hedgie said... LOL, Shar....a .357 would probably take down the tree!!! Glad to see you and Sis both on on a Sunday! Are you on the boat, too? Deb, so sorry you have to go back to work....thought you were retired...for good!!! Lucky you did find something and even better that it's so close to home! We sure don't want your 40's, but would love to give you these 90's! Too much too soon! 75 sounds like it would be just about right for us all.

Of course, now I know that you AREN'T on the boat, Shar!
Shar, nothing yet about June, but you can bet that we WILL be doing it....sure do hope that Hidey doesn't decide to fledge early!! Remember that only Tiny was left when we went in early June!
#1 of 2 Congratulations Deb - But so sad for us bloggers Oh how I am going to miss all the pics you send me and all the updates in your comments. Let us know when you find out your hours You may get off early in the day and still be able to jump in the truck and go to capture some pics before the sun goes down! As you say, the experiences you have had are worth more then gold! Best of everything to you, gal! (((hugs))
I have been thinking Nest Visit - 1st wekkend in June I think Hidey would be 11 weeks old. Do you think that is waiting too close to fledge time. Just wanted to see her jumping and branching a little.
When I hit the pop-up button, I get another full screen.
Lynn, I took what I thought was going to be a year off, ended up being 2 years. I didn't know I would enjoy my freedom so much. I wasn't sure I would make it a full year, who knew!
Hi ya', Jo!!!! Are you feeling a bit more human today? Shar and I were talking about June....I hope we won't be too late...as rambunctious as Hidey is and the way she's maturing, wonder if we should maybe aim for the end of May. What do you think?
Deb, it's really nice that you were able to do that! Always have loved the joke that says we should be retired when we're young and then go to work after we're old!!
Also all you out of towners need to give input about your coming into Shepherdstown. What say you Sharon? Sara? Maybe Loretta would be able to come but I know she works some Saturdays.
just putting my 2 cents worth in, would it not be better to wait til she has fledged so we can actually see her out of the nest, instead of in it, she is not going anywhere too soon, and would be nice to see her fly and land near the tree.
Oh, Grobeaks, huh? Red-Breasted like on the WV tag I have?: that's about the only way I will see them, fabulous bird..and, WV has discontinued this tag, can you believe it ???? so I have a collector's item
I snuck into Shepherdstown to market and bought some marigolds, snapdragons, and one salvia plant, she has some great things at the Flower Power Van....
Just watched a switch at Hornby, thought one was under attack there for a minute with all the noise, roosting bird flew off, same one or other parent came in...both eggs still look like pipping and popping ! Bird on nest, seems rather agitated at something overhead
Hi Afternoon Eagle People and Morning East Coast Eagle People ☺
I saw that Mema sneaked in and out ☺ Yay for that !
DEB Read your going back to work news...AT&T 's getting a good one with you! And hooray for all their customers! I am returning to night shift this coming week-end, and often have days off during the week, work every other week-end....
I agree with everyone else: We are going to miss you ! But, Best Wishes and so Cool, you can walk to work! ☺
Deb that is terrible. Glad you have a job but I rely on you for all the e-mail pictures and articles. I am glad that you had two years of fun. Jo please rest. Don't over do it too much. As far as nest visit I will be there with bells on if MM is okay to come. What ever date is picked. If we can be there we will. I was looking yesterday and thinking of making reservations for October 17th weekend. What do you say Mits? Such I.
Okay, Jo....Helen may be right. Have a good panda nap. Margy, sneaking???? Why? Are you hiding from someone??? LOL. Bet Megan's flowers are lovely! Are they in baskets or are you planting them? Got the one "scary" job finished...cleaning up where the wood was stacked under the deck....so many leaves and debris build up through the winter...amazing when you consider I had done all the leaves in the fall. But not one single creature found, thank goodness.
By the way, Megan says that in past posts when she said she saw Tom and Sandra...they have been walking through the market and she said they look really good! ☺
But today, is rather hot, so she didn't expect to see them today .
