p.s. The presentation I'm working on wouldn't make much sense by itself, it's designed to go along with a script which isn't on the slides themselves... I'm sure I could figure something out though!
OK, I'm really getting frustrated! I CAN NOT GET THE LUN LUN CAM TO COME UP!" I even downloaded the latest Media player and still problems problems problems! Only on my home laptop! Anyone have any ideas what this is about??
Vicky I don't know if you are using the new link today that I think gives you media player, but maybe if you use the link just on the Atlanta site you might get it in that way. Its worth a tyr. Here it is if you don't still have it.
Vicky - you might want to check your internet settings for your browser - maybe you have it set to not play the mediaplayer stuff? Can you see other live cams?
Lun Lun seems to be sleeping now - she's pretty still holding her lil one close & keeping it hidden from view
Hello everyone. I am back. Was gone quite a bit longer than expected but it is all gravy baby! Watching Lun Lun and Frieda. Getting ready to check on Tai and Mei. Nilla, glad to see you on here. You know we all love and miss you when you are not here!!!!
Vicky Just about 1/2 hr ago, I couldn't get the cam up for LunLun even though it said 'playing'. I have gone back in & it is up & running now. Maybe just try it again.
If I watch the cam much longer than 10 minutes my computer slows way down - I guess the video card memory gets filled up - have to restart computer to get it to move 'right' again
Well just tuned in on Tai and he is perched sleeping right there on that spot.. I just get so upset about it.. Why cant they put up some kind of barrier above it just high enough he would not rolled off.. Can we e-mail them and asked??? Sharon sorry i was out of breath when you called had just walked from dining room to living room. Yawn i open store tomarrow 9 and leaving at 12 to come home get ready for doctors... Dana you have any appointments in Winchester tomarrow? Mine is at 2:20 which means prolley 3 or so..lol
DOLPHIN COUNT FOR TODAY-0, DOLPHIN COUNT FOR YESTERDAY-DOZENS! I don't even have a regular camera down hear. NILLA glad to see you back!!! Bike Week starts this Thursday, they are expecting 120,000 bikers here. Gets quite noisy, but, they do generate alot of money for the city.
Nilla, I see his little butt hanging off. Wish Mei would go move him back again. I should have never watched that video where he fell off. Makes my heart drop now when he gets so close to the edge.
Mei tried her best to pull his fat little butt away from the edge. BTW, that video of the big fall was in the other den, and, after that incident, they closed it off, but, I agree, wish they put a net up there. But, knowing him he would crawl into the net and scare us that way.
I know Sharon i have even took my mouse and tryed scootin him back.. You would think someone would notice he is endanger of falling like he did in that video.. Right before i left worked checked in and there was a real close up of her tail all of sudden it went back and Ewww She pooped.. sicko running the cam
Vicky well we tried. Could just be the business of the end of the weekend. be sure to try tomorrow. Most ly all we've seen except for maybe 2 secs (LOL) is that big ball of fur called MaMa LOL.
So happy To see nIlla in here tonight. Sure will be thinking about you and your Dr visit tomorrow. Not sure how the last couple of days have gone for you ,but let him know as accurately as you can, what happens throughout the day, and the timing of the meds as you take them in relation to those different feelings as the day goes by. Hope that makes sense.
Sharon Glad you made it back from your Barb-B Q-..you have a little wax catching up to do LOL.
Oh my Sharon just thinkin of all those BIGGGGG BURLEY HAIRY CHESTED MEN GETS MY MOTOR RUNNING..LOL but 1 would prolley make my heart stop and i need to get O2...LOL
