Suzanne, I could not get Finney's nest last night, thought it was my puter...

MITS said...

my goodness those wing flaps are strong....still wish the nest were deeper

Suzanne said...

Morning, Ceil. No, just brought up the stork nest. Haven't opened my usual gazillion cams this morning. Wanted to see if we had a baby in Scotland, and we do, so been watching that couple. Yes, Isla is cranky, or bossy, or whatever. Anyway, her mouth doesn't usually stop. Speaking of which, baby getting fed as we speak!
Morning, Helen. Darn on Finney's cam. They have a new URL, and it re-routes you automatically, but can't connect. That's a big bummer, love that cam!
Yes, I'm going to the NCTC nest visit. Dinner too. Guess I better send Jo an email.

MITS said...

tried going thru Beakspeak for Finney's nest...no go:(

RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!

MITS said...

Thought of rain doesn't bother me as much as the wind...

Suzanne said...

Darn, it's colder out now than when I came to work, and guess it's gonna stay that way. I'm ready for some sun!!! Gloomy weekend, and looks like it's gonna be a gloomy week...and chilly.
Jackdaw babies are visible, and the 1 egg is still there. Guess that puppy isn't gonna hatch now, but parents have not removed it. Course the PA falcons haven't removed the last egg either. Darn wish I knew how to contact the folks that run Finney's nest! Maybe it's just a temporary problem and they'll fix it. I hope!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

We had a thunder-boomer roll through here last night that woke me right up. That wasn't too long before the daggone dogs started their crap. Still mad at them this morning. Of course, they are all sleeping now!

Suzanne said...

Morning Dave:)

normabyrd said...

LISA also says that when the parents bring in food!!---INTREPID & DESTINY---want to take the food away from her & feed themselves!!--ho!-----PARENT doesn't allow that to happen!!! (not yet)---We used to worry about them not getting enough food!!!!

normabyrd said...

Mema Jo said...

Hi Dave, I've been to page 11 & you have captured some beautiful pics. The nesting couple really has a lot of shade/shelter from all the foliage on the nest tree. Our Sycamore doesn't have that many branches above the nest - especially for any amount of branching/shade.

normabyrd said...

BREAKFAST AT OUR NEST

deb said...

Good morning, everyone. It is a beautiful sunny morning here. It is nice to see live feed is up, what a noisy bunch.

Mema Jo said...

You can have a good look at what is under Isla now.

floralgirl said...

Hello all:) 52 here and partly sunny- clouds are moving in and it is breezy, about 14 to 20 mph so far- at least it is drying the ground out. We really need a week without rain, farmers are having a hard time getting their crops planted. Saw Dana and Ed at mkt Saturday, she got some salvias to attract hummingbirds. I saw Sandra and Tom walking thru the mkt yesterday. I told her we definitely want her to join us at the Rumsey! She says she wants to. What time is the NCTC visit saturday? Back to work, not much free time lately- Have a nice day:)

normabyrd said...

NC OSPREY NEST!!---OSPREY in nest with at least 1 CHICK & I think at least 2 EGGS---Sun is so bright it is hard to see---------WHOA JOHN!!--Bet you are happy you don't have to climb up to that nest!!!!!!!

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' DEB & FLOWER GIRL MEGAN!!--I am delighted MEGAN that you saw SANDY & TOM at your flower sale!!
Daughter had seen her in her lawn one day!!----I hope she can come to 6/7 event!!---That would be an answer to our prayers!!

Mema Jo said...

Good morning Helen, Norma and Deb.
Suzanne - I put you on the June 7th list! Norma - are your plans to come into Shepherdstown on June 7th to join us?

Deb - Hope the grass isn't long enough to mow again!

normabyrd said...

HEY DEB!!----Do you supposes the DIVERS have missed us???----ho!---It's been a LONG TIME!!

Mema Jo said...

Hi Megan - Bye Megan
Thanks so much for update on seeing our Momsters. I had sent Sandra a separate email to see if she could join us - I hope we all get to visit with her.

It has been too chilly & wet for my hummers to come around lately.

deb said...

Jo, after last nights rain, I will probably have to mow, but it is too wet right now. I haven't checked for divers in a long time, Norma, too many other things to look at!

