Thanks for the call over, Lynn.
Hope you have a good weekend, Steve.

Need to run errands..... BBL

hedgie said...

Steve....if you're here....any idea on the cam situation???? Did it get hit by lightening?

NatureNut said...

Happy Saturday Everyone!
Thx Steve, for new thread.
My Live cam has a lovely blue screen & that's it!

NatureNut said...

BBL---need more coffee & watching the Wren Show! ☺

hedgie said...

Yep, Lowreeda....blue screens since yesterdays storm. Think someone heard a loud noise when it went out.

Costume Lady said...

GOOD AFTERNOON...
There must have been a lot of lightning last evening. When I got home, all the clocks were blinking, blinking, blinking. Hate when that happens. There wasn't a whole lot of rain right here, but must have been something else at the nest...Hidey must have been cussing a BLUE streak;)

Costume Lady said...

Gene should be home anytime now. I have missed him, but loved our GIRLS NIGHT OUT, yesterday, with just me, GG and Denise:)

Mema Jo said...

lol Wanda - some of these youngsters may have never heard that expression used before... I sure have...
....Hidey must have been cussing a BLUE streak

Costume Lady said...

CAROL, if you are reading our blog today...Gene said he waved at you again at Seneca Rock. One of these days, you are going to see him;)

Costume Lady said...

I haven't heard that expression in a long time, Jo. Don't know what made it pop in my head:)

Mema Jo said...

I have an afternoon wedding to attend I'm so thankful for the good weather.

Wanda - you didn't have any open shop doors this time while Gene was gone!
GOOD! Did you ever solve that mystery of the Harley Eagle???

Costume Lady said...

Hey, Jo, before I get off of here, when are we going to see another video of Izzy walking. I LOVED that first one you sent. Second one, she was sooo tired:)

Costume Lady said...

Nope, no shop door open, but I did lock myself out of the house. LOL
Never found out where the Harley Eagle came from. WEIRD!!

Mema Jo said...

Just spoke with Christine and asked her about the next video. She said that Izzy can walk but can crawl faster! Little stinker!

Enjoy your reunion with Capt Gene!

Lolly said...

Hi all! Just came in from mowing, edging and blowing. Hot and sweaty! Have been sitting down and resting before going to shower.

Wanda, I had forgotten about your Harley Eagle. Some sneaky Momster, I am sure! Some Momster who lives close by!!

I want you guys to know that I have not forgotten vacation pics. Our computer kept shutting down while I was downloading pics. Guess I will have to load them to this laptop. Michael's house pics I got off the internet. I wanted the pics before they take them off since the house is sold. They are going to have a decorator for their house. I will take pics when they are done, but it is going to be a long time. The furniture in the pics was "staging" to sell the house. It is a new house....just built this spring.

Lolly said...

Going to go shower. We are thinking about going to see Harry Potter this afternoon. Laurel saw it yesterday and was bragging that they saw it before us.

BBL Bye!

Lolly said...

Whoops! That's right, Norma, one room is for you!!!! However, I do NOT have a house like Michael's and I do not have a 5 bedroom house with 5 1/2 bathrooms. Have to settle for my humble abode!!
A certain engineer and teacher did not earn what two lawyers do! LOL

Mema Jo said...

Lolly I want you to be sure to tell us the very first time M & A lose Zach!
They best get some walkie/talkies!
You could go visit and never find them!

The very large house will soon become
a HOME, I'm sure! You can be as Proud as a Peacock for your son and family!

I am also off to the showers! Got to get pretty and go to the wedding!

I see nobody knows exactly what happened to the picture yet.

But reading the comments on it, I saw the one about daddy long legs spiders and about the venom, which I had never heard before. Looked it up on Google, and it seems to be an "urban myth."

We have a lot of them in So Cal, so I'm glad they aren't harmful to people. We also have some quantities of Black Widows, which are very poisonous, but I just learned not long ago that they are being replaced here by the Brown Widow. Nobody heard of them until recently, and nobody knows what they have that Black Widows don't have.

