AMEN for color in the nest!

So glad we got to see both this morning!

Kay said...

Lower heat and humidity here and also, according to 97.1fm, in D.C., so no doubt our lovely birds are more comfy, just as we are !

Julie and an old friend from college days, Kelly, will be here about 10 for iced tea and chat. Looks like we may be able to enjoy it out on the deck. Hurray !

Lori O. said...

You're right KAY! Beautiful weather for the next few days after the hot and humid gross, sweaty weather we've had.

MEGAN will surely love the cooler temps. We miss you Megan!

Kay said...

Ha, the Split came sneaking in ! Looks like you got wax, LORI.

TRUDER isn't budging or the still cam is not working ???? No change in him or leaves for several refreshers

Lori O. said...

Isn't this nice?

Senate & House members will take the field today at National’s Park (in Washington, DC) for the annual Congressional Baseball Game. Members generally sport uniforms of teams in their home states. The game raises money for the Washington Literacy Council and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington. TICKETS ARE $10.

Lori O. said...

No thanks KAY. I had the wax on my eyebrows yesterday!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Good morning my friends! Sorry it has been so long since I popped on to say hello! If I start blogging, I usually get so far behind in work that I can't recover! Then when I get off, I am not at the computer. Do not mistake my absence for not loving you guys! Hope everyone is well in their worlds this morning. Have a great day!!

Kay said...

MARGY's Tom delivers homemade cookies ! Wonder if he has a background in catering or cheffing. She plans to test drive the 2nd tomato. How about test driving that good neighbor, huh ?

WANDA and GG, ready to join a class action suit agains Oil of Olay. Yes ! So far, no moisture leakage, but we'll know for sure about 10 p.m. LOL.

Kay said...

Now I'm thinking what I see as Truder's rump is simply nest material. Oh, live cam, how I miss you. I'm wondering, with Steve in WI, will we have to wait a few days before getting it back ?!

Kay said...

SISSY, you're a sight for sore eyes ! Happy to "see" you here this morning !

If I were in D.C. I'd be at that game today. Good fun and funds for a good cause. Hope the game gives those folks a needed break and that they return to debt limit talks refreshed and ready to rise above politics at last !

Kay said...

Of course, that should be "against" in my 5:53 post.

Lori O. said...

That's NOT gonna happen (baby carriage). MARGY would you hurry this along so I can finish the song? ♥

Lori O. said...

Good Morning SISSY! Thanks for taking such good care of our Southern Delegation! I hope you and your family are well and happy!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

We are all well this morning as far as I know. Mattie goes for her sonogram on her gallbladder at 7 this morning. Tom and I and a couple of our friends are going to Natural Chimneys campground in the Shenandoah Valley camping in the morning. We are taking our popup camper up there. We tent camped last year at Chief Logan State Park and I have no desire to do that again anytime soon! Too old for my butt on the ground! We have decided to keep the popup for just such occasions. The other camper is just too big to pull and it would be a pain in the tush to drag it in and out of our site at the lake.

Kay said...

Perfect, well almost perfect, song for lovebirds, LORI !

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

So Margy has a feller? How exciting! Yay Margy! You go girl!! And he delivers homemade cookies! Wow, where in the world do you find a feller like that??

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

What else have I missed?

Kay said...

Oooh, SISSY, you and your Tom are getting a good get away ! Have fun ! Tell Thelma and Sharon to report in on Mattie's test---only 45 minutes away. Praying for her !

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I have cardinals in all stages of juvenile and adult out here, which is not surprising from all the cardinals we had all winter. The juveniles are so awkward and beautiful!!

Kay said...

Beautiful avatar, Sissy ! This morning's brief Nestcapade was the first time Belle and Truder have appeared for a couple of days. One day we could hear them calling and ruffling feathers, apparently just off camera. You haven't missed much camera wise.

DanaMo said...

I'm late!!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I haven't watched any cams at all for days and days. This has been such a disheartening season to say the least. I do have the still cam up and of course have to check in on the pandas every once in a while.

DanaMo said...

Yea...what's going on with the panda's? I get updates from the National Zoo but I feel like they are just teasing us to get us interested. Do you think she's pregnant? When will she have this stick of butter if she is pregnant. That's the only way we will know for sure right?

Lori O. said...

Good Morning DANA MO!

Are you feeling better? I hope those Flying Labs have you smiling!

Kay said...

Hi DANAMO ! You did miss the dynamic duo. Maybe they'll return, it's still early. How's that neck today ?