Yep, Ceil, if you plan to stay over in Oct. you should get those reservations soon. You, too, Sharon and Sissy and Thelma. Since it IS Apple Harvest festival weekend I'm sure there's alot of bookings already. BTW...where has Tbird been keeping herself?????
Sharon...When I got this tag four years ago, I got a great deal on it, like half the normal rate for a specialty tag....'cause the lady at DMV said they were discontinuing...can't tell for sure because the ones that people have I am sure they are going to hold onto them! But I will ask and find out.
Monday is the first day of Spring Gobbler Season in WV, not sure if for all counties or not. Yesterday, was "Youth Hunt Day" so I guess it officially started yesterday.
I didn't exactly sneak into Shep-town, just caught a whim on a breeze and took off ! ☺
Lynn we could not get in at the Clarion last year. We got the last two rooms that were smoking rooms. It smelled terrible. We spayed but it did not help.
and the reason I might have to cancel at the last minute is...THE M&M GIRLS ARE GOING TO HAVE A BROTHER OR SISTER COME OCTOBER 21ST, OR AROUND THAT TIME:):):)
T-Bird was here this weekend. She is headed back home now but stopped at the lake to get on the boat with Sis, Tom and Mattie. Of course, Buddy is with her too! :)
I think Jimmy is going this year. When I got back Tuesday I said we had such a great boat ride. Boat you did not tell me you were going on a boat. I said you did not listen to me. He was having some back problems. Oh I better go get things out of the dryer.
It would be nice for them to have a boy but another girl will be great. Will pray for all to go well. I told our Bishop the other day. 3 in 5 years. He said WOW. Sorry I am talking to much.
Thanks Sharon. Margy our aunt and uncle had 11. She was a convert to the Catholic faith. Doctor told her no more. Church said no Sacraments. She moved to another state.
US Declares Public Health Emergency For Swine Flu The U.S. declared a public health emergency Sunday to deal with the emerging new swine flu, much like the government does to prepare for approaching hurricanes.
OH THAT WORRIES ME....LOL, THE GOVERNMENT GETTING PREPARED
I have some errands to run, need dog food. I am off, will be back later. It is still yucky outside, I was hoping for a little sun, so I could enjoy the afternoon.
What lovely news, Mits!! Congrats!!! Aren't grandbabies wonderful??? I don't REALLY want anymore, but sure would have liked to see the product if my beautiful youngest and her hubby had been of the mind to have any...it would have been a real cutie! C'est la vie...they are too independent and self-centered plus w/ difficult work hours to accommodate parenthood. My girls are going to be 15 and 11 within the next 6 wks. Argh....oldest will be eligible for learners' permit!
So far she (Jess) isn't expressing any interest in driving, Ceil....even tho' she does "drive" the mower and 4-wheeler around their yard and driveway. Hope she continues to lack a desire for a long time!
Think this is going to be a really long NASCAR race.....but think Jr. has a shot---has been running well. Led once, and getting ready to do it again! One big wreck already.
Ceil, you are seeing "A Bronx Tale" tonight....never heard of it! I sure was disappointed in the Streisand concert last night on TV. BTW---it would be neat if Jimmy comes in Oct., as well as Frank and maybe Mits could convince Jay and Jo her Ed!!! The more the merrier.
Lynn you are right It is a Bronx Tale never heard of it. Glad gd is not interested in learning to drive. The lawn mower is good practice.Boys seem to want their license right away. BBL
Fried fish because of the heat, Ceil??? My thermometer is reading 96. Did my good deed for green world--found a just-hatching gypsy moth cocoon on a joist under the deck---killed what looked like about 50 of them! Hopefully that means one less tree that will get damaged. We never seem to have enough here to qualify for spraying, but there are too many in my opinion! So destructive. And they can blow a mile on the wind. If you drive up through western MD, between severe ice storm 5 yrs. ago and gypsy moths, there are hardly any living trees along the interstate.