Just be careful turning over boards and such, and watch out reaching into dark areas.

We used to have a lot of the Black Widows where we lived near Del Mar ... even in the crawl space under part of the house where Dad stored some lumber. None of us were bitten, TG.

Have a great day, folks. It's already in the mid 70's here, and it's get close to 90° before sundown today. ... Kinda muggy too.

LOL, Jo. Love it! They have monitor in his room. Maybe they need another for each room of the house to know where he is. However, they are over protective and he is not allowed to go upstairs by himself. I will not get started on it, but hopefully that will change soon.

magpie said...

Hello Eagle People...☺
I can hear things at the nest sure can't see them. Hope the Baby Sycamore survives the Storms!

Lynn sorry about Carolyn -
A good friend once told me "the essence of freedom is the ability to be taken by surprise." I have pondered that expression many times, think there is some wisdom in it, but I don't know if I have that kind of "freedom."

As we have read before, When God closes one door, He opens another. I hope that will be the case here, and that it will be a Big, Wide, Welcoming Door.

Wanda
Most of the storm activity last night was in the Bedington area, probably what caused your lights to go out. Hopefully you don't have any big trees come down in the road this year like last year!

magpie said...

All the exciting talk about Road Trips...don't think I will be able to make any of them until I am retired ! Keep the Dreams going !
If "we" do it, we will have to open up a Blog like Big Rig Steve has!

xo Hope the afternoon and evening are going well for everyone and will continue to do to. Work for me tonight...hope the natives are not too restless.

Jim
What are your travel plans, are you going to Minnesota?

Thinking of Deb in Colorado Springs....

magpie said...

Will be exciting when Judie and Shirley hop on here....
I remember Glo's video of when she was able to observe an Eagle Release last year.

magpie said...

Well, I am headed out...to work.
Could be a sighting for ISS around these parts around 9 if we have clear skies..

and keep watch for the Baby Moon in the West, South West

Best wishes for a "Stellar Evening."

Hello everyone. Back from the big adventure.

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! So much wing-flapping and swooping and then off to the tree tops. And that was Shirley!

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! I have never seen anything so breath taking in my life. Each of the three eaglets was released separately.

Each was presented up close to the watchers before release. To be within 3 feet of such a powerful creation is a heart-thumper. A toss into the air, a downward swoop, then soaring to nearby trees.

Shirley looks lovely in hot pink. Such a very, very nice person. After the eagles were released we, along with my husband, had lunch and looked at the pictures. She did an excellent job and got some really good pictures.

Okay, I've covered a lot. Will let Shirley add her comments.

Lynn, happy your daughter is nearby and has your support.

Mema Jo, I think you've unlocked the secret. Hidey cussing a blue streak is what caused the blue screen.

Lolly, son and daughter-in-law have a gorgeous new home.

Back later to say goodnight.
Judie

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
Finally getting back here--have been really busy, trying to get some housework done. It's SO humid
it's awful. Having the clothes dryer on makes the garage so hot it's ridiculous. Have a baby night heron hanging out on the front porch. He's so cute; looks a bit like a hunched over little old man!
Lynn, so sorry your daughter lost her job! Prayers for both her, and for you.
Gosh, guess it REALLY rained at the nest! Hope the camera is fixable. At least we still have sound. Good thing some of you have heard Hidey since it happened, too!
Hubby & I drove to the beach this morning to see some of the 20' waves. Don't get them very often!
It was hot & humid there, too, but not quite as hot as home.
Well, lots of homework to finish, so I guess I'll check back later.
Hope we'll hear from Judie & Shirley later! BBIALW. :o]

Ms Bookworm said...

Hey, I wonder if whatever happened to the camera got rid of the smudge!
LOL :oD

Costume Lady said...

