Monday, February 11, 2008 “Egg Number Three!” For the third consecutive year the eagles at the Norfiolk Botanical garden have laid a third egg. This is a testament to the richness of the habitat. With the freshwater of Lake Whitehurst adjacent to the Garden and the Chesapeake Bay nearby (not to mention ALL those tasty gulls), this pair have found the resources to support their remarkable production. The third egg was laid Friday Feb. 8th at 11:41 pm. A full week seperated the laying of the 1st and 3rd egg (just as last year). The parents will be busy once these eggs hatch, trying to provide enough food for three hungry mouths.
I'll bet our first and last egg were a week apart, also.
No Firefox here. My avatar is invisible. LOL. Wanda's is roses and Happy Valentine's day on it. Can't see the writing til you enlarge it tho. I don't think it is any particular software, I think it is the blog software because it comes and goes on mine.

Eagle calling at Ph, but some other bird is in the nest.
Dana and Mits, your cat was just in PA, by the time I saw it, it was too late to take a picture of it.
Was it the Black one Deb?
I think so, by the time I noticed it, I mostly saw the shape. I have been watching Kent, hoping for some eagles, but nothing so far.
My Avatar is haunted or magic. Now you see it, now you don't.
So far, Wanda, I haven't gotten to see it. It is just an X for me.
That was a northern flicker at PH. The blue ones are scrub jays. The BIG black ones are ravens.
I wonder what is happening at PH. The last time I heard screeching like that, an eagle came to the nest and ate a bird.
I see it, I see it!
Sometimes Photobucket has issues...
I can't even see the 'x' You're lucky! I just can see a empty rectangle box! lol
Thanks, Paula, I wondered what it was.
Now I see a ? in the box. It is haunted!!
I still see it :-)
Our eagle is sleeping
The owls are about to awaken for the night....
I hope we don't get snow showers even though that's what every weather station is saying.
Suzanne didn't know what it would be like being off in the middle of a week...She just might find out!
I guess Wanda's Valentine was just meant for me, since I am the only one that seems to see it. LOL
LOL, must be a firefox thingy now!
Eagle still snoozing...
Paula - Is that a
"Heart Throb"
I still can't see Wanda's...
What is it I am going to see?
I could have swore i left a blog about those owls earlier this evening.. LOL im laughing Paula... I simply ment having so many eggs (owl) the larger usually do away with the competion?? Or am i wrong? Heavens i didnt mean to mess with your mind..lol
Nilla, it isn't the meds playing tricks on you. I do recall, and I'm sure Jo will too, a lot of cannibalism going on in that nest.
Sorry about the Avatar playing with your eyes. I will change it tomorrow and see if something else works better.
OWLS: I love the adults and the laying of the eggs. However, not sure I will watch them eat rats & things and Woo be unto the weakest

I didn't watch that one last year when it happened - I am surprising myself by watching the owls this season. I do have 3 very good sites:1 barn owl & 2 Great Horned Owls.
The owl sites with the laying of their eggs will fill in some off time while our eagles incubate.....

AJ, you are right, Belle is a good Mama and Liberty is a good Dad.
