How cool is this....this week is 911 Dispatchers recognition week! Congratulations, Margy, and thank you for all YOU and your fellow dispatchers do for our cities, counties, states and country!
Just checking in before shutting down here at work! They have as much rain as we do. Heard there may be rain next Mon., Tu, & Wed. Hope they're wrong! Won't affect Park programs, tho--everything pretty much under cover. May have an indoor picnic! ☺
"Margy you are an awesome dispatcher plus a great person. I know I've heard the fire fighters say, "She has our back", "If you want anyone to be on dispatch when things go haywire it is Margy". Gal you are truly truly appreciated by them. I want to say THANK YOU FOR A JOB OVER AND BEYOND WELL DONE!! Thank you Margy. ( :
Feature on the news about the cutest robotic seal named Paro that is having very successful use with elderly people w/ varying mental conditions....just adorable, and so heartwarming watching the interactions...ONLY costs $5,000+....how many shall I order???
Lynn order one for me for sure....I need that kind of interaction lol p.s. see I didn't say anything about paying either tee hee see I fit the profile for Paro lol
Hey, Mits! Glad you stopped in to say hi. How's everything out there? Jo filled in for you on the weather report, but we still miss YOU! Evening, Sara.
Sara.... - You are a born Momster - - - just takes a few days to get used to us, huh...sure Mits appreciated the well wishes!
Hey Thanks Hedgie and Dana and the rest of you folks for the encouragement regarding my job... 21 years this month...It is a blessed opportunity, to try to help keep the providers "out in the field" protected.
Sara, the still cam is on the NCTC home page...or do you mean you had it open on your screen? If so, you have to open it in a new window...right click on link ansd chhose open in new tab. Then you can keep both sites on your desktop.
I must have missed a turnaround at Portland Hawk nest, now Momma is facing the other way....
Hedgie - I got to the store, mailed two big birthday packages to sister in Massachusetts, took a nap, did some reading, and I am beating back a cold(maybe ?)with Vitamin C, Zinc, and lots of juice - catching up on emails and cams now.
Just don't chew your lip, Sara, like I did a couple of weeks ago!! Margy, sure hope you beat that cold...get some Zicam! We gotta have you well for Tues.!!!
Sara... - As long as your computer still lets you see Live or Still, and our Posts....nothing else matters much at the moment. N'est ce pa? That's mangled French I think for, Agree? We can't see you spilling your drinks ☺
Glad you're doing well, Jo! Why the CT? Margy, you don't have to hide from us...by then you shouldn't be infectious....and if you wore a mask we wouldn't get to see your loverly face!
That was Margy playing Frenchie, Dana, not me! No "hidey" your face, Jo! It's loverly, too! Hope you can get off the 'sone soon! Sofa time for Jeopardy. TTFN.
Hi Dana... - I might be the first to admit, that I cannot keep up with all the egg-laying and hatching news! I do believe that Deb posted that a second Red-Tailed Hawk hatched at Portland!
My brain gets numb from all the news...
Thanks for the well-wishes, I am generally pretty lucky if I hit the cold symptoms early!
Hidey is Slam Wore Out ! I feel the same way after a Big Meal ! ☺ xox TTFN xoxo
MARGY, is our 911 QUEEN...thank you, sweet girl for all you do for us!Now, if you still have a cold next Tuesday, we will put you back in the bedroom. LOL Sara, I had the same problem with my mouth about a month ago. I had some fillings re-placed with white filling on both sides of my mouth and I was numb all day and into the night...bit my mout badly two times! Dum, dum! Jo, glad your test went well today.
To all of you Momsters going on our Field Trip Tuesday, it does call for rain, but on the warm side. We are going, regardless. Loretta said the boat is covered and of course the bus is enclosed. We have umbrellas in the Eagle Express and we will all survive because WE ARE SURVIVORS!! Tuesday is 6 days away...weather could change.
I am gathering you are going to the nest for a visit....all I can ask for is please send pictures.
I haven't had a cavity for 15 years, they even checked the records. Guess it came from cough drops this year. Always use sugar free is all I heard today. This to will pass...
Dana Have you in my wellness prayers...remember, last year there was a Nest Visit in June, set your sights on that ! Oh yes, Sara, we do take pictures! Not to worry!
Sara, they are going to the park where Loretta works. Her blog name is Naturenut and her park is in Maryland. She has pictures on her site of the park.
The Eagle Express is a motorhome that Wanda and her husband, Gene, have.
Sara, we are going to the PATUXENT RIVER PARK, where our NATURENUT (LORETTA) works. It is located in Upper Marlboro, Md. We will, most likley, be taking a trip to the nest in June. We would love to have you join us!
I have my Grandson for the rest of the week, (he is on Spring Break) so, I am not on here for long...in fact, it is past 8pm, which is his time to take over the mouse. See you later...
BTW, I have posted a photo of Dustin and Gene together and you can see how tall he has become. His Mom can't find pants to fit his skinny waste and loooong legs:( Posted on Just for Fun.
Hope you have a great time on your trip. Enjoy the day and maybe the weather will be in your favor. I'll keep June in mind and see what's happening then.
