Good morning Sissy!

Dana, thanks for all of the kind words. I appreciate them.

Judie, I hope your day at school goes well.

Andy, I do hope you get some cooler weather and relief from the itches. It is frustrating when you can't see a doctor when you really need to. Are there emergency centers around you?

Must go.

Good Tuesday a.m. everyone

Good Morning, Sissy, Shirley, and Helen!

Managed to get here a bit earlier today. It's really quiet at the nest--is that a still picture? Don't see any leaves moving at all. Oh, wait--there's one little sycamore leaf moving.

Hope you are all having a good morning so far! Watched the weather report on the early news, and it looks like it's cooled off nicely back there. I'd appreciate it if you'd send somma dat over here! I'm hoping it'll be a little cooler here today. Should be daylight in a little over a half hour, and I'll be able to tell better.

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone!
Well, managed to make a last new batch of hummer food last night and get it out!One came immediately---they are stoking up for migration. Then I went in loungechair to wait for show I wanted to see at 9 and that's all she wrote----my Panda nap was all night!!
Since we've been seeing Lib & Belle at nest, thought I'd really check nest area here at Park, but nobody. To early I think for ours--usually Dec. And think osprey cam is on the fritz--have to get outside and take a look.
Happy Day to all....☺

Ms Bookworm said...

Good Morning, Loretta!
Aren't those hummers fun to watch, though?! We have quite a few of them this year, and they always let me know when the feeder is running low. They either hover in my face while I'm filling the seed feeders, or they come to the patio door and look for me. It's surprising that the Rufous hummers haven't migrated yet--maybe they'll stay longer since there's lots to eat here. The Anna's male is hoping they'll move on soon.
Boy, the Oriole feeder sure is a big hit with the Hooded Orioles! Hope I can get a good picture to share.

Ms Bookworm said...

See that Margy has a court appearance today; hope that goes well.

NatureNut said...

Hi Andrea, I've been sitting out on my deck w/camera, and hummers have come and almost hovered in front of my face, but I didn't want to move camera and scare them, so never got a close up pic!
This AM at Park, they are still zipping around. We have just the ruby-throateds, but my daughter in TX has them and once saw the violet-ear, a couple beryllines who she can hear, if not see! And just saw a first buff-belly. I'll have to go there in summer!!!!

paula eagleholic said...

Morning, all!

Another pretty day! Hope everyone has a good one!

hedgie said...

Wow, Momsters and Dadsters, quiet on here this am! Must be too cold to type....47 when I got up at 8....brrrr....this is ridiculous! Heard that it was 37 in Bedford, PA.....hey, Diann and grannyblt, how 'bout up your way??
Margy, hope you don't have to sit all day to get called----hopefully, first on list and outta there!
All of your prayers and wishes have helped...I feel much better today, at least so far! Thank you!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good morning everybody!

grannyblt said...

Morning all

Cool here in western PA, but not that cold. I was outside helping elderly dog up the steps in street clothes and wasn't shivering. Will be a beautiful day here.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

It is 63° in Bluefield.

hedgie said...

Learned from obits this am that next-door neighbor when I was a teen (who grew up here) passed away, so trying to get word out to others who have also moved, so having to do some searching.
Also have to find addresses for the kids to send condolences. Can't seem to find an online access port for the funeral home, and services are apparently going to be delayed. The daughter is a professor at a SC college, so imagine she has classes starting, and the son lives in OK.

09/01/09:
Braveheart recently had some company on the nest although she didn't tolerate them long.

they were black birds:)

I do believe it is a slow morning on here. Did not get on yesterday evening....I was in a bit of a funk. It has been a hard week, missing my Mommy. Three years ago this week she died. We lived in our little trailer for six weeks, and my sister and her husband next door in the RV park in their RV. Along with my brother and his wife who live in McAllen, we were with her day and night, with the help of hospice care. It was six weeks of misery. I HATE August and so glad that Sept. is here. Going to try to shake the funk and get busy.

Going to keep Gus this afternoon. Will enjoy it but dread seeing his mother. How can I politely tell her to shut up? I do not want her to talk about her trials and tribulations. I think she lies and I think her husband lies. Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! This may be part of my funk!

Weather not as cool here, but it is beautiful. Was 70 when we got up, 74 presently. Just beautiful!

Gotta go eat a bite and then exercise. BBL

Thank you for letting me sound off! Have a great day! Armadillo did not dig last night...good start to a day! LOL

The sun is barely up around here, and the temp has already shot up to 75°. That's nothing though, the top is predicted to be 93°...with high humidity.

I think there's a hurricane nearing Baja California, so maybe it's related to that. Sometimes we get rain, even in summer, out of tropical storms in that area. We'll see.

Lolly, dear girl, hope you feel (((hugs))) coming at you. Memories are always good and bad, and the bad ones are hard to shake, but just remember all the good times you had with your mom.
Your weather sounds perfect, as does Mits's!! Imagine that Ceil and MM are on their way!

Just finished exercising. Gee, I'm virtuous! LOL Now I have to cool off and then get beautiful. Need to run to the grocery store before I get my young charge this afternoon.

Lolly said...

