Eagle calling at Ph, but some other bird is in the nest.

deb said...

Dana and Mits, your cat was just in PA, by the time I saw it, it was too late to take a picture of it.

Mema Jo said...

Was it the Black one Deb?

deb said...

I think so, by the time I noticed it, I mostly saw the shape. I have been watching Kent, hoping for some eagles, but nothing so far.

Costume Lady said...

My Avatar is haunted or magic. Now you see it, now you don't.

deb said...

So far, Wanda, I haven't gotten to see it. It is just an X for me.

paula eagleholic said...

That was a northern flicker at PH. The blue ones are scrub jays. The BIG black ones are ravens.

deb said...

I wonder what is happening at PH. The last time I heard screeching like that, an eagle came to the nest and ate a bird.

paula eagleholic said...

I see it, I see it!

Sometimes Photobucket has issues...

Mema Jo said...

I can't even see the 'x' You're lucky! I just can see a empty rectangle box! lol

deb said...

Thanks, Paula, I wondered what it was.

deb said...

Now I see a ? in the box. It is haunted!!

paula eagleholic said...

I still see it :-)

Mema Jo said...

Our eagle is sleeping
The owls are about to awaken for the night....
I hope we don't get snow showers even though that's what every weather station is saying.
Suzanne didn't know what it would be like being off in the middle of a week...She just might find out!

Jill said...

I guess Wanda's Valentine was just meant for me, since I am the only one that seems to see it. LOL

paula eagleholic said...

Mema Jo said...

“Egg Number Three!”
For the third consecutive year the eagles at the Norfiolk Botanical garden have laid a third egg. This is a testament to the richness of the habitat. With the freshwater of Lake Whitehurst adjacent to the Garden and the Chesapeake Bay nearby (not to mention ALL those tasty gulls), this pair have found the resources to support their remarkable production. The third egg was laid Friday Feb. 8th at 11:41 pm. A full week seperated the laying of the 1st and 3rd egg (just as last year). The parents will be busy once these eggs hatch, trying to provide enough food for three hungry mouths.

I'll bet our first and last egg were a week apart, also.

deb said...

I have Safari, that must be it, Paula.

Jill said...

No Firefox here. My avatar is invisible. LOL. Wanda's is roses and Happy Valentine's day on it. Can't see the writing til you enlarge it tho. I don't think it is any particular software, I think it is the blog software because it comes and goes on mine.

NillaWafer said...

Jo i made some Lipton noodle soup.. and some orange jello.. No Paula what i said was just a thoughti had because if i remember correctly they did kill n devore the smaller owls? Or was it anightmare i had?lol

paula eagleholic said...

Nilla - Now I am completely lost!

NillaWafer said...

LOL im laughing Paula... I simply ment having so many eggs (owl) the larger usually do away with the competion?? Or am i wrong? Heavens i didnt mean to mess with your mind..lol

Costume Lady said...

Nilla, it isn't the meds playing tricks on you. I do recall, and I'm sure Jo will too, a lot of cannibalism going on in that nest.

Costume Lady said...

Sorry about the Avatar playing with your eyes. I will change it tomorrow and see if something else works better.

Mema Jo said...

OWLS: I love the adults and the laying of the eggs. However, not sure I will watch them eat rats & things and Woo be unto the weakest
cause the strong will gobble him up!!
I didn't watch that one last year when it happened - I am surprising myself by watching the owls this season. I do have 3 very good sites:1 barn owl & 2 Great Horned Owls.

Mema Jo said...

The owl sites with the laying of their eggs will fill in some off time while our eagles incubate.....

Mema Jo said...

ANYHOW: I came in to say that since I was up much earlier then usual this morning -

Good Night
Peace to you & Yours
All of you get some rest tonight
and wake up refreshed for a new day!
Prayers for all of us - we all need one thing or another - especially our health. ((((HUGS))))

NillaWafer said...

Thank God im NOT TOTALLY LOSING IT!!! thanks Jo and Wanda... I agree Jo it gets nasty but such is mother nature.. Bu ti dont think any horror could EVER be as bad as Belle in the ice and snow last year and this year is looking so promising.. I got an E-mail from Jim saying he thought the eggs looked larger and i agree.. guess when Lib did the doo he gave it an extra shot..lol opps did i say that???

Costume Lady said...

NILLA, what on earth were you doing up half the night? If you couldn't sleep, I hope you catch up today.

Costume Lady said...

AJ, you are right, Belle is a good Mama and Liberty is a good Dad.

Costume Lady said...

I just checked out SHARON'S Bluefield, and she has no snow. Sorry Sharon, I know you like the snow. Just look at our nest and that will give you your Snow Fix.