It is raining very hard here. This is a GOOD rain. I hope Megan is getting it also. I won't have to water my flowers or garden for a long while! Rumbling thunder, but no lightning. I do hope it is not raining on Shirley and Judie. I'm thinking that they may be home by now or maybe chatting over a cup of coffee:)

Costume Lady said...

Oh, how dumb of me...I should have read back before I posted! Reading Judie's comments now.

stronghunter said...

Just got home. I did meet Judie and her husband, Frank. We had a great time watching the release and then had lunch together. It was great fun.

There are pictues! Be patient while I put them on the blog. I will have to play around with the systiem awhile.

Costume Lady said...

LADIES...sounds like you had a wonderful day. How exciting it must have been for you to be so close to the eagles. I thought they would have you standing far away. Was it your first time seeing a live eagle? So anxious to see your photos.

stronghunter said...

Judie did such a wonderful job of describing our adventures . . . it was such fun.

There was a big crowd there and I was worried about ever finding her. Was walking towards the visitor center when a lovely lady in a GW shirt walked up and asked if I was Shirley. I knew there was a good reason I bought those pink capri pants!

Now to see what I can do about the pictues.

Costume Lady said...

Andrea, it just rained here very hard, so it may have helped the smudge. I guess we will have to wait til Monday to find out:(
It is a beautiful, wet, 73° right now. Weather to make even Hidey happy:)

Lolly said...

Judie and Shirley, how awesome that you got together with each other for an exciting event. Hope you can get to open house this year in Oct. I went last year for the first time and met this wonderful group of ladies plus a few hubby's and Bob the photographer. Can not go this year, but sure wish it was possible.

Margy, great idea! We will have a cam for our road trips! Wahoo!

Costume Lady said...

I have a cam on my lap top...we can turn it toward the road, like Steve the Trucker does. I don't even know how it works. Jo, how do you get the videos of Izzy and family?

Mits said...

Judie and Shirley, glad you had a good time.

hedgie said...

Good evening all.
So glad to hear that Judie and Shirley hooked up and were able to witness the amazing release....there was just a brief clip on Ch. 9 news....VERY brief pan of crowd---maybe 1 sec. so couldn't pick out anyone!---and then it showed each of the birds take wing. Beautiful!! Glad you gals and Frank hooked up (Loretta has a Frank, too, Judie!) and even enjoyed lunch together!

hedgie said...

Andrea, would love a look at your porch visitor!!
Heard on the news that the waves may hit 50'!!! What a sight that would be---very scary.

stronghunter said...

Wanda, I saw your comment about the glove--the man did put on two gloves, one on top of another. I guess he took them off.

hedgie said...

Judie, when Shirley gets the pics posted, you can right click on ones you want to keep and choose "save picture as" and then name it and save it!

hedgie said...

I see the first two are up! Good, Shirley! That guy wasn't wearing gloves!!

Mits said...

beautiful pictures, Shirley

stronghunter said...

Storm coming here. I am having fun with my camera. Trying to figure out some things. The hard thing for me is that when I eventually figure something out, I do not always remember what I did. Keep looking at instruction book. This is a neat little camera.

ceil said...

Good evening. Shirley great pictures. Thanks. Glad you and Judie had a great time. It is raining heavy and windy here. Look out Mits may be coming your way.

Mits said...

think it will fizzle before it gets here, Ceil

Judie said...

Back again.

Shirley, I love the pictures.

Still hard to believe I actually was so close to those beautiful creatures and the pictures are a great reminder.

Thanks Lynn for the tips about saving the pictures. I surely will.

Yes, this was my first up close with live eagles. Maybe Shirley's, also. I still haven't come down from my eagle "high." Did see the tv coverage. There were a couple of media photograpers there.

Rain and thunder and lightening here. Sounds as if NCTC is getting a real downpour. Hope Hidey has a roof over his/her head.

Going to shut down the computer until the storm passes.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes for a happy excursion. Obviously worked.

Good night everyone.
Judie

hedgie said...

We had two good downpours earlier...think now it's just blowing off leaves.

