Thanks for the new thread, Steve, and thanks for the heads up, Wanda! I was just posting on the other thread, sure glad I looked back. Think this may be Lib, but not sure.
Well, at least we got to see one. I don't get to see either of them very often. I haven't seen Squiggles for a week. I only check in on her once or twice a day and each time she is hidden by Mom. I bet she is huge. Is she motivating yet?
It's worth getting up early to see them. Of course we are always up before they visit. I go for coffee and by the time I get back they are gone. I get lucky once in a while.
GOOD MORNING ROBYN-- Yes, I'm here. I found Jim's report on the fires very interesting. Nothing like a First-Hand report. I heard on the news that a suspected arsonist was shot and killed and another is in custody.
Oh my, Frieda is covering Dolly in her corner, and cam is still in color. I was watching them, and blam, rain on the cam! So we're not the only ones getting rain!
Just checked BW again, it's down at the moment. Pic not updating at all, and bottom part of pic not showing. Lib still hanging out on his takeoff perch, but he's just standing there facing the nest. You can see his yellow feetsies.
OK SUZ...I have had my FIX for the day now I have to get the shop ready for a long day. Tomorrow will be a looooong day. Have a safe trip home. Oh, in case you need Pete's Pond: http://www9.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/wildcamafrica/
Good morning all. I am sleeping a little later, getting back into Central Time :). Off for coffee and dog treats. Guess I have missed our friends twice already today. They were sure busy yesterday.
GOOD MORING EAGLE BUDDIES!!!--What a AWESOME--WET--RAINY 50° a.m. in WV!!!---BEAUTIFUL RAIN!!---HELLO JIM---SUZANNE---CANDY--WANDA & ROBYN!! SUZANNE---Was the "ATLANTA BEAUTY" on yesterday!!!---I need to read yesterday's blog!!---SORRY I missed LIB & BELLE this a.m.--I was up reading newspaper--tomorrow---1) CHECK NEST---2) Read paper---Guess I have my priorities confused!!---ho!----ENJOY THE RAIN TODAY & DANCE IN IT!!!---LIFE IS GOOD!!---ANNE-MARIE--GLO & VICKY returned home safely!!!!
Morning, Norma! No, Atlanta was down again yesterday for maintenance. Will try in about an hour, hopefully it will be up today! Yup, got your priorities straightened out now I see. F&F still in color, looks like one parent may be covering Dolly, or else that's Dolly in the corner. She's getting big and dark feathers are coming in.
Just got my flu shot, owwww! the nurse here is usually pretty good, this morning she put that shot in like she was shooting darts! Darn.
Watching NZ, one panda snoozing, closeup of face, adorable, and one panda on cam2 restless. All over the place. Bai and Squiggles are sleeping.
SUZANNE----Did you forget to give the nurse a XMAS present last year?----She remembers things like that!!!---ho!---Must get mine soon!! (i mean my shot)
Sure did Norma! I'll have to get her something this year. Hope her day improves! You're not gonna believe this, I can actually get WaveLit! I'm watching a really neat woodpecker. How cool is that! He's so cute...
Well, DUH, read the screen. Says this is Woody. So ok, now I know. Not sure if this is live, or a video, I would think birds are finished nesting for this year, but what do I know? Cool to watch in any case.
OMG, check out that tongue action! Wow. Sticks his tongue out and goes between the bark and the bare tree. Who knew? Ok, you've probably all seen this, but it's new to me.
LOL, Yeah, Norma. I thought of you this morning. You've said that before about Tai running the cam, and this morning it was all over the place! So was thinking you were right, Tai was running the cam, cause they couldn't find him. Too funny!
Ok, this is a video. There are babies in the woodpecker nest. How cute is that. Anyway, nice of them to run the videos, people like me get to see what they've missed.
Tai is starting to climb a tree, but branches don't look very strong!
These 2 are hilarious! Been at it for quite a while now. Up the tree went one, immediately up the tree came the other. Wow, they switched sides in the tree. Awesome!
MORNIN' HELEN!!---How was your afternoon at the ZOO?---Did you see the "LITTLE PRINCE"-----ho!----SUZANNE--Your are correct---he doesn't just walk---he STROLLS!!---ADORABLE!!!!
WOW!---Did they call a "truce"?---I think those were LOVE PATS!!---ho!---You could really hear them goin' at it!!---POOR TAI---I bet he wishes he had someone to wrestle with!!!
GOOD MORNING MOVIN' JIM!!!----Have you noticed---Every one is telling you how to go to sleep!!!----When you get the "HOW TO" figured out---You can write a book on the subject & YOU'LL BE RICH!!---Then we will all want your autograph!! ho!---Hope you are getting some sleep!!---ARE YOU STILL GETTING SMOKE FROM THE FIRES??