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I doubt that she is pregnant, but boy it sure would be nice. I have a fear that we are going to lose her if she doesn't have another baby. I am afraid they are going to send her to China. It has been 6 years since Tai was born.

Kay said...

SISSY, I hope Sharon is starting her day with 97.1fm---Hey, Soul Sister just came whistling down the track !

DanaMo said...

Well they were suppose to go, weren't they, and China extended it?

I'm doing okay. I don't like taking the medicine and thought maybe I could stop today, but I had another "episode" last night so I better take it today. I think that's why I'm sleeping late. Too many "drugs".

The Flying Labs are good. Boomer wasn't too happy with me typing, he kept nosing my arm making it difficult.

We leave for CA next Wednesday and I am so worried about leaving my dogs, how crazy is that?

T-Bird said...

Good morning eagle peeps.

Lori O. said...

THELMA - a great gLORIous morning to you!

Have you recovered from the Dentist?

Lori O. said...

DANAMO what's up in CA? I left there 9 years ago July 5.

SISSY, can't believe TAI was born 6 years ago. Gosh, time flies!

Kay said...

Top o' the mornin' to you, THELMA ! Are Sharon and Mattie leaving for the test soon ? Perhaps you're going along, too. Whassup ?

Kay said...

Are your parents taking care of the Labs, DANA ?

Lori O. said...

SISSY, SHARON - I need your family tree to remember everyone! lol ♥

Kay said...

LORI, it seems to me you are one lucky gal. You get to take your friends to work with you every day ! We love your smiling voice, your freshly waxed brow and your newly coifed locks !

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Sorry, had a renegade dog to escape! Hubert seizes every opportunity to hit the road. I hadn't shut the door all the way and he got out! He was down at the bottom of our hill in our neighbor's yard! He cannot be trusted.

Back to work Eagle Buds! I will catch you all later. Give all that I missed my love!

DanaMo said...

My uncle lives in CA with his family. My youngest cousin is getting married at Disney on Friday the 22nd. This is the first time we are taking the whole family. Monte and I went 2 years ago when the other cousin got married and had a blast, this time it's for the kids. I mean, with a Disney wedding how could we not take the kids! :) They are very excited and my 20 year old is going to meet a girl that he has been a pen pal with for 6 years or so and has never met. He is very excited.

T-Bird said...

Mattie's on her way to her test. Sharon's test is at 8:45 and my dentist appointment ended up being just an assessment. Next Friday the work will be done. Hopefully I won't think about it until Friday. : )

Kay said...

Well, well, look at the time ! Heading for e-mail, newspapers....

HAGD and see ya latah ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Lori O. said...

KAY, yes I am very blessed to have all my best friends at work with me - well, those who are awake. :)

THELMA, we'll do our best to keep your mind off Friday, but generally Friday is all I can think about! :)

Catch you later SISSY - don't be a stranger. It was nice to "see" you this morning.

Best wishes and prayers for Mattie and Sharon on thier medical tests today.

DanaMo said...

No, one of my oldest son's friend's is staying at my house. It's just that my dogs get into so much when they are not watched. I just hope he realizes that I expect him to stay here and play with them and watch them at all times! LOL! Seriously, when you have pups that eat everything you have to be so careful and after Frisbee fell in the pool 2 weeks ago I'm even more paranoid. The kid who is watching them is a good kid and obviously I trust him or I would have boarded them, but I still worry. Mom and Dad are going to the wedding too.

magpie said...

Good Morning Eagle Pals, and Congratulations Kay and Lori:

You were UP to See the Eagles !
Bravo!
I think I could hear your elation through my dreams

Good to see you Thelma and Sissy and DanaMo also...

and I left very little time to chatter away....

Sissy - folks are just teasing me because I have a very nice neighbor who likes to cook and likes to share...☺

Thinking of Mattie right now
also for Sharon later with the gum growth treatment...
and T-Bird, I'll forget about your dentist appointment until next week also !! ☺

Hope you feel better every minute, DanaMo

and Best Wishes for a Great Day, Everyone !

I hope to be able to check in from work

xoxo ♥

Lori O. said...

DANAMO - I absolutely understand how you feel about leaving the labs. When I lived in CA I had a friend in Santa Barbara who would NOT go on vacation unless I could come and stay at her house. Her huge house is always immaculate and she would just say "don't worry about cleaning the house, just take care of my babies, that's all you have to worry about." That was 8 cats, 3 dogs and 11 long horn cattle, and her plants which she loved, too. Gosh that was fun! I felt like Dr. Suess!