I know I am, Ceil, but it doesn't do itself, and Bill can't help anymore because he is always working at the businesses. I have alot on my list, too, getting ready for June 16....that's when Mom and sis come in from MO for Mom's 90th birthday celebration, so I want everything well-spruced up! Sharon, I remember when you all told us about Andrew getting his license.....it was last year. I wouldn't mind a bit if Jess waits that long! My sister isn't ready to release "my" car that I bought for my mom back in '96...and that will be her first car---old but in good shape (so far!) w/ relatively low mileage. M0om stopped driving when she left FL in '05--the car only had 20K miles on it then! Now sis drives it to alot of Mom's apptmts.
60 MInutes tonight is having a feature about an elephant orphanage--should be interesting...and don't forget the baby mammoth show on Nat'l. Geog. channel!
I was lurking MAMMOTH - any of a genus (Mammuthus) of extinct Pleistocene mammals of the elephant family distinguished from recent elephants by highly ridged molars, usually large size, very long tusks that curve upward, and well-developed body hair
OK, Wanda....was watching the exciting end of the race....Jr. ended up 2nd. Bad wreck at the end. 60 Minutes has the elephant orphanage story. The baby mammoth story is on Nat'l. Geog. channel....it's about a baby mammoth that was discovered perfectly preserved by archaelogists in Siberia. If you don't get the channel, I'll tape it for you.
Will be interesting to learn what they think caused its' death.....obviously had to have happened right before the ice moved in---the Pleistocene era--none of the three contestants got that right but I did!
I remember when i had the double pneumonia a couple of years ago, wow, neve have been so sick in my life....and I had the shot a couple of months before it too.
Just finished dinner - Catonsville daughter brought up meals - I am so thankful to receive them (even though they are somewhat spicy) It sure gives Ed a break! That was the first full meal I have eaten. So that in itself shows I am on the way to recovery.
I did hammies on the grill last night....had a VERY strange sound coming from the grill---I think from the tank. It was scary! I was afraid it was going to blow up. I use it too much year round for anything to build a nest in the tubing, so Bill seems to think it is maybe the regulator or the fact that the tank is low on gas. Will have SIL check it out tomorrow.
Mits, I have had the shot and the booster shot (I think - I am going to check Tues when I go in cause it may not be time for the booster) But why did I get pneumonia. Maybe the shot was not for viral but for the bacteria pneumonia. Nurse Lynn - do you know. I also need to find out which one I have.
I've enjoyed the opportunity to check in often with Hidey today and glad to see that mama spent a good bit of quality time there. My question is...does anyone agree that the nest looks a wee bit crooked? I find myself having to tilt my head to see Hidey correctly while she's on the far end edge of the nest.I hope it's not leaning...
Mema Jo ate a full dinner - first one since Thurs evening! She is taking her meds and feeling stronger - breathing is good and not much coughing. I'd say she is recovering. Two daughters, a son and a grand daughter visited for a short time today.. Brought food! I'm on the mend. Go to surgeon for leg x-ray tomorrow I can walk around the house without support. Of course there are lots of object I can grab onto if necessary. I use the cane outside. Hope he says I'm good to go and that the bones are knitting well. I wonder what will be next!
You going to come in for the nest visit once it is scheduled. When did you want to come - end of May or first of June weekends.....You call it!
Hi Carol! Good to hear from you. The nest has so much fluff and extra sticks that may make it appear different. Looking at it every day I can't tell a difference.
remeber they had to go back and put gorilla tape after it slipped the 1st time, and this time think one of the eagles moved the cam, but nothing they can do til the fall....the nest is study and secure and not leaning.
WOW! Well Welcome Carol! There is another Carol from WV So if you want for us to tell who we are commenting with - maybe your log in could also include the initials of your state.. It isn't WV or is it? lol
Jo, vaccine is for pneumococcus bacterium. Guidelines say: Persons vaccinated prior to age 65 should be vaccinated at age 65 if five or more years have passed since the first dose. For people with lack of spleen function (such as in sickle cell disease or after spleen removal), transplant patients, patients with chronic kidney disease, immunosuppressed or immunodeficient persons, and others at highest risk of fatal infection, a second dose should be given at least five years after first dose. They used to say to repeat it every 10 yrs. I had it for the second time two yrs. ago and had an allergic reaction to it! So don't think I'll be getting it again.