Mema Jo said...

Need to go look at emails.... BBL

normabyrd said...

DEB!!---I was 'teasing'---We have been blessed with so many -- many exciting sites to watch!!---Isn't it WONDERFUL!!!

Suzanne said...

Morning, Wanda. Think I missed you earlier! Did not mean to. Morning Megan, and Jo and Deb, and Indiana Dave. Dave, glad your eaglets are still doing well. That has got to be exciting watching them grow right there!
Thanks, Jo. Hope we get a good crowd!

Suzanne said...

Ferry coming through, Helen!

normabyrd said...

JO!--1 BURROWING OWL at KENT!!!

Lolly said...

Good morning all! Ahhh, live feed with sound. WONDERFUL!

What's with the fact we can not get Finney's nest? I got it this weekend, but just get a blank blue page now.

Some one mentioned they do not see much happening at the Finnish nest on the water. Late one night I checked it just before bed. Up close to the nest was the wake of a boat that had just passed. Did not see the boat. I really missed the boat that night. LOL

MITS said...

I missed it, Suzanne....yes, Lolly Dana mentioned that, but it is the same with the eagles when they are on the eggs, like watching grass grow, unless you are at Deb's house...lol!

Suzanne said...

LOL, Lolly! Can't have you missing the boats! Finney's nest has a new URL, and it's not connecting. Helen said she couldn't get it yesterday, and I've tried a few times this morning...won't connect.

MITS said...

ok, so, every e-mail I sent to a hotmail or msn address has failed, what is up with that, and how do I fix it???

MITS said...

yep I had the nest up until I tried to go on last night as dawn was breaking in FINLAND.....DRATS!!!!!!!#$%#@$%!

Lolly said...

Well, we are just going to have to work hard to relocate it!

Lolly said...

Well, I just got on and now I gotta leave. BBL

paula eagleholic said...

Morning, all

Try this for Finney's nest..

I think you have to manually refresh it.

http://kotinetti.suomi.net/saaksi/live_08.jpg?ts=

paula eagleholic said...

Nevermind that link, it's stuck on yesterday...it's not refreshing

paula eagleholic said...

Nice to see our live feed up - do we have sound this morning...yes we do, nevermind

MITS said...

Gesundheit, to whoever is sneezing:) in our nest

Mema Jo said...

Not too many email to catch up on but lots of new comments to read as I returned to blog.....

Suzanne said...

Morning, Paula. That's the link it automatically re-route you to,
http://kotinetti.suomi.net/saaksi/ but that's as far as you go.

I'm wondering if their government took over the cam. The full name for the country of Finland is Suomi Finland, and this link has the Suomi in it. In any case, not working. Bummer. Helen, ditto, I agree with what you said a few blogs back!!!

Suzanne said...

Ok, how come I only see 1 eaglet in our nest? Or is that 2 there, one behind the other. So never mind, I see all 3 of them. Phew, be still my heart!!!

Suzanne said...

Zoomed in on baby Scotland!

Mema Jo said...

We need to ask DEB to go up there to our little burrowing owl's burrow and cut that grass. I can hardly see him.

Mema Jo said...

That's the first time I've seen the Wild Watch Osprey lying down in her nest! Do you think there could be an egg?

Mema Jo said...

Peek & Boo are sorta hiding behind their tree trunk - No adults with them in the nest.

Have you checked those Heronetts lately?

deb said...

I have enough mowing to do here, although I would take the trip to Washington, Jo! Later this summer when the sun is cooking my grass, I will be wishing it were growing!

Mema Jo said...

LOL I thought the same thing Suzanne about locating the other 2 eaglets in our nest. Scared me!!!

deb said...

I hope they do have an egg at the osprey nest. The SJ falcon chicks are sure getting big, they wonder all over the deck now.

Mema Jo said...

Can't get Heron cam to open right now.
Lady Loon or Louie (not sure which) is nesting on those golden eggs.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Nothing can make my heart skip a beat like looking at our nest and having to search for the other eaglets!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well, my cam looks pretty weird!

Mema Jo said...

