Looking at Loch of the Lowes cam. I think someone asked about water at that site. There is water. Sometimes there is an operator who moves that camera around.
Yeah, it did. This one, though, I have yet to see fly out. The post on that page said it has fledged but, if he has, he does not want to go it again yet.
I thought only one had fledged. I was watching a few days ago, and they had the cam on the one that had fledged. I kind of think we might have seen the fledging of Chick #2.
The easiest way to tell the chick from the adult is the feathers. The adult has solid feathers, chicks have scalloped edges. Also, adult has yellow eye, chick orange.

Hi Y'all. It's been a while since I posted. I'm doing much better now with new meds. My wife was off work last week and worked my tail off. lol We spent most of the week trimming limbs off the maple trees so I can mow without ducking. Summer is keeping me busy with all the yard work. We have decided to stay here a while longer since I can breathe now. Didn't really want to move anyway. I'll be lurking. Hope everyone is having a nice day.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... Lot of osprey action this morning:) They are beautiful birds, aren't they? Do you remember last year, or was it the year before, Suz spotted a moose walking below the Finny Land nest? That was cool!
RED...nice to hear from you today. So glad you are feeling well enough to mow those 4 acres again. Are you still using oxygen?

SHIRLEY---I agree---I think the OSPREY FINLAND MOM--sent her CHICKS to 'MS MANNERS SCHOOL'!---they are so polite--& take turns eating!!----ho!--FAVORITE SITE--
Went outside for a few minutes. Now it looks like the adult at the Lowe's site is eating and feeding a young one. I hope the one getting fed is the one who got left out earlier.
Loch of Lowes--I like it too. Really good clear view. Lots of activity today. I do hope adult is taking care of the chick that was getting left out. Do you know?
Ahhh, a day with no classes! I do have to drive up to the high desert to check on our house up there, and pay the association dues, though. At least I don't have to go to school too! Am waiting for one of the auto parts stores around here to open-- one of my brake lights is out on the car, and don't want to make that long a trip on the freeway without fixing it first. Hope it's not as complicated as replacing a headlamp! (No wonder they tell you to replace both headlamps at the same time-- they have to tear apart the whole front end to do it!)
Guess I missed seeing Hidey again this morning. Hope you guys told the rascal I said "howdy"!
Oh--before I forget, I spotted a sharp-shinned hawk on the wire above our yard yesterday! Haven't seen one in a couple of years. No wonder the birds got really quiet all of a sudden!
Good Morning, Stronghunter! Still have a 'Mockingbird fireplace'? I really envy you-- the mockers around here are a couple of yards away; can't hear them as well.
Happy to report that a guy is coming out tomorrow morning to fix our refrigerator so it doesn't spontaneously combust! I'll be glad when that's taken care of. Norma, what's your situation? Haven't caught up on the blog yet-- hope everything's falling into place.
Haven't heard the mockingbird fireplace today. Hear the Carolina wren tree every night. They are noisy little birds! There are three large evergreens in my neighbor's yard. The branches are so thick, you can't see the birds, but it sounds like a great many in there.
Must be something in the air. I had to buy a new refrigerator yesterday. Unexpected expense for sure!!!! Had to get a new computer Monday. I should not be operating heavy machinery!!
Well, then keep that air down your way, I cannot afford any appliance purchases right now.... Hello all:) pretty day here, hope everybody has a good day!
Hi, Wanda, There are quite a few different critters up at the desert house-- LOTS of California Quail, Kildeer, all kinds of ducks and coots migrating through twice a year, and up there we get Robins! We also have brush rabbits and jackrabbits, and, sorry to say, quite a few coyotes. Ten years ago or so, we used to get roadrunners occasionally, but not any more. It's getting too built up around there. Still could see an occasional Mohave rattlesnake, though. Thankfully, not recently!
The Silver Lakes development where the house is has lots of green lawns and flowers & trees like any other neighborhood, but once you leave there, it's typical desert landscape. Colors are all grey, biege, and sage green. Lots of tumbleweeds, some cottonwood trees, and sand everywhere. Joshua trees, too. Around the nearby town of Oro Grande are a lot of alfalfa fields, which are a beautiful green. Once they cut them for hay, they aren't as pretty, but they can get a couple of hay crops before winter. Still see nighthawks flying around the street lights at night. They're fun to watch. They catch an amazing number of bugs. When you drive the 14 miles on Route 66 to Victorville to make a grocery run, you often see red-tailed hawks, jackrabbits, and ground squirrels. The best part of being up there at night is watching the night sky! With very little light coming from nearby cities, you see a kazillion stars! One night we saw about 7 falling stars in less than 10 minutes! Awesome.