Mrs BLuebird is nesting on the Wild Watch cam and the osprey is incubating her egg(s) and the herons are up on the 20sec image cam. Now I'm going to the Lake WA eagles' nest.
Hedgie Thanks - I really was going for the 10 yr booster shot. I need to talk to my DR I didn't have any reaction to the first - I guess I'll take a chance on the second time around. I'll let you know
Thanks everyone for the welcome and the replies. I've been watching daily now for about a week and today the nest looked pointed downward, but I'm reassured by your comments. Funny how maternal one gets after only a short while! Carol-NJ
Sharon, someone my husband knows in a chatroom sent the site to him. Never saw anything like it before. Addiction? He thinks I'm nuts... The cam is always up and on my son's laptop as well. It's a family obsession! Will call throughout the house, "MOM'S IN THE NEST!" My 10 yr old daughter is very attached.
I love seeing new people who get so excited about this nest. It has been such a blessing not only to witness the awesomeness of these parents but also the awesomeness of my fellow bloggers. Some of the best friends I have ever in my life had!
Carol, I started watching in 2006 and my whole family thought I was an obsessed idiot. Now my sister has panda cams, eagle cams and osprey cams up all the time. She has to do it on 2 computers because she doesn't have enough room on 1.
It is a great family show! A lot of parenting skills to be applied to us humans! You'll need to advise your children they have it much better then the birds do especially when Mom & Dad say 'you're on you own Out you go'
Can't watch - there is a pecking fight between the 2 little hawks. I know it is nature's pecking order but that is one reason I like having just one other then 'just one' is lonely.
The wood duck is still incubating the 17 eggs. This box the hatched duck drops to the ground. A large amount of wood duck boxes were down at Patuxant River and those duck would be jumping into the water. Softer landing I suppose.
CAROL in NJ---you are certainly close enough to make a weekend visit!!! NCTC Open House is 17 Oct. Make your reservations in Shepherdstown or Martinsburg NOW and come join us!! (I say now because it is also Apple Harvest weekend which is a really big deal here!)
The orphaned elephant story was a re-run, but worth watching again. Loved the coconut oil massages they were given. I didn't hear where the funds came from to run the orphanage...did anyone hear that?
Nice fundraisers for Mason. Anyone noticed that it's always Brian and Syl doing the updates now....know the girlfriend is away at school, but haven't seen anything from her in a long time. It is what it is....
Wanda, thought this was a revisit to the orphanage. He said they had been there 4 yrs. ago. I probably missed it then because Mr. Bill controlled the remote back then...LOL!
I can still have adventures, they just won't be as often!
I just heard from some friends from the Osprey Project. They are going to be in Yankton tomorrow-Thurs., so we are all getting together on Tuesday evening--should be fun!
Hi all! Well, that took forever! Reading the blog! LOL Talkative group here!
MITS........Congratulations Grandma! So exciting to be expecting a new grand-baby.
JO.....So glad to see you have been on today.
DEB,......Best of luck with the new job. Hope you enjoy it. So much better to enjoy your work. We are going to miss you! But, we will see you in the evenings. That is when I am mostly on. I just can not be on during the day when I have things to do.
I wanna go visit Megan at Market. I told here before, I would be her number one customer! Get me near plants and I go crazy!
wELL, I hope you all watched the NFL Draft AND the NBA Playoffs ... which are still going on by the way ...
I watched quite a bit of the draft and kept a cybernetic eye on the Celtic-Bulls game. Some veerrrry interesting picks by the NFL teams ... we have a great crop of players this year.
And the Celtics got shaded in double overtime.
Last pic of the night for BWO has her standing in the nest next to her egg. Either slowing incubation or getting ready for the second egg.
Both Hidey and the BWE chicks are stretched out, cooling off and snoozing, waiting for the T-storms expected.
