Associate Press online has an update on the D.C. shooting. Man refused a traffic stop, hit two officers (minor injuries), and refused to put down his gun, now deceased.

Tomorrow is the Yankton area women's kayak trip and I got invited along. They kayak from the dam, stop halfway for dinner, then head into Yankton. It should be fun, I hope. I will know 3 of the people going. I am not bringing my camera with so many boats around. I don't want one to crash into me and tip the camera in the water.
How was the zoo today?
zoo was crowded and warm....people do not do well in the warm weather....they get tired and cranky:)
and some people try to push the limits of my patience, but they can't get me down:)
no news on the red pandas yet, still have part of the exhibit roped off, but from the top of the trail they were not visible, stayed in their AC dens
I know what you mean about hot weather! Especially when there are people everywhere, it seems to make it seem even hotter.
Deeb, that sounds like a great trip! Maybe someone you know will have a small camera if something neat shows up! We have a new Patuxent Water Trail.Starts way north of the Park and you can kayak or canoe all the way down to the Chesapeake Bay at Solomon's Island. There are pullover camping sites in each county.The River itself is 100 mi. long, but don't think it's accessible at the top.Your kind of trip!

Fubby thinks I've lost it. Lynn, I know you and others who live near or frequent woods have heard those fawn sounds. But I never have. Guess you just have to be at the right place at the right time!

Seafood dinner was wonderful. I had left overs so I will have a great lunch tomorrow. YUM!
After eating we walked on the beach looking for seashells. Joseph swam.

Loretta, the fawn video is wonderful! George was fascinated. Think he would be afraid of a fawn, though. He's a scary cat at heart. Know he would be afraid of momma deer.

And, George wasn't worried when you turned the lights off. He sees pretty well in the dark.
Loretta, don't think you need to worry about talking to animals. That little fawn was answering you. It stopped running away and listened to you. You must have just the right tone in your voice.
