Sorry Jim I got the link from address bar for that you tube video. I am glad someone came on here finally and put it here. We are always talking on here about different cams. A lot like the Norfolk cam so colorful.

JimWhen they pan way out at Norfolk. In the upper right hand corner you could see eagles wings. They kept flying around up in the right hand corner. But they didn't pan enough to catch the fight.

Megan we had problems like that too. I finally ended up calling the company and it was a simple button push. What type of router do you have?
It's a linkys router, and I'm sure we are just missing something, just haven't figured it out- but she couldn't wait and is sitting on the floor using a cord to link to the router right now.

I am sure you have already tried this but if not, unplugged the router from the modem and plug it back in. Or check for a reset button on the back. Oh wait 20 sec before plugging it back in. Her computer is set up with a wireless adapter right?

If the router has more than one hole to plug into and the unplug thing doesn't work, try plugging into a different spot. I am trying to remember all the things we have had to do to get ours back online. (I know what you mean about You Tube, Zach never stops)
Eagle off nest at Norfolk again. I looked away for a second and it was gone.
I see what Janet thought was a wing in the right corner but it almost looks like a branch from another tree. I dont' know. Strange a "wing" keeps showing up in that same place.
Adult back in the nest now. "Wings" are gone in the corner. Maybe there is a tree there the intruder keeps going too. I don't know.
Hey Jill yeah she flew off the nest and there was fighting in the sky to the right your could clearly see the wings..Although i have been knowed to see things unclearly so ill just set back and watch... Now she is back but edgy .. Belle is honkered in sleeping head behind wing.. maybe she knows she is in for along night ahead...
You are probably right NIlla but isn't it strange they fight in the same place every time? I think there must be a tree there or something that they are flying too.
True but i was on phone talking with Dana and WE both saw samething at sametime ... at same area in sky... Oh well doesnt matter she is safe in the nest now.... I had asked eariler or rather stated that i found it amazing that they can reconize a intruder immediately... but apparently no one thought i was worth answering if they knew...
I guess they see each other the way we see other humans. Maybe we all look the same to them. I don't know. I think you probably did see wings, I also thing the intruder is in a tree just out of camera view to the right.
Nilla - I really don't think anyone knew the answer to your question or statement concerning how they knew it was an intruder and that is the only reason you didn't receive any replys.
Like Jill said - they probably think we humans look all the same! lol
I think we are all waiting for the DGIF biologist to sort all this out and post on his blog.
We must remember that the NBG eagle couple is in a new nest & could be in another eagles territory. That would explain the intruder in a nut shell. Glo said they weren't very friendly neighbors!
I don't think they moved the nest that far away from the old one to be in another eagles territory.
Here the answer to that from the DGIF blog - this is from the post talking about the new nest
"Although the new nest was within view of the old camera location, the picture was far from perfect. We played a waiting game to be certain that the birds would actually utilize the new nest. Once we were all reasonably sure that this was indeed the place the camera was moved to provide good coverage. The new nest is approximately 70 yards to the NW of the original site."

Did you read that Tom put camera 2 in that spot so when they build up the nest the camera will show the full nest? I hope they get to work soon!!

Hi again.
They should have sound at Norfolk, especially when something like today's territorial challenge happens. Last year's attempted takeover at the Maine site was a lot more comprehensible with the sound cranked up. And accomplished viewers can tell which sex is involved by the sound of the calls (I can't...yet).
Anyway, that was pretty exciting, and it would have been much more so if we could tell who was who and what was what.
Belle looks "set" right now and "in charge," but there's supposed to be more bad weather tonight and tomorrow.
I guess I'll sign off for the evening...

WE HAVE A LIGHT FREEZING RAIN falling right now at 24°. Just doesn't look good for Belle. Do you all remember the story of the Elephant that sat on an egg for a friend and the friend never came back? She sat on that egg through wind, rain, snow, sleet (just like Belle) and when the egg hatched, it was a flying elephant.
Maybe all this weird stuff that is happening on the blog has something to do with our new Live Feed. A new format, maybe?

Uno the beagle wins Westminster, first time for the breed. Uno the beagle won Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, the first time for the breed. He also became the first beagle to win the hound group at Westminster since 1939.
Oh Good the other day when I watched and then in the newpaper. They were saying the beagle might win.......oh that is great.

Eagle facing right now...still tenting.
12.01a.m. and it looks like it may be snowing or possibly raining again. She is tenting pretty wide. and there is a little accumulation on her upper back.
1:22am Belle is still tenting big time.. Head is pointing towards
3:00 position.
I suppose that when they tent like that there isn't a wing to tuck ther head under. Man oh Man Belle sure could use a pillow of fluff under her head. What an Eagle!!!
Off to bed......
Had to come back & tell you that she moved her head from one side to the other and then looked straight up at the cam and stared at me... I sure wish I could help her out!
2:30 Still tenting a bit. Not raining here at the moment but it has, I can see the ice accumulation on the side walk that wasn't there earlier. Poor Poor Belle.
She is still tenting...her head forward. I'm sure all bird go through this, but it tugs at my heart to watch it. I know that she will be fine and is doing everything correctly for her eggs!
Just got up with rain hitting my windows and feeling a little better and went to school today. I saw the snow/sleet on poor Belle earlier in the day and just had to come and see if she was ok now. My heart goes out to her as she fights this battle with nature to save her eggs. My prayers are with her tonight as she continues this fight.
I can see that others have the same feeling that I do. Hoefully everything will start to go their way after this.
It's an icy mess here, still raining and it freezes as soon as it hits the ground. All the schools are closed. I feel for Belle, thre's still some major rain coming through.
GOOD MORNING MEGAN AND ALL OTHERS THAT WILL BE ON VIGIL AT THE SHEPHERDSTOWN NEST. I was sure hoping that I would get up this morning to someone saying that it had started to get better weather up there for our eagles. Poor Belle is really tenting now, trying to keep the rain and ice off her eggs. I hope that she gets help from Liberty dudring the day with this task or is brought in some nourishment.
I'll be lurking from school today. We just have rain and high winds here. Makes me wish I could change laces for the day with the nest.

Oh I am such an eagle basket case. LOL. No one in here to even say good morning too yet. Woke up half an hour ago and couldn't go back to sleep. I wanted to and then I didn't want to check out the nest. Well it doesn't look as bad as I had invisioned it might look so for that I am very grateful. I have to go into work this afternoon so will be a busier morning now. Seems we have sickness at work too so I need to cover an extra shift. Wishing you all a great day. good morning! I'm heading into work late. The roads here in Inwood,WV are covered with ice. I see Belle is tenting to keep the eggs covered.
OK I have just seen that my BLOG is only loading 100 posts at a tiem with a newere older chocie to click at the bottom. Not sure if its a new google thing, something Steve has set up OR heck its early enough that it oculd have always been like this BUT I don't think so. No Wonder someone who is already a basket case gets confused.
Not sure who just flew in either. The way the cam hits the birds when they are up close makes them look so much larger than the one towards the back. The parent tenting is doing a wonderful job and doesn't seem to want to move from the eggs right now. The other parent made a visit and probably offered an exchange but no takers right now. Both are weathering the storm OK at this point though.Its always good to see them both at the nest.
Please be safe in your travels today everyone! I know I certainly don't want to go outside and fall again like I did last time!
Ok, made it out and back, still raining here hard. It's only 27° here, so it is really icy. Ice skates would work better here than boots. Just watched 2 hawks catch a bird of some kind. Can't decide if they were hunting together or fighting over the catch. One took it and flew off, other is still out front in tree.