Restarting Live Feed... Had a crazy picture... I may have lost it - I have sound but no pic yet! Restarted again - it buffered - BUT no PICTURE just the sound of the wind

Oh well - HA HA! Picture just popped up!

normabyrd said...

SORRY--Phone!!!----Now I need to catch up & say GOOD MORNIN' LOLLY & PAULA!!!-------I tried that site this morning!!----I just supposed it was my computer!!---But I had been able to get it before this a.m.!!!!---DEB gave me the site!!!

deb said...

Try the herons now, I just got it open.

Mema Jo said...

Will do.......

deb said...

Take a look at Denali in Alaska, a beautiful site this morning!

MITS said...

Mema Jo said...

Deb That is a beautiful sky line

deb said...

That is strange, wonder if it is a comcast problem.

I love that Alaska view, not too often that the mountain is out in it's full glory. It is so large it has its own weather system!

Mema Jo said...

I have to get my morning moving!

BBL this afternoon..........

floralgirl said...

Good Morning All!
Finally my live cam came on.Pic was just black for awhile. Checked other cams and Mom stork was standing and babies were feeding I guess, but the tiniest got shuffled to the back of the pack!
TX wood duck is on eggs. They were laid 5-5. I can't remember when they should hatch!?
My vet neighbor, who's cat is in a tree for day 3 now, has rented a 40ft. ladder. He's to bring one of the young men who works at the hosp. down & my hubby will go over and help hold ladder.Sucks that w/all his animal contacts he couldn't get anyone to help.Scarey to me--I'll prob stay away from operation!

Suzanne said...

Hi all. Beautiful pic of Denali, Deb.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I am going to say that is Pearl doing the wing flaps and I am also going to say that is Pearl that is giving me a d**n heart attack!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

WELL - WAS ANYBODY ELSE JUST WATCHING. THE WIND GOT EVEN TOO MUCH FOR PEARL, SHE CRAWLED OVER IN THE NEST. THE EAGLET AT 12 O'CLOCK POSITION MUST HAVE BEEN STRETCHING AND JUST ABOUT GOT BLOWN OUT OF THE NEST. WORKED REALLY HARD TO GET ITS WING TUCKED BACK IN. NOW, YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT A HEART ATTACK!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

The pic froze up and I didn't get to record it.

Suzanne said...

Sun is out here, but just checked the PA cam. Looks very overcast. Guess I should be glad I got to see the sun today at all! If I wasn't working, looks like I wouldn't have seen much of it. Falcons look sorta sunny, tho.
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly. Here's hoping we can get Finney's nest tomorrow!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

They are all laying really low now. That gave me a headache!

MITS said...

been working on dumb computer...#$@$%##

MITS said...

going to put cams back up

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I guess I went through that trauma all by myself!

MITS said...

think you did, Sharon

MITS said...

beautiful view in Norfolk:)

MITS said...

got my reservations at the Clarion for Friday and Saturday night, my sisters will come up Friday, but will be leaving Saturday night after the dinner and nest visit.

Mema Jo said...

I'll get them on the list Helen!!

Sharon - you handled that very well. I was not watching - thank goodness!

Mema Jo said...

I think it scared Pearl also - She sure is lying low! lol

BBL this afternoon........

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Prayers going up for you, Mema Jo. Love you!

MITS said...

yep Jo:):) prayers for a clean pic.

paula eagleholic said...

Wow Sharon I looked back on the video...I see why you were worried around noon...

MITS said...

eagles back up and flapping

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Paula, I have to tell you I was flipping out. Almost turned off the real player cause I did not want to see that feller break its wing or something.

paula eagleholic said...

My pic is going a little whacko...

NatureNut said...

SUCCESSFUL kitty rescue at my neighbor's!!First time up the ladder, "Ralph" moved further away on a branch! Jimmy, our vet neighbor, went to house and brought cat food. His second trip up the ladder w/chow worked and he was able to grab the escapee!! I'm so relieved.
Saw other anxious excitement at our nest. Wind is really blowing, but now seems all youngsters are in the middle. Tnk goodness!

paula eagleholic said...

Glad to hear the kitty is safely down from the tree!

NatureNut said...