NatureNut said...

Evening Everyone!
We are getting light rain here-started about 1/2 hour ago.We got nothing Fri. night, but TH was a gully washer.AND I still had to water big potted plants---starting to wilt!
How wonderful for Judie & Shirley!!! Gonna check pics in a sec.
Lynn, sorry about your daughter's problem---if she's half as talented as you, she should get something very soon. ☺

Lolly said...

Have been working on picture, finally!! Colorado pics are posted. Those are just a sampling of my pics.

Good Evening Eaglelanders

I can't keep my days straight. Things keep getting jumbled all up.

First let me say Lynn-Hedgie I feel so badly for your daughters job lose. I pray God quickly opens at better door for her. Remember keep your health up! NO DIEING is NOT the only way you can help...I don't want to hear you saying that lady!! Your words to God or some direction he gives her. Could be from something you spoke to God about. You DIEING might have stopped the direction of your prayers for your daughter.

Judie and Shirley so happy for both of you. Having the thrill of being so so close to eagles being released. I'm not sure Judie I understand about the wheelchair. I might have missed something there.

Margy was so good to see you Thursday. You are quite right when home an slept. Friday was so busy. Had to do grocery shopping that night. Which I never do at night but we have been falling behind with dr appts. So I think most is caught up now. We are just worn out.

Jim and Deb and Mason have been in my prayers.

I can only say that Thoratic Surgeon said he doesn't believe Ed has cancer either. That is the good news. Bad news is he won't get any better. His disease will only get worse. Each day behind him was the "better day" they said. He will only get worse. They don't know how much time he has left. Only God does. So I have more things to change in my life after my cataract surgery is over and I'm healed. In order to be closer to home in my doing things.
There is no medication nor anything they can do to help him get better or improve his breathing.

Thursday night I said to him kidding: "Honey you wanted to help. Why didn't you was that fork, glass and bowl?" He said because I don't to dishes on Thursday. hee hee I knew teasing him I'd get a cute answer. So Friday a bowl was in the sink after I came home from running errands. I said, "You said you needed me to run these errands cause you can't anymore. How come you didn't was the bowl and glass?" He said, "I got lazy".lol Then he said, "Oh by the way Saturday is my day off (meaning HIS day off) LOL and I said, "I guess something is going on on Sunday for you too right?" lol He answered by saying, "I'm praying all day Sunday." I ask, "And what are you praying for?" He said, "Each sports game he is going to watch. He is praying the team he wants will win". lol tee hee So you can see my sweetie and me will always keep some humor going. Although there will be, has been and is times of some saddness.
In my heart I still know God has blessed us both. Maybe if he had been told he had cancer. It might have been worse for him. 3 doctors don't feel he could with stand chemo, raditiation, cyberknife, surgery, etc. So we probably have more time together this way.

My Blessing To All
Prayers for those that need them
Praises for God Hearing Those Prayers and Being There For Each And Everyone Of Us.

Someone just sent a wonderful card (which he has loved each one you sent) through the mail to Ed. I thank you and hugs. You didn't know I am sure that the verse Is. 40:31 is my very special verse. Sorry this was so long.

wvgal_dana said...

the word "was" in there twice was suppose to be "wash" sorry

hedgie said...

Dana, glad to see you back with us. Have been wondering what Dr. said. Sorry that the prognosis sounds so bad, but remember that our prayers DO work miracles, and we have been offering a lot of them. Keep the faith, and enjoy every minute that you have.

hedgie said...

Loretta, that pic is so cute! Bet Sissy would love to have one like that! The best of both worlds.

Mema Jo said...

The wedding I attended was very beautiful and quite traditional. No hip hopping down the isle like the recent youTube video. The reception was a sit down and yummy! They even had some 'oldies' playing by the DJ.

Lolly said...

Okay, have finished beach pics. I know you all are getting tired of my pictures. LOL

Dana, it is so good to hear from you. Hugs and prayers coming your way. Keep up the humor, the positive thoughts, and love for each other and God.

stronghunter said...

