Good morning Megan and Normabyrd!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

No, Normabyrd. No white water rafting for me. Have a huge fear of the water, feel pretty safe in a pontoon boat but not a canoe or kayak. Have to work today but just now trying to get started. Been lazy this morning.

It;s not hard Norma pet with the time difference pet,,,,,
When I get up,, your all still in bed,

The SCOTTISH OSPREY MOM stood up---ONLY SEE 1 CHICK & 2 EGGS!!---Really windy there!!!

Chrissy Beahan said...

Isla doing some housekeeping and the chick is getting quite big now,,beautiful close up on the pair of them,,,,,

STILL 2 eggs just lying there,, I havn't seen isla or Angus turn them now in days,,, so I'm thinking that they both must know they are DUDS,,,,,WELL, one healthy chick is better than nothing,,isn't it,,,,,
Blimey :::: Isla has just called me a lyer,, she has just turned the 2 eggs,,, typical,, don't kids and animals always call you that.

Osprey Chick being fed at Loch Garten now,, its so tiny,,,problem is,, it seems OVS [daddy] has 2 nests to look after,, so "EJ" has been having to go and fish for food herself at times,, which I think is rather dangerous,, leaving the little one for long periods of time,,,,,

STILL no sign of PA chicks,, parent still sitting on the pole looking at the nest box,,,

AND My beautiful darling Mei is lying out in the sunshine getting an early morning nap,,oh Bless that angel....

Good Morning Megan, Ceil ( hi and bye), Chrissy, Wanda, Norma, Sharon and Sandra and Carol if watching.

People have lots of picnics planned for today. Weather is beautiful...but I need to stay OUT of sun.

wvgal_dana said...

Chrissy what 2 nest is this OVS looking after?

Chrissy Beahan said...

Dana pet,

There seems to be a shortage of MALES at Loch Garten,, and I read this morning that OVS [orange banded Osprey] is comutting between 2 nests,,,, and the wardens think he is splitting himself between 2 Ladies,,,
I may have read it all wrong,, it was very early when I read it and i'd only had one cup of tea,,[not properly awake]

If you go onto the site and click on the right hand side " FOR YOUR INFIRMATION",
you can see names like " HENRY " who they thought was "EJ'S", mate.
and so on,,read from there pet.

Good morning Norma,Chrissy, Dana, Sharon !!!!

Chrissy, the cam site you sent us the other day......I could not get to it. Could you send it again and we will give it a try?!!! Thanks you!! :)

Not a good morning here. Think I caught something from Chrissy. Coughed all night! Then my favorite coffee mug broke in the dish washer. Boo Hoo!!

Hurriedly went to PA site. Still no babies in view.

Going to daughter's today. Son and family will be there as well. Going to grill hamburgers and have a great day! Just wish we were not having such hot weather!!

Wish all of you a great day with family.....or a great day doing what you want to do!! :)

paula eagleholic said...

Afternoon, Chrissy.

Hmmm, interesting about OVS...that would be a first I think

Morning all. Bacon sounds good! Think I'll have some too.

Eaglet at this end was yawning...looking right at cam! So Cute!

Lolly said...

Good morning Paula. Did you get to that cam Chrissy sent the other day? When I went to it I got a message something that the page I requested was not available.

Costume Lady said...

The last time I saw the Falconettes, was either the day they were banded or the day after. A good part of the afternoon, Mom & Dad Falcon seemed to fighting off an intruder. I couldn't see it, but they kept screaming and flying after something. Maybe the intruder was successful.

Dana - it looked like it was loading earlier..but I went off and read the blogs...so I'm not sure...I think they have a limit on the number of viewers...this is a very popular nest in the UK...so I imagine it is really loaded with viewers and hard to get on...

A line of showers and thunderstorms will continue east...into the Interstate 81 corridor of the Shenandoah Valley through the early evening hours. Scattered thunderstorms along this line...from near Staunton to Winchester...with more isolated thunderstorms developing across north central Maryland...will have brief heavy rainfall...gusty winds...small hail and cloud to ground lightning. A tenth to a quarter of an inch is expected across much of this area...with locally higher amounts as the line moves east near 30 mph.

If you can get a picture of the tree, try to get one that shows where the camera is and where the eaglets will branch to on the 7th. It is probably different than I have pictured it in my head.

paula eagleholic said...

Will do, Deb. Last batch just fledged...don't think they ever branched really...

deb said...

Ok, thanks, Paula. I know you can't get too close, so it might not work. I will be at the hospital picnic while you are all meeting. At least, I won't be sitting around wishing I was in WV!

NOTICE: We are planning to band the Seal Rocks chick tomorrow morning and the Two Harbors chick tomorrow afternoon.

Costume Lady said...

Hi, Deb & Paula...was wondering if anyone saw more than one chick at Pa Falcon site?

Costume Lady said...

Oh, I hope Dana knows that...she watches Seal Rock often.

deb said...

The falcon cam that you get from the Colorado eagle nest site has chicks. (The falcon nest is in Minnesota)

deb said...

I didn't watch this afternoon, so I don't know about the falcon chicks at PA. I sent Dana an e-mail about the banding, just hope she checks her mail.

Thanks for posting that schedule, Deb.It is totally different since it was first announced.

Does anyone remember when the heronettes hatched? I don't. They will fledge about 60 days after hatching.

Mema Jo said...

Deb I didn't record any dates of hatching for the Herons. I just remember your sending pics around with the one egg having a crack -I think! They look large enough to take off out of that nest. I may look on one of the other forums to see if anything was recorded & I'll let you know....

I went back to my videos and on April 8th there were two heronettes and two eggs. So they will be there a little while longer. Fledging should start around June 5-10th.

I have been wishing all weekend that out of the blue a comment from
Suzanne would appear here on the blog!!

I have been trying to keep Suz updated on some of sites that I know she loves and I think others do too...so she is probably inundated with email. I think she is glad to hear from us even if we do duplicate info.

Jo, heronettes wingercise is ready.