Yes, Paula. I bet it stays in the house!
Somebody squealing in our nest!Must see adult & looking for food.

NatureNut said...

OMG, flapping all the way across the nest to edge!

MITS said...

The kitty's name is Ralph????

NatureNut said...

My vet's wife calls it Tiger (it is orange striped), but he calls it Ralph! I'm calling it Treetop!
LOL

paula eagleholic said...

Looks like the wind has calmed down a little bit.

I like that name Ralph for the kitty

MITS said...

I'm calling it Lucky to be alive and down on the ground:)

MITS said...

you could hear the parent coming to nest

MITS said...

did it bring food????

NillaWafer said...

WOW i hope ya'll are watching the eaglet get air time over the nest!!1 Really wing flapping and hovering around.. Other eaglets are thinking what the H**..lol Off to work.. Have agreat day, Nilla

MITS said...

well I guess not

paula eagleholic said...

Yes Mits, Parent brought food...a dark looking fish flipping around

paula eagleholic said...

LOL second chick wanted it too

MITS said...

well i think whatever was brought in was small and Pearl is not sharing

paula eagleholic said...

Ok Mits, I was talking about the first parent visit about 10 minutes ago

paula eagleholic said...

Second visit looked like Lib, first one, Belle

MITS said...

GOTCHA..PAULA

MITS said...

ANNMARIE, just confirmed there is an egg in the osprey nest of WILDWATCH

MITS said...

both osprey at WW, with their new egg

MITS said...

I guess that was the first official drop and fly:)

MITS said...

bluebird was just in the WW nest

paula eagleholic said...

Kewl, I found it on the tape! Pearl, from left side to midddle and hovered! Thanks, Nilla!

paula eagleholic said...

Eaglet did it twice.

MITS said...

great shot of dad and mom in Scotland

NillaWafer said...

I just picked up the newspaper to see that now 3 pandas are missing from the reserve and 5 staff members were killed also...They were reports all safe but not so now...60 other giant pandas are safe..

Mema Jo said...

I took a panda nap when I got home from CT & blood work. WOW! Now I get
to take youngest son to the OutBack.
Don't tell Andrew cause I know it's his favorite
HAPPY about the Kitty Squad doing such a great job - someone used their brain about the food offering!
Haven't checked any cams except to be sure there are still 3 in our nest!
The wind is really gusty at times.
The 'logs' sure are being kicked around the nest by YouKnowWho!
Hi Nilla! I read that last night on MSN news about those 3 pandas and also the death of some of the staff.Very sad!
Well after dinner I will buzz out to Jennifer's home for her b-day!
Four of my five have b-days in APR & MAY. They are all getting up in years lol!!

deb said...

I just got home and am glad I missed the heart attack, Sharon.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Oh, but Deb, it was awful going through it by myself. I needed everybody else to share in the chaos with me! Hopefully Paula saved it. She rewound her real player and saw what had happened.

deb said...

Reading it was enough for now. The wind is still blowing, there could be another one.

deb said...

It would be bad to watch alone, I wish they would tuck their wings in the wind. One of these days one will branch and we will all freak out.

And get away from the edge!!

deb said...

You can always tell when a parent is incoming. I lost the cam, but it reloaded without a parent.

Costume Lady said...

Dad came into the nest and left a morsel and you-know-who got it...no sharing. Maybe Mom will come with something they all can enjoy.

Costume Lady said...

Pearl has gotten pretty deft at tearing apart her food. Now, it is time for the others to take their turn.

Costume Lady said...

I think I am seeing Mother Nature at work. Pearl, the strongest, will have her tummy full and the next food drop should be enjoyed by the two lesser youngsters. Hope that is how it turns out...will see.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Pearl has gotten so big that watching her eat like that with her head down, it would be hard to tell if it was her or Belle1

deb said...

I just finished watching Lisa's videos of the BW chicks. They were great to watch. Too bad they don't do the live cam there.

paula eagleholic said...

intruder at PH

I think an eaglet just got knocked out of the nest at PH

MITS said...

oh no, Paula!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MITS said...

please keep us informed Paula, I hear a bird that sounds like an eagle in the background.