I have one more question about the still cam... is there any other way to capture pictures besides saving from that camera? I told you this was all new to me so don't kick me off for asking too may questions.
Paula can help you out with that one, Sara. I am on a Mac, so what I use doesn't work on PC's. She uses a free program, but I can't remember what it is called. I will have to pay more attention to her answer.
Wanda, loved the picture of Dustin and Gene. How old is he? One of these days all three of our grandsons are going to tower over us and I imagine that will happen sooner than we want. Joseph and Jaocb's dad is 6'6" and Laurel is 5'11". They are heads taller than children their own age. Michael is only 6', but so far Zach is keeping up with his cousins.
Paula, yes, we are heading to OK to hunt for the eagles nest. Actually they sent me directions to the nest. Can not go on the field trip with you....I will just take my own fieldtrip. LOL We plan to leave Saturday, but it depends on the weather. We will probably just be gone a few days. I have some new grass that needs to be kept watered.
I emailed two screen grab photos from before dark, to Steve, showing each side of Belle's beak, and see if he can tell us anything or have a better look from his location.
Hedgie: No I certainly DID NOT know that! Thanks, that's a Fun Fact ☺
Hello all Evening Eagle Pals....Lolly, Paula...Hedgie...and others...
Yep, Paula. I've got one old TV in the basement that has no hookups except the coax in...and VCR there has died. Bought a new one (like yours) and no way to hook it up. Returned it.....guess I'll move the one from LR down there and then get another new one for upstairs. Such a pain!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... Belle has decided to go back to sleep...Hidey is squirming around underneath her. It is very foggy this morning and only 30°. I think our rain has ended for the rest of the week. Hidey will like that forecast...he is not a "dance in the rain type":)
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!----MORNIN' MAGPIE!!---We have a FOGGY am here too!---One can't see across the lawn!!---I did see something wiggling out from under BELLE!---WHOA!--He is one COOL EAGLET!---as is our #1 EAGLE MOM---MAGPIE--today & every day!!---
CONGRATS!!---HH OSPREY MOM!---#2 EAGLET hatched today!!---I don't see the RED that was in her nest!!! Can't wait to see the little ones!!----LIFE IS GOOD!!---
Good Morning, Norma. I'm glad I don't have to drive in this fog this morning, it is really dense. I don't think I have every seen Belle asleep this time of the morning. She is probably exhausted from trying to keep Hidey warm and dry the past couple of days:)
GOOD MORNIN' SISSY!---What's happening in BLUEFIELD?---I am behind since going to work out!!---Isn't our EAGLET the GREATEST!!---won't be long he will be as large as LIB!---ho!
He is getting big, ain't he? He was out in the weather this morning. When I first got up, it was pouring down rain at the nest and Lib was on the edge of the nest, not over Hidey! He was getting soaked to the bone!
Me and Sharon went down there for the candlelight vigil after that happened. Our niece and nephew were on the campus that day!! It was just a horrible thing. VT is only an hour from here, have alot of family that goes there and works there!! But, I am still a Mountaineer!!!
Good foggy morning, fowl friends. Sure is hard to see here...miracle that we don't have ICE as it's only 30. Several deer out back...but can't make out detail...just the movement caught my eye. Bless all Hokies on this sad anniversary.
Good morning all Y'all. Good to see everyone is still doing great...and gosh Norma has an avatar. I just don't know what it is. I'm doing well. Still on oxygen. I lurk a bit and still follow BRS. Will soon be looking for a house in Huntsville. Mrs Red is getting tired of driving there every day and this place is getting to much for me to handle. MTBR. Take care everyone.
MORNIN' HEDGIE & RED!!!! ---WHOA! RED---You are probably the only one that doesn't recognize the WEST VIRGINIA STATE FLAG!!----KIDDIN'----Even I can't read the 'MOUNTAINEERS ARE ALWAYS FREE' slogan!!---How far away is HUNTSVILLE?---
I'm so sorry I didn't recognize the WV flag. Blushing! Maybe if I could have read the words I would have figured it out. Norma, Huntsville is 18 miles away. Gets old driving it every day.
Wow, just got the papers and yesterdays' mail and got a nice card from Helen's son and family re: the Polar Plunge. Great pic of Mits and Molly!! Will bring it next week to show on the field trip! Molly's a jewel!
DANA!----You are a fountain of knowledge!!----I didn't know about the number of EGGS---SO INTERESTING!!----I have class today--but will be here tomorrow! Pray you are feeling better!!
REd, to me that sounds so sad. I know how much you love your place and all. 18 mile drive is nothing around here...do that whenever I need to go almost anyplace!! But can thorougholy understand not being able to keep up your place...I look out now and know that I have to get out and start cleaning up the winter debris...but just bending over to pick up sticks is hard on me...and weather neeeds to be just right....warm w/o humidity and no wind....argh!!!! Prayers are with you.
Norma maybe someone else will but I thought they found it and just brought it to their nest. I do remember after the storm took it out. A lady that visits there was on here and said she was going to leave something red or purple. If she did they never put it in their nest.

