GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... Well, that was certainly educational and SAD. Like Jo said, we sat with coffee-in-hand and P.J.'s on and watched history in the making. How fortunate we are to witness all of this. We know that the babe will be taken care of and will return to the skies one day. AMEN
I've switched Norfolk off now,, it's such bad bad news for mum and dad,,,But I think the little one is in good hands and will have a very good chance now,, but I think it's been in a way, both kinds of a day,, both sad and happy.
DANA PET:::::: You have been marvelious bring this blow by blow newscast to us all,,, THANK YOU,, and please try hard to chear up won't you pet, he is in the right place to get well and live a long life.
love and hugs to all eagle watchers. Chrissy XXXXXXXXXX
Wow- thanks for the play by play Dana- couldn't stay inside and watch. You know it is sad for the parents in one way, but if you look at it another- the eaglet may have died without interference from man this time, so in the long run this is its best chance for survival. And as much as this pair has gone thru this year to produce this chick I really want to see it survive- back outside- later
All your doing now is working yourself up into a depression,, I can hear you getting so upset and your breaking my heart pet,, please pet stop now before you end up in a heap of tears on the floor.
God is so so good. I was hearing a chirping outside my window by my computer. Got up and looked. It is a baby robin and I watch while Mom fed it. Now tell me that wasn't mean't to be for me to see ( : ( :
ADULT in our nest Don't really see any food but something may have been dropped that Pearl grabbed.. Yepper I think she did! Don't know if adult is going to let her have it but she isn't moving off of it!!!
Bad AM. At least NBG baby will be treated and OK hopefully. When I first got up, saw Dad and Daughter hairy woodpecker at suet. He was giving her breakfast--reminds me of Dana's comment. I have pics of them I will add to my others that are almost ready. Paula, I had the volume up for NCTC cam and when we heard that banging when I was on WVEC, my hubby said it sounded like someone shooting!
SHARON....haven't had time to sit , but am looking out everynow and then for dolphins...guy has been here and fixed heat and AC, blown fuse...simple fix....
Helen, how exciting!!!Now we have to get you a pregnant female! LOL
If I lived closer, I'd be at Zoo a lot. Of course the Warden does not want gas "wasted". Not keen on me coming to NCTC in June. Very depressing. Maybe I'll run away from home. I may have to delete this.
This bald eagle nest is located in the Delta municipality, a little south of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, not far from the Tsawwassen Ferry terminal. There are two small eaglets in the nest. David Hancock thinks the first one hatched May 5, 2008, and the second one hatched May 7, 2008.
By the way, Tsawwassen is a Native Indian word, and the T is not pronounced.
Laurel, my daughter, is at school. A librarian at another school sent it out to all the teachers. Laurel forwarded it to me, asking if it was one of "my" nests. Love it!
So disappointed that I couldn't get the Norfolk cam to work. Thanks for all of you running commentary! Can no longer get Scottish cam, either.
Chrissy---spent part of my morning making SCONES! My 4th grader granddaughter has to take something edible from her country of heritage to school tomorrow as part of their cultural studies, so good ol' grammie made the yummies!
Great Eagle site, Lolly. I finally got it up. Jo, that idea would still use gas!DUH!! I'll pay for it! We're not destitute! I mentioned open house in Oct. & that was agreeable for both of us to come. BUT THE BABIES WILL BE GONE! I better be quiet on this subject, We will also be getting out of town guests that weekend (his relatives - they don't need to see me!)
Good afternoon all, we have had a full morning haven't we? Dana, you were a blessing to all of us. It was a thrilling but sad two and a half hours. Thanks Dana, you did a great job. Sharon, glad your toe is better. So sad for NBG, but I am so thankful that Buddy will get the treatment he deserves. Mits, will you blow a kiss to the dolphins for me?
Urgent prayer request for family of Stephen Curtis Chapman, Christian Music singer and composer, his older son backed out of drive way killing the 5 year old. Wonderful Christian family needs prayer right away. Thanks so much dear ones. mauley
Just read on the tragedy for the Chapman family. She was 5-year-old Maria, one of three girls they had adopted from China. How sad for them and especially for the brother that hit her! God bless them!
1st examined chick is back up with mom & dad at the nest box.
This is the 2nd chick to be examined. They explained that the noisy protest is only because of not knowing what is going on - not due to being hurt in anyway by the banding.......
Mauley, will be praying for the Chapman family...Their poor son, especially, that's a hard thing to accept! Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Hugs, Iris
I think we need to find out more information on our eaglets getting band. «Oldest ‹Older 201 – 329 of 329I am glad to see their response to the eaglets need for treatment, even though it leaves an eampty nest for the adults
Norfolk Botanical: The adults will hang around for several days before leaving the nesting site
It is sad, but thank heavens it is getting the best treatment. I was wondering this morning if it was affecting its breathing or its eating.
Norfolk Botanical: The adults will stay around the garden but will not stay at the nest, just as they would at the end of a nesting season.
Thanks again DANA!---My heart aches for the PARENT EAGLES too---
I posted this earlier and decided to post over here too:
From me: I am just wondering when "buddy" is well and released. If they will have a transmitter on him. To follow his where abouts and health.
I don't know what those noises at our nest were...didn't seem to bother the eaglets.
almost sounded like a misfiring tractor
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...