Dana, please know that we are all thinking about you and saying prayers. It was good to hear from you again.

Still trying to work on the remaining pictues.

When checking Va. Wildlife Center to see if they had posted any pics yet from today's release, found some very interesting facts in the release announcement. Check it out!
Among other things, Rep. Jim Moran' who I believe was either Fairfax Co. Supervisor or Commonwealths Attorney at one time, is very active in environmental issues....maybe you VA gals could write to him about St. E's!!

NatureNut said...

Shirley, I hope Blogger isn't troubling you. I've never had to post a message----just need to find your name & avatar anywhere on blog, double click & you should be on your spot.(Sometimes, lately, they do want a sign-in on blogspot before posting--there've been some recent changes)
Maybe you found out that the "write" window will allow you to add 5 pics at a time, just click on "Add another picture"--at top, left. Also, they appear from bottom up. So if you're doing a sequence you want in order, load them in backwards order.
Happy Posting!! ☺ Can't wait to see your other pics!

hedgie said...

No, Lolly, we don't get tired of your pics at all! Beach looks like lots of fun----GREAT castles!

hedgie said...

Shirley, don't understand why you have to keep logging back on. Once you are in to your profile/blog area, you should be able to do everything and then return to here without have to log back on.

Shirley, when you click on your name to get to your stuff, do a right click and select "open in new tab"---see how that works for you!

Thanks for all the support, gang. Just please keep praying that the Lord DOES open another door...and quickly. These kids will sink in less than a month. Goodnight. As Margy says, God bless us every one.

Good morning, everyone.

Shirley -- you are sooooooooooo good! The pictures are great but the movie is amazing. You learned quickly and we all thank you for the effort.

Lynn - Still sending prayers for you and daughter. I know something better is just around the corner. Also, thanks for tip on saving pictures.

Dana - I wish the news about Ed were more positive. I am sending very special prayers for you both. Always remember you two have a very powerful support group.

Wheelchair: didn't take it yesterday but sometimes need because of severe peripheral artery disease both legs; surgery is 50/50 amputation so have decided to live with pain.

I'm sorry about leaving the faucet on. I kept trying to turn it off but the knob just kept spinning around out of control.

stronghunter said...

Good morning, I am happy that you enjoyed the pictures . . . I agree that the blogger does not seem user friendly when it comes to uploading pictures. Happy to know it is easier on facebook. I have an account there, but have never done anything with it.

stronghunter said...

A couple of things--the video looks better if you lie down to look at it or turn the computer sideways.

I was able to correct it on my camera and on my computer, but got a message that if I tried to put it elsewere, it would flip back to sideways unless I followed their further instructions, which I thought I did.

Maybe someone has more ideas, but I thought it was so nice to see the the eagle in flight that I just wanted to go ahead and put it on.

I had another video that I did before I went to the release I tried to upload, but it was taking hours last night. I finally gave up and went to bed. When I got up this morning, I got an error message that said I should contact the blogger's technical support.

(Judie--it was the squirrel video.) I took my computer into the restaurant and we watched the videos on the computer there yesterday.

Also had problems writing much of anything with the pictures. Thought you could figure out that I am the one in the pink pants and that if you can't tell Judie and Frank apart I don't know what to tell you.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and comments about the issues I had last night!

Usually when I work on my blog, I hit the back button if I want to go back out for some reason--like to see what is there. Sometimes it works. Last night, I had to close the tab, which took me off the blog completely, and then to sign in as myself I had to publish a message.

Someone commented that there have been changes recently. I know that for a long time, I did not have to put in my name and password every time I came in, but now I do.

Hope Market goes well even if it isn't sunny, Megan.
Looked at pics last night but glad you have more, Shirley.

stronghunter said...

I remember there was something about the eagle going for the handler's face, but he was able to avert that disaster.