DanaMo said...

:) Lori-that's just how I feel. Just take care of my babies. Enjoy the pool, eat whatever you want, and take care of my babies!! Oh and the turtle and the plants...well I would like it if he does, but all's I care about is the dogs.

grannyblt said...

Morning all.

You all are reading my mind. I am going to AK in a couple of weeks and planned to board Daisy at the vets, but found out yesterday they don't do that anymore. I'm hoping the dog loving neighbors will help me out. I hate to take her to an unknown facility.

DanaMo said...

It's so hard, we love our pets so much. I have a hard time boarding them because I know they are in a kennel and only walked at certain times, and I'm sure not played with an loved like they are at home!

DanaMo said...

Well I'm off for the day. See you in the morning! :)

Judie said...

Good morning!

Much to catch up on this morning.

Chapter 1

Saw my first Monarch of the summer yesterday. Wish it had been in my yard but maybe soon.

Mattie should do just fine this morning and at least there will be more information for treatment.

Wishing Sharon's friend the best and wishing Sharon an easy time with that gum.

Hope has been collared. Collar is a bit loose around the neck but she has a large head so collar may stay on.

Lori, so happy you have a good cut and style. A good cut is the key. Congratulations on the grand nephew.

Lori O. said...

We do what we have to to insure that our loved ones, including pets are cared for and LOVED.

Six months after Perry died I adopted my first bulldog, Maffie. Three weeks later I had a work trip to Orlando & I wasn't about to send him back to his foster home and get him all confused, so my younger brother and his family drove down from PA just to take care of him for me. I will always be grateful for that.

DIANN, what kind of dog is Daisy?

Judie said...

Good morning!

Chapter 2

Wanda, really so nice that you and the Capt. had a little quiet time for yourselves. Very happy to know that GG has a new doctor and may get some pain relief.

Lolly, do really hope Jack gets some help and relief. Maybe a second opinion?

Bambi that visited last Sat. had velvet antlers. So pretty.

Margie, I am so happy you were given home-baked oatmeal cookies. Tom Sweetie is a very nice neighbor. Know the inspection will be fine today. Now, would you please return the shovel you borrowed last Sunday?

Kay, about the Oil of Olay issue...a class action law suit would absolutely be in order. After all, Ms. Anthony got away with murder. Go for the biiiiiiiggggg $

No S.B. yet. A small spider and lots of grasshoppers.

Sissy, have a nice weekend.

Okay, off to do some less interest things. Wishing everyone a lovely day.

Lori O. said...

Oh JUDIE! You must have been elated seeing that Monarch. I really love your avatar! It says, "I love Monarch Butterflies!"

I love my new do since it's my first ever wash 'n go. How did your do come out? Did you go for a big change? :)

magpie said...

Judie!
I took it on purpose, the shovel...knowing that I would have to personally return it to you.... equals another visit and more iced tea and cookies sometime !

grannyblt Lynne:: oh dear, sure hope things work out for your borading plans for Daisy....I would so love to offer to come and take care of her while you are gone...

magpie said...

Lori:

I was a'listenin to you and your gal co-worker on the way to work this morning...sure glad I did not have any of the traffic delays and sink holes on MY way to work..

xoxo ☺

magpie said...

about the inspection:
sure the landlord and inspection team will notice the unfinished repair to the ceiling in the bathroom from the leaky conditions upstairs...first round of repair started before Memorial Day....I think they forgot it was not finished....
that might earn me some brownie points ☺

magpie said...

time to try to earn my salary now.

Used to love the early morning posting when I was a Baby Momster, with T-Bird..she would say it is time to go Make Dough...
I thought she worked in a bakery!

Hope everyone seen and unseen is doing okay !

xoxo ttfn ♥

magpie said...

Oh Hedgie:
Cro sent me a text message this morning said all is going well...
I had the chance to write back and say "Ok Punkie "

magpie said...

that would be Caro, I think I left a letter out

Judie said...

I WANT MY SHOVEL RETURNED AND SOON!
Wonder if the inspectors will decide the repair needs to be finished and finished very quickly. Hope so.

Just crossed my mind that I forgot to say I'm glad Joe and Alexis and her dad had a nice time yesterday. Love Paneras.

Also no Shirley this morning. Hoping she doesn't have more critter crises.

Lori, my hair is short so not much to change. I just get color and highlights and the cut is more like grazing.

Okay, really leaving now. Bye

Judie said...

Happy Bastille Day. Let's have a round of applause for Charles Darnay!

