GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!---MEGAN--MAGPIE & DEB---I have been watching BELLE & LIB a good while-----same ole same 'moving sticks'---ho!---I watched earlier--LIB was movin' sticks & BELLE flew in -- practically pushing LIB out of the nest----grabbed the stick & began redoing every thing LIB had done!!

and we wondered why HEIDY aka MIRACLE was pushing parents out of nest, etc---

normabyrd said...

DEB--Wishing you a fast day---

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Normabyrd, Lib still hasn't learned to do what Belle says I guess! I was just remembering how he will sit in the nest for a long time and then start working around about 30 seconds before Belle flies in.

Howdy Pals...
Just read through the blog.
Thinking of Judie and Frank, and Lynn's sister Gail and the other family illness with cancer...so sorry to hear of all this, have all in my prayers.

Nice to see the Captain's greetings, and to see Anne-Marie, and of course, all the rest of your posts.

I got to find the pillows...need sleep badly !

Best Wishes for a Good Day....find some RED to wear if you can

I would say more but I am too slam wore out.

Glad you husband is enjoying the work Megan - and I have a functional vacuum cleaner you can have, might tide you over for a bit.
I hate vacuuming also! But I hate dusting even more!

xoxo TTFN Go see the Momsters Album if you missed the Eagle Visits.... Cheers ! ♥

Ms Bookworm said...

Good morning, everyone!

Looks like I've shown up between eagle visits! Hope they come back again so I get a chance to see them! Glad to know they're busy doing some nestorations, but it's too bad they're bickering. Hope that's resolved soon!

It's still dark here in SoCal, and it's promising to be another real scorcher today. They're predicting 101 for Anaheim, with lousy air quality because of the 4 fires that are burning up in the L.A. area. Glad I'm not real close to them! It's only 65 outside right now, so I have a really strong fan in front of the open patio slider, sucking cooler air into the house. It was 88 in here last night at 11 pm. Cooler is good!!!!

Hope you guys are having a good morning. Have Judie and Frank in my prayers, also Lynn's sister Gail and her BIL Glen.

floralgirl said...

Ha ha- don't worry, they aren't bickering too bad, Lib just forgot that Belle is in charge!
Hello Norma, Deb, Sharon, and Andrea.
Sweet dreams, Margy:)
Off to cut flowers....

Ms Bookworm said...

Sweet dreams, Margy! Hope you get a good rest. I'll check out the latest pictures, and search for something red to wear today.
Deb, hope your day is a good one--by the way, TGIF!

I think I'm going to run and get a load of laundry going, before it's too hot to survive a trip into the garage. Be right back!

Sad News . . .

It will be a tough day. We lost one of our seniors in a car accident last night. She was not in my class, but it is so sad when a young person is taken away like this.

CCHS Teen Killed

Ms Bookworm said...

Oh, Shirley, I'm SO sorry to hear about the accident last night! It just seems so wrong when we lose someone so young! What a shame. I'll be praying for you, her family and friends, and for all involved today.

hedgie said...

Good cloudy morning all! HEAVY rain here during the early hours---Megan, did you get dumped on? Hope so!

Bill, been wondering where you have been! Glad to have you back!! Here's the link for the albums---click on photos on left and look for the album dated July-Aug '09:

hedgie said...

Shirley, such a tragedy....what an awful way for the kids to start the school year.

Wanda, 81 situation yesterday afternoon was a fatal accident--driver of a Stroehmann's truck wrecked and he died.

hedgie said...

Shirley, my moms' best friends (our next door neighbors when I was a teen) who were here for her b-day celebration, live in Amissville...I've been there once, but didn't realize it was so close to Culpeper! Know it's going to be a really rough day for everyone at school today....God Bless you all.

hedgie said...

Good captures of our lovely pair, Margy!! Thanks for posting.

floralgirl said...

Rain?? no, we have had none yet.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

It has been trying to rain in Bedford this morning.

Mits said...

Good Friday a.m., everyone

Mits said...

oh Shirley, such awful news:(

Ms Bookworm said...

Margy,
Great pictures of our eagle pair! Thanks so much for posting them. It's really good to see those two again.
Megan,
I'm hoping and praying that you get some real rain today! 22 drops just doesn't cut it.