I am also not sure what happened about the gloves, because the handler did put on gloves. He even said that the eagles are so strong they can still cause pain when you are wearing two pairs of gloves. After all of that, he obviously took the gloves off.

I was focusing on the camera, so Judie is the one who can tell you more than I can about what was being said.

Congressman Moran was there and made a speech.

normabyrd said...

SHIRLEY---STATIC is all I have had since checking on this am!---I have been wanting to ask you---'are you still on a high'?---You don't experience things like that EVERY DAY! ho!

stronghunter said...

Yes Norma, I am still feeling good.

Really, it is a beautiful park--the part I saw, anyway. I have driven up and down I-95 all these years without knowing it was so big. I've seen the signs, but never had been there before.

One thing they said yesterday--since these young eagles have never fished or hunted before, they will have role models there because there are adult eagles around.

Judie said...

Back for a quick visit.

Eagle handler did put on two pairs of gloves then removed them -- showing his bravery, I guess. He did say that the talons are so powerful they can penetrate both pairs. Looked like gloves falconers wear -- large and very thick. My concern was that the crowd and noise would aggitate the eaglets and cause them to try to break free. Maybe that's why the eaglet tried to strike?

The third eagle released looked to be the largest. As the handler turned her to face the people, she spun her head and tried to strick his face. He joked that at least this time he was faster than the eagle -- now hear my sharp intake of breath!

Also, people can be soooooooooo STUPID. Woman with very small dog - dog was curious - dog tried to raise up to check out eaglet handler was showing around - dog could have been lunchtime appetizer.

Blue and static for two or three days.

Delta nest still has eaglet which seems not to have branched.

If Shirley gets the squirrel picture on, everyone will have a huge LOL.

Later,
Judie

I just viewed LOLLY'S vacation photos!---Scenery is just too beautiful to be real!!---They have so much fun with their family---Think I will ask them to adopt me! ho!---

stronghunter said...

Hi Judie,

Good to "see" you again.

There were several little doggies at the event yesterday. None got eaten, thank goodness.

normabyrd said...

SHIRLEY -- Have you been following this HENRY 'SKIP' GATES controversy?----

stronghunter said...

Kind of hard not to follow the controversy, Norma. I tend to watch too much CNN. I have sympathy for the police officer.

I know what it feels like to try hard to avoid being accused of racism, only to be accused anyway. That is not to say that terrible things have not been done to people of color.

I do hope they work things out soon.

Lolly said...

Just getting on to say "Good Morning!" And....have a great day. Time to get ready for church.

Shirley...you need to get active on facebook. It is fun to keep track of friends and read comments.

I'll be back later....gotta go!

Will remember special people for special prayers this morning!

Bye!

P.S. Norma...you are now officially adopted. Come on! Your room awaits you!

stronghunter said...

Beautiful pictures, Lolly. You have mastered things I do not have under control yet when it comes to displaying pictures.

stronghunter said...

I am sure that Professor Gates is a fine man and an excellent professor--too bad that things happened the way they did. It is not a good idea, no matter what color you are, to shout at a police officer.

normabyrd said...

GATES grew up in a very small town in Min Co, WV---Went to my old school--pre-integration--was always having SIT-INS--etc!!---he is brilliant-- an outstanding prof at Harvard, et al---but I agree he was probably YELLING--& cussing the police---'you don't know who you are with'---I think I would had arrested him too!----acting a bit cocky!!

normabyrd said...

WOW! thanks for adopting me again--LOLLY!---COOL!

stronghunter said...

I had a police officer come to my house one evening when I was home alone. He had his car outside with lights blinking. When I opened the door, he was obviously really excited. He said, "Where're they at? Where're they at?" I said I didn't know what he was talking about. Turns out he was on the wrong street.

Someone asked me if I corrected his grammar. Nope. True, I am an English teacher. I try not to be a fool. I did everything possible to send the man to the correct street, then went and peeked out my back window. Saw blinking blue lights back there. Don't know much more. Called son on cell phone because he was on the way to the house and told him to be careful.

stronghunter said...