Su Lin is lolling around and stretching this way and that ... like a teenager ... on top of her giant stump structure.
Yeah, Magpie, it looks like Hidey is up and perched on the edge of the nest again.

for our cam? Mine doesn't open.

Shar and I were talking about June....I hope we won't be too late...as rambunctious as Hidey is and the way she's maturing, wonder if we should maybe aim for the end of May. What do you think?
Well, the Northern Flicker is over there fighting for his nest with teh starling. I wonder who will win?? They are both in the hole right now.
Deb, it's really nice that you were able to do that! Always have loved the joke that says we should be retired when we're young and then go to work after we're old!!
Added the article to my blog page with the pictures. Everything in our Sunday paper is not available on-line so I had to scan the article.
I like the comment he makes about the nest cam - "It's like The Discovery Channel, only it's live and there is not talking."
He just wasn't listening to Hidey talk.
:)
Trees are finally starting to leaf out here....about time...seems to be a week or more behind in-town trees. Need some shade!!!
You might need 2 flickers to fight 1 starling.
If you all feel the last weekend in May would be better Go For It. It is after
Memorial day week end so traffic shouldn't be as bad.
Jo, it is great to have you back and blogging, I am so glad you went to the doctor and got on the meds so quickly!
Hidey is trying to eat by herself, now Belle is feeding the hungry eaglet!
Nice article, Sara, thanks for posting it so we could all read it!
That was a big bite that Hidey wanted and Belle decided was too much to eat at once!
That's a great article, Sara....so glad you posted it...bet we will get a lot more watchers now!!!
Hidey is feeding herself.
Jo, you and Paula are our experts....it's up to your best thinking!!!!
Time to get a couple of things done...lots of breaks in this heat...BBIALW.
Let's wait for Paula's input on best date.
Also all you out of towners need to give input about your coming into Shepherdstown. What say you Sharon? Sara? Maybe Loretta would be able to come but I know she works some Saturdays.
I need to go take a rest now.
Ate my lunch - appetite has been non-existent. Surprised I held up this long. Panda Nap Time.

Well, the starling came back out of tree and left but I haven't seen the flicker yet.
just putting my 2 cents worth in, would it not be better to wait til she has fledged so we can actually see her out of the nest, instead of in it, she is not going anywhere too soon, and would be nice to see her fly and land near the tree.
And I don't know if I have reported this already but Mr. and Mrs. Grosbeak paid me a visit today!! First time I have seen her this season.
Oh, Grobeaks, huh? Red-Breasted like on the WV tag I have?:
that's about the only way I will see them, fabulous bird..and,
WV has discontinued this tag, can you believe it ???? so I have a collector's item
Want to see it, Sharon ☺

Yes, Margy, that is the same grosbeak. I did not know they discontinued those plates though. :(
Good morning everyone...
I see Hidey has not only learned to stand up like a big bird recently, but he/she is perching on the nest edge like a big bird too!!
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
That should have been Should I make the reservations for October
She sure is Jim. Did you see the parent a while ago with wings spread for shade!!
By the way, Megan says that in past posts when she said she saw Tom and Sandra...they have been walking through the market and she said they look really good! ☺
But today, is rather hot, so she didn't expect to see them today .
Jim it gets kind of scary sometimes. Too close to the edge.
Hedgie Yay - no reptiles or creepy crawlies !

and the reason I might have to cancel at the last minute is...THE M&M GIRLS ARE GOING TO HAVE A BROTHER OR SISTER COME OCTOBER 21ST, OR AROUND THAT TIME:):):)
Now the starling is carrying leaves and grass into the tree. I would surely like to smack it in the face!
I just talked to Kevin. He called and needed some information. I am sure we will be able to get rid of the rooms if we need to cancel.
YEAH, MITS!! M, M AND ??
October 21 is Sissy's husband, Tom's, birthday!
T-Bird was here this weekend. She is headed back home now but stopped at the lake to get on the boat with Sis, Tom and Mattie. Of course, Buddy is with her too! :)
Mits ! ☺ ☺
That is terrific news !