Wow, Andrea!! I want to come there with you. You make it sound so wonderful! One of these days I am going to make it west, before I die. That is the first thing on my bucket list!
Keep hoping, Sissy, and you'll make it! Hubby & I finally got to the UK last summer, after wishing for 38 years--but California's not nearly so far away!
Omigosh, almost forgot to tell you guys-- yesterday as I was driving towards the freeway to go to school, there was an egret in a neighbor's yard! One of the perks of living 2 blocks from the Santa Ana River!
Wish you all kinds of success with the picture contests! Let us know if we can vote for you somewhere. And please let us know how to get a calendar with your pictures in it. I'd love to buy one!
Morning, gals and guys! So good to see Red!! Glad you are feeling better and that you are going to have to move anytime soon!! Know how much you didn't want to do that. Keep on keepin' on, man! Caught up on blog.....so glad that still cam is working again...I can keep it up as long as I want! Missing the Loch of Lowe's action....that is one of the cams that messes up my puter so bad that I can't access it...wierd! My little Cinnamon got dive-bombed by wren parents this am---they had little ones on the deck steps---she walked into her yard and they went after her! No open wounds, but (Sissy, you can appreciate this) those short little legs running and ear flapping was a comical sight to see!
Good Morning All! I see you really have to be an early bird to catch a glimpse of Hidey - glad some of you did! Red Good to see you again.. You keep in touch with us more often!
Andrea, desert place sounds very peaceful and lovely. YOu need to spend more time there for R&R! Bob, great pics, as always. We have so many talented folks among us!
It’s great to hear from you, and it’s reassuring to know that there are so many people who are doing everything possible to try to protect the important resources and wildlife affected by this project. We haven’t received a response from the comment we submitted in January on behalf of the Maryland Native Plant Society. The Federal Highway Administrative should make a decision soon, however, regarding whether to allow the road to be built as proposed, and I believe they’re supposed to respond to all comments in that decision document. I hope they take the natural resource concerns seriously and require, at a minimum, all possible protective measures if they allow the road to be built. The better decision would of course be a different access point altogether and a greater emphasis on alternative transit.
Best,
Melanie

excellent, Lynn...seems like more normal people want to get involved more than the politicians...oh my bad, the senators are getting ready for their summer break:)
Hi, Lynn, Wish I could spend more time on R&R, but too much going on lately. Just noticed that one of the heron fledglings is sitting on our block wall right outside my window. He's a cutie! Love his bright red eyes!
I told her what Bill had learned, but that we are waiting for further clarification/confirmation about that, as well as waiting to hear from all the other agencies/people we have contacted.
Bob You did it again! The pics of the Osprey Family are awesome! I love the one of the red-winged blackbird in flight with the osprey! The Egrets are so pure looking with the white feathers! THANKS!
Gotta tell you my baby's story from yesterday. After her training finished for the day (in LA) she decided to go to a Weight Watcher's meeting...she didn't know how far it was from the hotel so took off walking to it....three miles later, she arrived! Started walking back, but finally ended up catching a bus...when she got back to the hotel her face was badly sunburned!! Poor girl.
Enjoyed Bob's pictures...wish one of those egrets would come visit me from time to time. They are beautiful. Last time we were in florida, I was fishing from the shore near Sanibel Island and an egret stayed with me the whole time, in hopes that he could get to my fish before I did:)
Well, I better get myself in gear; the auto parts place will open at 9, and I still gotta shower and get ready to go. At least the gas tank's already full. Need to try to beat the heat-- it's been in the 100s up at the desert at times this week. Bob, the Osprey pictures are just beautiful! Red, so glad you're doing so much better! (By the way, wish I had that much acreage to mow!) Hi, Paula, love your avatar! Really cool! Well, gotta run--BBL. Have a great day, everybody! TTFN :o]
Wow, wouldn't it be fantastic to finally meet some of you gals! Let's hear it for the road trip! (OOPS!) I gotta hit the road running, myself! Catch you guys later this afternoon. Have a GREAT day! :o]
I reckon it was Yang Yang at Atlanta, had a bucket of ice water, running his paw through it and dumped it on himself. He was up like a shot!! Too, too funny! Back to Luney now, sleeping!