Our sprinklers just went on out front, and I'm trying to restrain myself--I have such an urge to go run through them!

hedgie said...

Megan, I am so sorry....I kid you not, it was absolutely torrential here...woke me out of a sound sleep, it was so hard and loud. Knocked out satellites for half-an-hour.

Mits, how is your weather??

hedgie said...

Go ahead, Andy...do it!!! You're a kid at heart!!! It would feel SO good!

Ms Bookworm said...

Doesn't look like any remote chance of rain here, and the color of the sky is nasty from the smoke. Hope they can contain those fires some time soon! Not a hint of a marine layer; the sun is bright already.
One load of laundry just went into the dryer; it nearly killed me to have to turn that thing on! If it wouldn't take all day to dry one load, I would've put it on the 'no heat' cycle! (It's running on 'delicate'.)
It's going to be nice to go to class tonight and be air conditioned for a few hours!
Hubby took the car with the A/C that's working today. It was 106 yesterday in Ontario where he works, and no trees big enough to create shade in the parking lot!
He was in awful shape when he got home yesterday. Hope he's better today; the heat's too rough on him.

Ms Bookworm said...

Lynn, you've just about talked me into it! I'll wait till the back yard sprinklers start, though. Don't want to give our extremely nosy neighbor across the street any reason to bug me! He'll probably think I've gone bonkers!

Ms Bookworm said...

Lynn, while you're at it, please send some of your rain this way, to clear the air!

paula eagleholic said...

Morning, all. Thanks for the running commentary on Lib and Belle's visit this morning...felt like I was there.

Andrea - so sorry about all your heat. It has finally cooled down here a tad.

We got rain overnight and this morning...had to dry off 2 soaking wet dogs after they went out this morning. Megan, hope you get some rain today.

Shirley - so sorry about your senior student.

Prayers for Judie's Frank today.

Margy, have a good sleep.

Bill - Welcome back!

paula eagleholic said...

Bill - are you a member of our Momsters group yet? You can just click on my name and send me your email address...I'll send you an invite if you're not.

Mits said...

Lyn, it is mostly cloudy, humid and breezy here this a.m.

Ms Bookworm said...

I actually think I'm going to vacuum the house this morning! We have one with a HEPA filter, and maybe then I'll be able to stop sneezing! Wish I lived closer to you--when I'm done, one of you guys could borrow it. It works so good it almost tears the carpet off the floor! You know, if you guys need new vacuums, you might check out what's at the Salvation Army or Goodwill stores. Sometimes you can get a really good deal there!
Out here, it pays to look at the ones near Villa Park or Newport Beach (high rent neighborhoods!).
No kidding--you'd be surprised! A few of the bigger stores here even have lots of nice furniture. Hey, why not, with the economy circling the drain?

hedgie said...

Wnada, wonderful BIG article about milkweed and monarchs by the extension agent in the Journal!!!

hedgie said...

You're right, Andrea. Wealthy folks give really goosd stuff to Goodwill, etc. Margy and another good friend of mine get a LOT of good stuff at them! I've given them lots of good clothes through the years!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hey, Bill, welcome back!

I'm gonna go get some quick breakfast, and some ICED coffee, and I'll be back in a few...

Ms Bookworm said...

Yeah, Lynn,
Just gotta get a little creative when it comes to saving. We have friends who have picked up all kinds of like-new furniture curbside in Newport Beach! Lots of rich folks apparently just re-decorate completely when they move from one upscale condo to another!

Ms Bookworm said...

...Off to get some breakfast really quickly; BRB...

Mema Jo said...

Good Red Friday Morning All!
Lynn, Wanda may have written that Milkweed article for the Journal!

Great comments about our royal couple's visit this morning! They deserve to have a good viewing audience

Shirley - Prayers for you to help your students today - those kind of loses are difficult to accept.

Welcome back Bill - hope all is well with you.
Now we need to find IN - Dave!

I have Frank & Judie in my thoughts.

13 y.o. local boy who was pulled from the Potomac on Tues. in a drowning incident has passed away. So sad for family.

Ms Bookworm said...

Paula,
So glad you got some rain to cool down your weather a bit! Your wet dogs have me missing our 'Molly Mudpie', who we lost to cancer a couple of years ago. She was a German Shepherd/Golden Retriever/Chow mix, with the emphasis on the Goldie. She LOVED to get wet and muddy! Good memories!

