Good morning everyone. Lisa at BWE thinks that one of the eaglets has fledged. She has pics. Beautiful day here is Baltimore but wish I was at the ocean. We had a graduation yesterday. It was really beautiful. One of the graduates was blind and was accompanied by her seeing eye dog Dana. Dana was a very proud dog walking across the stage.

deb said...

Hummer nest visible, I wonder if the last egg will hatch. It is over due.

Some one is doing a lot of flapping in our nest, not getting any air time, so maybe it is Tiny.

deb said...

Morning, Ceil. I wish I was at the ocean, too, but that would be a long trip for me!

Good Mid Morning on such a beautiful Sunday to all of you It's great to not yet need the AC on and that opened windows & doors make it soooooooo comfortable in the house!
Nothing real exciting planned for today meaning we don't need to travel anywhere. Oldest daughter & Hubby will stop by for lunch - I just need to grill the hotdogs!

Mema Jo said...

Ceil - that must have been such a moving sight at graduation - one that could bring tears of emotions on the blind graduate's accomplishments.

I bet Helen & family are having a wonderful time at the ocean!

The lake waters with the loon cam are as still as though it were frozen..
Don't know what to compare it to..
Loon is doing fine without all the waves bouncing the platform.

deb said...

We call it "glass" water, Jo. It is the best for boating, so calm and wonderful to float on. I decided we will float a lot this summer to save on gas, otherwise we won't be able to afford boating.

Mema Jo said...

Three growing eaglets in our nest!!
One at 11:00
One eating nestovers
One on the launch pad (but I don't think he/she knows it's the launch pad position at 6:00)

AND I can't tell one from the other!

ceil said...

Hi Deb, Love Helen's place at the ocean but had to go to graduation. So glad I did. Jo, I cried. Such an accomplishment. There were mom's and daughters graduating. Wonderful day. Norma I was watching Tai before and he was sleeping by the fence where you can see mom or dad. I have not heard from Helen all weekend either. They have had good weather. BBL Going to get lunch.

deb said...

One load of laundry done, I didn't realize i hadn't done it in quite awhile. I will be at it all day. Off to do some more planting, this past winter was hard on the plants.

ceil said...

Jo I am glad we have not had to put the AC on but may have to tomorrow. T

Mema Jo said...

Thanks DEB! That's it!
As smooth as Glass!
You best get the oars geared up for this summer with the price of gas. Our area is just about to hit the $4 mark! I am thankful in a way that I am retired but my most usage of gas is to go to CVS to get prescription meds! LOL So it's not such a good compromise!
I hope to meet you some day, Deb
You too Lolly and Mauley and Ceil and all the rest of you Momsters!
That includes you too Jim!!!

Mema Jo said...

I just got my belly laugh for the day

I turned my air conditioning on today, not that hot, 73, but humidity is 78%, so it is very sticky.

Lolly said...

Ready for church but not time yet.

Jo, thanks for the laugh!! Wonderful videos!! I learned about poop shoots when we had the hawk nest in our yard. A few years ago we were at the Raptor Center in Alaska. Man was giving a program on the bald eagle. Had one on his arm. Might know, we were on the front row. I KNEW the action of that bald eagle. Pulled my feet back just in the nick of time. LOL

Norma, until a short time ago I did not care for Salmon. However, I love it with green onion sauce!!

deb said...

Brought over from Jo's posting from yesterday:

From Peter: "The tentative banding schedule is:
PR on 5/24
TH on 5/25
TR on 5/30
SR on 5/31
WE on 6/11
any of the dates could change by a day or two."

But, she is gone again!!

I'm back for a little while. Doing laundry also Deb. So I have a bad habit of blogging and walking away to do something else. Senior moments are getting closer together. Just watch the West End videos. Funny. Norma I am a worry also. Husband told the doctor one time that work was what was making my blood pressure high. Doctor said if it wasn't for work I would find something else to worry about.

Hello & Happy Sunday Everyone!!
Been reading, checking cams, etc.
The Hulabunnee films from Glo & Jo are a RIOT. But, it must be really hard to aim Backwards!!!
Been watching Isla & she has finished some of baby's food & finally sitting down, but squawking up a storm at times. I had to turn down volume.
Be doing some chores today & watching back and forth.
Lolly, Deb, will certainly join in on defending the BC nest! Those black things were so fast, couldn't really tell what they were! BBL

wvgal_dana said...