Oh, thanks, Lynn. Felt your hug! Thanks, I needed that.

Lolly said...

Diego is all alone. Saw Mom get up and leave. Such a cutie!

hedgie said...

Jim, heard the forecasters saying that some of that hurricane precip MIGHT make it up your way---that owuld be a blessing for the fire situation.
Baltimore gang made good time---early start and of course less traffic now that school is in! Have fun, y'all!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, gang, I'm back. Sorry about that--the phone rang, and then I got side-tracked. Got the yard all swept for the gardeners (I sweep all the seed hulls up before they show up so I don't have corn or millet or something else coming up in the middle of my lawn!). While I was at it, got the kitchen cleaned and the dishwasher started. The sun is finally burning through here, and it's humid as all get-out. Must be that tropical hurricane near Baja. Hope we get some rain from it to relieve the humidity and clean the air!

hedgie said...

Just went out to water flowers and couldn't see mama wren in nest in impatiens basket....got within 2 ft. of it and out she came....if I could translate everything she had to say, I'm sure I'm on my way to hell right now!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hope what I said about the bird seed hulls made sense. The gardeners use blowers to excess, so if there's a bunch of bird seed or seed hulls on the patio, it ends up in the middle of the grass!
Loretta, isn't it fun to sit and watch those hummers? SO much personality in such a teeny tiny body! They really are characters!

Lynn, so glad you're feeling better today! Really sorry to hear about your friend that passed away. Lots of hugs coming your way!

Wish I had some of that really cool overnight weather here! Only got down to 70 here last night, and it was still 80 in my kitchen when I got up. Sure hope this weather changes for the better really soon!

Hi, Sharon, Paula, Grannyblt, Helen, and Lolly, hope the day goes well for all of you. Lolly, sending hugs your way too--know what you mean about certain times of the year. Helps me if I stay really busy, so I think you're on the right track. Give little Gus an extra hug for me, OK? Maybe if you tell his mom that you're already feeling a bit blue, and want to keep the conversation on a positive note, she'll get the hint.

Good Morning, Jim,
Hope you have a good day today, too. Looks like we're in for steamy weather for sure. Maybe I'll go to the library to study today. They've got A/C, which is a big relief. A tropical rainstorm wouldn't hurt, either.

Ms Bookworm said...

Oops! Hi, Mema Jo, I'm reading back to catch up too; didn't mean to ignore you! Hope you and your daughter have a nice visit.
Gosh, it's looking kinda breezy at the nest. Has anyone seen our eagles today? Guess I really should go and read further back. No time right at the moment, though. Have to study for a quiz in Pharmacology tomorrow night. Still have some notes to type up as a Word document so I can hopefully read them later to study for the mid-term. My handwriting is not as good as it should be when I have to write very quickly! Will be back in a little while... :o]

carolinabeachmom said...

Yeah! Kids are out and I am headed home! Lolly, prayers for you and your funk. I know how you feel. My mom and I were best friends and when I lost her, it was awful. Then I had to listen to my father wish he could die too, and 5 years later he got his wish. Then there was surely an emptiness. You need to remember the good times you had together. It might help a little.

carolinabeachmom said...

Jo Hope you had a nice visit with your daughter. I can't wait until Josh can come home on leave. I miss him so much. He passed the PT test for Airborne at Benning, so he'll spend another 3 weeks there and then on to Ft. Bragg. 4 of his friends didn't make it. I just keep hoping that he goes to OCS soon.

carolinabeachmom said...

Mits is at OC and poor Jim is out there with the fires of California swirling around him. I hope they aren't too close JIM and maybe this storm headed for the Baja Pen. will put it out.

carolinabeachmom said...

Well I have to head home for now. You all have a good rest of the day. Later gator from the Outer Banks of N. Carolina

hedgie said...

LOL...Andy, I understood your explanation, but had to laugh....made it sound like I would be if I had a housekeeper---clean before they came!
Thanks for kind thoughts....the gentleman who passed was our next door neighbor when I was a teen, so his kids were my peers. Of course, he and mom were neighbors until she moved in '89. He had just left the ol' community earlier this year.

Good afternoon to my friends of fine feathers and fur!!

I am so excited. Train is going to be in Charlotte in November! I have to go!!!

Costume Lady said...

Hi, Sharon...I have not heard of Train. I know only of him from you. Enlighten me a little?
What kinds of songs does he or they sing and where do they perform?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

They are an alternative rock band. You might remember "Meet Virginia", "Drops of Jupiter" or "Calling All Angels"?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

They write their own stuff, really good lyrics, thought provoking stuff.

stronghunter said...

Hi, looks like my comment got lost. I will have to write another one later. Going to take off for a little while.

stronghunter said...

Back-to-School Night tonight; will not be leaving for home until 8:30.

Lolly said...

Have Gus now. He is going through the toys like nobody's business. LOL He came running to the door and jumped into my arms. He is a sweet boy!

His mother looks awful. She has lost even more weight....you can see her skeleton and you should have seen how she was dressed, a denim skirt and then a silky top, the kind that looks like a fitted camisole. She has had a boob job, so here is this scantily clad skeleton with huge boobs. Ok, I know, I am being judgemental. Forgive me!

