GOOD MORNING NORMA AND SISSY AND ALL WHO MIGHT HAVE CHECKED IN ON THE OTHER PAGE! It is another beautiful day here on the Outer Banks as I set our nest up for the children to watch.
Still no computer at home, but did buy one. Waiting to see if the old one can be fixed first. Miss you all so much and Hidey is growing sooooo fast.
GOOD MORNIN' CANDY!!----Wonderful to hear from you!---It is a beautiful sunny day here this am!!-----Pray you get your PUTER working soon!----MISS YOU!---BIG TIME!----
Here is my morning HELLO, Norma. Just read the blog and did e-mail. Now off to feed dogs and eat breakfast. Have a good day. LW could hatch today, day 37 for the first egg!
Good morning everyone. Folks already lining up around the world to watch the sunrise at Hornby today...be there LOL.
Candy Open that box and give hubby the old broken one Enjoy your day. I am off to coffee and dog treats very soon. My little buddy ahs gone blnd now on me and we are both adjusting to that. He knows he is loved and enjoys his food. Not sure what else to do though tough times.
Not sure any of you saw them but I did post some nice photos on the For the Love of Eagles BLOG yesterday if you are interested. Also a couple of links to some awesome shots taken by Norolk Eagle Poperazi...just follow my name and choose the For the Love of Eagles link.
Is this eaglet okay? He hasn't seemed to act the same yesterday or today - very lethargic. Wouldn't eat what the parents offered to him yesterday... just wondering if anyone knows or noticed a difference.
Faye, I think Hidey is just fine! The heat makes them not as active but she has been up and foraging around the nest, scoping out the scene this morning!
I am off, tonight is dinner in Yankton. I'll try and drop in at lunch time! I should mow the front yard, will see. At least it is supposed to get out of the 40's today.
DEB!---We are looking forward to getting out of the 90s----Terrible outside yesterday!!----ALL FLYING INSECTS were flying & bombing! ho! ENJOY your day!!!
Thanks, Sissy. I am a worrywort! Hidey is standing on the edge now and looking at her world, so I feel better. She was way more active on Saturday and Sunday, so I didn't know. It was really windy up there yesterday too.
Today Sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. » ZIP Code Detail Tonight Mostly cloudy. Thursday Cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers. Highs in the lower 60s. Southeast winds around 5 mph.
Faye, I think Hidey is ok. The heat wears them out a little but I saw her eating more than once yesterday. Besides the wingersizing they do, pretty much all they do is sleep, eat and do poop shoots, much like any baby! :)
Faye, one year we talked about putting a water-misting fan at the nest to cool them off. That is when we had 3 babies. Somebody came on here and said it was not appropriate to mess with nature like that. DUH - like we would climb the tree and put a fan in the nest! It was just fun trying to come up with silly little solutions! We talked of throwing fish in the nest, breaking out the water hose, just stuff like that. Glad you are here. Please stay with us!
MORNIN' MITS & SHARON!----weather is going to get cooler with rain---maybe that will cool off the 'lil' one!!----Isn't she a 'TRIP'!!!--She seems to eat all day!!
Thanks SHARON!-----one word!---AWESOME!!!----I have all kind of birds---but have never had a bluebird either!!---DANA thinks I may have my boxes in the wrong places!!!
1 cute chick at Hi don't see any cracks in egg but could be on other side.
Maine Osprey has laid an egg today !!
When I went through Beakspeak today. I see that Osprey nest with the streaming video. I think Washington State is on again. Took a look they have big yellow thing in nest and pink in there. I think a couple of years ago that might be the site where our Chrissy was found.
Glo sorry about the blindness but I can say. When away from home just keep him close a lot of holding. When at home like you usually do. They seem to find their way around home just fine. BUT DON'T move anything. He might bump into some things. Which will be harder on you than him.
It is so hard to figure out if Lake Washington Eagle has any chicks yet. Guess will just have to watch for food to be brought in at that nest lol deep deep with tree in way.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... It is a another beautiful morning here in Martinsburg/Shepherdstown..75°. Won't stay like this for long...going to be another hot one.