And with this being the 3rd, they ARE going to find out the sex of baby Kalis this time....I'm thinking yet another girl:)
I think Jimmy is going this year. When I got back Tuesday I said we had such a great boat ride. Boat you did not tell me you were going on a boat. I said you did not listen to me. He was having some back problems. Oh I better go get things out of the dryer.
so by the time baby is born, Maggie will be 3 and Molly will be 2.......:), don't know how they do it.
I think we will understand if you need to cancel, Helen ☺
You could probably hawk any rooms you have reservations for and make a cool profit !
Lynn... plants are in little boxes of dirt, so I will transplant them, no flower blooms yet, that part is up to me!
It would be nice for them to have a boy but another girl will be great. Will pray for all to go well. I told our Bishop the other day. 3 in 5 years. He said WOW. Sorry I am talking to much.
Ceil, you are not talking too much. Glad you are here! :)
No such thing as talking too much when it comes to babies and children, Ceil
No such a thing a'tall.. ☺
headed in for a little nap, got the idea from JO !
TTFN Sure is fun to spend the afternoon with friends !
Bishop probably thought they were a good catholic family...lol
oh stop it, you are not talking to much Ceil....
I just pray all with be well, and in God's and His blessed Mother's hands.
Well you can tell the Bishop you know someone whose sister married a widower with ten kids, and then they had five more!
'Bye.... ☺

I just saw Hidey winging it. That girl is good! Perching - jumping - wings a flapping! WHoo Hoo.
I forgot to take a nap. I'm too tired to move from my comfortable computer chair.
I am being call for my 2:00 bath... Bet Ed thought I had forgotten...lol
yes grandbabies are the bestest:)
MITS - the excitement never wears off!
CONGRATULATIONS
No finer parents/grand parents to be blessed with their 3rd.
Now for the bath!
BBLIS
Lynn now the real worries begin.
thanks, jo, no it doesn't wear off....just heard a bee buzz by at the nest
HP at Finland nest
boat going by at Finland
beautiful O at finney's nest
off to store bbl.

And how quickly things change...back to 10th...but that's Talladega for you....anything can happen!!
I swear, I think Hidey is as big as Lib!!!
Looks like Hidey still wants to be a "lap baby" ha ha!! Big Baby!!
I thought so to, Hidey I'm guessing is a girl.
I bet that fish is smelling just right by now!
Lynn you are right It is a Bronx Tale never heard of it. Glad gd is not interested in learning to drive. The lawn mower is good practice.Boys seem to want their license right away. BBL
Sharon they are having fried fish tonight.
That is such a pretty picture. Mom and baby looking out the nest together.
Wow OK nest is WINDY.
They are expecting strong storms again in OK
Fried fish because of the heat, Ceil??? My thermometer is reading 96.
Did my good deed for green world--found a just-hatching gypsy moth cocoon on a joist under the deck---killed what looked like about 50 of them! Hopefully that means one less tree that will get damaged. We never seem to have enough here to qualify for spraying, but there are too many in my opinion! So destructive. And they can blow a mile on the wind.
If you drive up through western MD, between severe ice storm 5 yrs. ago and gypsy moths, there are hardly any living trees along the interstate.
Out for next little job....vacuum out truck and set off a bug bomb in the garage. Saw a huge silverfish in their yesterday!
Lynn, you are working way to hard in this heat and humidity:(
Ceil, you are right, fried fish for sure.
Andrew didn't get his driver's license until he was maybe 19. I am thinking it was last year when he got it.
Looks like a little breeze at the sycamore tree.
Geog. channel!
What baby Mammoth, Lynn?
Love 60 minutes, but haven't heard about a baby Mammouth. Have they tried to clone one? LYNN....WHERE ARE YOU...COME IN OUT OF THAT HEAT!!
OH, on National Geographic...what time? LYNN...I TALKIN TO YOU (as Dustin used to say).