Any one hear about Marion Barry...arrested for drunk driving...what an idiot, I can't believe people in DC voted him back into office as a DC Councilman. Cocaine addiction, income tax evasion, drunk driving...what's next!
Sharon riding is so much fun.. just get on wrap those legs around your man and arms around his waist and he leans back wind in your face .. Fantastic.. Girls i am talking about riding a harley ...lol
Hey i wonder if they showed those kids Our Eagle Nest?? did not say in the paper.. Bet we could have got 1 of those kids to climb n get the turtle shells.lol
Oh goodie more wax - I've started quite a collection - think I'll use mine to wax inner tubes for snow tubing this winter.... think we'll get any snow?
I have a nephew who is 12 years old, little feller who loves to climb. There is no doubt in my mind he would head right up that tree with no ladder, bucket truck, nothing and fix us right up!
well early morning tomorrow - so sweet dreams of soaring eagles and healthy growing fuzz balls :) Have a great Monday everyone! Suzanne - good morning to you - and tsk tsk tsk - you didn't get hooked up this weekend - hurry hurry! LOL
THANK GOD, I LIVE IN MARYLAND. But if any election were held tomorrow, he would win. The people that vote for him think he is being persecuted. As a human being he is a disater and the most dishonest person that ever stepped foot in the District of Columbia.
News just said we are gona have a big cool down in the weather.. More at 11 pm news.. Space shuttle is doing good... I have seen several take offs unbeleivable power n fury of those engines... If i didnt get down to see the lift off i watched on tv and then looked out my front door and directly up straight ahead it would be going over n up then drop off that part.. The big rooster tail of the shuttle is huge across the sky.. I bet the Landing down in Jacksonville is hopping tonight as they won... Oh Next wknd RedSkins plays Dallas at Dallas,,,
Paula, very fleeting glimpses is all! Maybe she is afraid somebody will still a picture and publish it in the Enquirer. You know how these celebrities are protective of their babies and she is quite the celebrity these days!
I swear, it gets really hard to maneuver all these screens on my monitor. I need a much bigger monitor, one of those huge flat screens would be nice. Christmas, maybe?
Sharon i bring them up 1 at atime .. them minamize it as small as i can put freida in the right hand corner then get Tai up mini it and put it under freida..Then Lun Lun she is mini and put beside Freida and any other cam like NU is put under Lun Lun .. This screen is made mini and stuck in the middle of everything most times...lol
Nilla, When my dogs want attention when I am on the computer, they come up and nudge my whole right arm up and off the mouse! Then they get their head inbetween the chair and the pullout keyboard, and they push the keyboard right in! Have to pay attention to them then!
WOW It's only raining a little bit, but I just lost power for a brief second. Long enough to knock me out of everything. You know what I mean, MITS.
Mits Lights of Remembrance Oh man, that was such a peaceful & reverant way of remembering 9/11. Five years have gone by & I still remember the very instant it happened. Don't want to go there.
Well i put him over on the love seat back .. He needs a grooming bad.. Maybe tomarrow i will use that shed ender brush on him they work really well Paula..
Paula, that is funny because Buphals will stick his cold nose in my armpit and then just lay his head on my keyboard. Then he starts talking to me, not barking mind you, just talking!
I can give my dogs treats. The other 3 sit pretty for theirs. Buphals has to speak to me for his. If he barks loud, I tell him he is too loud and he needs to speak. His voice totally changes then. I love him so good but I love my other 3 too!
Well Good night all. Will BLOG at you tomorrow. Restwell. Sure glad that Freida or Frod isn't sitting there all drenched anymore. Now if Lun Lun would eat her little snack they stuck in there while they were enticing her with the apple she refused...all would be well enough.