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Didn't get back on last night to say good night. Long story.

Meanwhile, I see something about Margy and G&T and someone named Tom.

And that Hoda's family is about to increase.

And Annie has become a little monster for canned food.

,,, Lynne's Steve is looking for a Momster/Dadster get-together in the fall. I think lots of us are.

And--Steve likes us! So do I.

Jo has encountered some kind of printer problems. So have I. My new computer does not like my printer.

We have a full buck/thunder/hay moon. I have learned so much about the different names for phases of the moon since finding this site.

Alexis likes Bible School, but has Jonah confused with either John or perhaps Pinocchio. Hmm, I remember my Sunday School children coloring (colouring) the Red Sea red.

There is some kind of issue for Judy over driver's licenses. I have to check that out.

Liesl is going to middle school to study furniture chewing. Do they teach advanced furniture chewing in high school?

Pink toilets? Yellow toilets? Mine are the kind of tan that borders the blog here. I think Lori mentioned that color?

Still reading , , ,

stronghunter said...

Ah, Charles Darnay. Applause for him.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Mattie's test is over but no results yet.

stronghunter said...

I spent a large amount of last night on the phone with various relatives. Was trying to find out the date of the Ranson family reunion in Huntersville, but have not been successful yet.

Was also trying to obtain tickets to Wicked. Was not successful with that one either. The little circle thing on my computer that said "please wait" went round and round for an hour before I gave up and went to bed.

Did not want to disturb things, so did not get back on the blog, but when it was still circling when I got up at about 2:00 AM, I shut it down. So I either have no tickets or twice as many tickets as I want. I will speak with a real person today.

stronghunter said...

Hunter and I will go to Culpeper today so I can speak with my financial advisor and return the laptop to the tech people.

stronghunter said...

Hope it is a good day for Mattie and that all of the tests turn out well, Sharon.

stronghunter said...

On toilets . . . I am more concerned about their flushing ability than their color, and mine flunk the flushing test big time. Water-saver toilets do not save water when you have to flush three times.

Also tired of the overflowing problem. Not good, especially when it happens to a guest.

Was considering replacing them before the big change in my household situation brought on new expenses. Now, I am not sure what I will do.

stronghunter said...

Applause for Sydney Carton as well.

stronghunter said...

Possibly, my Wicked tickets will be shipped to Oregon on some kind of international shipping plan--at least that is what the information on the site said. Maybe that is why it was spinning for so long. Calculating that many errors would take awhile.

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNINIG EVERYONE...

GOOD LUCK, SHIRLEY, speking with a live person...hope it is not Peggy:)

Costume Lady said...

Everyone that I know who has a "water saver" toilet, has to flush and hold down the lever for a few moments, or flush a second time. Our church was the same way...all toilets are being replaced to WHITE 1 flush toilets.

stronghunter said...

It isn't just the matter of the small amount of water; it is the matter of the very small opening in the toilet. The small water container has been removed so that mine now provide more water, but there is no way to do anything about the small opening except to purchase new toilets.

Would like to dynamite the damn things.

stronghunter said...

Should have said #$&*@@ things.

stronghunter said...

Just posted some pictures of the new arrivals at the animal sanctuary where Susan volunteers. Not raccoons! Will try to post a link on FB.

hedgie said...

Good morning from beautiful WV-----a lovely one, for sure.

Posting as I go......
Lori, dry cat and dog food is much better for their dentition than moist/wet. AND---remember---what goes in wet comes out wet!

Re: big babies.....can result if mom is even borderline diabetic.

I see live cam is back up and that you early birds saw a nest visit!!! Neat!

Lori O. said...

Hello LYNN!

SHIRLEY - OMGosh, baby skunks!!!
How adorable, but the obvious question is how does one get that close without having to take a bath in tomato juice?
Adorable. I've never even seen a picture of baby skunks before. Thanks for posting!

hedgie said...

Good to see Sissy popping in! Enjoy your weekend trip, gal!!
Hope Mattie's sonogram shows NO problem!!

Lori, would love to see your new DO! Get Kate to snap a pic and post it for us!!

Kay, enjoy your tea time with Julie and her friend. Perfect weather for a deck sit-in!

Lori O. said...

Hitting the road...I'll share this with you, and only you, it's what I call pee and leave - have to potty first or can't stop anywhere on the way home. I would never make it. TMI, but it's true.

Less hair must get more AIR to my HEAD. LOL!

8 million things to get done and lots of sleep to catch up on - I know it doesn't work that way.

