TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE: On Wednesday evening, February 20th, the full Moon over Europe and the Americas will turn a delightful shade of red. It's a total lunar eclipse—the last one until Dec. 2010-spaceweather.com has more info- it may be too cloudy here to see it
Thanks, Jo, for the info on the eggs. I was sure they would have found remnants of a broken egg. I guess the encounters weren't as violent as we thought.
Thank you, to Megan, Paula, Iris and Jo, for all the information on the egg retrieval. Only two eggs, when we all thought 3 for sure.
Record lows expected tonight with high winds--yuck. As of 9 central time, it is already -15 in Watertown, SD, about 2 hours north of me. Hey weatherman, it's February, enough already!
Night, all, I'll let you know if we set any records in the morning.
On Wednesday evening, February 20th, the full Moon over the Americas will turn a delightful shade of red and possibly turquoise, too. It's a total lunar eclipse—the last one until Dec. 2010.
The Sun goes down. The Moon comes up. You go out and look at the sky. Observing the eclipse is that easy. Maximum eclipse, and maximum beauty, occurs at 10:26 pm EST (7:26 pm PST).
Good morning world! Cold again, but no wind, so that's a good thing. Guess we're supposed to get snow later today, but nothing right now. 21° in PA, 28° here in VA, and a very bright moon. Think tonight is the lunar eclipse, 10-10:30ish I think. Don't really know, cause I know I'll be in bed. Our eagle is sound asleep, hope he's staying warm. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Well, opening cams. PA site has been suspended, can't open. Both owl eggs are visible at the Valmont site, but no parent is around. Owl hotel has a pic from yesterday, so it's not updating. SD has Su Lin, not our baby, and of course it's dark anyway. I did see the pics from NBG of them retrieving the 2 eagle eggs. Guess I thought there was 3, but don't think I was alone thinking that! Mama Owl in CA is also off her 3 eggs. And that's the rest of the story for today. I'm just VERY glad our cam and both BW cams are up and running!
Soke too soon. Said both BW cams were working. Shortly after that, lost the bottom half of both cams. Now when you hit refresh, you just get a black screen. Darn. Well, it did come back, but still only top half of the pics.
Good Morning all you early birds, I have some good news, our eagles have eggs. The female has been on the nest sense this past saturday. Morning all- Eagle on the Norfolk cam, not on the nest, cam is showing one in a tree
I can't get BW nests either, but have Tesoro up and our nest up.
WANDA don't like hearing you have snow coming your way. Poor Lib and Belle with their eggs.
Good morning MEGAN, thanks for clearing that one up for me. I wonder which it is; the fickle male or the new female.
Thanks MEGAN for the heads up on the eclipse tonight. I'll have to try and stay awake so I can watch. That kind of thing has always interested me.
Two eagles at our nest!
Change of guard time. Three eggs still visible.
They are thinking it's the male-not sure. Hope it's not too cloudy here to see the eclipse of hte moon. Apparently the gov. will also attempt top shoot satellite out of the sky tonite over the Pacific

Tesoro chicks are really starting to get restless. Just saw one doing wing flaps. Can't believe how big they have gotten.
Yes SUZANNE, three perfect little eggs were visible. Belle has now settled down for her warming of the eggs.
Thanks goodness nothing has happened to our nest this year.
Well, children are about ready to start coming in, soooooooo I had better finish getting the room together and papers passed out.
You all have a good EAGLE watching day and SUZANNE, you keep a close watch on that weather for your safe trip home.
Tesoro is wing glapping again. Wonder if that will go on all day now. I'll havae to keep it on for the children to watch.
All have a wonderful day. BBL
I just added 2 pics to Momsters. One of the whole family when Lib left and Belle took over.
Candy, I will, and you stay safe also! From what I've heard of the weather, gonna be another short week this week. Well, already is short, make that shorter!
COME ON OVER!!!---STEVEN HAS GIVEN US A NEW THREAD!!!!
Who is on the MBG nest now????
That looks like the original female? They took the eggs yesterday, looks like she's looking for them.
Awwwwwwww, poor thing. She lost her flakey mate and her babies at the same time. Feel sorry for her. They're zooming in.
Norma stated 3 comments above that NEW THREAD
NEW THREAD, SUZANNE AND GROUP.
Well, she left. Didn't see her leave, was called over to another cube. GRRRRRRRRRR.
Ok, it was hte new female on Norfolk cam, just sitting in tree, and then she checked out the nest briefly.