Thanks Glo for the two videos and ty Jo for bringing them to this thread. That is a definite sibling getting even lmbo

wvgal_dana said...

Deb do you all use an electric motor when the water is like glass. We had both. Only use gas to get to and from on water.

NatureNut said...

Mom came back to Delta, BC nest & black bird zipped by right behind her! They're back! Maybe they also have nest in area.

wvgal_dana said...

I think food was brought into nest. Which Pearl got not Middy has stolen a piece away for herself. Right now Pearl and Middy are having a tug of war over the food.

paula eagleholic said...

Howdy, all!

Whazzup?

Back from the yard waste recycling center and Walmart. Went into Walmart filthy, but I don't care! Gonna head back out to spread the mulch!

floralgirl said...

Wow- what a beautiful day, had a really busy market. I sold almost everything I took:) Have you guys decided on a time to meet at NCTC next Saturday yet?

deb said...

Dana, I have an I/O and it uses gas. No trolling motor, I don't fish. That is always the question when you are trailering the boat, how was the fishing? Not a pole in sight and the men still ask!

wvgal_dana said...

Hi Megan glad your market did very well for you.

I think the dinner is 5pm I think
Don't know time for nest.
Maybe email JO...

paula eagleholic said...

Breaktime!

Chicks are on the lookout at 3, 4 and 6 on the nest

wvgal_dana said...

Paula I don't think they are going to Two Harbors today. Wonder what the new date is?

paula eagleholic said...

Dana - TH is tomorrow. PR - Pinnacle Rock is today - there isn't a cam on that nest.

paula eagleholic said...

See Deb's post at 11:22 today

deb said...

I don't think so, either, Dana. I looked all over at the IWS site and all I could find is they thought someone was working on the Hacking Tower. They probably need to get it ready for Spirit's return and then later for Skye.

wvgal_dana said...

Lola has something white in the nest around the chicks. Cloth or paper. Thank goodness not plastic.

wvgal_dana said...

Pearl flapping those wings moving across the nest. I think it is Middy is at 3 (launch pad) with back to it NO RAILING....sure hope Pearl doesn't knock him backwards.

paula eagleholic said...

I love the way the eaglets cock their heads sideways to look at something!

I am just about at a total loss as to who is who in our nest...

paula eagleholic said...

Aww looking right at the cam! How cute!

wvgal_dana said...

Thank you Paula ( :

paula eagleholic said...

Ooops sorry, I'm about 2 minutes behind.

paula eagleholic said...

HAHA - I have my dates wrong! Today is the 25th, isn't it! My Bad!!

paula eagleholic said...

Dr Sharpe does announce it on the DB when he leaves for the nest.

paula eagleholic said...

No announcement thus far today.

NatureNut said...

Heard Isla chirping again & she was really picking at bowl beneath. Angus brought in a fish that she yanked off his talons. Front egg seems to have a dark stripe around it? Wonder if that's a crack?

Eagle at Kent 1.

Lolly said...

Been watching the OK cam. The two there are really doing wingercizes and trampoline hops. Thought one was going right out of the nest. Where do they branch to? That rail is all they have! Looks like their nest is in the water, better know how to swim if they fall out.

floralgirl said...

Thanks Deb and Dana:) no feet up yet tho- just did 2 loads of laundry, vaccuumed, mopped floors and now I'm making dinner.

paula eagleholic said...

One just went up the trunk at 10...maybe a foot or so

paula eagleholic said...

A woman's work is never done!

paula eagleholic said...

One is working on dinner this end of the nest...getting the fur off, it looks like

paula eagleholic said...

Parent just flew in...eaglet mantling

paula eagleholic said...

Ha Ha..grabbed the fish and is running all over the nest with it!

deb said...

I think there are three eggs at the WW Osprey nest, Osprey is back on the nest right now.

deb said...

Another parent visit, Can't see if there is food.

deb said...

Whatever the birds are at the Delta nest, they are small and fast. I think that lets out ravens, doesn't it?

deb said...