Ah and then there's 9/11 and 3000 families will honor as best they can those who suddenly were stolen from them as the rest of us Remember what surely does not seem like 5 years ago at all! Rest in "Peace" tonight because you do live in the Land of the Brave and the home of the Free. OH and We got SPUNK here too!!!
Good morning Suzanne. Why did you not show up on here over the weekend. What is that? You haven't hooked your internet up yet? Get on it, we need you on the weekends too!
Paula & Suzanne Just remember to tell you something..... Going up RT 15 North just before the zoo on the right - turn left into Catoctin Mt Park Picnic area. Off to the left is their Bird Refuge... I am told they have an eagle, osprey, hawks & owls. I may go up to check it out. My daughter reminded me that we once saw them on display at an event & that is where they came from......
Today Is Sept 11,2006 5 years after the world stood still and our tear filled eyes fell upon the tragic horror of this day in NYC...The Pentagon in DC...And a small field in Pa.................................... When the towers fell. Our world was shattered. Back then we understood. We, knew what Mattered.
Up the staff Ol’ Glory went. On every home she stood. Bowed maybe and a little bent. Bright the colors Grow. And strong the message sent.
Now that time has passed. Memories have begun to fade. "We The People" of these United States still fly "OUR" flag... I love the Flag, Old Glory, And what it stands for here, And when I see it waving, I want to stop and cheer, And lift my voice in singing Its anthems, loud and clear, And offer up a prayer to God, And even shed a tear I pray to God there'll be no more war, all the way from shore to shore. And may all mankind live in peace, and our need to fight will come to cease......She is today, unequaled to none, and where we can proudly say... Hip, hip hooray for our beloved USA!
I got to tell you, LUN has been getting a whole lot more sleep than MEI ever did. BTW, the FUJI exhibit for the pandas and other animals has been delayed for about a month, so, Mei, Tai and Tian will not be moving into their new quarters next week as planned.
A distinct Yankees twang from Hyannisport shores .
A silence fell within the mist,
Somehow the Newcomer knew that this
Meant time had come for her to say
What was in the hearts of the five thousand plus that day.
"Back on Earth, we wrote reports,
Watched our children play in sports.
Worked our gardens, sang our songs,
Went to church and clipped coupons.
We smiled, we laughed, we cried, we fought,
Unlike you, great we're not."
The tall man in the stovepipe hat,
Stood and said, "Don't talk like that!
Look at your country, look and see,
You died for freedom, just like me."
Then, before them all appeared a scene
Of rubbled streets and twisted beams.
Death, destruction, smoke and dust,
And people working just 'cause they must.
Hauling ash, lifting stones,
Knee deep in hell, but not alone.
"Look! blackman, whiteman, brownman, yellowman,
Side by side helping their fellow man!"
So said Martin, as he watched the scene, "Even from nightmares, can be born a dream."
Down below three firemen raised
The colors high into ashen haze.
The soldiers above had seen it before,
Back in '45 on Iwo Jima's shores.
The man on sticks studied everything closely,
Then shared his perceptions on what he saw mostly.
"I see pain, I see tears,
I see sorrow -- but I don't see fear.
"You left behind husbands and wives,
Daughters and sons and so many lives
Are suffering now because of this wrong,
But look very closely... you're not really gone.
All of those people, even those who've never met you,
All of their lives, they'll never forget you.
Don't you see what has happened? Don't you see what you've done?
You've brought them together, together as one".
With that the man in the stovepipe hat said,
"Take my hand," and from there he led
Three thousand plus heroes, newcomers to heaven,
On this day, two thousand one, nine eleven.

