well....but thats a ways away yet. Enjoy your day.
OKLA: Those wires don't look so safe for eagles to be flying onto that pole! For a lake that is very turbulent water. Sure looks as though the adult could blow right off that pole......
Today Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain showers in the morning...then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph.
You could see that there is land near the nest area. I just don't think they would allow anyone to thread on it as it is so near the nesting eagle! Maybe the adult is standing guard lol... I wonder who zooms the cam - Maybe Lolly & Jack have found someone there.
Morning paper!---WV Man has written a book--'LIVING WITH THE DEVIL'S DAUGHTER'----published--& for sale in Keyser WV!!----He blames her for everything---(he takes on the COURT being parshall to WOMEN in Court)---Most men feel this way!!----
(this is the court i worked with for 25 plus years!)
I will see y'all later today...going to a hospital "past and present" reunion. It's been 31 yrs. since I left there...haven't seen some people in that long! Should be fun...and there will be food! TTFN!
Hellloooooo! Did you see us? We were kidding about the raft. We were actually in a submarine. Did you see our periscope? Had a lot of tree stumps to dodge!
Nest is actually on a very large lake. What we can see on the cam is a overflow on the lake connected to the lake with a culvert under the road.
The road we were on is to the left of the nest and cam. The lake was on both sides of the road and the wind was STRONG. I could hardly stand up!
The nest can hardly be seen with the naked eye. With the binoculars we could see the white head of the eagle in the nest.
We saw both eagles flying. Then one eagle came to the top of the pole near us and the road. I think you were watching and from your comments they were roving with the cam. I have pictures and will tell you when I get them uploaded. Nothing spectacular but it was very exciting and I LOVED it! Oh, and Jo while there I stated to Jack, "How can that eagle stay on the top of that pole?" The wind almost blew me over. I went to the van away from the wind and leaned on it to watch the eagles.
Nature called and we came home. I want to go back if the weather improves.
It was very interesting set up. The nest is very high, 50, 60, 70 or so feet up. Impossible to estimate from our distance. A cable goes from the nest to a pole near the shore, then to another pole further up the hill and then to the pole at the top of the hill. We think that is where the second cam is located and it has a powerful lens!!
If you look at a map, Sooner lake is north of HWY 15, and the nest is south of the road.
I am going to leave and start up loading pictures. There is a power plant on the north. I think last night when they were looking at the sky, one time it showed the power plant.
Yes Norma we went over for coffee and dog treats this morning and pretty much every morning. Dex isn't feeling so well today so pretty much just came home to sleep now. Its rainy and cold and he looks like he needs the rest.
Hedgie I am submitting the Swan at the top of Glos Glimpses for the next contest which is first thurs in April. I have been out with the camera though and do have the start of another Glos Glimpses i will post int he next day or two.
Both adults in OKLA nest with eaglet Don't know if I missed any raft going downstream or not LOL....... Anxious to hear from Lolly/Jack when they return to the camp grounds this evening.
Pictures are posted. Such as they are. Will try to crop and post better pictures when I get home.
Yes, we were there when both were away from the nest. One time they were both on the same pole, the one with the cam.
Loretta, love your pictures! One shows the sun coming out. It keeps peeking out and then going away. And, you can see us in that one pic....can't you see our periscope sticking up out of the water?
Jack is snoring now, but we will go back this afternoon.
Anna - the Eaglet hatched on March 14th...5 weeks old as of yesterday. We think he was hatched from the third egg laid by this pair...the first two didn't hatch.
Forgot to give you the update on SIL Joey. He walked the whole 12 hours. 103 laps around the track,25.75 miles. Laurel walked approx., 10 miles. Laurel and the boys stayed til midnight. The boys walked some, too. Laurel is sore. Joey has blisters on his toes and one on the bottom of one foot. His goal was $1,000, he raised $900.00. They recognized him over the loud speaker at 8 hours into the walk. Hope they publish it in the paper.
Hey Lolly, those pics are great. I think they were zooming in with the cam when the eagle was on top of the pole...not quite sure, will have to go back and look at the video....might have looked like eagle was on a pole out in the water, unless that's just how the angle made it look.
I can see the nest in the first picture....you got some good shots, even got the eagle flying! Great job!