No food brought in, went back and checked.

deb said...

Parent confiscated some leftovers and is feeding one of the eaglets. One eating on its own the other was waiting, but hopped away.

deb said...

Now it is waiting again, moved in closer.

deb said...

Now parent wants the other leftovers and the eating eaglet wants none of that. Whoa, the chicks are getting very possessive, spatting with parent.

deb said...

Parent wins this one!

deb said...

Off to fold laundry.

paula eagleholic said...

Parent back...feeding chicks

paula eagleholic said...

Eaglets were giving Dad a hard time...he finally found the furry thing to feed them

paula eagleholic said...

Eaglets at 6, 9, 12

Mema Jo said...

I sure feel like a trader! I didn't do any laundry today! <:)
I also can NOT tell our eaglets apart very well anymore! I figure I will know who they are as to who fledges first and who is the last to go out of the nest!

NEST VISIT I need this week to gather info from NCTC (lunch site? Best place for parking to view nest. ect....) I know dinner will be set for you to arrive 4:30 -5:00 as always. I am thinking of a general time to meet for nest will be around 10am... Some are staying there Fri night & will probably go to nest whenever the sun rises..lol.
I will definitely get email out to all of you who have committed yourself to being there! I will do this by the end of next week. I needed some kind of head count before I could go ahead with the plans.... ((hugs)) YKW

paula eagleholic said...

LOL as soon as I post the one at 9hops across the nest and to the back. flapping wings furiously....might be Tiny

Costume Lady said...

Hi Sharon & Paula...
It has been a beautiful day here too. Going to be pretty tomorrow, but a little on the warm side...86°

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Okay, I am going to go out on a limb (pardon the pun) and say it is Pearl that sits right below the camera, Middy that was just doing the wing flapping and Baby Littley that sits in Spunky's/Liberty's spot!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

We were looking for eagles today and I told everybody there that in 2 weeks, I am hopeful to get to see 5 of them!! I know where my eagles are!! :)

Costume Lady said...

Hi, Jo...
The Eagle Express can be brought down for everyone's convenience if we can find a place to park it. Just let me know.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Oh, it got pretty warm at the lake today but tomorrow is supposed to be 85. I have to work tomorrow though so I will have to enjoy it in the evening I guess.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Oh, we LOVE the Eagle Express!

Mema Jo said...

Hi Sharon!
Hi Dana - The BlueBirdBaby Monitor!

Paula - Lolly We are waiting for yard/deck work accomplishment pictures..

Ceil - when is Helen's company leaving OC?

Deb - get that laundry done gal if you want a holiday tomorrow!!

Megan - I planted a big pot of
Four O'Clocks! I love them and haven't seen many for years ..

Mema Jo said...

WANDA, You sneaked right in after I made that comment.
I was going to email you & the Capt to see about the Eagle Express!!!
I'll be in touch! Thank You!

Like you say that was a question I needed to ask NCTC as to where it could be parked since the BARN area is off limits

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Does anyone have a tulip poplar tree? Mine is blooming so beautiful and I have never noticed the blooms before in my life and this tree has been beside my house for longer than I have lived here. Saw one at the lake today.

ceil said...

Jo,
Kevin, Anne and girls will be there until tomorrow. Hi, Sharon. Glad I am not the only one who cannot tell them apart.

Mema Jo said...

Sharon - does your tulip poplar tree have a yellow flower on it?
I had to look it up.. I was thinking it was like the Magnolias but it really isn't.

Mema Jo said...

Well I had an unscheduled picnic today and it turned out very well!
Three of the kids/families stopped by and we grilled hot dogs & they brought the rest! It filled the afternoon with lots of fun!

deb said...

I looked up a tulip poplar tree, also. Very pretty blooms.

I ended up stripping the bed, flipping mattress, etc, so a lot of laundry turned into even more laundry. I am getting there, though. If I would only do one project at a time, it would go faster.

Lolly said...

LOL Guess that was Pearl, she just is a little hyper, bounced all over nest including bouncing on a sibling.

deb said...

She is playing leap frog over one eaglet, who doesn't like this game. Especially when used as a landing pad!

floralgirl said...