MITS said...

I'm getting sound at PH, but my pic is not moving

deb said...

I have picture but no sound.

deb said...

Someone is on the way to the nest, named Dave. They think the intruder snatched the chick and are hoping it dropped it and didn't get away with it.

deb said...

Paula is processing the video now.

MITS said...

thanks, Deb and Paula....I'm not getting any pic now, just sound.

deb said...

Dave Rempel is the man on the way to the nest. He is apparently not too far away, but that was just a guess from someone on the IWS site. I assume he is with IWS, but again a guess.

deb said...

Dave and a crew are on their way, but it is quite a hike to the nest, I don't know how long it will take.

MITS said...

thank heavens it is only 3:00p.m. there...hope they make it...have sound and pic that only refreshes between lengthy intervals

deb said...

No news now, just speculation and prayers. I will watch for when the video is ready, but Paula will probably let us know, too.

MITS said...

I can hear the adult...The IWS fans must be frantic....prayers for your eaglet IWS

paula eagleholic said...

OMG I have never seen that before...very scary to watch

PH intruder attacks eaglets

There are IWS crew members living on Santa Cruz...they are hiking to the nest...

Can you all hear what sounds like a baby eaglet peeping off the nest...

MITS said...

such soulful cries:(

MITS said...

yes, Paula, and hear the adult as well

deb said...

I was just coming to say Paula's video is ready, but see she has it up. How awful!!

paula eagleholic said...

I haven't had nest on latley, just too busy...decided to see what was happening....

Intruder, a juvie, attacked the nest twice, then landed on the patio (front right part) of the nest....then went up into the nest and snatched or knocked Spirit, the youngest out of the nest...Skye still in the nest...

You can hear an adult...sounds like K26...but no PH adult has been actually back on the nest...hopefully with eaglet on the ground...

Keep your fingers crossed...

paula eagleholic said...

The grassland nest on SC was attacked several weeks ago...both chicks and one parent died

deb said...

I restarted mine, so I have sound. I think I hear an eaglet, too. I hope it is ok and Dave and crew can help.

deb said...

I read about that in one of the IWS updates, no more heartache this year, please. It was hard to read about, but watching it is heartbreaking.

deb said...

OMG, I can't take this, now they are both gone.

paula eagleholic said...

OMG

Lolly said...

This is too much! My stomach is churning. What happened to the second PH eaglet. Was watching and then it disappeared!

MITS said...

oh crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

paula eagleholic said...

This is just awful

MITS said...

I don't hear any eagle sounds now:(

deb said...

It was an immature eagle that attacked the nest. They think it dropped both chicks, but that could be hopeful thinking. Paula saw adult fly after the attack, so maybe it did drop the second chick.

deb said...

I don't either.

MITS said...

ok hear adult now

MITS said...

Annemarie thought it was a red-tail hawk???? I have to look at video again, Ceil called me after she watched the video...

MITS said...

EAGLE ADULT BACK AT PH

MITS said...

26

deb said...

Someone said they don't have hawks on the island and Paula and some of the other IWS forum people saw blue wing tags.

deb said...

That is just heartbreaking.

MITS said...

I SAW THE BLUE WING TAGS ALSO, SO MY 1ST THOUGHT WAS EAGLE....

deb said...

Blue wing tags mean an eagle born on SC.

MITS said...

thanks, Deb

NatureNut said...

Oh No. I didn't have PH cam up to see what happened to 2nd chick. Little while ago got it up & parent came to nest & was screaming. Is gone now. Think it was 26?.

paula eagleholic said...

Heading home,

Pray they find both chicks at PH

MITS said...

it was #26 that was screaming...have to go fix dinner , hubby home

deb said...

If the intruder got the first chick, it wouldn't have come back for the second one, would it? I hope and pray that is right.

deb said...

IWS should take 30-45 minutes to reach nest tree, I bet today they get there faster.

MITS said...

don't know Deb:(

MITS said...

too bad they can't get a helicopter to fly them there.

MITS said...

just were zooming cam in and out at PH

MITS said...

do I here voices...yes I do...someone said hey mac

MITS said...

yes people are there!!!!!!!!!1
