That NU eaglet reminds me of Inbetween. Really has a white tail.
I remember someone saying that mid OCT is the usual migration time - I just love looking at this nest.

I generally don't have a problem getting into NU, comes right up, can even get it on dialup! Just say connecting, then ready, and no pic. But this computer has not been on it's best behaviour today....so, I'll try later.
Cool, that info from BW explained that pic that Mits took the other day...eagle was moving it's head from side to side, releasing food from it's crop.
More info...those are fish crows that bug the NU eaglet!
Paula, thanks for all the information. More is revealed all the time. What a learning experience this has all been for me for sure! Fish crows, never knew there was such a bird.

I am so amazed at how black and white Buta Buta is getting! Beautiful.
Well, I was just reading the updated update from yesterday. It appears that Buta Buta did not vocalize during the exam at all so Lun Lun did not even know she was gone and did not get upset at all. She ate the whole time. That is wonderful although you could tell she smelled something different about her when she picked her back up. Or at least, that is what I thought!
There is a very informative update on LunLun & Cub concerning yesterday's exam. It really wasn't traumatic for LunLun which is good.

Tai finally decided to come down out of the tree and try to nurse. He just pushed Mei right over and started nursing.
Mei must be needing him to nurse cause she pulled him back to her.
Buta Buta is alone and sliding down off that heap of straw. They need to get some of that out of there, in my unexpert opinion.
OMG when I left the house this morning I had no idea I was stuttering! What the H is wrong with this blog? Oh , I am in for BWater, just tell me where and when to meet you, Paula! My part time job just turned into a full time job for about a month- they wanted me to work weekends, but I said no way. I work every weekend since May 1st. Then again in December, I'm enjoying the next months worth!
Frodocam is now in color. Tai is still nursing. Tian Tian was on the other side of the screen. MT nest at NU. Buta Buta all alone, just like me! BW MT.

The eaglet is talking to somebody or perhaps calling for food! He is just kind of laying there. Has quite a few white feathers on his tail. Wind blowing his feathers, looks so serene!

Wow, still not much going on! Where'd you all go???
HELLO EVERYONE Maggie her Mom and other Grandmother left around 5:30 p.m.They could only stay overnight, as, Annie has some work to do for her job and is going to CT this weekend. My sisters are her til tomorrow. Wonderful day on the beach with Maggie, she just loves being with people, she started turning over from her stomach to back this past Saturday and she thinks that is soooo much fun. I cried when she left, I missed her before she went out the door. Happy as a clam for the Baby Girl Cub in Atlanta. Beautiful day at the beach, calm waters, warm breeze and tons of dolphins this a.m. Take care, I'll try to keep in touch, took me about an hour to catch up on posts.

I had left a voice message this afternoon on her cell phone. I called back a little while ago - caught her out on RT 81 coming into Martinsburg from a b-day party. Was so good to hear her voice! She has been working most days for a few hours - not hard work as she describes it! She will do her best to get into this blog later & cheer us all up! She still has discomfort in her groin - but dizziness had gone. Still on same medications. Told her I'd go over & get the Mega Lotto ticket & bail her out of debt!
I know we all miss her - when she is here-that's when the party begins.
Vicky Sounds like you are now getting a 'puter virus. I had like an upset stomach that lasted almost a week. Hope that's not what you're getting. Didn't slow me down - just very uncomfortable & got tired of eating crackers & toast.........

Mits Good to see you stopped in to say Hi too. Your time at the beach sounds very enjoyable. I definitely understand how hard it is to watch those little ones leave. Especially when they are very young, changes seem to happen so very quickly. I am sure you got to enjoy Maggie's newest skill of rolling over!!
Sounds like plans for a fun trip With Chocolate Chip cookies are well underway. I am sure that is going to be one very fun time!!! Our little eagles have certainly brought a lot of people together who never knew each other before. Some are just a little further away, and can get there quite as easy BUT I will make it there, and I can tell Vicky is coming back. Hopefully the new season will add even more Feathered friends from a variety of places
I have been up since 5 am and pretty much going steady most of the dya, so am not staying on tonight.
I will Blog some tomrrow. Neighbor and I are trying to decide if garage Sale is going to be a Go or not for the weekend. if it is, set up is tomorrow. Forecast is kinda cold and rainy looking though LOL.

I can't catch up on the blogs completely, but I tried to skim for the highlights - I liked reading Steven's thoughts that we might have a robo cam and sound - what wonderful possibilities! Buta Buta is all alone
Well, that was about 7 mins of uninterrupted viewing of ButaButa lying there alone in the straw. Would I have not liked to have reached in & scooped her up to cuddle? Oh, Yes! She is so precious. I can't get over the precise markings that have already appeared. Those little ears are sooooooo black.
I took the time to watch the 4 video clips listed under the DC panda cam.
I guess that is what we have to look forward to.
Little Ledge Lodger Sleeping
Just watched the 2 most recent film clips of the eyasses. It really give you a good view of how fast they are growing. Really starting to move around on the ledge. They still like to sleep alot!
BBL Need to fold some clothes from dryer..... Getting sleepy......
What a coincidence, I was just putting clothes into the dryer, after I finished the dishes. Off to bed myself, long day tomorrow.

It looks like Lun Lun is smiling, and Buta Buta is right in the crook of her arm. Mema Jo, I am with ya about scooping that baby up and doing some snuggling. She looks so much smaller when we see her like this than she really is -- a foot long - man, that is some snuggling material!!

Oh, my G., only 130 comments this evening!! I'm very glad to hear Nilla is doing well, and I hope the rest of you are as well.
I read the little blurb on the Blackwater site about the "Fish Crow," but I doubted there was such a thing really... wwrrroonnng was I... There is a good article in Wikipedia about it..worth reading.
I'm tired tonight and enjoying a liberally educated gourmet's meal of preference:
half a can of Bush's baked beans and a smoked sausage....(Oh yeah, and a chunk of wheat French bread). Couldn't be happier.

I promised Jo i would stop in afew minutes.. So much going on right now and many many things to take care of personally. Besides my problems my family isnt well my daughter is ill... my step mother has been in Washington Country hospitol now for 2 wks had major surgery and not doing well... October 1st my dad has his knee replaced.. My sister was in a terrible accident March 30th and she had a MRI and her pelvis is still broken never healed and either they are sending her to Baltimore or Hershey Medical center for surgery..And getting this time of year now my sister who died last Nov is on my mind alot.. Oh yes i am still Nicotine free and clean lost count of days now since August 14th... Worrying about all this and my problems i honestly have been very depressed, so if i am not here for awhile dont worry please.. By the way anyone who has not seen it on Denbury Farms day time they have a beautiful white dove on anest.. She is beautiful... Ok nighty niters, Nilla Oh talked with Dana tonight also keep her in your prayers also...
Oh, Nilla, I'm so sorry. Would you like me to put you on our prayer list at church--I just would like your name which I have seen, but forget. But in any case, know that you are never alone--you are in the thoughts and prayers of so many.
I did go to the sycamore tree this evening and saw gazillion deer, but no eagles. But the nest is there and visible so it's just a matter of time.
I have learned so much from this blog, and God bless all of you.
By the way,Nilla, my husband had his knee replaced in April, and the most important thing is to do the therapy after the surgery. Listen to the therapists--it really works.
At 12:23 Tai is in his little den and Mei is up on the rocks--they've just been up and interacting. Chicks are awake in Brisbane, no adults. Lun Lun curled up, Tai's future wife not visible. Good Night.

Have to keep focused on the good stuff in our lives, but at times it is hard.