Sharon, we have tulip poplar trees- always thought they were beautiful. Had a huge one in our yard when I was a kid, and I was always picking the blossoms.
Jo- I love 4 oclocks- always grow them. Just planted some right outside my door. Just watered the gh- picked 89 peonies, bathed the dog- gopod grief- that's it- showered and ready to sit- now that the day is done. lol

deb said...

Both parents in the nest., oops one left.

floralgirl said...

Looks like adult is having a late night snack. Boy, I am so sick of that spiderweb.

Mema Jo said...

I don't watch the cam much after dark when they settle down due to
SPIDEY'S WEB! Going to bring a high powered leaf blower to the Nest Visit and wipe him out!

Lolly said...

You can stand on each others shoulders to get up that high. Jo, you can be on top with the blower. I can picture it all now!! LOL

Mema Jo said...

Megan - you have had such a busy sun up to sun down beautiful day!
In a couple months we'll be doing rain dances for you! Do your gh peonies have ants in them?

Mema Jo said...

Lolly It would be horrible if we
blew Pearl out of the nest! lol

Lolly said...

Practice JO!!!! Get good aim with the blower!! Wipe out that web and Spidey with it. Practice!! You have two weeks!

floralgirl said...

Peonies are outside , Jo- no ants at this point, they get on the buds when they first appear and are sticky-sappy, then they disapear.

Lolly said...

They have landed a proble on the north pole of Mars. Surely, surely, I say, we can knock down Spidey and web!!

deb said...

Another long day, I am calling it a night. Good Night, all.

deb said...

Here is today's update on NBG eaglet:

Not much has changed in the past 24 hours. The bird is resting comfortably and continues to have a great appetite. The young eagle gobbled down 14 mice today. The artificial nest constructed for the bird was moved near a window so that it has some natural lighting. The bird has nearly doubled its body weight since arrival just four days ago, weighing in at just over 4 1/2 pounds.

paula eagleholic said...

Ha Ha, I like that Jo, Chubby Buddy! Only 14 Mice? I loved how they said they were going to introduce fish into his diet...like he's never had fish before!

You know those baby eaglets, they'll stuff themselves till they plop over and can't get up!

Great to hear he's eating well!

Mema Jo said...

Well I hope Suz remembered to watch the Meerkets - I called Jenny - Is it starting a new story?

GOOD MONDAY MORNING TO YOU ALL !!!

" I hope your all as well as can be today ".

HAVE A GREAT MEMORIAL DAY ONE AND ALL::::::::::::

Eaglets:::::::
Can't see a lot,, the spiders wb is wafting about and I'm only catching gilmps's, one chick just sullting cleaning wing feathers, can't see the other two.

PA Peregrines :::::
Can't see a thing, it's far to dark still.

Loch of Lewes Ospreys::::
Isla having a bath,,Angus popped in with a masive fish [boy that kid can eat] popped out again after looking the heir over once or twice,, still no sign of the other two eggs hatching,, I think it's a givien now THEY WON'T !!! And if Isla breaks them open today, little "BUBBA", won't have anything to lean on, Ahhhhhhhhhh, he/she will just have to find a little branch all of it's own to use.

Loch Garten Ospreys::::::
Chick fed and all floppy,,,EJ [mum] and OVS [dad] seem to be a young couple compaired to Isla and Angus.
It seems that at Loch Garten, OVS [orange vs,legband]
Has two nests,Henry, "EJ'S" male as far as I've read, isn't around, so I'm not sure what the situation is going to be, but so far OVS seems to be doing his work, bringing fish BUT not staying for long, so if he is splitting himself between two nests and two ladies BOY WHAT A BIRD !!!!
AS they have said at "LOCH GARTEN",,,,
WE NEED MORE MALES !!!

Weater here awful,, wet, windy dark and oh so cold,,,,

EVEN my cats, beauty and Scamp won't go out into the garden this morning,, so its littler tray duty all day I'm thinkning, ughhh,,,
It's " BANK HOLIDAY", over here today, and everything seems to grind to a halt on such days here,, don't like them at all.
Well thats all the news I can think off so far my friends.
I hope if your planning picnics,,HAVE FUN,,,ENJOY,,, and mind the ants,,,,,,,

love and hugs