I was lurking
MAMMOTH - any of a genus (Mammuthus) of extinct Pleistocene mammals of the elephant family distinguished from recent elephants by highly ridged molars, usually large size, very long tusks that curve upward, and well-developed body hair
Ooops, Wanda...on at 9pm or midnight, and then Weds. at 9 and MN, next Sun. at 5 or Weds. 5/6 at 5. Lots of choices!!!
this past Friday night on Jeopardy they devoted a whole category to it
They sure did, Mits! Even told about the stomach contents--mothers' milk!
can't remember its name...Luna or something close to that.
Evening, all!
Got home around 5pm...been working in the yard...
Please no complaints about the weather...we've been waiting for nice weather for so long...
Hidey sure has grown! Looks like he is longing to fly...
off to put hammies on the grill...bbl
Will be interesting to learn what they think caused its' death.....obviously had to have happened right before the ice moved in---the Pleistocene era--none of the three contestants got that right but I did!
well glad you are back among the living again, Jo:)
Congrats again Mits! All grandbabies are exciting!
Hope the weather stays this good for Saturday when you do the run at NCTC, Paula.
I remember when i had the double pneumonia a couple of years ago, wow, neve have been so sick in my life....and I had the shot a couple of months before it too.
Back outside for awhile....
Just finished dinner - Catonsville daughter brought up meals - I am so
thankful to receive them (even though they are somewhat spicy) It sure gives Ed a break!
Watching Hornby Island
Can't get the wide view open - wanted to see if the other eagle is up there watching.
Mits, I have had the shot and the booster shot (I think - I am going to check Tues when I go in cause it may not be time for the booster) But why did I
get pneumonia. Maybe the shot was not for viral but for the bacteria pneumonia. Nurse Lynn - do you know.
I also need to find out which one I have.
Hidey has been at that spot all afternoon or at least every time I look.
Okay...it really is looking tilted down to me. Maybe the cam has shifted?
Carol, I just compared pics from last week and the week before that and the nest looks the same as then.
Link to Mason's update
And what is our latest Mema Jo update?
Bless Mason and his family's heart. He is really fortunate to have such loving family and friends. Not everybody is blessed in that way!
Mema Jo ate a full dinner - first one since Thurs evening! She is taking her meds and feeling stronger - breathing is good and not much coughing. I'd say
she is recovering.
Two daughters, a son and a grand daughter
visited for a short time today.. Brought food! I'm on the mend.
Go to surgeon for leg x-ray tomorrow
I can walk around the house without support.
Carol, we are pretty sure the cam has slipped some time after installation
Hi Carol! Good to hear from you.
The nest has so much fluff and extra
sticks that may make it appear different.
Looking at it every day I can't tell a
difference.
That is right Mits - seemed so long ago that they may have happened. Did we think Belle sat on it! lol
She sure loves that 2:00 position..
remeber they had to go back and put gorilla tape after it slipped the 1st time, and this time think one of the eagles moved the cam, but nothing they can do til the fall....the nest is study and secure and not leaning.
OK, so this is a new Carol on the blog?? Welcome!
WOW! Well Welcome Carol!
There is another Carol from WV
So if you want for us to tell who we
are commenting with - maybe your log in
could also include the initials of your state..
Can anyone get the Oklahoma site up?
I am home, need to feed the dogs and me. So far, I can't get OK open, just black screens.
Carol-NJ
WOW! Lake Washington is STUCK in the dark on April 25!
Carol, lots of us have issues with eagle cam addiction but I so enjoy watching this pair. How did you find the cam?
Wild Watch has 10 sec cams up on the burrowing owls and the barn owl.
Jo, unless they took a sputum sample for te3sting, they won't know what kind of pneumonia you have.
WOW! The 2 little red tail hawks have
grown!
A lot of
parenting skills to be applied to us humans! You'll need to advise your children they have it much better then the birds do especially when Mom & Dad say 'you're on you own Out you go'
The nest thief starling is standing on the branch acting like an idiot. Flapping wings and squawking! ARRGHH!
Did you plug the entrance to the bird house?