Getting windy out now... Guess it will bring in the rain. Nest WeatherTonightShowers likely in the evening...then showers after midnight. Lows in the mid 40s. East winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent. MondayShowers in the morning...then showers likely in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 50s. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent. Monday NightShowers likely. Lows in the upper 40s. Southeast winds around 5 mph. becoming west after midnight. Chance of rain 70 percent. AMEN Miss you Mits!
Evening all. Just spoke to Mits. She said Hi. They will be back tomorrow. Loretta loved your pictures. Lolly saw you and Jack go whizzing by. Told Helen about the feather incident yesterday with Hidey. I am still laughing.
WHoo Hoo! You surely must have found a Bird Nerd Heaven!!! lol Take your time and relax a little! Things are well.. Check out Lolly and Loretta's pics.
Good evening all. Loved all the pics, Lolly and Loretta. Everybody having fun! Deb, let us know when you post some pics...sounds like you hit paydirt! Nice reunion.....good fellowship and meal, and one of our locals docs serenaded us with his violin, which was not too impressive. A few intermittant sprinkles here, and east wind is chilly. Jo, saw your beautiful church on the news...we need a field trip there, too!
I don't have that many pictures, most of the day was cloudy and very dreary. I am caught up on e-mail and blog, have to feed everyone, then pictures to look at from Lolly and Loretta.
Now I have to report about our afternoon. We had so much fun! We went back to the nest. Eagle was in the nest, but did not see an eagle flying around. Two cars stopped, both local eagle watcher/lovers. Both told us where to find more nests and one man gave us his map. Talked with his wife. She may join us! She watches cams!
So, off a VERY MUDDY road we went. We saw three more nests. One had one young eagle in it. He was eating. Looks like he could fledge soon. Got a picture. Then we went to another nest and very shortly after locating it a raptor flew out of the nest. My impression was it was not an eagle. It happened so fast....we will never know. On to the third nest. It was quiet far away. However, when watching it a bird carrying "something" flew into the tree.
I will post pictures. Will let you know when they are up. We also saw other "wildlife". We took a picture. Do not worry we were safe in the van. I must say though that this is the first time either Jack or I have seen something so dangerous in the wild.
We are, of course, back "home" and enjoying an evening of relaxation. We have decided not to stay another day, but go somewhere else for tomorrow nite. This RV park is not the best to sit outside and relax.
Lolly - your laptop is doing great! Did you all eat in or out tonight? Did the other 'eagle watchers' give you any good hints as to where to go tomorrow?
Oooh, Lolly, that is a very pretty snake, but the van was a good place to be. I want to see a Prairie Rattler so bad, but I want to be safe in my vehicle, too. I have seen them swimming the Missouri, but we couldn't see them very well. I was the only one who wanted to get close enough to see them better. I have, of course, seen dead ones on the road, but that's no fun. I saw my first garter snake of the year the other day, they are cute.
Parent just flew off the Okla nest, and the other cam is panning around, just showed the power plant, all pink looking in the sunset... looked the parent had some kind of knick on its beak, right side, but maybe it was food.
Jo, we ate in. We always do unless we are on the coast and then we like to eat out to get seafood.
Tonight we just had hamburgers. We are leaving here in the morning as this is not the best RV park. We are going to head home in the morning, stopping around noon at a state park. We will spend the rest of the day and the evening there. Maybe get some hiking in. It will be steaks tomorrow night and a bottle of wine. And, probably no internet.
That's some heavy duty nest keeping at Okla...and now I don't see what I saw a few mins ago on parent's beak That 10-second delay between the two cams is pretty neat!
I have had fun sharing the pictures with you. Just wish you had all been on this "field trip." Now, you all go Tuesday and have a GREAT time.
The wife of one of the men who helped us today may start watching our nest. I invited her to the blog. She watches the OK cam and some others and she said she had blogged a little.
Time for me to head to bed, also. I am going to relax and read. I am off to another Prairie Chicken place tomorrow, a tour sponsored by the Nebraska Parks near Creighton, NE.
That is where the "missing" family was from. Mom and Dad are in lots of trouble over that and will probably both be off to prison when the trials are over. They are facing charges in NE and in SD.
GOOD MONDAY MORNING TO ALL FEATHERED FRIENDS OUT THEE. Just checking in to let you know that my computer is down and we are having a person come to see if he can fix it. Can't believe that I just got back on here to chat and my computer went poop. You all have a nice day today watching everything and chatting. I am back at school after Easteer Break.