Thank Norma and Dana Yes it is hard on me. I feel very sad but hoping he doesn't know it. Somehow I htink he does. WE are doing the best we can. He is leanring to use his nose to guage how high a step is and then paw up it. He has hit his mouth a few times as he is short and low to the ground. You are right that is hard on me.
It has done nothing but rain here for days. I am looking forward to sunshine and hopefully a walk at the marina I hope he still enjoys that...it is quite different walking him now too.
Going to check oh gracious long over-due emails. Since I've been out awhile.
Did see pictures and video's of the trip to Paxt. River State Park. They were ALL wonderful. So glad many of you all posted pics and videos...I laughed and laughed. Laughter good for healing.
Yes Glo you are right he does know. I remember about the short nose...clearing throat. Brittany was part Lasa Alpsa so she had that short nose too. Sometimes she would bump her head especially when she wanted under the coffee table...bless her heart. I know Glo it is so hard for you (((hugs to you both))
Busy here, Paula. Trying to get our yard shaped up for the Summer and GeeGee's too. Doesn't allow for much time on here, but we we'll be caught up soon:)
I hear ya, Wanda. I look around the yard and see all the stuff that needs to be done...NOW!! Ha ha, I just remind myself that it can't get done all in one day! One thing at a time!
Hi y'all! Been lurking while working thru' emails and reading papers. SO glad that Dana is back with us...how are you doing, girl??? Glo, glad to hear from you again, too. Sorry about Dex...it really is harder on US than it is on THEM!! Dogs are so adaptable....it won't be long that you won't be able to tell, at least while at home. Candy, get that new 'puter up and running...."old" ones usually aren't worth cost of repair considering what you can get a new one for nowadays. I only bought the CPU last year....no need for new monitor or keyboard...but did have to get a floppy disc drive add-on as new one don't have a 3 1/2" port anymore and I have too much stuff on those discs!
When the Finney water nest was MT earlier , I saw two beautiful big lumps of moss.....I LOVE mosses of all kinds...will make a nice cushion for a roosting mama, or pillow for chicks if they ever lay any an egg!!!
Out I go....nice breeze...hope it helps make it cooler/easier to work. Got some shots of my dogwood and redbud off the deck...will put up on computer tonight to see how good they turned out and if worth putting on my blog. BBL.
I just came in from spreading mulch and had to get the sweat off my glasses so I could see Hidey. Wondered how she was doing in this heat and WOW. Belle is tenting her (as much as she can) what a Mother she is!! Animals and Birds should be called caregivers, instead of animals!!
Wanda, I know what you mean...been getting the beds ready for fresh mulch and I have cleaned my glasses so many times in the last two days it's a wonder I haven't broken them!
Lynn, I need to stay off the computer in the morning,or get up earlier. It puts me behind, then I had to drive this morning to get there in time! I'll get it down to a routine quickly, though and get on track.
iF you get a chance look at the Old Faithful site. Last evening almost all the snow had melted, and I was thinking Spring was here to stay...even in Yellowstone.
You guessed it, it snowed overnight! Not just snowed, you can see 8" or more on the viewing benches. At least it appears that much to me.
I just got an E-mail from Suzanne, but she shouldn't even be at work now. It looks like it was sent to everyone in her address book, including some businesses she must have there. You might not want to open it. No time to send out a warning by e-mail, some one might want to.
My little indigo bunting has been hanging out here most of the day. So pretty. Right now, the flicker is over here talking crap to the starling. I surely wish the starling would go POOF!
Since I didn't get any takers yesterday, I will advertise again today.
FREE TO A HOME (DON'T MATTER IF IT IS GOOD OR BAD) - 1 OBNOXIOUS, LOUD, IRRITATING, NEST-STEALING STARLING. MR. FLICKER SAYS HE WILL PAY YOU TO COME AND GET THIS AGGRAVATING BIRD.