Dinner time our nest.
Back on other thread I mentioned about male and female Osprey names at HH.
Here I'll mention they are callinig the chick "GJ".
I thought it looked like dried blood on Belle's beak, Dana. Hadn't thought about the crash the other day...
She has it on both side of her beak now....not affecting her ability to tear fish or squirrel apart!
Thanks, Dana.
If it was blood on her beak, you would think all this rain would have washed it off!!!
BTW, uploaded 3 videos today to youtube...will put links later on EM blog...
I don't think I have ever seen our eagles look so rough!
Now the left side of her beak looks pretty clean
And yes, I still see that mark on the right side....there was more on there earlier today, rain must have cleaned it off.
Maybe she got a puncture wound on her beak from that crash.
She about hit Hidey in the head with that stick, then he grabbed it!
Wow- soggy eagles..they have a little break, then there is another batch of heavy showers heading at us.
OMG, Belle, who did your hair?
How cool is this....this week is 911 Dispatchers recognition week! Congratulations, Margy, and thank you for all YOU and your fellow dispatchers do for our cities, counties, states and country!

Sara.... - You are a born Momster - - - just takes a few days to get used to us, huh...sure Mits appreciated the well wishes!
Hey Thanks Hedgie and Dana and the rest of you folks for the encouragement regarding my job...

It's really nice to punch in on the comments and see what has been happenin'
Like Sunny says, you all take good Class Notes !

Hope it's a good evening for everyone
xo
I love the sound of the Red-
Tailed Hawk....would be awesome if that cam had sound!
Has taken a few days for me to figure out how to use this site.
I enjoying reading all the comments and everyone has provided me with info that I didn't know.
OK....just a few minutes ago I found the still camera and now I can't it...where did it hide? :)
Sara, the still cam is on the NCTC home page...or do you mean you had it open on your screen? If so, you have to open it in a new window...right click on link ansd chhose open in new tab. Then you can keep both sites on your desktop.
What did you get into on this rainy day, Margy?? HOPE you got caught up on sleep!
I'm just not having a good computer day. I had to go to the dentist this morning and I think my brain is still numb.
Poor Sara (: I know what that's like! Hate doing that more than anything.
☺
My appt was at 8 this morning and at 3 this afternoon my lip still felt numb. I spilled everything I tried to drink.
The live feed was here originally, too. It was moved to allow us to view it better!
http://www.fws.gov/nctc/cam/
Just don't chew your lip, Sara, like I did a couple of weeks ago!!
Margy, sure hope you beat that cold...get some Zicam! We gotta have you well for Tues.!!!

Well I passed my breathing test - lol
Go back in 6 weeks for CT of lung.. At least I didn't get worst if in fact a little better!
Look at that growing Hidey standing up by the adult! Whoo Hoo!
Hidey really standing on those feetsies again
Big shake by Belle!
My, oh, my...temp is down to 42 already...it will certainly be in the 30's tonight...argh!
What a shake off by the adult in our nest!
Sorry I missed saying HI to Helen
Great pic right now!
Well that does look like a puncture on her upper beak.
I just took a screen grab, maybe we should ask Steve about it? I can send him a pic...what do you think, Paula ?
Time for some fish!
Go for it Margy
I was thinking the same thing about the beak. Don't look too good!
Gotta feed doggies and grab some grub....BBIALW
Food fight....
Glad you're doing well, Jo! Why the CT?
Margy, you don't have to hide from us...by then you shouldn't be infectious....and if you wore a mask we wouldn't get to see your loverly face!
I'll wear the mask to hide my face!! lol
CT is done regularly each 2-3 months to keep a check on things. DR is trying to see them clear up enough to get me off of the predinsone drug.
One good thing that I think Paula already mentioned - is that Belle sure can use that beak with no apparent disability! Crunch Crunch Munch...

Sara I didn't see you spill a thing. ( :
Margy hope you feel better soon.
Lynn you speak'a french or is that from eating french toast? lol

Have you in my wellness prayers...remember, last year there was a Nest Visit in June, set your sights on that !
Oh yes, Sara, we do take pictures!
Not to worry!
Sara, they are going to the park where Loretta works. Her blog name is Naturenut and her park is in Maryland. She has pictures on her site of the park.