Ms Bookworm said...

Lynn,
So sorry to hear that the 13 year old boy passed away! Prayers for the family and his friends. My heart goes out to them!

Ms Bookworm said...

How interesting! Here we were talking about thrift stores, and while I was eating my breakfast, Good Morning America did a segment about buying groceries at stores that sell dented cans, and almost- outdated merchandise! Truth be told, we do a lot of shopping at the 99 cent store! Ours even has produce, milk, and dairy products.
You can get a large green bell pepper, a large red bell pepper, a large orange bell pepper, and a large yellow bell pepper all in the same package, for 99 cents!
The fancy colored ones would each be $4.99/lb. in the grocery store!
Almost everything they sell is perfectly good, it's just closer to the expiration date. Can't be beat for a bargain price! I've even gotten some really nice houseplants there, too.

Hi Jim and Deb!

Okay, gang....any ideas on what I should wear to a Christian rock concert in a church????

floralgirl said...

Clothes.

hedgie said...

Loretta, you're under a storm watch/warning!

hedgie said...

Heavy rain moving in....flash flood watch 2pm-2am for many metro areas.

deb said...

Good one, Megan! I would think jeans or anything comfy would be fine!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Lynn, I would recommend a do-rag and tie-dyed T-shirt! :)

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Megan, your answer was better than mine!

floralgirl said...

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

hedgie said...

Ha, ha, Megan!!!! Dress/skirt? Slacks? Jeans?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Me either! I would really suggest something casual though!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Jim & Deb,
Good to hear from you guys. I'm afraid my mind's on something else right now, though. Got an e-mail from our daughter, and she's got some tough problems to work through. I'm going to spend some time with her right now, and will be back here later. Please say some prayers that her situation works out OK. Thanks!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I think jeans and a nice shirt!

floralgirl said...

Jeans for sure. Or a mini skirt.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Not to be confused with a not-nice shirt!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

OMG - THIS IS TOO MUCH FUN!

floralgirl said...

She's gonna be sorry she asked us smart alecs..

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

They are calling for T-storms in Bluefield this evening. Don't know how willing I am to sit out in the rain when Andrew is not even in the band anymore! More will be revealed. Now my attire for tonight will consist of a pair of jean shorts, wife-beater, Beaver Band T-shirt with the sleeves cut out and a pair of sandals.

hedgie said...

Jeans would certainly be most comfortable......but seems maybe not appropriate in a church...???? Guess I'm just too old school--and too old for this! The things my daughters talk me in to...!!

hedgie said...

Okay, you younguns talked me into jeans...and a nice shirt! Sharon, what's a wife-beater?

Oh, Andy, hope it's not too serious. Will pray!!

deb said...

I am not sure how lunch can pass so quickly, just about time to head back.

hedgie said...

Got a letter from Rep. Capito!!!

"Issues have arisen around the nesting site of a pair of bald eagles. DHS wants to cut an access road....not scheduled to be built until 2014. A spokesman for the department said it had been designed in consultation with eagle experts at the US Fish and Wildlife Service and would not disturb the birds. Currently there is no legislation under consideration in the House of Representatives regarding the relocation of the DHS facility. As this issue moves forward, I will be sure to take your views into consideration."

Blah-blah-blah. More lip service w/o getting the real concern!

floralgirl said...

Here, I found some shoes for you to wear....

hedgie said...

You want me to break my neck, Megan????? Haven't worn anything that high since I was 30!!!

Mema Jo said...

Don't you dare! You'll trip and break you neck! At least your feet will have fallen arches by midnight!

lol

Mits said...

blah, blah, blah is right, Lynn.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

A wife-beater is one of those thin sleeveless undershirts that men wear.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well, and I guess women too since I have one on!

ceil said...

Afternoon everyone.
Lynn you always look nice and wear what is appropiate.
Megan and Sharon you girls are so funny. Like the first reply clothes.Nice shoes we should all get a pair to wear to Open House. See who breaks their neck first.
Lynn hear we go round the mulberry bush with that comment.

hedgie said...