Hi all! Zach woke from his nap yesterday and could not get back on. Busy, busy, busy! We got home around 11 and we were tired!
This morning I got beautiful and the beauty shop. (I only wish!) Came home and Jack was on the patio with binoculars. He said we have a cardinal nest in the Carolina Jasmine and a wren in our Williamsburg bird bottle. Yea!
Sissy, the early bird gets the worm, as they say.....nice to have the rest of your day free! Bet hHaron isn't done yet....she's busy trying to find a home for the blasted starling!!! LOL....don't want it, Shar! I didn't get that email from Suz....last one was at 9:58 and it was onoly to our group. Sure hope her comoputer hasn't been compromised, or that she isn't in any trouble.
Wanda, why don't you all plan a trip to NBG? The gardens are beautiful and there happens to be an eagle nest!!! Would that be close enough for a day trip? I have not checked the map!
As pesky as they can be, BlueJays are still lovely....and I just missed getting a great shot...stepped out the door and he was in my big pine...got back in and grabbed the cam, but while focusing, he took off...boo.
Lolly, Norfolk would be a real stretch for a day trip....maybe if we were 20!!! BTW...you don't need a beauty shop...you are beautiful just the way you are!
Bless your heart, Lynn!! Too bad it is too far to NBG. Could not remember. We went there last May and it was fantastic. Want to go again when we can stay longer in the gardens. We were there to see the nest on the way to catch a plane and we only had a short while.
Okay, I really need to clean house. It got pushed aside yesterday and the day is rushing by and I have not even started. LOL (This is so much more fun!)
sometimes emails take along time to get to my box, don't remember the time, but think it may have been a little after noon, like Ceil said, I was out and just got back to puter a little while ago.
Good Afternoon All! Yes, Ceil I agree Where is Our Man! He'll surprise us at 10pm tonight! LOL I got an email so I think he is at work today. This split really helps - it doesn't seem to slow us down!
Was at DR this am and got a good good report on this pneumonia! No temp, breathing better (95 on ox finger meter) All in All I am on the mend.
Glo and Dex - thought and prayers are with you twoWell no rest for the weary - still making up missed appointments - off to the Podiatrist. Touch base upon my return....
So glad that you got good news about the pneumonia Jo. Glo sorry to hear about Dex. Our Dalmatian lived to be 16 and had many problems for a few years before we had to have her put down. She would fall out the back door and look at me as if I pushed her.
I was just watching the Atlanta zoo. Have not watched it since it came back on. Baby was climbing and mom came over and knocked him down. He got up and walked away after her.
Just came in from mowing and while sitting here reading comments, felt something on my neck...it was a tick. I wasn't even near the woods or bushes. I think they are going to be a nuisance this year. Check yourselves when yuo've been outdoors. Little boogers nearly did in my grandson last year:(
DANA, thanks for posting that report. Very interesting and a happy ending.
Dana, you would have done fine....only grass walking was to the picnic tables--only about 50 feet from the parking lot! Mary Margaret drove we handicapped momsters down to the boat ramp since it was a steep climb---she had actually driven there by herself on Sunday to scope it out in advance for us....she is a sweetheart.
GOOD AFTERNOON, EVERYONE! I got to sleep in late this morning, and it took almost forever to catch up with the blog! Talk about out of the loop!! Good to see Hidey at her 2 o'clock sentry post. Been trying to get a decent pic of the hummingbird nest here, but the wind has it bouncing around too much. The little momma has been sitting on the nest most of the time, with a few well-timed trips to the feeder and a couple of my hummingbird friendly bushes. I think she's an Anna's hummer. Really a cutie! Last year my daughter's mom-in-law, who also lives in Anaheim, had a hummer nest on the top of her wind chimes! Those little rascals are just amazing-- so adaptable! I'm really busy today trying to get some things done around the house, so BBL. Have a good rest-of-the-day, and I'll catch U later! :o]
Dana, what a heartwarmimg story from Woods Hole. Thanks! Maybe if Loretta has a chance to pop in she can tell us about the one at Patuxent that Greg was going to look at more closely to see if there was something caught on its' foot. Yes, NBG would make a good field trip, Paula!