HAGD all!

stronghunter said...

Jenna, the wildlife lady, described the way you deal with skunks. I remember some of it--something to do with the fact that they warn you if they are going to spray, but I would not want to count on that.

Also, I do not know if baby skunks are fully equipped to spray. I think Jenna does not prefer to deal with skunks and sent them to another rehabber.

She actually keeps baby raccoons in her house. I know I wouldn't want skunks in my house.

hedgie said...

Sissy----no new man in Margy's life. Just a nice neighbor that we can't stop teasing her about!!!

DanaMO---NZ awaiting urine test results form yesterday.....her maternal actions increased again in last couple of days....but time IS running out....they SHOULD know more when the results come in---I haven't been to FB yet to see if they've posted. I think the testing is done at the Front Royal ,VA facility.

hedgie said...

Sawyers are back nearby---making lots of unpleasant noise when it would be nice to sit outside here. :(
Also just witnessed a squirrel nest falling.. .heard a rustle of leaves and looked in time to see it crashing down--even made a thud when it hit the ground....sure hope it was an old one! Too late for younguns, I hope, too!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Two years ago this morning, God blessed me with that wonderful gift of desperation. I could either go on as best I could to the bitter ends . . . or find a new way to live. The freedom I feel today can only be experienced but never explained.

stronghunter said...

DanaWV,

Re your question about what the chinchillas do with the toy flowers. I think they chew it. Susan referred to it as a chew toy.

paula eagleholic said...

Morning, all!

The Live Feed is up! No sound here.

hedgie said...

Sissy, Mits says there will be one more attempt for Mei----this coming winter.....so we have a year with her at the least....if she does produce, then we will be safe at least for awhile.....all big IFS because she certainly doesn't appear to be a fertility goddess.

stronghunter said...

Sorry about the unpleasant noise, Lynn. Hope it ends soon.

Bless you, Sharon. I know something about the feeling of desperation and the feeling of freedom. Sometimes, you do not know you were desperate until you are free.

hedgie said...

VERY cool reason for a trip to LA, DanaMo. Sure would be cool if you and Andy and Jim could all hook up for a meet and greet.....???????

stronghunter said...

We can always hope for a new panda; I guess the rest is up to the pandas and the zookeepers.

hedgie said...

Good morning, T-bird! Bet it's a lovely morning in Bluefield, too!

stronghunter said...

BBL. It's going to be a busy day.

paula eagleholic said...

Ah, I hear a touch of the wind on the live feed.

hedgie said...

Dana, glad that you have someone you trust to come take care of the 4-legged kids!
Gee--Lori--didn't realize that Santa Barbara was "farm" country! Not the part I saw--but that was probably only where US 1 went through!
Lynne1---do you have family in AK? Sorry about your vet....I had to change vets a few years ago for that reason. I will NOT board at a kennel---only at a vet facility.

hedgie said...

Margy---did Caro respond back???? LOL!!! I bet she was, too!!

Judie, you and Lolly must have an inside scoop on Hope---I still haven't seen that info, but I am SO glad that she is collared.

Did Margy REALLY borrow a shovel from you, Judie??? Hmmmmm......

hedgie said...

Shirley, I am with you on the stupid "efficient" toilets that AREN'T! Ticks me off big time. Of course, I don't pay for water, but running the pump does use electricity!

hedgie said...

HAPPY REBIRTH ANNIVERSARY DAY, Sharon! Very proud of you! Gee---sure seems like that was a long time ago!!!

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda, Adorable pic of Jaden.

Judie said...

Oh good grief! Shirley is "speking" with Peggy to get tickets to see Wicked when it opens in Oregon.

Judie said...

Congratulations, Sharon. Loving support always.

Bear Update: Hope being collared is on the daily bear updates under that title. Think it was posted two days ago. Yesterday and today were about the males such as One-eyed Jack.

Judie said...

Lori, if you haven't left yet or when you next check in, safe travel and hugs to your Mom.

hedgie said...

Wonder why I'm not getting the bear updates recently on FB???? ARGH!

HODA, wonderful news and welcome to Harry Nathaniel !

I enjoyed visiting with the "girls" and catching up on the last two years in all our lives. Yes, the weather was ideal for "decking" !

Paula, thanks for the info on the release of the NBG trio. I haven't had time to take a look at them today, but will want to visit a little more often til' release day.

Time to pay a few bills. BBL

Hoda said...

Thanks Paula for the news of the release of the eaglets from Norfolk.

Hoda said...