Norma, I did not know Gates was from WV. Interesting.

hedgie said...

Okay, MD momsters...how close to the nest is Leitersburg, near Antietam Creek---as the eagle flies?? A birdie photo spread in the Herald today has a pic of an eagle taken in a backyard there....could it be Belle or Lib???? I'll try to scan it later and if it's decent, I'll post it on my blog.

normabyrd said...

That's why I mentioned his name!--It is unbelievable how well he has gone as far as he has---He can call Pres a friend----BUT THAT DOESN'T EXCUSE HIS ACTIONS!!

stronghunter said...

Maybe Gates has gotten a bit full of himself. That does not mean he is not a good man, just human. I like Obama, too, but think he got carried away.

normabyrd said...

Thanks HEDGIE!---You always find the best info from the paper!---Do you take the Martinsburg paper?

normabyrd said...

CNN is at 'NORMA'S CAFE' in Dallas, TX---Don't hear that name often!---ho!

hedgie said...

Norma, I get the Martinsburg paper (Journal) AND the Hagerstown paper (Herald). Newshound that I am....Journal stinks, but like it for obits, real estate transactions, etc.
If I remember correctly, while watching Ken Burns' "The Civil War" documentary for the second time just recently, Gates was frequently onscreen providing info about the slavery issues of those times. Just read a couple of days ago that he was, indeed, a WV native.

HEDGIE---(some thing is eating my answers)---I take a daily CUMBERLAND paper---only obits!--Then I receive CHARLESTON GAZETTE by mail--read cover to cover! ho--also will pick up WASH POST on most Sundays---WHOA!--I must tell my kids about you! -- I will read any newspaper I can find--no matter what date or city!--They think I am a 'NUT'---HO!

HEDGIE---SKIP GATES grew up near KEYSER---28 mi from ROMNEY!!---

Lynn, Google Earth tells me that, as the eagle flies, it is 20.20 miles from Shepherdstown, WV to Leitersburg, MD.

Technical Note
Our partner site Wildcam.com is having issues, and that is affecting our image updating. They're working on the problem.

Based on recent photos, we're guessing that our chick, Braveheart, might be a female. We'll update the Osprey Cam Web Log Sunday night with details.

Leitersburg, MD is right above Hagerstown. Doubt it was our eagle!
I had the Herald Mail up but can't find the picture. Any clue what page or section it was on, Lynn.

Shirley loved all your photos & I did tilt my head to watch the video! Quite a take off!

Mema Jo said...

Hi Mits! Aaron is on his way down for the week at the house in Fenwick.
He loves to watch sunrises! You are down all this week - right?

Mits said...

On PC, so logging in again to post eagle pic to my blog.

Back for a quick visit.

Yes, I finally messed around and figured out how to put blogger info. on. Now, what created the little square to the right of a posted message?

You are so right Shirley. Never get attitude with a cop -- they always have "fire" power.

Okay, got a few chores done but going back for a few more to get caught up.

Later,
Judie

Heard a call go out on the scanner for response to Bald Eagle Lane....MARGY, when you get on....WHERE is that???? Wonder if they see them there????

Lolly said...

Hi Jim! You are getting close to Sunday afternoon.

hedgie said...

Megan, you have mail!

Lolly said...

Great picture, Lynn. I would love to look out my window and see that. Best thing I ever saw when I looked out my window was a small hawk cooling off on the ground, playing in my sprinkler. He got so wet he could not fly. He waddled over to a small, split trunk redbud and climbed it. Sat there and dried off.

Lolly said...

Well, the first step in cleaning house is turning off and walking away from the computer. LOL

Help! I am soliciting opinions. I have another photo contest I'm entering. I have to pick three photos for the Easton Plein Air photo contest. The only criteria is they have to be shot in the "open air" and taken in Talbot county. They have a new category this year for night photography. I figured I'd take a shot at that, there might be fewer entries. Let me know if any of these jump out at you. Thanks!