My dumb butt just carried an old 27 inch TV from the back porch to the road and when I was sitting it down, the front of it fell onto the bottoms of my legs. Scraped a few layers of skin off and I think busted veins on both sides, knots immediately rose up on both of them. What a clutz I am!! I went to Sissy's and she broke out the "doctor bag" and doctored me up.
Yep Sharon it was a dumb thing to do. Hope you are okay. Saturday we moved a trundle for the day bed from downstairs upstairs. I moved the mattress from the front room to the back room and back has been giving me problems every since.
Yes, Sharon, that was not a very smart move on your part (you know better), but, GeeGee did something even dumber. She couldn't wait for Gene to rototil her garden, so she went out with a shovel and dug a parcel for her spinach. She is suffering quite a bit AND says she will NEVER do that again! She was trying to be SELF-SUFFICIENT like you! DUMB AND DUMBER:) LOL
I have an eagle cane now, too, and I'm closer....I'm gonna come use it on you, Sharon....good grief, girlfriend....if you did any damage to your abdomen, you're going to get it from all of us!!!! Poor legs....know how much that hurts. I got a verbal beating today from Bill's cousin...he came to see how much mulch he was going to have to get me, and saw me raking up the sticks and twigs and said the new mulch will cover it and sticks will rot....."why are you trying to kill yourself?"
Oh my, Wanda, GeeGee shouldn't evenbe out in this heat! Bet you wanted to use your cane there, too!!! Hope she is okay. If she can take it, give her some Advil and get some thermacare patches!
Yes, Lynn, I should use my cane on her. LOL Lord have mercy, she knows better than that! She has OXY.....and LIDOCAINE PATCHES. They only help her for a short while when she has done something so foolish.
S H A R O N............ .........................................................................................................................................................and !THAT! is all I'm going to say on that subject
Lynn when I lived just outside of Baltimore Md. I had a Lily of the Valley just outside my front door. It smelt so good and loved it when company came. They always mentioned something about the lovely smell. Hey gal that is my Birth-flower ( : lol
MAN! I had to read sooo fast from the bottom up to find out what all you SUPER WOMEN were doing! Can't believe all this DUMB STUFF you're pulling. I have 2 canes now and the one is really heavy duty! I'M COMING AT YA BUDDY! AND I'M COMING WITHOUT USING MY CANES
STEVE HAS GIVEN US A NEW EVENING THREAD...COME ON OVER AND JOIN ME*****************************************************************************************************
I bet I will have fun trying to lie in the bed tonight with both legs screwed up. I normally sleep on my side with a pillow between my knees but i would say that is not going to be possible tonight. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!

BB late tonight!
Well, I am done working for the day, had a shower, folding clothes, etc. I will check back in with you good folks later!
I haven't gotten anything from Suzanne but will keep an eye out for it. Thanks for the heads up, Deb!
And what will Mr. Flicker pay? LOL
Hi all! Zach woke from his nap yesterday and could not get back on. Busy, busy, busy! We got home around 11 and we were tired!
This morning I got beautiful and the beauty shop. (I only wish!)
Came home and Jack was on the patio with binoculars. He said we have a cardinal nest in the Carolina Jasmine and a wren in our Williamsburg bird bottle. Yea!
We knew something had been in the bird bottle but had not seen it. Same with the nest in the vines.
It is presently 60 here and cloudy. We got over 2 inches of rain yesterday. PTL When it gets a little warmer things are going to grow like mad!
Need to check cams.
WELCOME TO ALL NEW NAMES!
Suz's email was a link to a website...I didn't click on it...just deleted the email..she may have gotten a worm...
Wanda, why don't you all plan a trip to NBG? The gardens are beautiful and there happens to be an eagle nest!!! Would that be close enough for a day trip? I have not checked the map!
Jim, definitely looks like a significant snowfall, and looks likes it coming down right now!
Did you get my Help email yesterday???