Both of the flamingo chicks are in view. You can't be certain they are the chicks until they stand - their long legs is a dead give away. Other then that they look almost like ducks.
Good afternoon! Jack is over in the trailer reading and possibly napping. Laurel and the boys have headed to the pool. I am having quiet time here in the cabin. My computer is not getting the signal at the trailer, have to get on over here.
We had a great swim this morning. Great waves for boogie boards! Sand castle #2 was fantastic! Wonder if it will still be there when we go back? #1 was still there yesterday afternoon, but this morning someone in a beach buggy had destroyed it! Oh, well, such is life!☺
RED.....was great to hear from you and know you have not had to move yet. So glad you are doing better. We LOVE good news!!
Off to check on the bathing beauties at the pool, then think I will settle down to give myself a manicure! Digging in the sand is good for the soul, but hard on the nails.
Just checking in for a minute. It is quiet here - bet that Hidey could cause some commotion! Fixing some Honey B-Q chicken for dinner - and Jenny brought some homemade mac/cheese! The old fashion kind - not like Stouffers or Krafts! I love cheesey Mac/cheese though I will admit.
Godd Afternoon Everyone!!!Finishing up work here at Chelsea "Farmhouse". I heard and learned something new here today. Some of you who live near woods may have heard this before, but I never have. A single "Spottie" fawn was by itself walking along the edge of pond which has abundant plantlife. It did nibble some leaves, but bleated as it went along like a lamb! Later I saw a set of twins near the house. They also nibbled some leaves and disappeared from view behind a huge holly tree. I went out & heard that same "baah or maah" again from that area.I called Greg, our top naturalist at Park & he said even if they're not totally weaned, the parents will let them roam on their own & catch up w/them later. His point was proven a few minutes ago--I went out the front of the house, heard spootie sounds for the 2nd time from the other side of field that goes down to a treelined creek. Started to video just to get that sound, & heard a snort! Mom was heading that way!!!!Don't know if she'll show up, as was dark when she entered the trees. Thanks for listening! When life gets dull and boring, I am so thankful for little new things like this to keep me going! ☺ Great pics, Bob!!! And glad to see Red on here today!!! That's All Folks!
OMG!! Went out to put some things in car & heard that Baah sound again. Further up the field, 2 does were crossing away from the tree line. I tiptoed up the edge of field which is mowed & there was little Spotty standing by the edge of the woods--had camera. It came so close to me, I could hardly keep it in frame. Maybe it thought I was Mom!!If I had a bottle, it probably would have come for a drink! Now am I gonna have to stay here all night to see if adult comes back??? Guess I'll leave them alone, but may call tomorrow & ask if they hear bleating.
Loretta, aren't they precious? I have heard them baa-ing many times. You have such a great place to work!! Lolly, glad you are having a peaceful vacation!!
George's suppertime is 5:00PM. I was already a little late. He sits looking expectantly. Eventually, he will meow loudly. For the morning feeding, he will jump in my bed and press his cold nose against my face and purr and meow loudly. It takes him awhile to adjust to my summer schedule.
From NBC 4 One person has been shot a block away from the U.S. Capitol, according to police. The shooting happened at about 5 p.m. near New Jersey and C streets NW on the Senate side of the Capitol. Police have sealed off some of the entrances to the U.S. Capitol after reports of gunfire a few blocks away. The Senate side has been placed on lockdown. Constitution Ave. between First St. NW and First St. NE is closed
Well I woke up, watched th elift off and walked Dex. Yes I am his seeing eye dog now. We do pretty well walkign and he love sit when we come upon another 4 legged canine kind of friend :-). Next week we will go spend the night at a friends about 2 hours away to see how he does with a strage environment he doens't know his way around.
Someone mentioned shelter work might break a haert. Yes at times it has a very heavy side especially for the children. Dex knew how to bring some smiles and laughter there. Other times it is a very uplifting kind of experience. Dex and I will not be strangers to the shelter it will just be on our schedule.
