Hello all... just reading the blog and finally at the end I noticed Costume Lady talking about a profile. I remember finding that once but I'll admit I can't find it again. Where is it located? :)
Lisa, it's good to know your name and where you are from! My brother used to live in Michigan (Hastings). Love the state, very much like WV. but we don't have the snows that you do:)
I've also noticed that you have been talking about anestry searches for documents, etc. Have you tried using ancestry.com. You do have to pay monthly fee to be a member but I have found draft registrations for my great-great grandfather, birth certificates and also found a passenger log for a ship leaving England and arriving in New York that my husband's aunt was on.
Sara, I did get to the point where I could go farther with my search for my Grandfather, but I didn't want to pay the fee because I don't know any of HIS family members names and feared it would be wasted money:(
There have been times I have been able to go forward after it has linked me to another family tree authored by someone else. I met a cousin who lived in South Carolina from asking about an entry on her family tree. We had never met and it was just by chance that I found her.
Oh, My Goodness, I started it again! It is something really crazy that was started by some of the carzier ladies on this Blog. Every time someone is the 100th, 200th or 300th person to make a comment, they get the prize of WAX to do with as you please. It was taken from a funny story that someone posted, and I believe Sharon still has it. I will get her to email it to you!:)
I have received the David Hancock email about the Sidney nest eaglets. Hedgie has also forwarded to me. I have it up now and such beautiful eagle sounds Click on the Blue link
Paula, that would be a great document to have....wonder how rare they are? It could be worth money! Have you found him on the Ellis Island site? Jo, that's neat about the house movers...they are supposedly the biggest and best in their field. Wanda....I have so much lighthouse stuff...I finally told family to "cease and desist"!!!! I was never up in the Ocracoke light...just never timed it right to find it open. Just saw the Corolla a few years ago, but couldn't make it up--was going thru' chemo at the time and was too weak. Small world thing there...ran into a couple who are good friends of my youngest daughter and SIL...knew they were going to the beach, but never thought I'd run into them!
I'm no expert, but I have spent a lot of time on genealogy. Ancestry.com is good and lead you to a lot of other places, too. But keep in mind that stuff posted on there is often incorrect, because anyone can add what they "know" from family tales, whether it's right or wrong. My cousin and I found many mistakes. GenWeb is another good source, better in some states and countries than others. It is amazing the amount of stuff that is out there on the web....people have put in lots of time and effort. I even found a cemetery in Iowa where most of our Scottish ancestors in the US are buried...and there were good photos of all headstones, so could print those out without making a trip. If anyone needs website addresses, let me know...I could compile a list of the ones that we have found to be most helpful.
Lynn (Hedgie) you are VERY RIGHT about Ancestry.com You need to watch and collaborate information from there with at least one other place. Their information is not always right. I have always made it a "thing to do" too find 2 places to prove my information in genealogy.
Right you are, Dana. I have made corrections when possible (it won't always keep them) and thern notified the registered poster who put the info on...I have never gotten an acknowledgement ot anything, so often suspect the people are dead!
Glad to hear it, Tbird!!! Yes, Dana. My grandfather always thought his mothers' family was McGregor....my cuz and I found that it was MacGregor....have to remember that not only were so many uneducated, but then translating from one language to another was often a real problem. Know that Ellis Is. workers would write down whatever they wanted...if they didn't understand a name, they would make one up and put it on the documents! Time for some chow in this nest. BBL!
Dana, I have found that to be true. For instance, Concordia, Concovi, etc. (family name is Concovia). I never went with those names because they weren't the same spelling. I have so much to learn in the ancestery search. Takes a looong time.
Her beak hasn't looked right for a while now. Could have something to do whith tos BIG LOGS she has been moving around in the nest. She gets hold of them and acts like a woman possessed...tearing at them and dragging them back and forth and up and down. Even hit Hidey with one a couple of times.
Don't know about in the early 1900's, but in mid-to-late 1800's many made entry via Canada. Don't remember Canadian port names off the top of my head but will look them up if you need them.
Sara Another funny thing on here is putting all the "real names" and monikers together. For example, I am Margy. Ha Ha. When I made my first nest visit last June, I had a little cheat sheet and matched the monikers with the Real Names... We have lots of little tricks on here. Fun ones ☺ TTFN - need to go check on neighbor who was away all week-end. "See" you all in a little while. xo ☺
The picture of the owl was taken while my husband and I were riding 4-wheelers at Quinwood, WV. It flew right in front of us and then I had to go hunting it.
Sara, Buddy is lying on the drivers seat of our Eagle Express. He went with us on a field trip to Belle & Lib's nest. He just climbed up there like he owned the place:)
Sara, if you love photography, we LOVE to see it. Most of us pop a photo on our personal blogs from time to time and we love seeing each others "finds".
We adopted Loco from the animal shelter and couldn't come up with a name. One day he started running through the house and did a nose dive into the chair and my husband said that cat is "LOCO". It stuck.
Good Evening Everyone. I thought I heard raindrops thru the speaker! Now see them flashing on the screen. We're supposed to get rain, too--esp. tomorrow. Like Saturday. I went to a pond anyway after work Sat., & was taping an osprey doing a staight down dive for a fish, but batteries gave out! Bummer! Got some other unusual critters tho - like domestic coot!He was w/all the local geese who beg for food from everyone! Had a PM Panda nap, so gotta eat now....
I checked on the bears for the snowman cam and the first one was seen on May 9 of last year. We probably will have to wait a bit for them to come back out.
Good evening to all my eagle buddies. Haven't been on the blog for a few days but have been watching our lovely cam and that growing youngun! Starting to get the black feathers on its back.
Something I do want to pursue in the future...I do know a lot of Gfather's brothers came over also...but sure there are some relatives left in Poland...
Also would like to do my Mom's side...have some original documents from the 1800's and a family bible with birthdates and names as well...have no clue where they all came from! :)
DEB - which egg of the RTH are you watching for the hatch. Earlier I saw a pipping on the egg to the left - now it looks like one is pipping on the right
Awww new baby chicks, soon. Will have to check them out! I haven't really looked at too many other cams this season...been relying on ya'll to let me know what's up.
This morning I thought I saw a hole toward the end of one of the eggs, now it seems this one is more in the middle. It could be the same egg, just a different view?
Sharon...you are teasing me now with those $250.00 feathers! I would LOVE to have one, but my budget doesn't allow for that luxery:( I have a friend who paints,,,maybe she can do one for me sometime. How much longer will you need your infusions? Are you feeling better?
Hi all! Sitting here with ice on my knee again (just for precaution) and watching Dancing WTS.