Can't watch - there is a pecking fight between the 2 little hawks. I know it is nature's pecking order but that is one reason I like having just one other then 'just one' is lonely.
What a marvelously sweet and sad and happy story about the orphaned elephants in Kenya. Wish I could go there. Unrealistic bucket list wish.
The wood duck is still incubating the 17 eggs. This box the hatched duck drops to the ground. A large amount of wood duck boxes were down at Patuxant River and those duck would be jumping into the water. Softer landing I suppose.
I am taking a break
Checking out TV in my recliner
BBL
CAROL in NJ---you are certainly close enough to make a weekend visit!!! NCTC Open House is 17 Oct. Make your reservations in Shepherdstown or Martinsburg NOW and come join us!! (I say now because it is also Apple Harvest weekend which is a really big deal here!)
Parent, our nest!
Adult brought in fish
Hidey best get some.
WHOA! Big bites.....
Yes, I'm back when I saw adult was there
Hidey is getting dinner! Big pieces!
I'LL DO IT MYSELF MOM lol
Wanda, thought this was a revisit to the orphanage. He said they had been there 4 yrs. ago. I probably missed it then because Mr. Bill controlled the remote back then...LOL!
Can you get the NatGeo channel???
LOL...maybe too big...spit that one back out
Glad we have a night light.
It really is Hidey's bedtime
She'll sleep well with a full crop
Here it comes
what a feast!
POOF Feeding Duty done
Can't believe she is doing that already
Jumping and winging it! She is doing it quite often these days!
Here what comes, Jo?
There comes Spidey!
Right back to 2:00 spot!
Well in that case, it's time for me to turn off cam!
Hedgie - I thought a Poop Shoot was
coming! But I didn't see it because I was typing.
I hope they fix the pop up cam
and I truly wish they would give you the option of keeping it on top!
Hedgie you can only see the slivers of the web - not Spidey himself
Night Guard Adult has entered the nest
Welcome Carol in NJ
Adult just dropped back in...has more fluff
Getting Hidey's bed ready for the night
Phone call came in
Missed the adult leaving........
Trying to catch up on the other threads...
Jo has pneumonia, but is recovering....must be the viral kind, Jo - or a different strain than your shot.
Deb is going back to work tomorrow. Didn't know you were in town, close enough to walk...that's pretty nice! Good luck on your first week!
Now I am going into my recliner.
BBL
Hey Mits...even with a sonogram, "it" will still be what "it" is, they will just know what "it" is...
gonna go eat now...
yes, Paula, they figured just try something different this time.
I'm heading for the sofa recliner! Time for Cold Case and then The Unit. BBL!
Hi, Paula!
the poor HI, site is being plagued by nasty trolls...all those people want to do is watch their eagle hatch
shutting down for the night...ttut:) have a good day Deb, will miss you alot:(
I am trying to be positive, darn economy!! Who knows I might like it!?!
I will miss all of you also. I will be on in the evenings!!
DEB...You can't go back to work! Reading about your adventures has become a bright spot in our day:(
If you don't like the new job, you can always come back to us...no pay but lots of accolades:)
Stopping in to say Deb good luck tomorrow. We will miss you.
Pleasant dreams all.
I can still have adventures, they just won't be as often!
I just heard from some friends from the Osprey Project. They are going to be in Yankton tomorrow-Thurs., so we are all getting together on Tuesday evening--should be fun!
Glad you will be staying in touch with your adventuresome buddies, Deb.
Sounds like fun, Deb.
I never did see a post, or maybe missed it...did we have a hatch yet at HI??
Paula, it really sounds like a hatch. You can really hear the baby chirping now.
Am I seeing things? Or is Hidey hanging out on the side of the nest?
Are we refreshing?
Just getting back on after being away a few hours....maybe there is more to be revealed
Good Night to anyone heading for the pillows....Special Best Wishes to you, Deb, on your adventure in the morning. xo ♥
wELL, I hope you all watched the NFL Draft AND the NBA Playoffs ... which are still going on by the way ...