Can not believe Deb had an hour for lunch and came home and mowed! Guess it is cool enough not to get hot and sweaty.
I sent an email alert out to all momsters/dadsters on my list about Deb's concern.
BBL
back from nap
Thanks Paula you are so so great for bringing me up-to-date. I really appreciate it. ( : ty ( :
SHARON is there a rescue for birds near you. Take it there and tell them it needed rescued before you cracked it with a broom lol
too late already opened the mail from Suzanne, its like a sales pitch for electronics.....it has also gone to eaglet momster mail
I'm looking at the chick at Libby Dam tee hee
That is an egg and 1 chick right?
Wanda I couldn't have done the trip after looking at the pics. I would not have been able to walk on grass.
Trying to watch feeding at Libby to see if parent only goes towards one area (one chick). That would mean other is egg.
Afternoon everyone. Dana that was funny. I was thinking before she wrings its neck and they have starling stew.
I'm, going to send PETA to her house....lol
It looks like she is feeding 2 chicks at Libby Dam. Can anyone else verify that?
I heard my starlings talking about her this morning.....they were organizing a trip to Bluefield WVA
I also opened it. It was right before Lynn's alert. It was an advertisement and mine was just a little after noon.
Oh no Mits what time was on it? It sounds like it went through her whole address book----eeekkkks.
Instead of where is waldo Where is Steve?
There was 2 in my email box from Suzanne time 1:06pm. Which means she was already gone by then! I didn't open put both in delete!!!!
It showed subject was about electronics.
sometimes emails take along time to get to my box, don't remember the time, but think it may have been a little after noon, like Ceil said, I was out and just got back to puter a little while ago.
Good Afternoon All! Yes, Ceil I agree Where is Our Man! He'll surprise us at 10pm tonight! LOL I got an email so
I think he is at work today. This split really helps - it doesn't seem to slow us down!
Was at DR this am and got a good good report on this pneumonia! No temp, breathing better (95 on ox finger meter)
All in All I am on the mend.
Glo and Dex - thought and prayers are with you twoWell no rest for the weary - still making up missed appointments - off to the Podiatrist. Touch base upon my return....
good news, Jo;)
So glad that you got good news about the pneumonia Jo.
Glo sorry to hear about Dex. Our Dalmatian lived to be 16 and had many problems for a few years before we had to have her put down.
She would fall out the back door and look at me as if I pushed her.
No link to click just information I got off Maine site for Woods Hole Osprey Site: wcz3176 wrote:
Folks - I figured a brief update to your list would be helpful. At 550pm on Sunday we approached the base of the pole with a bucket truck, on the erroneous assumption that the bird was still attached to the platform as had been reported. The entangled bird immediately flew off trailing the netting from its neck. It alighted on a nearby pylon, and immediately got entangled in the beam it was sitting on. It struggled and then was hanging by its feet, immobile, which was tough to see but lucky in that it was then immobilized. We quickly moved the truck to the pylon, and had the bird in hand very quickly. We brought it to the ground in the bucket, snipped off the netting, let the bird go and she was back on the nest in a flash - maybe by 6pm once we were done. No sign of any tissue damage at all. Just thought you would like to know the story. I'm a veterinarian and I work at WHOI. That piece of netting is therefore no longer a threat to the animal.
I was just watching the Atlanta zoo. Have not watched it since it came back on. Baby was climbing and mom came over and knocked him down. He got up and walked away after her.
she reminds me of Mei Xiang
I remember when Tai was little Helen. Mei would knock him off of anything and walk away. Didn't stop him.
Nice story Dana. It had a happy ending. Off to do some errands.
yeah, he would jump on her, he was not afraid....XL is up on the logs now ignoring mom.
We could do NBG....only 3 hours away or so....would be a long day, but fun!
Plastic is really a nuisance and hazard to our animal friends...glad they were able to help the osprey...
Hidey up and did a poop shoot...now back to 2ish...and flapping near the edge!
Food, out nest...don't know if Hidey has eaten yet or not....Adult is eating...