yes, Paula, but I don't think my 15 sec one is refreshing although the eagle has gone, maybe it is refreshing once every 60 secs, don't see it blinking when they is a change
YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!---Saw THREE DIVERS!!---Just as I pulled it up---they were there---looking into the cam & then turned & went back!!----THAT IS SO COOL---2 in a ROW!--Not many fish at all!!!
It looks like more rain at Pete's Pond this evening (Africa). I noticed there were more groups of elephants drinking, but they don't waste any time drinking, and they don't bathe, or spend time in the water at all, when the weather is like this. Maybe they're afraid of lightening strikes. They just drink what they need and hurry away from the water.
SUZANNE----That's about the same time I caught them Tuesday!!!!----Love watching them!!----When I was checking on the wood peckers---An ad on the CAYMAN Islands---you get a glimpse of DIVERS!!!---Have you ever tried?----
missed the divers, seems like they are there between 10:30 and 11:00a.m., one of the neatest times to watch is around 6 east coast time, the fish are everywhere.
Glad you got to see them, Norma. Yea, Mits, they're usually here around 11, or shortly before. But they came down, did they go back? Saw some others after those first 3. No Norma, haven't checked out the Caymens.
Both Atlanta beauties are in the hammock. Adorable! NZ pandas are hiding on both cams.
Too funny. Baby coming onto the hammock through the holes! Hilarious. Uh oh, nope, she doesn't fit. Hum, have to sit down and think about this. She got her head and one arm through before she quit, so it must stretch a little bit. Trying again that way! Oh, she's gonna make it! Mom walking underneith. Is mom pulling her back out? Yup, she sure is. Oh this is too funny. Now they're gonna wrestle!
LOOK NOW---LITTLE BEAUTY---is coming up thru the hammock--head first--rom behind----Look at those little black legs move!!!---THAT LITTLE IMP!!---SPUNKY !!!!
Norma, is BIG BOB the one with the big eyes and loves the cam??? I don't know what he problem with Tesoro is, but there cam should be getting pretty active with nestorations etc!
Where is JO!!----SHE loves watching those two "rock & roll"--- Used to see TAI & his MOM doing the same thing!!!!----So funny--Should have to pay to watch!!!---We have been so lucky to have seen three PANDAS born!!!!----HELEN has taught us so much about them too!!!
OH MY!!---Must be LUNCH time in ATLANTA----I can see the BAMBOO stalk moving up & down by LUN LUN!! The "LITTLE BEAUTY" is eating her cookies---(such good manners)---Sure chews alot--ho!---As you say SUZANNE--"TOO CUTE"!!!!!
They are adorable, and yes, we are very lucky to have all these panda babies. And at different ages, just too fun to watch! Mits, you'll have time to take pics next week, won't you?
Norma, Boo at the Zoo is this weekend, I think, could have signed up to volunteer, but didn't...won't be back at zoo til November now, Suzanne.....got my live-stream for Maine up, but eagle has left the nest.
The "fighting duo" at the NZOO are sitting close to each other---& are EATING not FIGHTING!!!---FOOD WINS EVERY TIME!!!!!----still cool here---They like cooler weather!!
Do you have "TRICK OR TREAT" at your alls houses in the city???----We have it----But my house is up by itself & now that the kids are gone---I don't turn my light on!!!
OH, ok, Mits. Glad you at least got Maine up! Norma, you're right, food wins every time. Well, except for birds and raptors, in that case food means mega fights! Enjoy the cams, blog everything so I can catch up tomorrow. Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
See ya, Suzanne....Norma, I get very few kids here now, so many contained partys now, might go to beach for a few days, hubby and I don't need candy around the house, always buy the kind we like
Hi, eagle lovers. I haven't had time all week til now to log-in. We are finalizing our audit this week, plus several staff members are getting ready to travel next week, plus we've had some job interviews this week - so, it has been busy here. I wanted to say that it was good to see everyone on the train ride and to spend some time with you. It was good to meet Glo, Anne and Diana. (Anne - your grand daughter is charming. Not many young ladies would enjoy being around a bunch of crazy old ladies like us!)
Having said the above - I now have a serious issue for you West Virginians. Our governor has authorized an online poll to decide on a State Welcome Message to replace the current horrid one: "WV - Open for Business". Go to www.wvgov.org and click on the "Welcome Message Survey" box and vote on your choice of the 3 options. The govenor will honor the majority vote and will ask the legislature in January to change the Welcome Message. The voting ends at midnight October 29.
HI CAROL FROM PENDLETON COUNTY!!---Thanks for reminding everyone---I have voted---SORRY--I didn't get to see you Sunday!!!---I understand everyone was disappointed----those EAGLES didn't show!!----It's very RARE for them not to show up & fly along the train!!!!--I was afraid that might happen!!---But hope everyone enjoyed the BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!
Good Afternoon everyone! This weather has either a calming effect or a depressing effect - Seems like I am swinging in & out! ButaButa put on a good show this am - Glad the early birds got an eagle fix - Sleeping pandas on all the cams - Dolly also sleeping under watchful eye of Frieda - Asia Trail is quiet with no sightings.
Sgt Ryan made it safely to Kuwait. I'm off to do the End-of-the-month thing. BBL
I have already placed my vote Carol but thanks for the reminder. Anything is better than Open for Business.
Norma-we get a bunch of trick or treaters here, right in town. And it is young Zachary's birthday. WE gave up trying to do anything on his birthday because it is so rushed. Will probably take him to the skatepark in Frederick one day next week with some friends. He came home from school sick today. Hoping it is not strep but no fever at this point.
ANN, THANKS FOR THE REMINDER TO VOTE FOR THE NEW STATE SLOGAN. I guess we all think Manchin is stupid for putting up "Open for Business". I have forgotten the exact amount, but it something like $50,000 to put the new signs back up (taxpayer money).
Thanks Mits. Can't take him to the Dr. til tomorrow anyway so we will just have to wait and see how he is tomorrow. I think it is just allergy drainage. He says it doesn't hurt as bad this afternoon as earlier.
I checked the SD Zoo for Panda exam...the first pic on the "News" slide show is from yesterday. But there is nothing published as far as an interview or video yet.
Megan - I voted for "Wild, Wonderful" - but "Almost Heaven" was a very close contender for me. Norma - I'm sorry also that I didn't get to see you last weekend. But, I am planning to attend the Christmas Party - so I'll see you then. Yes, it was too bad we didn't see any adult eagles on Sunday.