I should have said Paula thanks for the information on the upcoming release of the eaglets from Norfolk. The last post sounded like they were released and it was confuding.

Hoda said...

I guess I am cofude!!! What a confuding situation...that would be confusing...fingers not working well this morning.

I am off to yoga and see you all later in the afternoon.

Can we see the Norfolk eagles? I haven't really checked since they lost their mom, I just pulled up the cam and it doesn't look like anything.

Mema Jo said...

Hi DanaMO They are still on the usual cam Link

It is said that if they aren't visible in their flight cage......

Congowings:
There is another perch swing out of our view that they like to perch on. The nest is no longer in the enclosure. There is another 'step perch' out of sight too.

Sharon I got your back, GalFriend! loL ((hugs))

The wait is over and you can certainly celebrate Harry Nathaniel
Such a beautiful name! Hope they send you a picture or two very soon.

Lolly said...

Hellooooo Momster!! I do hope all are well and doing great today!

Up early and out into the yard. Fast way to loose 2 pounds. LOL However, have put it back on drinking water.

Dan update...nothing new. They did x-rays yesterday and again today. Stomach pump still in place. He was eating ice chips but they were coming back out as fast as he could put them in. YUCK! He is not in pain, his stomach is not hard and bloated, but then he is not eating either. We are just waiting!!

Jack is leaving right now for the doctor and his neck. He went to the dentist this morning and he is going again after going to the doctor. He says his tooth is better. Trying hard to avoid a root canal.

I am very glad he is getting his neck checked. This really bothers me. I hate it though with him on muscle relaxers...he sleeps all the time and that is not like Jack.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
So glad to hear that the eagles visited us this morning! Hope the live cam is fixed soon. I know they are working on it.

Have been praying for Mattie this morning--hope all test results are good!

Also praying for Lolly's BIL, Dan. Hopeful they can get him fixed up successfully!

Hope that Margy's apt. inspection works out OK. It probably doesn't look as bad as you think, Margy!

Gosh, I am pretty miserable this morning. Maybe Lynn can help figure this out. I have something on my right earlobe that started yesterday. I think it's a bite from a biting fly, but not sure. Hubby and I both got bit by something at the dog park on Sunday afternoon, that didn't start to itch right away, but oh boy, crazy itchy now. My right earlobe started itching yesterday, and it had a bump on it. I scratched a bit too hard, and it's been seeping a bit of clear fluid. Now today, it doesn't itch, but my earlobe is feeling hot, and it's swollen to twice its normal size! I've put Neosporin on it (the kind that has a topical anesthetic in it), so it neither itches or hurts.
The fly bite on my leg has itched violently since Monday, and is improving slowly. Couldn't see it at all at first, but now is a red spot about the size of a dime. My ear looks like someone clobbered me with a 2x4 it's so swollen. Any ideas/suggestions?

hedgie said...

Andy, certainly could be a bite....but sounds like whatever it WAS, it is NOW a cellulitis. I think a trip to the Dr. is in order...you probably need an antibiotic. Start compressing with hot salt water! And take Benadryl, too!! OTC dosage as sold is 25 mg. 50 mg. is normal adult dose when prescribed. Hope you get some rapid relief. And, of course, NSAID is in order to for inflammation and discomfort.

Lolly said...

Lynn, go to Bear Chat Picture Place and there is a picture with Hope with her collar. Also, they had a fund raiser last night to celebrate Hope getting her collar.
Very interesting that nothing has been said on the Lily Bear page.

Live cam IS working, Andy----it's been up since mid-AM!

hedgie said...

Lolly, it is lovely here....81°, breeze and low humidity.
I blew off decks, vacuumed out truck and did its windows.
Got out my box of paraphenalia for Animal Advocates. We have been invited to participate in a 4-H Pet Safety Day at the fire hall on Sat.

hedgie said...

Jo...maybe it WAS nuts in the nest---also possible that a supporting branch fell, too and that I didn't see it!

Only 4 images on still cam--and none of the spotty's. :(
Very confused, tho'---I have it set on video---and it only took stills. Need to consult Father Capt. Gene on that!

hedgie said...

Okay, Lolly...will check that page.....don't have it, so will search for it!

hedgie said...

WOW----great pic! I thing Faith wants one, too!

Lolly said...

Oh, good! Glad you saw the picture. That is how I found out.

hedgie said...

I'm getting ready to mix up a cheater Red Velvet cake!!

Lolly said...