Has anyone checked the DUKE nest!---She is doing a lot of squirming around----but has her back to me----think #3 is hatching??
Morning Hedgie & NOrma!!
I thought Duke had 3...haven't checked it lately!
Parent just flew in!
Parent brought fluff....Hidey is chirping for food!
Think it's Lib...and off he went...
Hidey laying in the bowl now.
Hidey is playing w/ a big hunk of fluff
PAULA---I am not that familiar with the DUKE site!----2 have hatched---but they say they are expecting #3---(some sites aren't up to date)??

Hi, Paula. Hidey is just too brave. And there's no way he's going to stay under fluff..LOL! Independent little one.

The OREGON EAGLE is on the nest!--

Eating breakfast right now, but dressed and ready to head out. It will take us about 20 minutes to get there, leaving in about 30 min. So, look for me in about an hour! Wearing jeans and a grey Bar Harbor sweatshirt. Just want you to know it is me when I blow by!
Hey Norma! We finished the wine! Jack got more than me. Boo Hoo! Dern diet! It settled down, did not need to hit the G&T after the wine. Ha!
WOW!---HEDGIE---Wouldn't that be fun??----You & PAULA need to have your cameras ready!!!!!!!
Oh, and as for the kind of boat......Jack has built us a raft!
So watch for the raft. It will pass by very quickly!
Look at that crop and those feet!!!
Oh, I know! We can take a rope and lasso one of those tree stumps in the water. Then we could stop right there.
At the rate he's growing there soon won't be room in the nest for Belle or Lib unless they just perch on the edge!
That is one big fat bird! Would be interesting to compare him to the tripets from last year at the same age.
Triplets! Ohhhh!
Lolly, so you two are now Tom and Huck, right?
Nice to see the adult in the OK nest protecting her baby from the wind.
We will be heading out shortly!
See ya later, gators! Hopefully with good pictures.
Have a great day!
Good Morning All!
I've got the OKLA site up and that water looks as though it has risen from last night's storm. That lightning was fierceful looking. It was great communicating with you Lolly! Going to check emails from Germany Gal!

Eaglet is getting stronger everyday. Enjoy watching Eaglet grow. Educational.
23rd is only 4 days away...what a joyous day for that family. Only hope and pray that they are all up to the tasks ahead.
Welcome, Shirley. We think our eaglet is quite adorable!
Forgot to say Hi, Jo! Welcome, Shirley.
Good Morning Those In Eagleland
Norma may I correct the names please of HH
1 is GJ
2 is MG
3 is DS
They are the inititials (sp) of the maintenance and cam operators for OK cam.
I'm thinking of this raft that Lolly and Jack will be on. That river sure looks rough. Prayers of safety for them both.
DANA---Thanks for the correction!
I have written correctly on my note pad----ho!
HAS ANYONE SEE LOLLY & JACK?---I have been watching????
Nothing yet Norma
Hey There! I think that it is an ongoing 'joke' that we would see Lolly & Jack on a raft. It all started just in fun - I mean I am watching but I don't expect to see them floating down on a raft.
How far up river were they putting in the water?
I thought OK was on a lake...
It is....on Sooner Lake
Well it is a lake looking like a raging river !
Not sure I would want to navigate that lake with all those tree stumps!
OK mom sure trying to keep little one warm today! Hard to cover them up when they get that big!
Oh cool switch, one out, other one in.
Hidey Is going to town with moving the fluff!
I see they still have one egg in the OK nest
Hmmm Maybe that was Dad out and Mom in. Hope they got to see that nice switch.
When you look at the head feathers of the OKLA eaglet - he could pass as Hidey's sibling! lol
Sleep Creek Lake has a lot of stumps and trees sticking out like that. You really wouldn't want to be on that lake on a rough day like this.
Hi Dana.
Didn't Lolly say that the nest site was about 20 miles from their camp? I don't know whether it's a lake or a river....
OKLA eaglet sure wants to hide under the adult! Windy up there but it is 53°
It's a lake, Hedgie.
OK parent gone...
I feel that the LAKE is on Out-of-bounds territory just like our barn area is at the Sycamore.
Lolly said they would get some good pics for us.
LOLLY'S last comment was at 10:30----LEAVING SHORTLY!!!
Oh, Ok, a lake..thanks, Paula.
I guess they leave the trees in manmade lakes for fish habitats, and then trunks are used to navigate around them!
Come back soon!! He is staying hunkered down!
Our WV cutie pie is just sitting there waiting on lunch I think!
HH---is feeding her motley crew!---They are too--too CUTE!!
I was watching the 3 Duke Farm eaglets
Their egg well is sooooooo deep that it holds all 3 of them now.
LOLLY mentioned lassoing a tree stub!----JACK built the raft!!!
Dropping by to say hi to everyone in Blogtown. Our little one is getting big...my oh my. I guess thats how its supposed to go, but they sure grow up fast and then well....but thats a ways away yet. Enjoy your day.
Duh..it says Sooner Lake right there on their page!! Observant, aren't I??
Hi, Glo! When's the next judging of your pics?
Love that wide view on the OKLA cam #1
Zoomed in on adult at OK now...
OKLA: Those wires don't look so safe for eagles to be flying onto that pole!
For a lake that is very turbulent water.
Sure looks as though the adult could blow right off that pole......
MORNIN' GLO!---Did you go over for your coffee & treats this am!---You must have been an early bird! ho!
Weather report for OKLA:
Today
Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain showers in the morning...then partly cloudy in the afternoon.
That's a BIG LAKE
Adult is back on the nest with the eaglet in OKLA
Hidey is just waiting patiently for his lunch to arrive.
I think I best go get geared in for my day!