"depression" is why I have backed off of many a thing for a while. Need a break from heavy stuff. I think I need to travel family way but go to be sure Dex and I can get this together OK before we venture too far.
OK suppertime and relax for a while hear. Have a good evening.
I am going to Pic People to get some photos the Germany Gang had taken. We didn't get enough wallet size.
AND I am going to buy the Potter movie tickets ahead of time. I would loved to have seen the crowd at midnight - some of the fans really dress for the occasion as the characters in the movie. Even adults dress up! lol No I never have!
My Sam has been blind for 2 years now and he does fine. Now due to old age he is losing his hearing, but he still is enjoying his life. He likes walks and going in the car, lounging around and, of course, eating.
I have most of the back yard mowed, needed a "get the sweat out of my eyes" break. With all the rain, the grass is growing like crazy, usually mowing every 1 1/2 weeks this time of year, not twice a week.
Good evening all. Got home just in time to see the lift off. Jo I said the same thing when jubby told me about the shoting in DC. Red it was good to hear from you and know you are feeling better. Guess what the Post office lost our zip codes tax bill. I kept saying to jubby. Where is the tax bill. At first they said send a self addressed envelope and we will send a duplicate. Not going to happen.
Has anyone ever thought about how our messages might be interpreted by a newbie.
Memo Jo's husband, Marvin, has been sleeping on the porch but at least she's feeding him. Then there's Shirley and George -- I'm not even going there as I imagine George imitating animal sounds to get attention. Just a laugh!
Wish I had fawns. Also never gave a thought to how they communicate. Fascinating story.
Good launch -- lots of people now up there watching the world go by.
Glo - Dex will be really good for you!
Floralgirl has the D.C. shooting info. correct and, yes, just another day in D.C.
Just finished a yummy diiner: corn-on-the-cob (Silver Queen, of course!), 'maters and cantaloupe, and some ham. No vanilla ice cream for the melon--don't have any!
LOL, Judie!!! You're right, for sure! There are many occasions where people could really misinterpret!!! One day last year---think it was after our babies had fledged---for some unknown reason we were hearing reggae music on the cam. That was an absolutely hilarious day....we were drinking and dancing and sampling the weed----ha! not really but the conversation would have made someone think so! We knew any folks at NCTC that were reading thought we were bonkers!

Good morning Deb. Thanks for coming over and getting us! Thanks Steve for the new thread!!
Morning, everyone. How's the new fridge, Sissy?
Thanks Steve, thanks Deb. Good morning.
Looking at Loch of the Lowes cam. I think someone asked about water at that site. There is water. Sometimes there is an operator who moves that camera around.
There is a good diary under the picture.
My new fridge is wonderful, except now we have to paint the kitchen!!
Water at Loch of Lowes?! Cool. I haven't seen that yet.
Didn't one of the two at the Loch of the Lowe's just fly out of the nest?
Yes, I am sure that it did.
Yeah, it did. This one, though, I have yet to see fly out. The post on that page said it has fledged but, if he has, he does not want to go it again yet.
There were 4 of them in the nest at one time this morning, food drop and alot of eating! It was really cool.
The remaining chick is all alone. Sounds lonely.
I thought only one had fledged. I was watching a few days ago, and they had the cam on the one that had fledged. I kind of think we might have seen the fledging of Chick #2.
I have seen the others come and go except for this one that is always here.
Must have been a bit crowded in the nest with four there. Do you know if it was two adults and two chicks or three chicks an one adult?
I am thinking it was one adult and 3 chicks, but I am not sure about that.
Okay, so two have fledged. This guy is trying.
Oh, thought it was gone that time!
It's a long way down off the edge of that nest!
Ok, I gotta get back to work, never gonna get this day done like this! Have a great day. I will be lurking. Holler if anything exciting happens!!
Okay. Bye, Sissy.
Off to work, bbl.
The easiest way to tell the chick from the adult is the feathers. The adult has solid feathers, chicks have scalloped edges. Also, adult has yellow eye, chick orange.
Thanks, Deb. You know so much about birds.

I can't tell the chicks apart, Sissy. Can you?
Looks like there should be enough fish for both of them.

Hello, Red. Happy to hear you are doing better.
Hey Red!! So good to hear things are going so well!!! Good to hear from you for sure.