Do NOT tell me about your wonderful weather. Just makes me so jealous!! Presently 102.6. Just awful!!! I have several plants just cooking, leaves are turning black. Even the English Ivy is turning brown and it is not for lack of water. OMG!! Our water bill is going to be unbelievable!!!

Lolly said...

Well, I have tried calling Barbara about getting my do done next week. She did not answer her phone, will try again in the morning. Must get it cut again before heading to the beach.

Costume Lady said...

Lynn, our cam only takes 'stills' after dark and only video during daylight hours. When were your pics. taken?

Hi,

Back from Culpeper. They have their computer back with all of its accessories.

Hunter sat through a very boring discussion of my finances with the advisor. He said he did not pay much attention and does not know what a "plop" is. He did get to spend some time playing games on my iPhone.

I feel like I accomplished something today.

But now there is the barking dog who is insisting on being let indoors. And the cat who wants to be fed.

Lolly said...

Thanks, Paula. Went searching for that update and found it. Some how missed it!

stronghunter said...

Well, "Peggy" was supposed to call me back, but she has not done so. Getting these tickets is a wicked adventure.

stronghunter said...

That's Hunter who was not paying attention. The advisor knows all about plops.

hedgie said...

1883----Lime Rickey drink was invented in DC! How about that? No wonder I like them!

Wanda....I can only set it one way. The pics were daylight. Nothing new in the dark since I set it on video. And I know the deer have been there because I've heard them running away when I let the dog out. I turned off the sensor light out there because I thought it might interfere with the cam.

hedgie said...

See that Barbara Bush, Dick and Lynn Cheney, and Clinton attended Betty Fords's funeral service today. Wonder who else (Laura, GHW)?

DanaMo said...

Hedgie-what is a cheater red velvet cake? I made re velvet for the first time the other day because it's Annemarie's favorite. She raved, but I thought it was dry.

DanaMo said...

What's the FB page for National Zoo?

hedgie said...

DanaM---they can be a little dry, true. That's why I like extra icing!! I used the Duncan Hines mix!! Not quite as dry as the homemade recipe and SO much less work!

Jack is still not home. Getting ready to leave for party, covered dish and swim party. We eat, we sit and talk and then most go home and just a few of us swim. Yes, I LOVE swimming. So, the few of us soak and visit some more.

Lolly said...

Jack is now home. He is on a steroid (pills) program and a different muscle relaxer. Let's hope this works. Also, the dentist ground the filling down a wee bit more...hope this works, too!

My Zach just called me. He does this frequently. Always an interesting conversation. I need to tell you all about my Zach. He is something else!! Anyway, Ashley has gone to Florida for the weekend, a friends 40th birthday. So, we are going over either Saturday or Friday.

Hi Eaglebuds! Just uploaded my last set of pics & the "cupboard is bare"! They did NOT upload---all that's left is the title! Will do again.
Did not get on here at all yesterday---konked out after nibbling something, work up at near midnight, nibbled some more and went to bed.
Today was dentist & then other Med phone calls to Drs., pharmacy, radiology to check on appts & RX.
Couple Drs. have retired, one moved his office & drug store Finally filled an Rx, but Blue Cross won't cover it anymore. They want $120!! No way Jose. Called that Dr. to see what else I can get or send it off, & "the office will reopen on Mon." Called the Dr. that moved, just to recheck directions & was #3 on the call wait list. After much Muzak & then finally phone ringing, no one answered!! AARRGGHH!!! More phone junk than at work!
Dentist said I did not chip molar, I lost a filling!!No wonder it was sensitive! Got good old Novocaine for filling, but wore off in a fewv hours & very sensitive! It got 1/2 of his pain pill & everybody's HABBY now! ☺

NatureNut said...

Got the last pics on, I think.
Gotta eat something.
Hope I am not insensitive to any important happenings, but need to read past comments---will do. Hope everyone is well or getting there! ☺

hedgie said...

Lolly, sure hope Jack gets relief from both pains. We already know...Zach is a man in a little boy's body. Right???!!! Poor kid needs to be around his cousins more often!

ROFL, Margy.....retirement plan and toilets=plops! Too funny.

Did you get a response from Caro?? I haven't heard from her, but see on FB that they are "cramming" for their test, and expect to head out of there around 10:30 in the AM.

Hoda, hope your paddling is going smoothly!!

Loretta....wow! How can you keep track of all those balls you were juggling today? And basically, no results! Will look at your pics.

stronghunter said...

A plop is the payment of a big chunk of your retirement in one big chunk. You get a choice of getting a big payout and a lesser amount each month as opposed to more each month. I like the idea of being in control of my own money ASAP.

magpie said...