And a link you might want to visit today when you have a little time. This is only one of the many beautiful pages you will find here, but I chose it to welcome you to the site.
Just one more comment and I'm off for coffee and dog treats.
On that day America saw the worst of human nature, AND RESPONDED WITH THE BEST OF HUMAN NATURE They tore into the foundation of out buildings, but they did not even fracture the foundation of our democracy on which we stand. I hope that History through the ages when they tell the AWFUL story, will also tell of the way in which we as a people called AMERICANS, responded.
Oh and of course I forgot to tell you about the shirt I am wearing. it is red white and blue and the stars are actually pawprints with the names of many of the rescue dogs who were there. There were more than 300 of them.
Here is an article written today about these dogs.
Dog Heroes of Sept. 11; a Tribute to America's Search and Rescue Dogs is a great record of the work done by search-and-rescue dogs and their handlers in the aftermath of the attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C. Author Nona Kilgore Bauer talked to 78 canine handlers to let them share their stories.
And what stories they have to tell.
The dogs range from German shepherds to Labs to border collies to Australian shepherds to golden retrievers, and the handlers come from fire departments and task-force groups from around the country. Some of the dogs were white-muzzled veterans and others were fresh from training when they got the call to head to the piles of rubble that had been buildings and search for victims of the disasters.
The common theme that emerges from the tales are the skills, dedication and honesty the dogs brought to their work.
There was Bear, a Lab from Pennsylvania who was cross-trained to search for live and dead bodies. One of the first to arrive, Bear easily moved over the giant pile of rubble, indicating 40 or more times that he had found someone.
His handler, John Gilkey, said Bear was a counselor as well as rescuer.
"I remember Bear falling asleep in a firefighter's lap," he is quoted in the book. "People would stop and pet him on the pile every day. They would discuss their dogs or ones they had owned and, for a brief minute or two, they had left the terror of that massacre."
The dogs became safe ears for the human rescuers to deposit secrets or just pet for comfort.
Handler Sonny Whynman of the New Jersey Task Force remembers his dog Piper soothing rescuers.
"One firefighter came up to me, with hollow eyes and sunken cheeks and desperation on his face. He asked if he could pet my dog. When he leaned down and gave Piper a big hug and whispered something in his ear, Piper looked at him and wagged his tail. When the fireman left, he had just a tiny smile on his face."
Several of the handlers relate how their dogs soothed someone who had spent the day uncovering friends and family members.
The book has photos of each dog and handler and also photos of the dogs working. Some of the dogs spent their time at Fresh Kills Landfill, where the debris from the World Trade Center was deposited. That's where they found even more remains.
The book, published by Kennel Club Books and selling for $29.95, also tells the aftermath of what happened, including whether the dogs faced health issues, what search-and-rescue dogs do and a photo exhibit of the tribute to the dogs done in New York City.
A portion of the book's proceeds goes to the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation.
It looks like they just let Tai and Mei in a different territory again and Mei walked over to Tai and put her head across his back. How precious is that?
I'm looking out my window and the next street over they are building a new condo, too bad the working immigrants did not offer up a moment of silence. JMHO.
Good Morning dear friends, My niece was giving a presentation on the opposite side of where the plane hit in DC on 9/11, and by the hand of God, she was unharmed. I know she will be remembering today as well as those of us who are continually praising God for her delivery and asking for peace in the hearts of those who still grieve (as we all do) the horrible loss in that tragedy. God Bless them all today. Mauley
Tiger cubs are out on cam #1, they are running up and down the stairs. There is a great story on their site about how they got ready for their swim test.
Think I will call this "I THINK NOT" Good Morning, Each and everyone one of us this morning woke up with heavy hearts remembering this day 5 years ago. I stand here with tears in my eyes thinking of those families who lost loved ones also those who still to this day lose loved ones over in Iraq and other countries where the USA is fightening for their Freedom.. Does it make sense?? Sometimes not, should we leave and pull out and let them just deal with those fanatics who want this power? I think not. This country struggles each day as do we people living in it merely to live and survive with our ecomomy..Oh yes we still fly our flags and wear the Red White and Blue, stand with hands over hearts when the Anthem is played,DID THE TERRORIST break our spirit's? I THINK NOT...
PAULA I miss her like crazy, not sure if they will have time for a visit yet. The kids still are leading an active social life, and Maggie just goes along with them.