Oh, no, Jo! Fallen arches along witha broken neck!!
Thanks, Ceil...I wish!
Yes, it is just more lip-service...no one intends to do anything to protect the eagles' habitat there. Well, lets send the eagles an invitation to move. That would make the pols happy.

hedgie said...

Speaking of pols...wonder where Ms. Norma is today?!

ceil said...

Megan it is starting to rain heavy here. It is not a storm it is steady rain. Will try to push some your way.
Lynn your are right. Money is more important than the eagles.

Hello Eagle Pals.

We have good news and sad news on here today...Prayers from me for both. So very sad when a young one is lost or ill or in trouble.

Good thing that we are able to be together to share the sadness and the happiness.

I'm heading out soon for a first school pick-up of the season for James...and we might just visit Good Will...!

Ceil, the only advantage to an Oreck might be that it's lightweight!!

Need prayers again for friends' BF Ken...he is back in the hospital with an infection. Sure hope it's just his incison line and not in his bypass grafts.

Be safe traveling up and down the road, Margy! You know what 9 is like!

Speaking of roads...saw a piece on the news last evening where the Martin Luther King Blvd. sign in DC has it spelled Marin..and has been there for years w/o complaint. Don't remember which intersection it was, but since it is one of my shortcuts when I'm in the city, REALLY surprised that I haven't noticed it! Guess I just don't pay attention to signs when I know where I am.

NatureNut said...

Thanks, Helen. You've got HOT stuff there. It stopped rainng here now and getting a little brighter. We'll see how long that lasts!! ☺

Discovery Gets "Go" for Launch
Fri, 28 Aug 2009 05:28:51 PM UTC-0100

The mission management team has approved launch teams to continue with the countdown toward an 11:59 p.m. EDT liftoff to start space shuttle Discovery's STS-128 mission to the International Space Station. That includes giving the "go" to begin tanking operations as soon as the forecast for fueling improves.

Currently, we are "no-go" to begin filling Discovery's external fuel tank. Forecasters are calling for a 30 percent chance of weather prohibiting tanking because of a threat of lightning within the first hour of fueling. The forecast has to be 20 percent or less to begin tanking.

The mission management team also reports that all the testing and analysis of Discovery's fill-and-drain valve during the last two days gives them a high degree of confidence the valve is working.

The shuttle team has approved procedures in case there is a similar issue with the position sensor on the hydrogen fill-and-drain valve.

The plan includes being able to open and close the valve, or cycle it, two times during the tanking process if the valve position indicator sensor doesn't work. Teams would use alternate means, including monitoring pressure in the system, to provide confidence the valve is closed for launch.

For launch time, forecasters are calling for a 60 percent chance of favorable weather.

The earliest the filling of Discovery's external fuel tank with 535,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen can begin is 2:34 p.m.

NASA TV's tanking commentary will begin at 2:30 p.m. and can be accessed at www.nasa.gov/ntv.

floralgirl said...

That's okay, Margy, my vacuum is fixable, and I'm just stubborn enough to fix it. But thanks:)
I see rain on the radar all around us, on either side of us, but not raining at all here, not one lousy stinking drop so far:( Going back out to water. And no, I'm not wearing those heels.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, everyone,

Oh, golly, I have yet another prayer request for you all. Just got a phone call from my SIL a few minutes ago, and she was rushing Jake, the bulldog pup, to the vet (a bulldog specialist) in Riverside. Jake wasn't acting like himself this morning, didn't want to get out of his bed, kinda mopey, and then he threw up blood!
Not the black stuff that's old blood, but bright red blood! Now that I've heard from her, I'm really concerned for BOTH of them, because she's driving like a maniac on the freeway! Sounds to me like Jake got a bone sliver or something sharp in his stomach. Hope SIL slows down enough to get there in one piece! Please say some prayers for both of them, you guys! (For my daughter, too, by the way. Her situation is a really tough one, but can't talk about it here. Prayer will help, though--always does!) Geez, I'm not EVEN going to ask "What next?"
:o[ ...Lynn, I will pray for your friend's BF, Ken.

Mits said...

Andrea, prayers are on the way for you and yours.

Ms Bookworm said...