Afternoon all.

stronghunter said...

Hi Bob, I like the outdoor restaurant scenes, especially the black and white.

stronghunter said...

Ceil, I agree with you on #13; I like it too.

movin said...

Hi, Bob.

I'm not going to pick three, but I did think that the black and white pictures better represented the kind of subject you photographed.

That's the opposite of my usual preference.

Bob Quinn said...

Thanks Jim. I have done very little black and white but I think you're right. It just seemed to fit this subject matter.

hedgie said...

Aha...Bald Eagle Trail is on my county map---and it's very close to me (and even closer to where I used to live B.D. (before divorce)!! It's in The Woods Resort! Margy, think we need to check it out! How strange that I haven't heard of it before.
Another downpour....and now I hear thunder, so guess I better log off. BBL.

hedgie said...

Ok, before I go...Bob, so hard to choose.....I've narrowed my preference to 2,5,6,10 and 13!!! Hope that helps. Jim is right, B&W has a special appeal for certain atmospheres....takes me back in time!
Bye. All stay safe.

Judie said...

Hi Bob,

Haven't met you but if a newbie can chime in, I like 4,6,12,14. The black & white seem the most attention-grabbing for me - reminiscent of a quieter time.

Best of luck with the contest.

Happy Sunday Everyone! Guess I'm here at the right time~~~~~
Bob, fantastic photos! I like 3, 10, & 13. They're all great! Good luck. I can't remember if public was allowed to vote on these!?

Just saw a colored picture w/caption on front page of today's Wash. Times. Ed Clark of VA Wildlife Ctr. is holding one of the eaglets that was released!

Bob Quinn said...

Thanks Judie! That helps, as do all the other comments.

Mits said...

3,7,13. Bob

Bob Quinn said...

Thanks Mits. 13 seems to be popular.

Think I left comments on blogspots last night, but just wanted to say I really enjoyed all the new pics-saw Shirley's & Lolly's!
Shirley, you've done a great job.You can easily add text by typing above or below your pictures-----just like in an email window (before we had to attach!) I am also having trouble lately clicking Back button from Blogspots to get back to Comment Blog. May have to try Hedgie's tip of opening a separate tab.

Bob - Great photos. I go for #3, #6 and #18 - I think I matched pics with numbers okay.

Hello to all, got to get ready for work again, only have to be there from 6 pm to midnight.

Thinking of all, was good to hear from Dana last night. I like Isaiah 40:31 also.

Thinking of Deb as she travels home.

Best wishes to all for a good evening.

GOOD EVENING...
BOB, you come up with the most challenging contests and photos:)
I like the photo with the LONE DINER at the sidewalk cafe-#3. That photo has 'feeling'.
I also like #13 and #21 for the same reason as Margy...the price of gas (2.35), it is 2.49 here in Martinsburg! Looks like no one likes that price...I would be filling up the Eagle Express at that price!:) GOOD LUCK, BOB!

Bob Quinn said...

Gas is usually 10 to 20 cents cheaper here in Easton than Alexandria. I always fill up just before I leave.

Costume Lady said...

I liked it better last year when it was somewhere around a 1.60:)

Hope your evening is quiet, Margy;)

Hi Deb! Glad you are home. We have been thinking of you.

Bob, it is hard to choose, but #18 appeals to me.

So jealous of your rain. We do have a chance this evening. Sending prayers up! Texas needs rain.....as the song goes!

Hi Lolly - would love for TX to have some rain!

Hi Deb, glad your are home...we had a beautiful beach day today, and a little storm came through with some nice rain, raining softly now....the dunes needed it, and the worst of the storm is over the ocean...far away, hubby stayed and extra day, will be getting up early to go to office....

Evening, all!

We got 1/2" of rain here at home, and some at Mom's as well.

All home safe and sound, everyone fed and comfy...gotta catch up on mail, blog and do some laundry.