Maybe just try it again.
and over she's rolled - now on her right side - such an adorable big ball of soft looking fur!
Looked at our Frieda album - did arrange them to fit the order of hatching. Added photos by Delphia & Jim are really great.
Didn't know until just reading the Power Point Slaves' remark that I need to now go over & check out Delphia's photos. BBL

Oh man, that was such a peaceful & reverant way of remembering 9/11. Five years have gone by & I still remember the very instant it happened. Don't want to go there.
Poor Barney...Good Night All.
SSSSHHHH!!! JO Don't mention lights going out, PEPCO might hear you.
Nighters Mits.. Yes its like where you where when JFK got shot or when the space shuttle blew up something you never forget..
Wish I had a dog....to come and nuzzle me off the computer.
LOL Sharon you mean that RoooooRooooo Rooooo Raaaa Raaaa CHATTER?LOL
I was 1 1/2 years old when JFK got shot. Don't remember that but do remember when Bobby got shot.

I knew someone would say something about my age then. Funny. I am just a babe!
He says "ri rov ru"!

I hadn't had any wax all day! It was my turn!
Mits beat me!! Oh well, maybe 400? Just not tonight. Goodnight all!!

Good Night.

I think it is time for me to call it a day on the blog. I know I'll check back before actually going into bed. I gotta catch Jim's comment....
Goodnight eagle buddies,

GOD BLESS AMERICA
Anyone see Freida turn around...she sure is quick, or does it slowly and we still miss it!
The first 2 golden retrievers I had, never barked. The last 3 wont' shut up!
Nitey nite, Mits, Sharon, Nilla, Jo and Glo...Hey, that just leaves me!
So,
Good Night Eagleland!
Good Morning, Suzanne
Jim, did you know your pics made it on Blackwater?
I love the Flag, Old Glory,
And what it stands for here,
And when I see it waving,
I want to stop and cheer,
And lift my voice in singing
Its anthems, loud and clear,
And offer up a prayer to God,
And even shed a tear
I pray to God there'll be no more war,
all the way from shore to shore.
And may all mankind live in peace,
and our need to fight will come to cease......She is today,
unequaled to none,
and where we can proudly say...
Hip, hip hooray
for our beloved USA!
I am with Mits. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Good morning Suzanne. We certainly do have 3 fuzzies. They are so cute.
Lun Lun is being a wonderful mother to her new cub. You need to get your computer done at home so you can watch her live and in person! :)
Good Morning, SHARON AND SUZANNE Yes, SUZANNE please get your computer up and running, you don't want to miss these fuzzies. NILLA beautiful poem.GOD BLESS THIS WONDERFUL COUNTRY OF OURS...NEVER FORGET 9-11!!!
I got to tell you, LUN has been getting a whole lot more sleep than MEI ever did. BTW, the FUJI exhibit for the pandas and other animals has been delayed for about a month, so, Mei, Tai and Tian will not be moving into their new quarters next week as planned.
Osprey at CT...MT nests at NU and BW
Tai is a sleepy bear this a.m. He really does not want to get up.
I just missed an eagle at NU got its tail as it was leaving the nest.
Just missed LUN turning to different position.
TWO THOUSAND ONE, NINE ELEVEN (2001-911)
Two thousand one, nine eleven,
Three thousand plus arrive in heaven.
As they pass through the gate,
Thousands more appear in wait.
A bearded man with stovepipe hat,
Steps forward saying, "Lets sit, lets chat"
They settle down in seats of clouds,
A man named Martin shouts out proud,
"I have a dream!" and once he did,
The Newcomer said, "Your dream still lives."
Groups of soldiers in blue and gray,
Others in khaki, and green then say,
"We're from Bull Run, Yorktown, the Maine",
The Newcomer said, "You died not in vain."
From a man on sticks one could hear,
"The only thing we have to fear."
The Newcomer said, "We know the rest,
Trust us sir, we've passed that test."
"Courage doesn't hide in caves,
You can't bury freedom, in a grave."
The Newcomers had heard this voice before,
A distinct Yankees twang from Hyannisport shores .
A silence fell within the mist,
Somehow the Newcomer knew that this
Meant time had come for her to say
What was in the hearts of the five thousand plus that day.
"Back on Earth, we wrote reports,
Watched our children play in sports.
Worked our gardens, sang our songs,
Went to church and clipped coupons.
We smiled, we laughed, we cried, we fought,
Unlike you, great we're not."
The tall man in the stovepipe hat,
Stood and said, "Don't talk like that!
Look at your country, look and see,
You died for freedom, just like me."
Then, before them all appeared a scene
Of rubbled streets and twisted beams.
Death, destruction, smoke and dust,
And people working just 'cause they must.
Hauling ash, lifting stones,
Knee deep in hell, but not alone.
"Look! blackman, whiteman, brownman, yellowman,
Side by side helping their fellow man!"
So said Martin, as he watched the scene, "Even from nightmares, can be born a dream."
Down below three firemen raised
The colors high into ashen haze.
The soldiers above had seen it before,
Back in '45 on Iwo Jima's shores.
The man on sticks studied everything closely,
Then shared his perceptions on what he saw mostly.
"I see pain, I see tears,
I see sorrow -- but I don't see fear.
"You left behind husbands and wives,
Daughters and sons and so many lives
Are suffering now because of this wrong,
But look very closely... you're not really gone.
All of those people, even those who've never met you,
All of their lives, they'll never forget you.
Don't you see what has happened? Don't you see what you've done?
You've brought them together, together as one".
With that the man in the stovepipe hat said,
"Take my hand," and from there he led
Three thousand plus heroes, newcomers to heaven,
On this day, two thousand one, nine eleven.