Thanks, Helen,
I feel a little better already. There is NOTHING like the power of prayer! I really appreciate it.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, everyone,

My SIL called me back, and sorry to say, I have some really bad news--little Jake didn't make it.
He went really quickly. The vet said a blood vessel in his lung ruptured, and there was nothing they could do quickly enough to save him. She's really upset, and so is my BIL, so please pray for both of them...for Hubby and me, too--we're really going to miss that special little pup.

hedgie said...

Most definitely the prayers are flowing aorund here.

So was the rain. Just had a heck of a downpour....everything is standing in water....dog kennel is flooded. HAd some thunder, too. It got as black as night. Satellites were out for about 15 mins.

Mits, IF the launch goes off---which still sounds iffy---bet no one around here will be able to see a thing!
Skins game might be a wash, too! Hope I get home in time for at least the 2nd half, if they play.

Megan...got rain??

hedgie said...

My youngest called a little while ago---their old freezer died and they lost everything. Probably about $3-400 worth of stuff. And she said the stench is just awful, even after Shannon got everything out of the house. Of course, he still has to clean up the run-off. Yuck. Been there once with a deep freeze full of our annual beef. Gross!

Andrea, prayers for your daughter and for the poor pups parents. How sad!

Megan, got any rain yet? Hope so! It rain so hard last night and we really had a clean up today. We had lots of limbs and leaves down. Also, dirt washed from the neighbors yard onto our front lawn. Just mowed over it and then washed it in.

Valve Working Well as Tanking Moves Ahead
Fri, 28 Aug 2009 07:38:14 PM UTC-0100

Tanking of space shuttle Discovery is continuing and going well at Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The filling operations have transitioned to reduced fast fill on LH2 and have a good "closed" indication on the LH2 inboard fill and drain valve. Tanking operations are expected to conclude at about 5:45 p.m. EDT.

Liftoff of Discovery on the STS-128 mission remains on schedule for 11:59 p.m. EDT tonight and the weather remains the primary concern. The forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of acceptable conditions. Meteorologists are watching for signs of anvil clouds and thunderstorms within 20 miles of the Shuttle Landing Facility.

deb said...

Our poor Gabby is doomed to never fly, I think. He was released again yesterday, only to be rescued from the ground and put back in the tower. Rereleased today to be chased by an immature bald eagle, a 2 year old and had to be saved again. This time from the eagle. Janie took off after the eagle who was about to attack Gabby. Janie fell down, hurt her hip and is limping around. Gabby escaped the eagle to crash in the water and had to be once again rescued. I am not sure what will be next for our little Gabby.

Mits said...

oh dear, Deb,,,,that Gabby is something else:(

Ms Bookworm said...

Well, at least something really good happened to me today, besides all of you guys, that is! There was a female Hooded Oriole on the hummingbird feeder this afternoon!
Haven't seen even one up until now, since the one that hit my window and died. I even got 3 or 4 pictures of it! The Anna's hummer wasn't real thrilled to see it, but I sure was. It must've sat there for 5 whole minutes! I thought all of them had migrated south, but guess not.

deb said...

Mary said it was so scary to watch and the eagle is still there. They tried to scare it away a few times, but it is right near the tower now. I will call for an update in a little while.

ceil said...

Gosh Deb. Gabby come on you will love flying.

Ms Bookworm said...

Boy, that was weird--it took about 4 or 5 minutes for my last comment to get saved...
Deb, poor Gabby!!--and poor Janie, too! My oh my, he sure is having more than his share of problems lately. Glad you guys were able to rescue him, though. Sure hope next time works out better for the poor guy!
Hope Janie is OK, too! Is her hand doing better? Prayers for both her AND Gabby!

little birdies in nest....sounds like rain too

Ms Bookworm said...

I noticed that too, Helen! Wonder what they're looking for. There's no food there; must be after twigs, maybe.

Ms Bookworm said...

Here's a picture of the female Hooded Oriole. Turned out a little fuzzy because I took it through the patio screendoor.

ceil said...

Andrea He needed some refreshment in the heat. Share hummers.
Deb hope Janie is alright. She sure loves her birds.
Paula have a good time tonight.

ceil said...

Lynn your blue thingy didn't work.

Mema Jo said...