In the nest, not out of the nest...LOL

Good evening everyone.
And tomorrow my belly will probably be killing me for picking up something heavy. I was just trying to be a little self-sufficient.
Yep Sharon it was a dumb thing to do. Hope you are okay. Saturday we moved a trundle for the day bed from downstairs upstairs. I moved the mattress from the front room to the back room and back has been giving me problems every since.
hello......who just had a major operation for hernias a few months, could you not have waited for Andrew!!!!!!!!!
Yes, Mits, I am really wishing I had waited. My legs are hurting!
Wait until Mema Jo hears what you did. She is going to hit you with her eagle cane.
I know she will and I deserve it all! :) I will be Dumb and Dumber with GeeGee!
Feeding time Norfolk
Sharon love your avatar
Thanks Ceil. My first indigo bunting showed up this morning.
This flicker and starling are still after each other. This is my ongoing saga!
I am thinking maybe I will wrap myself in bubble wrap and be known as "The Girl in the Plastic Bubble Wrap!" ;)
Oh my, Wanda, GeeGee shouldn't evenbe out in this heat! Bet you wanted to use your cane there, too!!! Hope she is okay. If she can take it, give her some Advil and get some thermacare patches!
ok that is it....the Wet noodle is coming out of retirement for all of you......you are right Ceil, Jo is gonna get her.......
Lynn forgot you had an eagle cane. Watch out Sharon
Oh yeah and my dumb butt deserves whatever it gets!
Yes, Lynn, I should use my cane on her. LOL Lord have mercy, she knows better than that! She has OXY.....and LIDOCAINE PATCHES. They only help her for a short while when she has done something so foolish.
I have a cane too, Sharon. If you do something like that again, I may use my cane to turn you into a frog! LOL
Well, hope she is using both, Wanda!!
I just talked to Andrew and he said, "Mom, couldn't you have waited until I got home?" I said, that is what Helen said too. :)
Check out my new avatar.....painting done by a friend in FL. Like it, Jo???
My lilies-of-the-valley are almost ready to bloom.....hope they hold off three days...they are the May birth-flower.
Chick in view at Hornsby. Think it is hungry.
Good Dad just came in with a fish.
S H A R O N............
.........................................................................................................................................................and !THAT! is all I'm going to say on that subject
Lynn when I lived just outside of Baltimore Md. I had a Lily of the Valley just outside my front door. It smelt so good and loved it when company came. They always mentioned something about the lovely smell. Hey gal that is my Birth-flower ( : lol
I heard that Dana! :)
frog, we should turn her into a starling, Wanda, she would never pull that stunt again
Ooohh, you can't turn me into a starling! :) I bet I would have a whole new perspective of them then, don't ya think?
Sure do like the new pic, Hedgie!
Switch at Hi
MAN! I had to read sooo fast from the bottom up to find out what all you
SUPER WOMEN were doing! Can't believe
all this DUMB STUFF you're pulling.
I have 2 canes now and the one is really heavy duty!
I'M COMING AT YA BUDDY! AND I'M COMING WITHOUT USING MY CANES
I have been waiting on that! :)
STEVE HAS GIVEN US A NEW EVENING THREAD...COME ON OVER AND JOIN ME*****************************************************************************************************
IT IS TUESDAY TV NIGHT!
I'll touch base with all of you....
Ya know I love ya Sharon and I hope
your boo boos heal soon!
(((hugs to all))) ♥
Hidey worries me being so stuck to the 2:00 position!
I bet I will have fun trying to lie in the bed tonight with both legs screwed up. I normally sleep on my side with a pillow between my knees but i would say that is not going to be possible tonight. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!
Blowing like crazy here and getting very gray...think maybe a storm is brewing!
Mine, too, Dana! I have "parfum" that is Lily-of-the-Valley: Muguet des bois--by Coty.....love it!!!
Hidey is certainly watching something out towards the road!
NCIS on going to watch
Parent was just on the nest...quiet entrance....just left off the launch pad...
Apparently a new thread is up!