Very nice poem. Obviously from all of us, we know what is on our hearts and in our minds this day.
Our lives have gone on though and we are not finished here. Other things people are doing today.
Flying the Flag
driving with their lights on
wearing Red Whit and Blue
Back probably AFTER coffee and dog treats. Got some emailing to do.
Thank you, GLO, That is the only thing written by an anon on this blog, that has ever been worth reading. Beautiful heartfelt sentiments.
Mits, you know I am with you on the anon thing!!
Glo, thank you for sharing that with us! UNITED WE STAND!!!!!
Good Morning EagleLand!
It looks like they just let Tai and Mei in a different territory again and Mei walked over to Tai and put her head across his back. How precious is that?
What a beautiful story about the rescue dogs! They are such special creatures!
Tai was just doing a headstand in his tub. Mei is being really attentive to him this morning!
Those dogs healed alot of hearts working there.
Congrats, SUZANNE Heres' your wax.
OMG!!! Its back to "CUB IN THE TUB", have not seen that in a long time.
The pandas are outside, boy, that cub loves to climb.
I'm listening to the towns' sirens, its 8:46 a.m.
I'm looking out my window and the next street over they are building a new condo, too bad the working immigrants did not offer up a moment of silence. JMHO.
SHARON AND SUZANNE Thank you for your support.
We love you, Mits!
Sniff, Sniff, Sob, Sob!!! Thank you SHARON AND SUZANNE.
Mauley
Beautifully put, MARLEY, glad your niece was spared.
Tiger cubs are out on cam #1, they are running up and down the stairs. There is a great story on their site about how they got ready for their swim test.
Morning, all.
Thanks for all the beautiful poems and 9/11 remembrances.
I have been observing the momemts of silence today.
God Bless America

That ok, Suzanne, I just didn't want anyone to miss him.
I see him Mits. He is gorgeous!
That's ok, Suzanne, I can take them, just can't send them.
Mits,
Is baby Maggie going to be able to visit you at the beach?
I'll bet you miss her!
I THINK NOT...EITHER, NILLA!!!!
He is a beauty.....
Got to go take a shower, will post before I leave today.
PAULA I miss her like crazy, not sure if they will have time for a visit yet. The kids still are leading an active social life, and Maggie just goes along with them.
I know Mits! I was just being a smarta-- about the crow. :)

Mits,
Glad the baby is tote-able :)