I can't tell them apart at all at Loch of Lowes.
I'm guessing the one with the food is the older one. The other one is obviously not as bold.
odd, pandas are still inside at NZ.
hi Red.
Want a bite . . . so close. . . mouth watering . . .hope there will be nestovers . . .
Gonna try to pull it away . . . shucks, he's got a good grip with talon.
Now I can tell the adult, at the 12 o'clock position, I think. Kids are fighting over breakfast and one is losing miserably!
Parent seems to be taking it all in.
. . . telling on that big bully!
. . . but mom, I'm hungrier. All that flying, you know!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
Lot of osprey action this morning:) They are beautiful birds, aren't they?

RED...nice to hear from you today. So glad you are feeling well enough to mow those 4 acres again. Are you still using oxygen?
Mom says, "You need to share. I can show you some polite chicks at that nest in Finland, if you need an example."
What happened to the other one? Did it leave the nest, or is it behind the branch?
Now I see . . . was behind the branch.
yes Wanda, I remember the picture of the moose at Finney's nest...;)
feeding time at Finney's nest.

Went outside for a few minutes. Now it looks like the adult at the Lowe's site is eating and feeding a young one. I hope the one getting fed is the one who got left out earlier.
Lots of chirping and fussing.
Bye, Norma!
That is so sweet!! I am loving this nest!!
Sissy, which nest are you watching?
Loch of Lowes.
MOrning, all!
Did anyone notice the 30 second cam is working again? :):)
Thanks, Steve and NCTC crew!
Loch of Lowes--I like it too. Really good clear view. Lots of activity today. I do hope adult is taking care of the chick that was getting left out. Do you know?
Other chick should be full by now.
I think so. I think that one has not fledged yet either.
I have not ever used the 30-sec. cam, Paula. Wasn't able to find it. Will have to try again.
One has not fledged. Not sure which one. I thought the other one flew out of the nest earlier today, though.
Looks to be raining there now. I looked at the location on Google Earth, and saw rain in the area.
Good Morning, Everyone!

It is in the southern part of Scotland.
Good morning, Andrea.
Oh--before I forget, I spotted a sharp-shinned hawk on the wire above our yard yesterday! Haven't seen one in a couple of years. No wonder the birds got really quiet all of a sudden!
Andrea, what wildlife and plantlife do you have at your place in the High Desert?

Andrea, don't want your refrigerator to combust. It's supposed to stay cool, for goodness sake.
Paula, it says the page cannot be found.
Tai is walking in his river run
Must be something in the air. I had to buy a new refrigerator yesterday. Unexpected expense for sure!!!! Had to get a new computer Monday. I should not be operating heavy machinery!!
Wish Tai would run across the frog! I would love to see that!
Well, then keep that air down your way, I cannot afford any appliance purchases right now....
Hello all:) pretty day here, hope everybody has a good day!
hey Megan...good to see ya:)
Hello:) Good to be seen. Heading back outside, just came in to get a drink and say hello to the kid. Back out to work-
Ooops, Sorry Shirley, had an extra character in there....try this one.

I finally got around to posting the photos I took a few weeks back. They're here:
BW Osprey Chicks
as usual, Bob, great pics:)
Omigosh, almost forgot to tell you guys-- yesterday as I was driving towards the freeway to go to school, there was an egret in a neighbor's yard! One of the perks of living 2 blocks from the Santa Ana River!
Beautiful pictures, Bob.
I swear Bob, you never cease to amaze me!! Beautiful, absolutely breathtaking pics!!
Bob is the bestest:):):)
of course Deb and Margy are no slouches either:)
Bob, great pics of the osprey feeding its chicks...just wonderful.
Hi, Bob,
Wish you all kinds of success with the picture contests! Let us know if we can vote for you somewhere. And please let us know how to get a calendar with your pictures in it. I'd love to buy one!
neither is Paula:) all great pic takers
Right, Mits, we are blessed to have such great photographers amongst us!
OMG Lynn, I can see it for sure!! They are the best for sure!!
Andrea, desert place sounds very peaceful and lovely. YOu need to spend more time there for R&R!
Bob, great pics, as always. We have so many talented folks among us!
Here is the response I got from Georgetown Law:
Hi Lynn,
It’s great to hear from you, and it’s reassuring to know that there are so many people who are doing everything possible to try to protect the important resources and wildlife affected by this project.