Good morning everyone. Back from coffee and dog treata. cyclingswim I have all kinds of eaglecam links on my for the love of Eagles Blog. Click my name and have a visit. Info on many of the other nests as well. NCTC was my first love for sure though.
Deb Just watched that video. Thank you so very much for sharing it with us. It is such a great lesson in get rid of the cynic that lives in each of our hearts at times. WE are the losers at that point. That was an awesome way to spend a part of this morning so thanks again.
Dream on all of you,no matter what your dream is..keep going for it!!!
Good morning! Got a call early, did not have to go Jacob sit after all. He was feeling better and WANTED to go to his school. Laurel thinks it was just allergies.
Deb, loved the video. It did bring tears to my eyes. I want to be a famous singer too, but do NOT think that will happen. LOL Can not carry a tune. You should bring the blue thingy to today's blog. Some might miss it today.
Down another pound this morning. Whoopee!
Another good view at OK right now. We are planning on leaving Friday for OK. Looks like the weather will be good this weekend. Nothing like a good eagle nest hunt!
My cousin sent that video out and I knew I had to share it. It is a wonderful life lesson on not giving up your dreams, but it also a lesson on not judging someone on looks alone.

Sara, you can see profiles for users by clicking on their user names (when in "linkable" blue). Like I'm about to click on you!
I've also noticed that you have been talking about anestry searches for documents, etc. Have you tried using ancestry.com. You do have to pay monthly fee to be a member but I have found draft registrations for my great-great grandfather, birth certificates and also found a passenger log for a ship leaving England and arriving in New York that my husband's aunt was on.
ltl has WAX!
Sara, just click on your name and it will bring you to your profile. If you wish, you can fill in the blanks and tell us about yourself.
Sara, I did get to the point where I could go farther with my search for my Grandfather, but I didn't want to pay the fee because I don't know any of HIS family members names and feared it would be wasted money:(
What's WAX?