Norfolk Botanical: Dr. Sleeman does not think this is avion pox
Norfolk Botanical: This has a larger mass than avian pox
Norfolk Botanical: He will wait to see what lab results are before stating disease

It sure does, Mits! Have you sat on the balcony drinking coffee and watching dolphins yet? Wish I were there!
Norfolk Botanical: He will ask that the testing be expidited
HAHA, I think I figured out what was on my sound at the nest...thought it sounded weird....it's the little pop up noises from the chat room at NBG!!
From me: They said press conference is over. I have exited the chat site.

I thought to tell you when I seen your comment. Although I wanted to wait alittle while to see if more was told.
Your comment helped my tears with a chuckle ty

Megan - that is the best way to look at this situation. It is the best outcome for Buddy and his parents.
Bad AM. At least NBG baby will be treated and OK hopefully.

Well it is an hour and a half until more eagle show time! Need to get some things accomplished before then.
BBL
I just love simple fixes!
Chrissy, toe is a lot better.
When Lib/Belle came in the nest a few minutes ago, they landed right on the middle chick at 9 o'clock position. Could not have felt too good!
I am sooooo excited, just got word, I will be on the list for PANDA CUB WATCH......training next Wednesday at 6:30pm.....
YOU GO, OUR PANDA GIRL!!
Two eggs at WW osprey site.
How exciting, what all will you get to do on the Panda Cub Watch?

Naturenut, where do you live?
Here is the information on Lolly's eagle nest:
This bald eagle nest is located in the Delta municipality, a little south of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, not far from the Tsawwassen Ferry terminal. There are two small eaglets in the nest. David Hancock thinks the first one hatched May 5, 2008, and the second one hatched May 7, 2008.

Thanks DEB!!---Just checked it!!---WIND IS BLOWING LIKE CRAZY!!!---Have you watched before?
DEB---OREGON is looking a lot like XMAS!!----Hard to believe!!
No, this is the first I have seen it, Norma. It is a good view.
Thanks Deb! I had not found it yet. But, did see that this cam had just been added to a cam list just this week.
Yes, it is, I check it earlier today and was surprised to see all the snow.
This cam has sound and you can double click it to get full screen. Neat cam!
Just posted 1 set of pics on this blog called May 20 Eaglet. 2 to go later.
Sharon, I live in Forestville, MD, SE of Wash. DC.
I finally googled it to find out where it was, I got the info I posted off of a video of the nest.
Lolly - Deb
That site is awesome.. Little chick just popped head right up.
So windy....... Marked it as a favorite
DR MITS
Panda Watch - that is awesome - you just might be on duty if and when a
little cub is born! That would be sooooooooooo cool!!
Naturenut- offer to bring your boss up to WV real eagle country in June!!
I sure hope you can come up & join us.
Laurel, my daughter, is at school. A librarian at another school sent it out to all the teachers. Laurel forwarded it to me, asking if it was one of "my" nests. Love it!
Well, back to the yard. BBL
So disappointed that I couldn't get the Norfolk cam to work. Thanks for all of you running commentary! Can no longer get Scottish cam, either.

