dID you follow the link on BWO?? One of the Osprey mothers has begun her migration southward to West Africa.
On the tracking site for the Loch Garten eyasses, they show an updated satellite map with the migrating juvey nearing Bordeaux on the coast of France.
When they wrote that blog entry, EJ, their female had not started her migration yet. She is already later than females from that area have left historically; last year she left on the 14th.
I saw Koo had left the nest for an extended period before going to bed 5-6 hours ago, but she's back now ... just looked and all fledglings and Mom are in the nest sharing a fish.
Speaking of fish, has anyone seen signs that Koo has learned to catch them yet??
I have been watching & worrying about FINLAND'S KOO!---I showed a pic to my friend--(bird watcher--BIG TIME) & she almost scolded me---said I am letting myself get too involved with KOO----We can't change nature---& I shouldn't want to do that--???
Good Morning All - thankful to see you all here! I just had my newspaper, cup of coffee and banana with peanut butter. Also took all my am meds, so I am ready to start my day! I was wondering when the tropical storms were going to start up! Full nest at Finney. I tell myself I'm not watching anymore but then right there I am checking on Koo!
Dana, that is horrible! Tell Dr. HE can pay for it if he doesn't change it!!!! LOL---right! Jim, Chrissy says that weather is fowl and EJ probably won't begin journey until Monday. Think Koo just took off a couple of minutes ago---did not see her getting any of the food. Jim, we haven't noticed evidence of her catching anything herself. Hi, Jo! Banana and PB---yummy!
No, Hedgie, I don't think Koo did get any of the latest fish. Mom was feeding the two closest ones, and then, when I wasn't looking, the middle fledgling grabbed the remainder of the meal and finished it.
Leg cramps will wake you up quicker then anything I know (except a late night wrong number phone call) I usually do the same, Jim Stand up and massage !
HEDGIE---Found my "PEOPLE'S PHARMACY" book!---Lists the recipe for 'RAISINS & GIN'!---------Empty one box of golden light raisins into a large shallow container. Completely cover the raisins with gin. Let stand uncovered, until the gin evaporates. Store them in a closed container & eat nine raisins daily----
LISTED FOR USE AGAINST ARTHRITIS--- by LOIS LOEHRKE OF St. Lucas Lutheran Church.........after a mo or so----they began to feel much better & began to play tennis again, etc
MORNIN' JIM & MEMA JO!---take spoonful of mustard---cramp disappears right away!----(or I will refund your price of the mustard)----We folks in WV are tough!---ho!---

Well, after dissing the O's and Nat's, I get to the sports page and find they both won last night! Go Teams!!!!
I've suffered from leg cramps sometimes, but I don't know a really effective way to combat them.
Lack of salt in your diet can be one cause, so if your limiting salt as I am, make sure you are getting some at least.
When I was a teenager I would get them every night in winter, and when we switched to flannel sheets, the frequency dropped noticeably.
Nowdays, I try to stand on that foot and stretch it out as I rub the muscle ... jeez I hate those things!