The Hooded Oriole has great marking on its back. Glad he came back for you.
Now about Gabby!!! What's to become of him is yet to be known! We can hope and pray for the best... or someone is going to have to give him a home.
Not a drop of rain after all those black clouds..... Maybe later.
I need to eat some dinner - I sure am late..

Mits said...

I'm hungry too...bbl.

Ms Bookworm said...

Lynn,
Does your daughter's homeowner's insurance cover the loss of the food in the freezer? Seems like it might, up to a certain reasonable dollar amount. Sorry to hear about that! What a miserable mess to have to clean up.

Ms Bookworm said...

I've heard that if you put vanilla extract in water and wash out the freezer with that, it will help to eliminate the rotten food odor. Also, if you go to the pet department at Wal-Mart and buy a box of aquarium filter charcoal and put it in the freezer in 2 or 3 bowls, it will absorb some of the smell.

Ms Bookworm said...

Yikes, Hubby will be home soon, and I need to figure out something for dinner. Will be back much later tonight, after school. That will probably be about 10:30 pm pacific time. Will you ladies be partying in your jammies? See you then.

Lolly said...

Oh, yes, we will be partying in our jammies. Got the food ready, Mits?

Well, Jack and I were going to go out to eat. We drove into town, Babes had folks sitting outside and Frisco's had no parking. We came on home and going to make hamburgers. Did not want to drive to Fort Worth and we were both in shorts. Wanted casual!!

Seems like there was something else I wanted to comment on but forgot. LOL Need to make a list!

ceil said...

Lolly even with the list I forget.

Lolly said...

Uh-oh!

Mema Jo said...

I am listening to NASA & watching you two talk! lol
Also I am playing card games on the PC

Not much else going on..

Hoping that Janie's fall is not so painful. Will hear from Deb later I'm sure.

Astronauts Suit-Up for Tonight's Launch
Fri, 28 Aug 2009 10:41:55 PM UTC-0100

The crew of space shuttle Discovery is donning their orange partial pressure suits as they get ready to head out to Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida where the shuttle stands ready to launch. Liftoff is scheduled for tonight at 11:59 EDT. Meteorologists at Kennedy and at mission control in Houston are keeping close eyes on the weather, but the forecast remains 60 percent "go" and the forecasters are looking for the conditions to improve as the night continues.

Mits said...

wow the sunset at the Cape tonight is beautiful

Mema Jo said...

I was looking at the sunset also, Mits
He just said Danny wasn't affecting the launch.

I was thinking of Frank's procedure and wondering how Judie is doing!

Mits said...

Mits said...

Mema Jo said...

I'm sure they all hope that tonight is the night...... Good looking bunch!

Mema Jo said...

They have some send off fans.

Mema Jo said...

I wonder if that is like our Eagle Express.... We get just as excited as

Diego all alone in the nest.

Back in a few

Mema Jo said...

HEY NOW! There is Judie.......

stronghunter said...

Hi Judie.

Judie said...

Hi everyone,

Did a quick check on Diego and had to let you know he was alone then tried to catch up a bit.

First, Andy I am so sorry about Jake. Really is so very difficult to lose a pet -- best to all.

Second, hope Janie is not too badly damaged and that a happy solution can be found for Gabby.

Third, Frank had to have two stents implanted inside the two existing stents which had all but clogged up. One of the bypass areas is 70% blocked but no intervention today -- cardiac surgeon said he wouldn't touch it. 2 1/2 hr procedure. Got there at 6:30am and got home about 7:45pm. He's very, very tired and I am just tired.

Tried to catch up a little. Will finish tomorrow. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers.

Hugs,
Judie

stronghunter said...

Thanks for stopping in, Judie. Rest well tonight.

Mema Jo said...

Good night Judie and good to hear from you. That was a big day for you and Frank - rest well.

Judie said...

Thanks, Shirley. Hope you had a good last day of the first week.

I'm so tired I almost forgot to turn out my light and leave the night light on for others.

Goodnight everyone.

Judie said...

oops, goodnight Jo

floralgirl said...

Hope Frank is resting comfortably, Judie. Long day for both of you.
How do I find that NASA page? Hubby is hogging tv with football:(

floralgirl said...

Never mind, I guess I found it. NASA tv, right?

stronghunter said...

Hey, I am putting in one of those automatic night lights that comes on by itself.