UP SIDNEY NEST AND SOME OTHERS
Lynn (Hedgie) you are VERY RIGHT about Ancestry.com You need to watch and collaborate information from there with at least one other place. Their information is not always right. I have always made it a "thing to do" too find 2 places to prove my information in genealogy.
Hi Thelma and Dana. I was just thinking of both of you...glad to see you are alive and well!
Right you are, Dana. I have made corrections when possible (it won't always keep them) and thern notified the registered poster who put the info on...I have never gotten an acknowledgement ot anything, so often suspect the people are dead!
Thanks for the welcome, and the link, Dana.
Watching all this nest work makes me want to go home & straighten up my place. ;)
Yeah, I'm alive and well Lynn. : )
Also remember in genealogy your sir name may have MANY SPELLINGS.
About 5 seconds after saying Sidney unavailable, it popped on!! She is a lovely girl.
Lynn it's good to be back again. Don't know for how long though. Let's just say I'll be in when can.
Can't remember cyclingswim's real name Hello AGAIN
Hi Thelma and Buddy how the world treating you two?
Glad to hear it, Tbird!!!
Yes, Dana. My grandfather always thought his mothers' family was McGregor....my cuz and I found that it was MacGregor....have to remember that not only were so many uneducated, but then translating from one language to another was often a real problem. Know that Ellis Is. workers would write down whatever they wanted...if they didn't understand a name, they would make one up and put it on the documents!
Time for some chow in this nest. BBL!
Hey it's Tbird and Dana...good to see ya!
Hedgie - Do you have the Ellis Island link...
Back out to finish mowing...grass is loooong!
Dana-I'm doing okay. How about you? Later Lynn
Has anyone decided anything about the "mark I think someone said on Belle's nose"?
Both in nest
Hi Paula Gee, it sure is nice to be missed. : )
Thelma and Paula to get to be with everyone and make trip to PA for Easter been on pain meds. Oh how I hate them...grrrrrr
What is wrong with Belle's nose? (Beak I mean)
Dana, I have found that to be true. For instance, Concordia, Concovi, etc. (family name is Concovia). I never went with those names because they weren't the same spelling. I have so much to learn in the ancestery search. Takes a looong time.
We do miss you and Buddy, Thelma:) Drop in more often!
Wanda there is a lot of records out there. Takes a lot of time searching.
Timer going off din din ready bbl
later Dana
It is so neat to watch Hidey do nestorations with her parent.
Her beak hasn't looked right for a while now. Could have something to do whith tos BIG LOGS she has been moving around in the nest. She gets hold of them and acts like a woman possessed...tearing at them and dragging them back and forth and up and down. Even hit Hidey with one a couple of times.
I sure have noticed to "logs" Wanda.
I sure would hate for something to be wrong with one of our eagles.
Paula:
Ellis Island
Don't know about in the early 1900's, but in mid-to-late 1800's many made entry via Canada. Don't remember Canadian port names off the top of my head but will look them up if you need them.

RED TAIL HAWK NEST
Sara, if you love photography, we LOVE to see it. Most of us pop a photo on our personal blogs from time to time and we love seeing each others "finds".
TV time here.
Sara-as Wanda has neglected to tell you. She treated Buddy like he was the captain, giving him hotdogs. He was in heaven. : )
We adopted Loco from the animal shelter and couldn't come up with a name. One day he started running through the house and did a nose dive into the chair and my husband said that cat is "LOCO". It stuck.
Later Wanda-I'm jumping off too. I hope you all have a great night.
I'll have to work on figuring out how to add photos. We take the camera everywhere.
later Thelma.
There is a pip hole in one of the hawk eggs!
Good Evening Everyone. I thought I heard raindrops thru the speaker! Now see them flashing on the screen. We're supposed to get rain, too--esp. tomorrow. Like Saturday. Good evening to all my eagle buddies. Haven't been on the blog for a few days but have been watching our lovely cam and that growing youngun! Starting to get the black feathers on its back.

I think we will have a little hawk soon!
Awww new baby chicks, soon. Will have to check them out! I haven't really looked at too many other cams this season...been relying on ya'll to let me know what's up.

Huge feetsies on the OK babe!
My cousin sent that video out and I knew I had to share it. It is a wonderful life lesson on not giving up your dreams, but it also a lesson on not judging someone on looks alone.
Lolly, agree with you there on those OK babe feetsies!
Parent on nest with prey!
