Liberty brought breakfast in. Belle took it from him. He then flew out of nest. She moved it. Got grass all over it. Fish laying at 6 o'clock. Then she flew up into tree.
Just saw in paper that we have a minister in the area whose name is Sea Raven...interesting...no indication if male or female! Imaginative parents....wonder if she/is is a bird nerd!?!

Funny, I think just the opposite, but it is one of those things we will never know. Aggressive and assertive female!
They weren't tired yesterday, Norma, but after the day I went with 2 men, I thought my arms were going to fall off! They told me it was 15 miles, but come to find out it was 22 miles. They could out paddle me, I was always playing catch up, while they rested. When I would catch up, no rest for me, off we would go again!
DEB!---You are COOL!---First year---(I think)-- we had 3 eaglets in our nest!---1 did not mingle with the other 2---SHE did what she wanted to & when she wanted to!----I continued to say she was female!!----Used to say--I am WOMAN here me ROAR stuff!!---I AGREE with your thinking!!!--SHE HAD SPUNK!!---We still keep her in our thoughts!---She came back to the nest a few times---SHARON has some video of her---not many had cameras that year!! BUT I AM SURE SHE WAS FEMALE!!----ho!
I am glad we have at least one this year, but three are fun to watch. Except for the pecking, I just don't like to watch that.

Decorah eaglets are all flumped out flat in their nest napping.
OKLA eaglet is also growing - all alone in the nest. I do hope Lolly and Jack gets a close view of that nest.

Yes that is the one, Jo. It shows how wide the river gets. It is replacing the Meridian Bridge, I'll look for a picture. I hated driving over the bridge from the south, it was a double decker and you had to go on the top.

I think something is bothering the Osprey in HH again today. The female is upset and has her feathers all puffed out to make her look bigger.

These scam calls are getting irritating. I just got another "we have suspended your ATM card, press one for security department" call. There must be some people who do it, or they wouldn't keep trying.

DEB!---There is a 'do not call site'----I have been on it for a few yrs---If I receive a call---I hold on---give them my name---& tell them I am on the 'DO NOT CALL LIST' & if they call again---I WILL REPORT THEM! no more calls!

The old bridge was supposed to be turned into a historical walking bridge, but now the money is a big problem. The two states are hoping for some stimulus money, but I don't think they will get it. It would create some jobs, but not that many.
Norma, part of that bridge is in NE, I wonder if they helped raise the money, too?
I see what you mean about crossing the bridge on the 'upper level'!

We were on that do not call list too. But the time may have run out. Maybe you have to redo it.
We get nuisance calls from some kids who just hang up. Fubby got a caller ID machine & they're # is not available! Unlisted I guess, so can't inform parents (if there are any!)

I do the same usually, Norma, but this one was a computer, so I just hung up. I almost didn't pick up, since I didn't recognize the number. I reported them to the bank and the police last time, but we don't even have this bank around here.

From what the police told me last time, these callers set up a bank of numbers to make their calls from. Then they use a computer program that calls every possible number in an area code. When they are done, they discontinue the numbers and move on. They don't care if you are on the Do Not Call list, since they are thieves to start with.
It is sad that you have to learn this stuff nowadays.
Deb know what you mean about bridges. The bridge going into San Francisco is a double decker. The Bay bridge going to Helen's in scarey. I just look straight ahead also. When the second Bay bridge was built we were going over the first time. Jim said take a picture. TAKE A PICTURE. I WAS PRAYING. LORD GET ME OFF OF HERE. Have a great day.

It does make you nervous when they get that close to the edge, but the parent is probably right above the nest. There she backed up a little, oops right back to the edge.
Now she is exploring the nest, going for another look out spot.

There are still just two chicks at the Red-tail nest as far as i can tell. She is throwing feathers wherever they land. No pecking yet on this feeding!

Connecticut had 4 eggs last year, too, didn't they? Osprey eggs are about the same as eagle eggs--at least 35 days.

I am very new to watching this, so got a little nervous this a.m. when litle one was so close to edge!!hank you Sue for reassuring me one or both parents were close by. It goes to show how very dependent humans are compared to birds, we often tend to cuddle our young to death instead of preparing them to survive hardship. I am glad someone chose the Bald Eagle as our national symbol, I take it as a beautiful example of how we should teach our young to cope with reality.

Helloooooooooooo!!! We are in the land of the Okies! Just parked and hooked up! Having a glass of wine and Jack is reading this mornings paper. Had a nice drive up here, about 5 hours.
Our storms were yesterday. Had some rain in the night and it was misty and sprinkling at times this morning. The drive up was mostly cloudy. No, we studied the weather for this weekend. Would not have come if there were going to be more storms.
Guess the plan is to head out in the morning to the eagles nest. It is under 20 miles from where we are staying. The owner here asked why we were here. Said we were not the first to stay here to see the nest.
Going to relax and have a great meal and wine. Going off diet just a little for the weekend.

The scam callers finally got around to calling my other phone, I decided to play along with them and entered my card number, 2233445566778899. They didn't like it for some reason. (I turned them in again.) They called from a different area code and everything, the crooks. :(
Wanda, when I got home last fall, I couldn't believe that I never made it to the Eagle Express. There was so much to do and see that Saturday, that I ran out of time. Some day I will just have to come back and make it my first stop!
