I was getting some gravel to put in the bottom of a new flower pot to transplant a gigantic cactus. As I was backing away, I lost my balance and went kerplop! Had a very slight headache, but it was gone after the nap. I am good as new, except for a skinned up elbow.
Hope the oil spill in Montana isn't in the way of any of Irene's plans, and that it can be cleaned up PRONTO!

The last time I fell and sustained an injury, it was a puncture wound and bad bruise right below my knee.....lower leg and foot and toes looked worse than the point of impact!!

When Will and Susan were toddlers, I sometimes changed their diapers on the floor with a beagle between me and child, so I am used to interference.

I mentioned earlier that Rus hid under the dashboard at his first fireworks.
Rus was also afraid of the Count on Sesame Street. He would not admit it, but he would casually walk behind a piece of furniture when the Count Came on. The Count and the Flying Monkeys on The Wizard of Oz--Rus did not like them.
Luna is sleeping now. I think that the benadryl has gotten to her.

Thought I should check in. Overdid it a little today. Went to the flea market, yard sales, then to the Riffe reunion. Been a little lazy this evening and going to bed now. Still get short of breath sometimes and a little lightheaded. I go for my next iron infusion on Wednesday and they will check my blood work again then.

When I fell on my knee a month or so ago, my leg swelled from mid-calf to mid-thigh! They said it was from blood thinner pill I take.Internal soft tissue damage. It did bruise later, but not very much. I was wearing jeans at time.Am wearing knee brace now!
I feel real lucky that in the 3 falls I've had since winter, I never broke anything(knock on wooden head). My Dr's wife tripped on one of those thin asphalt strips on driveway and broke her wrist over a year ago. She's a nurse & still goes to therapy!Had to stop working full time at hosp.

Bunch of wrecks in last 4 laps of race....argh! Jr. got hit on final lap...finished 17th.....had been in 6th.
We are home! Immediately started watering spots in the lawn and the flower pots. Lost some areas of lawn but guess that was to be expected with multiple days over 100.
Now doing laundry. We did not start unloading until this evening because it was so hot. Wjill do more unloading in the morning.

I will probably get pictures on my blog sometime next week. Tomorrow more unloading and laundry. Monday we go to Laurel's.
Do have one story. We did not see a bear in the park, just lots of deer and lots of elk. However, there are bears there and there is a Momma and three cubs in the area. She has been there at the campground. However, her home area is around a small lake called Cub Lake and we hiked there. It is about a two mile hike up to the lake. On the way there saw lots of bear evidence....freshly torn up tree trunks and logs. Really exciting. Laurel and I were busy looking in the trees as well as on the ground.
I am heading to bed now. Think I am allergic to Annie...getting stuffed up! She has been purring and climbing all over me this evening.

Emma is making more and more doggy and human friends. Today she was playing with a chihuahua, a puggle, a Cavalier King Charles, a mini poodle mix, and an Italian greyhound. Bird sighting: while we were there we saw a pair of Western bluebirds! Not close enough to get a picture, darn it! Will take binoculars along tomorrow when we go back, and our camera, just in case.
JUDIE--we met a Bouvier (a HUGE black one, with an impressive spiked collar!) at the dog park. His name: VADER! LOL :oD
We also met a nice lady who rescues racing greyhounds, and one of her gorgeous dogs. He used to be raced in Mexico, but is GREATLY enjoying his retirement! This wonderful lady has several more retired greyhounds besides the one we met. She should be nominated for sainthood.
We did go to a movie today, and we really enjoyed it: "Larry Crowne" with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. I recommend it! Five stars!
Oh, joy! Tonight Hubby took me to our favorite Chinese restaurant for dinner--YUM!!! Lots of leftovers, too!
Well, I'm pretty tired, so think I'll hit the hay. Since it's already tomorrow back East,I'll say

SHIRLEY, don't be surprised if more bruises show up. Hubby eventually looked as if I had beaten his entire leg and foot with one of Wanda's railroad ties! He's looking good now, though. No bruises, and almost all of the swelling has gone down. He's about 95% recovered.

While the cam was coming up I glanced at the OC comments. They are trying to find someone to petition for the removal of "the vine", "so we can see better". I don't see that happening with the NCTC philosophy of letting nature take its course.

MARGY, do you have Meese in WV ? I never hear of Moose sightings here. Recently one of my SIL's coworkers found a very old elk skeleton out in the country. Seems elk and moose both disappeared when "we" drove the American Natives out.

Beautiful day at Loch of the Lowe's. Lots of bird activity out over the water. Can't tell if the male is out there looking for fish, but think the bigger bird flitting around probably is him.