Hi, Lynn,
Wish I could spend more time on R&R, but too much going on lately.
Poor girl.
Jenny visiting
BBL
BTW....thanks, NCTC folks, for getting still cam up and running again!
Enjoyed Bob's pictures...wish one of those egrets would come visit me from time to time. They are beautiful. Last time we were in florida, I was fishing from the shore near Sanibel Island and an egret stayed with me the whole time, in hopes that he could get to my fish before I did:)
Well, I better get myself in gear; the auto parts place will open at 9,
and I still gotta shower and get ready to go. At least the gas tank's already full. Need to try to beat the heat-- it's been in the
100s up at the desert at times this week.
Bob, the Osprey pictures are just
beautiful!
Red, so glad you're doing so much better! (By the way, wish I had that much acreage to mow!)
Hi, Paula, love your avatar! Really cool! Well, gotta run--BBL. Have a great day, everybody! TTFN :o]
Hi, sweet Jennifer:)
Andrea, I think the Momsters need to take a road trip to your Desert Place!:);) Sounds wonderful...I love the desert.
Wanda, come and get me and let's go!! We can take the Eagle Express! ROAD TRIP!!
Buta is playing with a red ball!!
Panda munchin' and nappin' at NZ.
FYI:
Yahoo Group Outages
Lunch time here. Bob, I loved your pictures! How wonderful that you can watch an Osprey nest in person and share the beautiful pictures with us.
Get ready SHARON!
Wow, wouldn't it be fantastic to finally meet some of you gals! Let's hear it for the road trip!
(OOPS!) I gotta hit the road running, myself! Catch you guys later this afternoon. Have a GREAT day! :o]
Bye Andrea...Gotta go myself. GeeGee visit day. BBL
Looks like Nap Time on the Asian Trail
Pandas are asleep inside and the little otter is asleep outside on the warm rock.
Flamingo chick is in the shade and in full view.
I reckon it was Yang Yang at Atlanta, had a bucket of ice water, running his paw through it and dumped it on himself. He was up like a shot!! Too, too funny! Back to Luney now, sleeping!
Back to work, bbl.
Both of the flamingo chicks are in view. You can't be certain they are the chicks until they stand - their long legs is a dead give away. Other then that they look almost like ducks.
Sissy I missed that on the Atlanta cam - I saw what looked like a tub of ice cubes the adult panda had!
Jo, it was a hoot!! He was just lazily dragging his paw through it and then dumped it. I have never seen a panda move so fast!!
Remember the "Sneeze" video.. lol
Right, that is what it reminded me of, kinda!
Red - glad you are feeling better and staying put for now. Please come back soon!
LOL...long, long road trip to Andrea's place.
Time to fold laundry...
& maybe a short panda nap......
BBL
Interesting response to your message to Georgetown Law, Lynn. That is a good contact.
Hi all,
Back from the schoolhouse. Seems a supportive response from GTown. Hoping for the best outcome for the eagles.
Quiet here.
Judie
Out to eat seafood tonight!! Jack's birthday is Friday and he has chosen that night to stay "home" and grill steak.
Great pics, Bob!!! And glad to see Red on here today!!! That's All Folks!
Forgive misspellings plz---Good & spottie!! & maybe more Duh
Isn't nature wonderful, Loretta! How lucky for you to see three fawns in one day. I am still looking for my first one this year.
Getting dark in Scotland. Youngest osprey still hasn't fledged.
Really interesting, Loretta. I had not even thought about what kind of sound a fawn might make.
Shuttle launch is still on at present. In about half an hour.
Shuttle Endeavour lift-off scheduled for 6:03. Getting ready to do the readiness poll...this will be when the weather guys says aye or nay!
Loretta - you are having quite an afternoon of Fawns!
Just turned on NASA 6:03 hopefully for lift off. Where is Lynn?
Link to NASA
Hi, Lynn! I wondered where you were! Figured you would show up soon.
Sounds promising this time Lynn.
I must feed George. Now. George does not like to wait!
He sat in my lap and purred today. He deserves his evening feeding.
There you are Lynn!
Sounds like it will be a go - unless lightening strikes!
Loretta, aren't they precious? I have heard them baa-ing many times. You have such a great place to work!!