Kidd and Lola Osprey at Conn are using so far black in the nest this year. Time will till if they change colors.
YOU THOUGHT YOU HAD HEARD IT ALL!!!
OK zoomed a little further out shows more of the lakeshore...
Sun out here....gonna go work outside!
DANA---I noticed the black jacket (?) in the CONN nest!! ho!
LOLLY did tell us that they would go by fast!
I will see y'all later today...going to a hospital "past and present" reunion. It's been 31 yrs. since I left there...haven't seen some people in that long! Should be fun...and there will be food! TTFN!
Hidey is looking out from all sides of the nest - guess she is hoping food will be coming soon!
Hidey is sitting upright at the egg well now. Warm out and she is panting.
Eaglet laying down, facing at the 9ish position
Happy Afternoon!
Just saw Hidey---"Look at me. I can do situps!"
Baby is sneezing.
Oh Boy, another snack!
Hellloooooo! Did you see us? We were kidding about the raft. We were actually in a submarine. Did you see our periscope? Had a lot of tree stumps to dodge!

We think that is where the second cam is located and it has a powerful lens!!
Parent in nest w/ Hidey, sitting w/ tail over the launch pad...eaglet has just moved to right in front of adult, facing her
If you look at a map, Sooner lake is north of HWY 15, and the nest is south of the road.
I am going to leave and start up loading pictures. There is a power plant on the north. I think last night when they were looking at the sky, one time it showed the power plant.
Hey, Lolly, maybe you can find the second cam on your next visit...
Were you there when one parent exited and the other cam on the nest?
Didn't realize the nest was so far out. Did you get some pics of EVERYTHING??
Is Hidey picking at food at parent's feet?
Won't be long before the 'drop the fish off and scram' routine starts! :)
Yes! Hidey is eating some fish on his own.
Taking a break from mowing...thought I'd better get it done, probably be way tall after the rains
It's really humid here today!
Your rains today will be ours tonight and tomorro, Glo
Just came back on...
Great to see Hidey picking and feeding herself! Won't be long when she will be mantling the food brought into the nest.
Both adults in OKLA nest with eaglet
Don't know if I missed any raft going downstream or not LOL.......
Anxious to hear from Lolly/Jack when they return to the camp grounds this evening.
Parent not feeding Hidey, so he/she's pecking at food by him/herself.
Been watching OK also. Got pic of whole family---not Lolly & Jack! Will post in a second.
WHOOPS! Now I read back and see that Lolly has returned with a full report!
Anxious to see the pics

Yes, we were there when both were away from the nest. One time they were both on the same pole, the one with the cam.
Loretta, love your pictures! One shows the sun coming out. It keeps peeking out and then going away. And, you can see us in that one pic....can't you see our periscope sticking up out of the water?
Jack is snoring now, but we will go back this afternoon.
When was the little eagle born?
Oh, and when you get to the last pic, don't forget to click on "older posts" to see the rest of the pictures.

NOT fit in the egg well anymore!!!
Parent is gone...Hidey is laying at the back, preening...wind has picked up a little...think the nasty hum is finally gone...
Parent just flew in and of course Hidey/Miracle was looking for food.
No food brought in. Parent pecked around then flew up into tree.
Hidey was just fed around 4:00
Dinner time here...... BBL
Beautiful pictures Lolly and what a great time you two are having.
Loretta loved the pics you posted..( :
Getting some sprinkles here now....temp has dropped and it's a little chilly.
I am home, but need to read blog, e-mail, feed dogs and figure out what is for dinner. We had a good day, 71 kinds of birds!