Lynn, I can just see you being scolded by Momma Wren! No telling what she told you. For shame!

Time for us to start using our powerful prayers for the fires in California. That is so awful!

Hello Dear Eagle Friends

Couldn't visit sooner, had to be at court, and wait to be called.
It's over now...just had to verify that a document was a true document, for a local murder trial.

Also spending time in mourning for a dear family friend and local attorney who died suddenly Sunday, so been corresponding with family and preparing a tribute. Young, 58 years of age, so accomplished and genuine. May his spirit of goodness continue to visit his family and friends often.

Now, to work for 12 hours. Going to be drinking a lot of coffee this shift! Then, final touches on my brother's birthday project and out the door it goes, come on USPS, get it there by Saturday!

I am sorry that I cannot read backwards at all and comment on all the posts for today...did see that Sissy saw an eagle this morning! That's about as far as I got.

So, So long for the evening, and best wishes for a magical evening with some special things in your Inboxes...

xo ☺ ♥

paula eagleholic said...

Sharon - I like Train too. Who's pic is on your avatar?

Lolly - have fun with Gus. Guess the skeleton with big boobs looks pretty funny.

Mema Jo said...

I've never seen a skeleton with
big boobs! I hope you're enjoying Gus'
visit - and I bet he is! You are like a ray of sunshine in that little guy's life! Believe me when I say he will grow up and be able to conquer any obstacle in his path!

Costume Lady said...

Ah, yes, Sharon...I have heard CALLING ALL ANGELS. It's so special to be able to see, in concert, an artist that you like so well. Good Luck getting tickets:)

Mema Jo said...

Margy - take care & I wish you could take a panda nap before those 12 hrs.
Doesn't your court time count as work hours? Bummer if it doesn't !

Your brother is going to be so overwhelmed with your gift - gift of love I call it.

Costume Lady said...

LOLLY, just love that little Gus and much as you can when you have him and he will never forget Miss Lolly and you will be rewarded someday in ways that you can't even imagine right now! Just remember that the Skinny Boob-Job Girl does not have your good sense and taste and over-look her:)

Judie said...

Hello everyone,

Whew! What a day! Tired now.

Haven't read carefully but hope Lolly had a nice time with Gus -- agree that telling his mother you prefer to have positive conversations is making the point in a polite way.

Andrea, study hard for tomorrow night.

Margie, sending wings for USPS. Hope your brother will enjoy. Also sorry about the death of your friend -- prayers for you and his family.

Lynn, also sorry for your former neighbor's death but happy you are feeling better.

Lolly, you are making me feel really bad with all your exercising -- please do an extra 60seconds for me.

Shirley, hope back to school night went well.

I've probably forgotten many and I apologize.

Best part of my day -- a hug from a 7' tall basketball player. I hugged his knees and he hugged the air above my 5' high head. Big laughs all around. Both classes went well, I think. Many familiar faces in the crime class. Just need to get back into the two performances a day two days a week routine. Cutting into my Food Network time.

Okay, off to search the frig.

Judie

magpie said...

Thanks Jo ....it's time for all the stickers and final tuck-ins now. I have figured out all the different ways to "write" the number 70 - had to scratch the gray matter to come up with "L" as the roman numeral! And I have to count up all the months, days, hours and seconds. Started that while waiting to be called for court. I get some relief on hours, but mostly got off at midnight last night so I could get some night-time sleep in. Then tomorrow at 0600 I am off for a couple of days.

God Bless You, All, which is another way of saying God Bless Us, Every One...

and PS Megan.. if not already posted, we will need the Full Moon Name for this month very soon ! And you all check for ISS and Discovery in the pre-sunrise skies Wednesday
xo ☺ ♥

hedgie said...

Hope you have an easy shift, Margy. Hugs for all the heartache.
Lolly, that is quite a pic to imagine...poor Gus. Thanks goodness he has a good woman like you in his life.
Candy, good to hear from you.
Andrea, don't fry your brain studying...the weather is already trying!
Sharon...I like Calling All Angels, for sure! Just don't forget that you have a previous committment for the 17th!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Lynn, the concert is in November and I certainly remember my October 17 commitment! And I remember that I will be one year with no smoking on that same day! (Hopefully!)

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Oh, and Paula, that is Pat Monahan, lead singer of Train.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I am heading out for a walk and then a meeting. Will check back in later.

paula eagleholic said...

Gotcha, Sharon.

Catch ya'll later...lawn girl night tonight...

Mema Jo said...

I bet the OC crew is out eating crabs!

Sharon you will make it for No Smokes for a Year! I just know you will !!

Where's Deb - did I miss her at lunch. I guess with those hours she has a dinner break NOT a lunch break! Might just hear from her shortly.
My Jennifer works those type of hours but she has more of her morning free.

Wanda - are you still harvesting tomatoes? Melissa gave me some from her garden.

hedgie said...

Just heard back from the daughter of our old neighbor who passed. Luckily, did find email addresses for both kids due to them both being college/university professors. She is my sisters' age, and the son is one yr. younger than me, if I remember correctly....need to get out the yearbook!