Lolly, glad you are having a peaceful vacation!!
Marvin is waiting at the back door....
Had been sleeping on the deck....
He already ate around 4:00 - he must smell the bar-b-que chicken! lol
Looks like it's a go for sure!!!!
"Weather is finally cooperating. It's time to fly. Persistance pays off." Words of the launch director!
Drama at the capitol building. Shooting nearby.
They're getting ready to Fire Those Rockets!!! 10 min away from launch
Don't know if Mits is home from Zoo yet
George's suppertime is 5:00PM. I was already a little late. He sits looking expectantly. Eventually, he will meow loudly. For the morning feeding, he will jump in my bed and press his cold nose against my face and purr and meow loudly. It takes him awhile to adjust to my summer schedule.
Asked Hubby to check the DC news..
You know anything more, Shirley?
7 minutes until liftoff.
Was breaking news on CNN, but launch is on now.
Shirley I googles Culpepper High school but the English dept didn't have their pics up..... :(
HOW COOL IS THAT VIEW !!!
Don't see anything on any of the DC stations right now.
Good Jo! My picture was awful! They haven't taken one for awhile, so I guess they took the link down.
From NBC 4
One person has been shot a block away from the U.S.
Lift off, that means I get to go and mow. Oh goodie.
Beautiful Lift Off
BBL
GROSS, I just found a tick. Luckily it wasn't attached yet, flushed it away.
Lynn, you say I should go look when it is 800 miles downrange?
Beautiful launch! Good luck, Endeavour!
Yes, Shirley, but it's probably too high to show in daylight!
Police shot and killed a gun-wielder who refused to drop the weapon.
I went outside, but there are some clouds. I will remember when there is a night launch.
Hubby said it is just another day in DC
Just in the wrong block!!
Windy at the nest - Wish Hidey would
show!
I am going to Pic People to get some photos the Germany Gang had taken. We
didn't get enough wallet size.
AND I am going to buy the Potter movie
tickets ahead of time. I would loved to have seen the crowd at midnight - some of the fans really dress for the occasion as the characters in the movie. Even adults dress up! lol
No I never have!
Bridge club tonight. Must get ready.
Yeah for retirement, Glo!
Checked in before walking out the door.
Hi Glo! Dex should do great because you are there for him. Go do the things you want to do while you can, gal! ((hugs))
BBL
Good evening all. Got home just in time to see the lift off.
Jo I said the same thing when jubby told me about the shoting in DC.
Red it was good to hear from you and know you are feeling better.
Guess what the Post office lost our zip codes tax bill. I kept saying to jubby. Where is the tax bill. At first they said send a self addressed envelope and we will send a duplicate. Not going to happen.
Hi everyone.
Cheers,
Judie
Just finished a yummy diiner: corn-on-the-cob (Silver Queen, of course!), 'maters and cantaloupe, and some ham. No vanilla ice cream for the melon--don't have any!
Hi, I think I forgot to sign in this A.M.
Got hooked on the Sotamayor hearing before I got to my coffee and breakfast, and I've been behind all day...informed and stimulated, but behind.
How's your day going?? Has anyone seen Hidey?
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
LOL, Judie!!! You're right, for sure! There are many occasions where people could really misinterpret!!! One day last year---think it was after our babies had fledged---for some unknown reason we were hearing reggae music on the cam. That was an absolutely hilarious day....we were drinking and dancing and sampling the weed----ha! not really but the conversation would have made someone think so! We knew any folks at NCTC that were reading thought we were bonkers!
Lynn sounds good to me. Love the summer with the fresh fruit and vegetables.
Jim I think Hidey was seen early this morning for a quick time.
Hi, Jim. Very early this am there was a brief nest visit! Don't think anyone has seem our bird since.
Time for Jeopardy. BBL.
I just heard Hidey, think it might have been an in and out visit to the tree.
Hidey is in the area, but not close to the nest. I can hear him in the distance.
Whoa, someone is right next to the mike.
I heard somebody burning rubber, but I don't hear Hidey yet.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Just another day in DC...I agree. That's why I don't live there!
I saw a fawn last weekend...
Oh, and what did Megan say the other day...Calgon, take me away. I need something stronger than Calgon!!
Yeah, forget the Calgon, I could go for a mojito!!