MOON is UP !!

paula eagleholic said...

And it's gorgeous....

I had corn on the cob last night, and corn off the cob tonight!

magpie said...

and something is fidgeting in the tree

Lynn
I think our text messages crossed this morning, mine and Carolyn's -

they can open-book both parts of the test...at least we always used to be able to do that

paula eagleholic said...

Breads are out of the oven, waiting for them to cool to plop them out of the pans...

evening all....I am home, my husband is missing. I talked to him when he called at work at 5:30 and he didn't mention he was going anywhere. His wallet is here, but I haven't checked to see if his clothes still are! His truck is gone. He may be out in the back looking for tractor parts...our lawnmower cutting deck spindle grabber pulley thingy do broke. Landlord said go out back and check the junked ones to see if he can find a working thingy do. But it's pretty dark now....

magpie said...

I was getting ready for work...Lynn.
I will get another chance to address her as Punkie soon ☺
If they are leaving that early they must ALL be doing well

Lynne2 said...

Hope Jack's steroids are kicking in by now and he gets some relief.

OH here he comes! BBL

magpie said...

I can smell the breads, Paula !

Lynne, let us know WHEN Steve comes back...hope it is soon...

magpie said...

that was fast!
Ok Lynne go smother him with lovin'

magpie said...

I only fixed dinner so I could have some cookies for dessert

magpie said...

I would love to see what the birds are doing when they make that noise at the tree
re-arrranging themselves for the night time perch I guess

Costume Lady said...

Mmmm...I smell zucchini bread! GG always made that when the squash came on in the garden. She can't bake anymore. I will have to see if I can find her recipe and help her make it...could be fun:)
Paula, never tried it with cream cheese, sounds yummy!

Yes, I agree, that is a cute photo of Jayden that I have for my avatar. Note the TIGER on his boogie board?:) I haven't seen him in 3 weeks, I think, and miss him so much (miss my girls too).

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda, toast the zucchini bread and then put on the cream cheese...even better!

stronghunter said...

Oh my, zucchini bread with cream cheese. Yummy.

stronghunter said...

I swear I smell zucchini bread, too!

stronghunter said...

Good grief, what a day you had, Loretta.

magpie said...

I used to make a date and nut bread long time ago, and it was great with cream cheese
cream cheese is great with many things, and with Nothing! by the spatula-full I say ☺

Wanda:
Of Course I noticed that Tiger on the Boogie Board! I think the Captain really bought that FOR YOU and then Jayden sweet-babbled it away from you

magpie said...

oh dear the SPLIT is fast approaching

I am trying to bribe both the Sandman AND the Night Bandit with oatmeal cookies...it's not working too well !

hedgie said...

You all may have my share of zucchini bread. UGH! I would think that cream cheese would tear it to pieces---toasting would help. Carolyn makes it all the time...they all love it. She takes after her dad.
Now, Margy's oatmeal cookies....that's another story! Mmmm-mmmm good!

stronghunter said...

Glad that Steve is back, Lynne.

Hope Jack is feeling better, Lolly.

Love your avatar, Wanda. Jayden is a real cutie.

hedgie said...

Oh, yuck....cream cheese by the spatula-full? Hope it's flavored somehow!
Had to laugh---a few years ago Carolyn called and asked me how to tell if sour cream was bad....I asked why, and she said Charlie says it tastes sour....well, DUH!!!!

Kay said...

PAULA, zuke bread makes great and healthy breakfast toast. Hmmmmmm.

LORI, didn't you mean Dr. Doolittle as in talking to the animals ?

LORETTA, how frustrating it is to hang on the line the way you had to. I hate the Muzak stuff ! Used to have to go in a building in Tucson where, ♫♪The halls were alive with the sound of Muzak.♪♪♫ Ugh !

WANDA, sweet smile on Jayden's adorable face ! He likes his Tiger !

MARGY, didja share your shank n' corn with Tom Sweetie ?

LYNNE n' LOLLY, glad your hubbies returned to their roosts.

SHIRLEY, a plop sounds good to me !

stronghunter said...

Plop is good when you can put it into a tax sheltered annuity. Would not want the tax man to grab too much of it.

paula eagleholic said...

Got the last 2 loaves for tonight in the oven.

Oh Margy, yes I am beach bound this weekend. My younger brother, Phil (the plumber) and his family are coming down for the day on Saturday. I have a leak under the new kitchen sink, so he has to redo the line. What a nice bro ♥

stronghunter said...
