Yea, Paula it is a bright and cheerful pic. Trying to get the perfect close up picture of a hummingbird so I can use it as my pic. They love zooming around in this rain, fighting like crazy. Right now there are 4 having major battles outside my front door. Between the feeder and the flowering vines and plants there, there is plenty to fight over.
Tai is up a tree out side.. whats wrong with them Yaaaaahhoooozzz down there? Its raining hard the wind is blowing and that baby needs to be inside before he get sick!!! grrr and fire that damn camera driver to!!!!

Found this while looking at the HARRISBURG FALCON site seems we have lost another kid.. 8/28/2006 :: Update on Young Birds
The red-banded juvenile female was found injured near Safe Harbor, along the Susquehanna River, Lancaster County two weeks ago. Her injuries were severe. Despite the best efforts of wildlife rehabilitators, she had to put down. These young peregrines face many hazards in their first year of life. Among them, power lines, building glass and bridge support members. The cause of the injuries to this bird is unclear. As for the surviving three juveniles: blue-band, green-band and yellow-band, as far as we know they are okay; no news is good news. Green and blue were last seen near the nest ledge in mid-July. At this point, the juveniles are probably completely independent and will, or already have set out to explore new territories

Good morning all - got most of my 'battening down the hatches' done before the big rains hit later today. Now I need to go to Inwood to get my poochies meds and some food if they have any - I hope I hope they do - she'll be very cranky if not. Still not raining hard here. Maybe this soft rain will soften up the ground so some of the heavier stuff won't just run off and cause erosion.

It has been such a glorious morning watching the eaglet at NU! I can play lets pretend with that one!
Through with the typing part of my work day. Now I have to get ready to go to the hospital to train. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to wear my normal work clothes there (gown) so I have to get dressed. I will check back in before I leave though.

LunLun's cam isn't up as a few minutes ago. Interesting........ Update says that a specialist who knows how to handle baby pandas is headed to the zoo. Won't be long, I hope.
I think the eagle at NU is pretty smart...found a good place to hunker down for awhile w/ the storm coming.

SURFS UP BABY!!! Just read "WEATHERUNDREGROUD.COM Waves in the surf zone are 10 to 14 feet. And I'm sure there are a few nutcases out there surfing, not a smart thing. Sorry I did not go down, I love it when the weather is crappy, hubby on the other hand is like a caged lion, pacing back and forth because he does not know how to relax. So, I thought it best that I stay home and we can take Maggie out to dinner tomorrow night, and maybe go see another movie over the weekend or maybe we can get some things done around the house...NOT!!!
How cool is this to watch and eagle up at NU. If our cam was still up, I know we would see an occasional vist from our babies. Can't stop thinking about the baby falcon.

The NU eagle has been sitting on a fish all this time! That's why he was laying funny, Glo. I was wondering about that because when you looked at the previous pictures, it appeared he was mantling!

Our eaglets have still got to be around! Can't believe any of them have left yet, the one at NU in Massachusetts is still there.
Plus, they flew by Steve's window the other day. I am sure we would get to see them now and again if the cam was on, too.

They can't climb up there and fix the battery even if that would give us back the 30 sec cam though without frightening them off is my guess. We're gonna have to enjoy pretend and know chances are excellent its not REALLY pretend at all. JMHO

Oh, silly me, did I not tell you, MAGGIE, is in my life and I'm loving every second of being a Grandmother. I have some friends that don't like the idea of being a Grandmother. I'm very excited,because I may have just been visited by one of the kids. My house is at the corner of German and Duke Streets, two blocks from the river and about 5 miles from the nest. I was sitting in my upstairs library which has a window looking in the direction of the river. I have a large ash tree. I was reading when a motion caught my eye. I looked out and a large dark brown bird flew into the ash tree. I don't think it was a hawk or falcon, definitely not a buzzard much bigger than other birds. It stayed for about 5 minutes, but I couldn't get a really good look with my binoculars. Then the next door dogs bounced out and the bird flew off. I really think it was an eagle, probably one of ours.
Eaglet is still working on the fish, blackbird is pecking at scraps or whatever in the nest.
Something in right hand botton corner setting caught a glimpse .. This is way to funny its not putting that food down..lol

I did lots of Frapping. Sent a couple to sharon and one to Norma. My DSL takes a while to get them out of here. If you want them for your hard drive i will send to you, let me know. Also have a few nice pictrues. I will upload a couple of the video to the daily motion sight where i first put the fledges in a little bit. That way if you missed it you can see it without the download or taking up space on your hard drive.

I know what you mean....Got call from Daughter last night rather 2am this morning ...Mom Mom ferret sick...just "threw up" I can't take another animal leaving me Mom.
After I got her calmed down (her husband had her call me)...the vet called her back..said same thing I did....he got a piece of rubber even if tiny from somewhere.
So all is WELL with MY GRANDBABY Thank the Lord.

Not much circulation in the storm, that is when you get the heavier rain from the feeder bands that circle the eye of the storm. It's moving pretty much just straight up the coast, not too many heavy pockets of rain....
well good then the whole wknd isnt a wash out for those planning labor day picnic's and such... Just got here checking cams

Hi All, busy afternoon on here. Had to go to store, raining lightly, breeze is picking up a bit, lights flicker every now and then, even when i was in the grocery store the lights were flickering. Anyhow, when I got home, had a message from friend who lives in Fenwick Island, Delaware, about 15 minutes north of my place in OC. She and husband drove up to South Bethany Beach, Delaware, said they are having wind gusts up to 60 mph and the waves are around 16 feet, close to shore. Told me they would go down to my place to check on things when the storm passed. Do think it has hugged the coast more then coming inland right now.
Really am anxious to hear more on Lun-Lun!!!

That eaglet has really added a special touch to my day. Playing pretend turned to being pretty homesick too though. I do believe however this same scene is being played out inour nest too. Oh my think that bug was big enough for dessert.