Also, I'm taking the key from under the mat and installing one of those keypads. Everyone has a password, so we are good to go.

God bless, Judie.

Mema Jo said...

Did you find it ok, Megan. I have been watching - they are getting everyone seated in!

Good thinking Shirley.. We may as well be up-to-date with things.

floralgirl said...

Yeah, I found it.

Lolly said...

I am watching on TV. Hope it goes tonight.

Jack and I had hamburgers on the patio. Loving this weather, supposed to get down into the 60's for the next several days. Wahoo!
We added hatch peppers to the meat tonight. Very good! Then we walked around and admired our hard work. LOL We love the yard!!

Oh, and took a picture at my kitchen window. I'll go load it now.

BBL

Mits said...

you can right click for a full screen too....glad things went well Judie...rest up

stronghunter said...

I'm having a little trouble keeping up with everything. I hope Janie is okay and that Gabby finally gets to fly away.

Sorry about the little pet, Andy.

I do hope the shuttle gets to fly away this time, too.

I have a purring kitty on my lap. George isn't always a lap cat, but he is content to curl on my lap tonight.

Something mysterious is going on with George. I think he is figuring out how to open the cabinets. I keep hearing them slam when he is alone in the kitchen. Haven't seen anything yet. Good thing the cat food is not in there!

Thanks for the kind words today. It was a subdued day at school.

ceil said...

Judie hope you and Frank can get some rest. Glad things went fairly well.

ceil said...

Shirley glad things went well for you today also.

ceil said...

I am trying to keep up with the Oriole game O's winning so far. The Redskin game. Redskins just tied it up at half time.
The Kennedy memorial and Nasa.

floralgirl said...

Is liftoff stil supposed to be 11:59? And aren't I supposed to be watching this from OC?

ceil said...

Yep Megan. they are talking about ice and showers

Lolly said...

Shirley, that is so rough to loose a student. Rest up this weekend.
Laurel is having such a hard time since her new principal is being so rough.

Have loaded a picture of a hummingbird at my kitchen window. Will have to try to get a better picture. It is in the Hawkwood blog. Remember to double click to enlarge the picture.

stronghunter said...

Ceil, let me get this straight. . . you are watching four events on television (or the computer) and keeping up with the blog. Lord, woman.

I'm watching the Kennedy memorial and playing a word game, but already messed up on one of my turns.

Mema Jo said...

You sure are multi-tasking, Ceil.

Yes, Megan and why didn't you leave for OC yet?

Hope Lynn is enjoying her Christian Youth group!

Mema Jo said...

I am thinking about Lynn's chocolate cake with PB icing.......

floralgirl said...

I'm having problems keeping up, was also watching the Kennedy memorial, and NASA at the same time. That is a long time to be just sitting in the shuttle.

floralgirl said...

I honestly don't know why I did not leave for OC earlier.

Mema Jo said...

Lolly who is Pedro Garcia Millan.
Can you read his comment on your hummer?

Mema Jo said...

Especially in that position...

floralgirl said...

He must be a spammer

Lolly said...

I tried to remove his comment. I can only read a little of it. He certainly put it on fast.

ceil said...

Shirley Watching launch on the computer. O's, Redskins and Memorial back and forth on tv

stronghunter said...

Made a few changes in plans today. Most students were well-behaved and respectful. They had a memorial service tonight. I hope it went well. I expect it was a good outlet for the kids.

A lot of them have trouble understanding how they should handle such a difficult situation. Many of them kept busy making plans for the memorial and signing their names to memorials posted on the walls and bulletin boards. That was good.

Lolly, I am sorry that the principal is so tough. Laurel has enough to deal with without that. She needs support; all of us do. I am lucky to have a nice principal. I don't always agree with him, but I like him and would not be afraid to say I don't agree.

Mits said...

Megan, yes and yes.....I'm just doing NASA on puter...HGTV on TV:)

Mits said...

SPLIT COMING...

Evening Everyone! Just checking in and out---gotta shampoo hair for tomorrow and hit the hay.

Lolly said...

Ok, I was successful at removing his comment.

I do have a friend on facebook who lives in Honduras. When he comments it is usually in spanish. Why am I his friend...well his wife I have known since she was a baby. She is now about to have her first child and she said Hernan will be posting the pictures.