I knew Andrew hurt his foot
I knew nothing about your toe
I guess it is Limpy and Gimpy
at your house! lol
Urgent prayer request for family of Stephen Curtis Chapman, Christian Music singer and composer, his older son backed out of drive way killing the 5 year old. Wonderful Christian family needs prayer right away. Thanks so much dear ones. mauley
DONNA---I just saw that earlier on CNN!!---Will certainly keep the family in my thoughts & prayers!!-----GOD BLESS!
Just read on the tragedy for the Chapman family. She was 5-year-old Maria, one of three girls they had adopted from China. How sad for them and especially for the brother that hit her! God bless them!
Good almost afternoon Donna and Nature ( : hope I havent missed anyone. If so sorry and Hi ( :
That eaglet nests as far as I'm getting. Is located in BC Canada. Not the Sidney one. Need to check more out about it.
Mauley/Donna, Prayers and blessings for the Chapmans. So sad.

HEAD ON OVER TO PA FALCON SITE
STARTING WITH THE SCHOOL KIDS
Terrible about Steven Chapman and family ...PRAYERS.....
Yes on Pa Falcon cam live cam is showing the lady talking to group of school children.
Mine just got stuck.....
Buffering
WOW Now it is on........
They already have the falcon chicks down
She is very vocal, just as I say that she got quiet.
awww...so cute and noisy
Back to protesting!
1st examined chick is back up with mom & dad at the nest box.
This is the 2nd chick to be examined.
They explained that the noisy protest is only because of not knowing what is going on - not due to being hurt in anyway by the banding.......
Have to go be a taxi cab for a couple of hours. BBIALW!
This poor little one is confusing the experts!
Didn't know it was educated guess work on the sex of the falcon...
Don't we do blood test on the eaglets - but does that help determine sex
This banding is soooo interesting! I love it!
Bloodwork for DNA tests can determine the sex
Too bad they don't have two cameras going, so we can see when they get put back on the roof.
Hurry up & put those baby falcons back on their ledge!!!
How could you be sooooooo close & not
reach out to touch...???
Well especially for the kids (big kids too) lol
Mauley, will be praying for the Chapman family...Their poor son, especially, that's a hard thing to accept! Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Hugs, Iris
I wish so too, Deb
I want to see up on the roof at the nest box! They may all be hiding like the San Jose's did after human contact........
There is a cam pic of the nest box
I got kicked off and just signed in the site again. There was adult on top of the nest box but no chicks in sight
I was just thinking the same thing! Let's get back on the roof and watch the reunion with the parents.
I imagine there are classrooms on line watching this and this Q/A session is very good for them.
He is something else trying to explain mating of falcons to that age group. Did a very good job of it!
Going back to the yard. BBL
I got the cam picture up on the home page, but I don't see any birds. The time on the clock is 1:51.
OMG, that eaglet needs to be more careful.
I have been very impressed with all the speakers. They have done very well with the children and I like the way they talked to the falcons. :)
Now I have both parents at the box.
I had seen one adult on top of the box but no chicks. Time & date are correct so I think it is accurate..
I think we need to find out more information on our eaglets getting band. They need that number on them..so information can be recorded on where they go and where they end up nesting when they mature.
We gotten the cam going...Let's think about how we can go about getting this accomplished. Through Dept. Of Wildlife or how?????
Are the men in the background washing windows?
And there they are!
The men are gone, maybe it is construction. It looks like there is a lot of scaffolding.
They are all laying down, probably exhausted.
Yes Deb they were washing windows this morning also.
Four tired out little falcons
sleeping away! lol
I need to get going, but so much to watch today. BBL
Parent back at PA
Whoa! The Turkey Gobblers have
taken over the PA woods!
Went over to see if Isla had a second hatching yet.. I think it is overdue.
She is just nesting and is quiet for now.

Really enjoyed watching the banding!!----Those kids were so SHARP!!---Were they about 4th or 5th grade?--They were so COOL---Asking so many interesting questions !!
Happy 10 weeks to our eldest eaglet!!
What is that in our nest they are eating...I gotta go look back!
Both falcon parents were back at ledge, now both lesft.
They are SO loud & our kitty slept thru the whole thing!(course she's indoor cat, but would like to get out.)
Some sort of Mammal...been then for hours...I don't know when it was brought in
They have been snacking on it all day
More nibbling our nest - Mystery Meat & a sneeze.
Finally read back on the blog...must have been what parent brought in at 11:15 as noted by Jo....eaglet wouldn't get off of it!
