GOOD MORNING NORMA, SHARON & ATHENA...
Suz, I am so glad you see MEGAN'S "SUN" changing too! She and Paula had me thinking I was hallucinating last night.

Thanks for the heads up, Megan.
Good morning, everybody!
Switch, BWO.
Have a great day. Back to work for me.

Suzanne said...

LOL Wanda! They must have been really good eagle talons!

floralgirl said...

Hello Norma, Sharon, and Athenaa. Still chilly here, but the sun is shining brightly, thank goodness.

floralgirl said...

Walked away for a little- but it looks like a small fish in the nest- and the adult is nowhere to be seen. The oldest chick is eating and sort of sharing with middly.

floralgirl said...

Oldest chick is mantling fish- Tiny can't get near it- and middly is trying to steal a bite but oldest is on top of it. Here is adult- looking around nest- chicks are noisy- oldest chick is trying to swallow rest of fish quickly- food fight- everyone is trying to get this little fish, including adult.

floralgirl said...

whoa- oldest chick just swallowed what was left of fish-right down the hatch- gonna need another fish-there goes adult.

One of our babies is certainly exercising his wings this am. I guess it's necessary before they fly.

I am getting frustrated! Plenty of computer problems this morning. Having trouble posting!

Anyway, tried to say, what a beautiful picture at NBG! Two eagles in beautiful color and that darling little eaglet peeking up. WoW!

Going to turn the computer over now to Jack. GRRRRRRR!!!!

Have a great day and I'll BBL!

GOOD MORNING, EVERYBODY...

It looks as though the chicks have arrived at the age where the parents just drop the food off and the chicks grab it and feed as they are able according to size, aggression, sneaky thievery.

No. 1 gets it of course, but surprisingly No 3 is up front trying to grab some, and No. 2 is trying to sneak in and steal some.

OK, I swear, when I found that sun it was a moving avatar, but I never saw it move once I started using it on the blog until last night when Wanda mentioned it. And it would only move sometimes when I refreshed. And even when it moves I still don't see a monster. SO again, if you are seeing monsters, pass whatever you're drinking this way..lol...

Goodafternoon everyone,,

I hope your all as well as can be today.

Just had the shock of my life..
I logged into Pete's Pond and in full living colour and extream close up THERE was fatty sun bathing,,, I could almost see his eye-lashes.
WOW,, you could knock me down with a feather,,,,,,

All seems quiet all round at the moment,,,chicklets look all comfy and cuddled up sleeping.

Angus is sitting nicely while Isla is off shopping.

Darling Mei is sound asleep too on her favorite log.

Su Lin is sat eating,, and Mei Lan is nowhere to be seen.

I can't hear a single bird outside in my garden.
I think that due to the most horrible Hail-storm we have just had,, stones as big as golfballs,, but quite beautiful to look at,,, all sorts of colours in them when you hold them up to the light.
And I've got 2 lines of washing out trying to dry too,,, oh well,,, I'll just have to do the ironing tomorrow I think.

OOOOOOOOO Tian, inside playing head-butting with his bong toy,, trying to get biggies out to eat.

love and hugs
Chrissy

Mine has stopped and restarted on its' own.

The sound is on and then off!!!

Suzanne said...

Awww, little chipmunk and big bluejay on PA cam!

movin said...

My feed has been exemplary today...with sound.

But yesterday and perhaps the day before, every time I would minimize it or put it in the background, the video side would have to be restarted! The sound wound on and on however.

The Friends of Blackwater are proud to announce the following winners in our 2008 Eaglet-Naming Contest.

Winners:

The winning name of "Intrepid," for our older eaglet, was submitted by Lenita Gullman from Middleton, New Jersey. Lenita and her husband came to Blackwater in the 1980s to see eagles.

And the winning name of "Destiny," for our younger eaglet, was submitted by Denny Motsco from Reston, Virginia. Note that several people submitted this name, but Denny was the first.

We liked the name "Intrepid" because it means fearless and courageous, and we liked the name "Destiny" because our younger eaglet seemed destined to make it, despite the lack of food early on.

Both Lenita and Denny chose an eagle cap as their prize and will also get a certificate.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our Eaglet-Naming Contest. If your entries didn't win this year, hang on to them and you can use them again in a future chick-naming contest -- they might just win next time.

Did you see that... One stretches it's left wing all the way out and airs it out, and a couple of seconds later another large one repeats the same thing with its right wing.

And it looks like they're all sleeping off the recent feeding.

Well, I probably should get busy. I've got to do a lot of stuff here ... with the painters perhaps going to be here.

And I've got to get ready to drive to N San Diego County for a funeral tomorrow. My brother-in-law's father died a few days ago. I think he and his family came to So Cal in the late 50's from New Haven (maybe), Connecticut. I met them at my sister's wedding, and they've been like family ever since.

Later, all.

Very distinguished & meaningful names for the pair at BWE! Lisa thinks they have 2 males but of course since no banding they'll never know. Mainly goes by their size. I guess we may need to come up with 3 such names! However; Pearl,Middy & Tiny are ok with me!

Suzanne said...

Hi all, back for a sec. Still 2 eggs in BWO. Congrats to BWE naming contest winners. Destiny is close to a name I submitted...Miracle, cause it's a miracle they both are still growing in spite of the lack of food!
See Belle is feeding our big chicks. Jackdaw just turned her eggs. Turkeys are in PA, one big tom flashing his tail feathers!
OMG, eagle on cam 1, Kent! how cool. Oh, Belle left, our kids are lined up. Big middle tiny on Spunky's and Lib's perch! Too funny.