Hi Ceil - thanks for the update on Mits' return.

Wow Deb, thatsa lotsa birds!
Sure hope Mits had a nice week! Will be nice to have her back! Thanks for stopping in Ceil with an update!
Just saw where the eagle banding at NBG has been postponed due to the weather until Wednesday April 22 Due to the weather.
Will be good to have Mits back...would be even better if she felt recuperated enough to come Tues.!!
Paula, she said it is very hot there today and asked what our weather was like. Told her rain tomorrow and not as warm as yesterday.
I don't have that many pictures, most of the day was cloudy and very dreary. I am caught up on e-mail and blog, have to feed everyone, then pictures to look at from Lolly and Loretta.
ROFLMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!
LORETTA! That picture was so funny! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Lolly - your trip is getting very interesting. Glad you caught up with other 'eagle lovers' - anxious to see your photos.
Going to check out any decent TV shows for the evening
BBL
Quick glance at our nest - Belle has arrived and the night light is on!
BBL
I amgoing to watch Amazing Race, BBl.
I guess Rattlesnake!
Close, Deb!
Almost Deb!
Lolly, you've sure got our interest peaked...what WAS it??? A bear?? A mountain lion?? Bigfoot??
Hope you got a pic of it, whatever it is!!
Belle is being a good mom staying w/ Hidey to keep him dry and warm.
Okey Dokey! Pictures are finally all posted. Had to stop in the big middle and eat!
Thanks for all those pictures, Lolly.
Makes me feel like I was almost there!!
Wish you had been here Jo. We had fun! Seeing the "wildlife" was fascinating. Glad we were safe in the van!
Thanks, Lolly! Great show! "Nice" copper, if there is such a thing as a nice one!
They aren't very cute when they are in your house, Deb. LOL
Parent just flew off the Okla nest, and the other cam is panning around, just showed the power plant, all pink looking in the sunset...
looked the parent had some kind of knick on its beak, right side, but maybe it was food.
Great Reports and Pictures, Lolly xo
Especially when they are in your house and you DON'T know where they are hiding Right, Wanda ????
Jo, we ate in. We always do unless we are on the coast and then we like to eat out to get seafood.
Tonight we just had hamburgers. We are leaving here in the morning as this is not the best RV park. We are going to head home in the morning, stopping around noon at a state park. We will spend the rest of the day and the evening there. Maybe get some hiking in. It will be steaks tomorrow night and a bottle of wine. And, probably no internet.
What a trip Lolly has had! Glad she took us along...I have enjoyed everything except when we were in the submarine, I am clausterphobic:)
Oh my, Jo...when we finally found that snake, I felt the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders!
That's some heavy duty nest keeping at Okla...and now I don't see what I saw a few mins ago on parent's beak
That 10-second delay between the two cams is pretty neat!
CLAUSTROPHOBIC...Took a wild guess and this is the correct spelling. I was way off:)
Jack said not to worry about the submarine. It was a 4 bedroom, 3 bath submarine. OHHHHHHH!!!
Jack also said to tell you, he washed the dishes, took out the garbage and mopped the floor while I was on the blog.
He says he is trying to build his legend. Oh, my, but he is full of it!
I don't want one in my house either, I like them outside where they belong!
Good Golly, Miss Lolly! You said you were going to visit this nest and you sure did! Great Photo-rama.
Both parents were just in nest at Okla now only one, bedtime soon.
Hope everyone has had a good day and week-end...
Thanks for the Mits Reports, Ceil
and Mama you have done admirably with your Meteorology reports..! ☺
Want to hear how Megan's market days went!
Early bedtime here at the Roost, last three work days were busy busy....

Ha Ha Mema - how do you like my new name for you, Mama !
told you awhile back I wanted you to adopt me! xoxo ☺
Margy...time to go to bed! LOL
Both parents are back on nest at Okla...whoops no, both are on the perch now...they seem devoted like our Belle and Liberty are...xo ♥
I have really enjoyed this trip!
Hopefully we'll get another new nester!
I'm considering it Margy!!! Night!
I have some 'sugar free' ice cream but it is P-nut butter flavor so it is good!
BBILW
...yes Mama Lolly ☺
time to flatten some pillow feathers...G'night Everyone..
Night, all!
Happy Hunting, Deb:)
Nite, Margy. Sleep tight.
Time for me to get off the computer. See you in the morning. It has been a great day!
Nite all! Sweet dreams!
Nite Lolly and Jack:)
While I'm at it...