EAGLE Alert---Thanks Steve
Are you watching Steve?
Thanks for the new thread, Steve, and thanks for the heads up, Wanda! I was just posting on the other thread, sure glad I looked back.
Think this may be Lib, but not sure.
Darn squiggly lines!
I can never tell which it is unless they are together. And then I guess Belle is the larger one?
Darn, gone! Nice to see one though! Maybe they'll be back.
Yes, Wanda, Belle is quite a bit bigger than Lib. She pretty much fills the nest when she's in it, he only takes up a little space!
BACK!!
BOTH!
Wanda, Belle is the one that just came in, in the front of Lib in the nest.
Well, at least we got to see one. I don't get to see either of them very often. I haven't seen Squiggles for a week. I only check in on her once or twice a day and each time she is hidden by Mom. I bet she is huge. Is she motivating yet?
What a sight!!
Almost looks like Belle has something she's eating. Not a clue what that white is...
LOL, not really Wanda. She like to wiggly around, but not really crawling or moving around.
Darn, think Lib just left.
It's worth getting up early to see them. Of course we are always up before they visit. I go for coffee and by the time I get back they are gone. I get lucky once in a while.
I'm lagging this morning from previous post

Well, there went Belle. Lib is still on his perch!
alrighty I am dressed and ready to go out, stay dry all.

One herd of elephants leaving and one herd starting to drink at Pete's Pond.
Jim
Saw "Fatty" the crocodile sunning on the bank last night before sleep.
I had thought he might have left the pond ... I guess there's a large river nearby.
Also saw a large Monitor "hiding" under one of the trees this morning.
Jim
MORNIN' PAULA!----We are having this soft easy rain for the past few days!!!---GOOD SLEEPING WEATHER!!

Little BUTA BUTA---back down the tree & is following LUN LUN across the lawn--Will see what happens---Out of camera range now!!!
"Soft, easy rain" is what we could use in So Cal now, Norma, Paula... Otherwise, we'll probably have some horrendous mudslides and more disaster.
Jim

Eagle still at Kent
Any clue which one it is Mits
EAGLE UP IN MAINE........

She got her head and one arm through before she quit, so it must stretch a little bit. Trying again that way! Oh, she's gonna make it! Mom walking underneith. Is mom pulling her back out? All have a great eagle/panda day.

Jill sometimes you can have strep without a fever.
The BW cam seems to be up and there is an eagle on the platform.
Jim
Thanks Jim - I was just about to check it out......
So what's everyone going for, Almost Heaven or back to Wild, wonderful?
Here's an interesting photo for Norma and those of you, who wondered about the smoke from the fires.
Jim
California smokin
Well, I can't vote, Megan, but I like the Almost Heaven one:)
2 eagles at BW
Thanks Mits. Can't take him to the Dr. til tomorrow anyway so we will just have to wait and see how he is tomorrow. I think it is just allergy drainage. He says it doesn't hurt as bad this afternoon as earlier.
Hey, Mema Jo, Mits and those of you, who talk to the people at Kent,
Do they know that camera #3 is frozen and is about a week behind the other two??
Jim
jIM ,IT HAS BEEN THAT WAY FOR WEEKS.
I guess they probably know about it then, Mits.
I checked the SD Zoo for Panda exam...the first pic on the "News" slide show is from yesterday. But there is nothing published as far as an interview or video yet.
Jim
BW CAM IS STUCK
Megan - I voted for "Wild, Wonderful" - but "Almost Heaven" was a very close contender for me. Norma - I'm sorry also that I didn't get to see you last weekend. But, I am planning to attend the Christmas Party - so I'll see you then. Yes, it was too bad we didn't see any adult eagles on Sunday.
BW is back up with eagle.