Wow! That was cool....shaking the rain off the wings
I was just "talking" with Suzanne this morning about HER trip to PWP last year for the Osprey banding...
BTW, I have posted a photo of Dustin and Gene together and you can see how tall he has become. His Mom can't find pants to fit his skinny waste and loooong legs:(
Posted on Just for Fun.
We're giving you a Crash Course, Sara on all things important ! ☺
Lucky Dustin! A week in West Virginia with the Captain and First Mate ♥
Back in awhile...
Paula can help you out with that one, Sara. I am on a Mac, so what I use doesn't work on PC's. She uses a free program, but I can't remember what it is called. I will have to pay more attention to her answer.
I am off to watch TV also, I'll check in if I don't find anything to watch.
I will be checking back in and if not I'll ask Paula tomorrow.
Margy, did you know that the crow that is named Magpie was truly named after a lady named Margaret???
Wanda, loved the picture of Dustin and Gene. How old is he? One of these days all three of our grandsons are going to tower over us and I imagine that will happen sooner than we want. Joseph and Jaocb's dad is 6'6" and Laurel is
5'11". They are heads taller than children their own age. Michael is only 6', but so far Zach is keeping up with his cousins.
YAY! Got my new DVD/VCR hooked up...yup still have Tapes...old VCR was kaput too, so got the combo...
Belle looks really huge in the nest....Hidey all covered up!
Beautiful, baby alone and both parents on the rail...at Oklahoma
Dud egg visible at Oklahoma, parent on nest with baby, other parent on the perch
OK, Paula....tell me do....does your new one have screw on in and out for cable/antennae connection? If so...where did you find it?????

Paula, yes, we are heading to OK to hunt for the eagles nest. Actually they sent me directions to the nest. Can not go on the field trip with you....I will just take my own fieldtrip. Thanks, that's a Fun Fact ☺
Hello all Evening Eagle Pals....Lolly, Paula...Hedgie...and others...
No Hedgie, it doesn't! Had to get out the dish book and figure it out....don't know if it will record on the VCR, but it does play DVD and VCR.
Oh my gosh and behind that TV was dusty dusty dusty
Hedgie...just took the cable screw-on (coax)connection on from Dish receiver right to TV....then did those plug thingys from TV to VCR/DVD
Previously the coax/screw in connection went from Satelite to VCR to TV
Some are free....some are free to try (limited use or time)
These are live feed capture programs for pics...
Snagit
Fraps
FastStone Capture
You can also google 'screen capture program' I'm know there's more out there!
What was that?!!!!!!
Wow just sounded like a police siren...one whoooop
Yep, Paula. I've got one old TV in the basement that has no hookups except the coax in...and VCR there has died. Bought a new one (like yours) and no way to hook it up. Returned it.....guess I'll move the one from LR down there and then get another new one for upstairs. Such a pain!
Hegdie - I almost returned it too...till I thought about it, and figured they were all like that now!
The two TH chicklets are really getting big!
Wonder if the eagles tuck their head back like that when they roost in a tree for the night?
Our Hidey is coming out from under mom!
Hidey is really starting to use those legs!
Amazing that Belle sleeps through Hidey's wiggling around.
Belle sleeps with one eagle eye open:)
Lolly, Dustin is 14 yrs. old. He will grow some more before he's 18. Wish he could gain some weight.
He will gain weight as he matures. Our Joseph is skin and bones. He will be the same way as Dustin. What is amazing is he eats so much!!!
Almost forgot to put the youtube videos on the EM blog...they are there now...

Good Morning in Eagleland Margy, Wanda, Sissy, Norma, Lynn and those watching.

xoxo Had enough of figuring out camera stuff for awhile, I need to GET OUT in the Fresh Air...
TTFN - You all have a good day..xox ☺
REd, to me that sounds so sad. I know how much you love your place and all. 18 mile drive is nothing around here...do that whenever I need to go almost anyplace!! But can thorougholy understand not being able to keep up your place...I look out now and know that I have to get out and start cleaning up the winter debris...but just bending over to pick up sticks is hard on me...and weather neeeds to be just right....warm w/o humidity and no wind....argh!!!! Prayers are with you.
Wow - the kids are outside too having a good squealy time !
Red you are in prayers. Red why your drive everyday?
Norma I won't be here tomorrow AM lol. Maybe can be in afternoon ok.
I think Hidey is watching and listening to the brats at day care! :) ☺☺☺
Norma maybe someone else will but I thought they found it and just brought it to their nest. I do remember after the storm took it out. A lady that visits there was on here and said she was going to leave something red or purple. If she did they never put it in their nest.
Good News New Thread ..
go on over !
I wasn't thinking MARGY!---Have been rushing to get ready!!---some mornings---i am slow!!---ho!
OK Red I searched above and found my answer. So sorry I know how you loved that place. You remain in my PRAYERS!
