Do you all see the yellow beak on our eagle? That means color is showing!
It sure looks like it is trying to go to color, sometimes the green comes through for the trees below also.
Only our Eagle Eyed Sharon would notice a yellow beak showing. I take it we don't have full color yet? I still can't see our babies. Going to visit my Mom...but will try some more to get Real Player up and running when we get home.

Color has seemed better since yesterday...I have seen green and the yellow beak before today...but looks better today...she must be in the right spot...

Jack just came in, I showed him "Pearl" sittin beside her Mother. He said, "So, (as he pointed to Belle)that is Mother of Pearl". Ohhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
So, if she can not get under, she will just stick her head under!

Today has been a special day for eagle watchers with the new chick being born. Now that is GRAND ( :
Sure hoping the 2 osprey at BW will be able to stay and defend their nest this year. With nothing happening to eggs.
I will also feel much better when Wanda gets her Real Player working. So she can enjoy our 3 chicklets.
One of the TH eggs in the incubator at IWS died....
They are hoping for the second, youngest egg to hatch between midnight and 8am tomorrow

Tiny's wings seem so tiny in comparison to her body - compared to the other two. It's amazing the difference in development that a couple of days can make. Am I just imagining it that the feedings are less frequent now - or have I just missed them?

Update from Wing on the Maine blog...doesn't think this pair will lay eggs this year.
Baby must be full from the last go round. He laying down behind the other two.
And yes, Carol, it seems the feedings last longer, and the chicks remain fuller for longer.

Yeah, DANA - I hope I can come too. Are there any plans in the works for a get together? I'll have to save up to pay for the gas!! It's always good to see you and the other momsters and to meet new ones. Great news about BWO birds!!

Two osprey at BWO.
Wow- just got computer running again, looks like a feeding in progress. Two chicks up out of the nest cup and beside parent towards 12 o'clock.
# 1 stuck in the nest cup,not enough room to get out- still getting plenty of food, and still pecking-ow-tiny just got one to the head.
my real player has froze up 6 times in last hour......and still not able to get onto to 30second cam
My computer shut itself off and I had to wait a while to try to start it again. I gave up on the 30 sec cam, I can't open that page at all either.
I'm about ready to give up on the RP.
People seem to have problems with it, honestly, at the moment its one of the few things actually running right on my computer.
Looks like feeding time is over, parent is now at 9 o'clock, tiny and middler still up on back side of nest cup, #1 in nest cup.
Running back outside to take advantage of this beautiful day, its a little breezy, but the sun is shining:) hope you get that RP working right.

oh, trust me, Dana, I am cussing under my breath, about ready to uninstall and re-install it, this has been one feature I have never had problems with til now, can go to any other site and it works fine
Wow just checked the Oklahama eagle cam. It is pulled way back...maybe still working on cam?
If this will help you any Mits. When some have been saying they are having "freezing up problems". I have had NONE.....today for some reason it has frozen 6 or 8 times.

I am back home with a very unhappy dog. He wants food and water and the vet said no to both for 12 hours. It is going to be a long 12 hours.
Still 3 eggs in CO, can't tell at BC, the eagle only showed one of the eggs at turning, but doesn't act like any have hatched.

He had his teeth cleaned and eye surgery (cherry eye). He is part Lhasa Apso and not sure what else (got him at the pound)
I believe it is Belle just flew in. Liberty is telling her he fed the chicks all ate well. Out he goes.
Adult was in BWE nest earlier but gone now. I know the temp is about
67° but I guess they are right up above keeping watch over those 2 little ones.

Yes, Deb, Windows and AOL adn MacAfee are all busy updating many times a day right now. Plus I need to update my video card driver and a few other similar things.
Just redoing my desktop preferences and favorites and my address books is taking a lot of time... My first computer had a total of 425 Mbytes of space, which was kinda hard to back up, but now I have 20 Gigabytes "used space", which is a lot, lot harder.
I think I'll take the Tech's advice and either get a bag full of DVD's or buy an external, plug-in hard drive and BACK UP THE FILES I WANT TO SAVE!
Either Dana or Mema Jo, please give us the candles' links. :~)

Jim, I have an external hard drive, just in case, but with my Mac, it automatically backs up to a .mac address. I should probably be doing both, instead of trusting Mac.

Jo, keep it open for awhile, they are nestorating right now, so they are in and out. One back in again.
Jo I was just kidding when I opened the OR site the eagle just had come in. Turn my head and looked back and it was gone. No April fools I wouldn't pull that one.
Deb - I asked Dr Sharpe if he knew why the chick died, or would he investigate why. There was a video posted on the blog yesterday of the chick trying to internally pip. This is the egg that died. Here is Dr Sharpe's answer.
The camera is on all night in the hatcher so I can watch from home. I will break open the unhatched egg so that it can be analyzed for contaminants. I'll be able to see if the chick was malpositioned for hatching, but beyond that it has hard to determine why they die. I'll help them out when I can, but there is nothing I can do if they have not externally pipped. Any earlier assistance would likely kill them because there are still active blood vessels running through the membranes and they haven't absorbed the yolk sac yet.
I keep OR open in Quick time player, not sure if you can do that or not.
Basically, they have to break the internal sac and get to the air space, and abosorb the rest of the yolk. Then they can break through the external shell

Quicktime is the only way I can watch it without a lot of interference.
That's what I get with it too if I try the site just by itself, it ends up showing up in WMP etc.

Morning, world. Hump day, we made it this far! Chilly out, and very windy! 45° in PA, 48° here, so the wind doesn't seem quite too bad. Both our nest and BW nest are sleeping on chick blankets. Too cute. Glad our cam is back up! Will have to go see what I missed. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Wow, deer are early today. Deer arriving in PA.
Deer are gone in PA, and fatty the racoon has taken his place. Only 1 deer was there, so I'm guessing he was the early bird. Or she, I mean. Others will be arriving later. CO owletts are awake, and can see their feathers much clearer today, even in the IR light. Still too dark to see anything else there. Also still no word on the Hilton Head osprey eggs on their webpage. Just wonder if the pair will lay another egg or not. Would have been a really cool site to watch them!
BW eaglets and parent all have their own "space" now. Our parent is still using a chick blanket, and just saw something move there. Looks like a little head, how cute is that!

Belle just woke up, and has her head down checking on the kids. Her chick blankie, but they're still sleeping. Oh, now she just moved and is half on top of them, but they're all out of the egg cup. Looks like they're right in front of it.
Lady BW just woke up too, but those kids are also still sleeping.
Nope Suzanne, I haven't been able to open the still cam page for a week now. Or any other FWS page either. I'll send Steve an email as soon as Sharon or some other early bird assures me the live feed is down and its not just my junky computer having issues.
Belle now has the kids half way under her chest, and head back under wings and going to sleep. Lady BW thinking about leaving the kids, she usually leaves around 6:30.
Ok, Megan. You're right, wait for someone else to get up and check it. Lady BW just this second left. Belle is awake again and looking around, but still on the kids.
BW kids are alone, but stretching out, not snuggling. Belle has her head down talking to our kids, I guess. She's not in the feeding area, so don't think they're eating breakfast yet.
