JUDIE, what about the finding that she is guilty of several counts of lying. How can those lies not be a link to her involvement with Caylee's death ?
Unbelievable and shocking that there was no justice for little Caylee today.
Casey's actions alone were pretty strong evidence of disregard for whatever happened to Caylee. So if she was negligent AFTER Caylee's death, it's okay, but because they couldn't prove negligence BEFORE her death it's not okay.
Some of the correspondents on Fox had a good point in saying that the Prosecution may have reached too far in their charges and because of that, they couldn't prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.
I don't know how they couldn't have come up with something to charge Casey with since they even admitted to the "drowning" while Casey was there.
My heart just breaks for little Caylee and the tragic loss of her precious life.
Rest in peace dear little one! You have not been forgotten, and never will be. We know God has you in His care....... ♥♥♥
I was talking with someone at work, and we thought maybe it was a lack of physical evidence, as Judie said. I think that would have sealed the deal.

Kay, I just saw your comments about Virginia Cornue. I have not seen her since we were children, but I expect is much like her mother, who is responsible for much of the recorded history of Huntersville.
Kate Cornue was a very intelligent, creative woman.

Margy, from what I am reading Casey Anthony was found not guilty and therefore she has been acquitted.There is a lot of emotion out there, but the jury hqas spoken. Their decision can not be set aside unless it can be proven that they were tampered with, threatened or in someways influenced in making their decision.There is no indication that this has happened and therefore their decision stands.IT IS A GOOD THING THAT A JURY"S DECISION STANDS. I respect that.

Okay, Kathryn and I must go do something about the canopy. We have it half assembled, but we had to stop because we were being devoured by mosquitoes. Now we need to go out and finish what we started.
I went to the store and purchased all kinds of mosquito repellent, etc., so we will be well-armed when we go back out.
On soap on a Slip 'n Slide: If you pour a whole bottle of grandma's dish detergent on the Slip 'n Slide, you'll end up with a mouthful of soap if you're not careful.
The mouthful of soap comes from sliding face forward into a mound of bubbles.

Well I have to go try my BASEBALL CAP!!!! Yes after over forty years living in North America today I am the proud owner of a baseball cap... Never have used detergent on the slip and slid for the boys. Too funny! Does Hunter slide faster? For Joseph we put two slip and slides together end to end. He runs so hard and slides so fast! No telling what he would do if it was slicker! The child is a maniac! LOL

Osprey Update:
At Park today, Greg K. came in on his day off this afternoon and got osprey cam working.I guess it was all caused by the power outage. There was a small silver box behind computer & he turned on some blue light & it went online!!!
Anyway, right before that nest only showed 2 chicks. I was getting worried. When Greg got there, the 3rd one was back in nest!Parent left a fish & I saw 2 take turns eating & all 3 were in nest when I left after 4PM.
Margy, I just asked Judie the same question about the judge. Also just saw on FB that the Feds COULD come in and charge her with violating Caylee's civil rights.....now that would be poetic justice.
Gee, Judy....no idea what that's about. And there's no Help menu on it.....need a puter guru to tell us about that!

LOL HODA ! What color is your Baseball Cap and does it have a team logo or some design on it ? If it gets too hot, take the cap off, dip it over the side and into the water and put it on dripping wet. So refreshing ! My husband and I used to do that when boating on Lake Mohave in Arizona's 110+ heat.
LORETTA, they do still use pig valves in that surgery. A year ago Barbara Walters underwent it and I believe she reported pig valve was used---there is a certain irony in that. ☺

The point is not that she lied. The point is that the lies are not sufficient evidence that she, in fact, actually killed the child. There was no smoking gun.
Does she know what happened? Is she responsible? Probably. Where is the proof that SHE actually killed the child? Try to be a juror and remember, the jury did not have all the information the television public had. No abuse of corpse as there was no evidence (proof) that Ms. Anthony dumped the body in the swamp area. Again, there has to be evidence and proof beyond a reasonable doubt -- what we FEEL does NOT count. She has been acquitted which means the jury did not believe she was guilty of the three possible murder charges. She was NOT acquitted of the felony charges of lying to law enforcement.
Judge cannot overturn as there is not yet any charge of jury misconduct. Feds can do whatever they want.

Ha, LYNN, what a difference 7 years makes, huh ? Sounds about right. It cost me 1200.00 plus material to have my AZ home painted in 2006. Judging from the pics of your beautiful place it was about the same size.
JUDIE, I'm so glad we have you to cut through all the emotion and tell us how the system really works. We get so used to TV drama, CSIing, etc., the neat tying up of cases and the bad guy always getting what's coming to him. This was reality---just as our nest and eagle drama is actually wildlife as it really is, not as we wish it to be. I think the lying charges are misdemeanors (sp?)rather than felonies. Casey may have already served enough time to cover them, or close to it. I'm glad it's over so I can't get back to my real life !
Judie, thanks for the input. Disappointing to say the least, how it all turned out. She'll be in a prison of a different sort for the rest of her life. I refuse to believe that it was a jury of idiots as many are saying. Certainly, and especially in the case of a child's death, they would not take what they saw in court lightly. You are good to remind us of what they did NOT have access to.

Spooky stuff~~~I took 4 pics today of the osprey cam. One w/2 chicks in nest, one w/flyboy back & flapping, one w/new fish & all 3 at end of day. I looked at them in back of camera at work. Went to download----not there!!!!And I never used camera again. Maybe putting it in & out of case pushed some buttons?? Twilight Zone.
Since it is past twilight, I have a few things to do & see a little TV, so may not get back. (I can always play w/fireworks pics!!!)

KAY...it is actually a very smart thing to do with a baseball cap. I might try that. I bought a black cap that has NORTHFACE written on it.Because of all of my hair I needed a large hat and this one fit. It did the job tonight and I felt good with it on.
JUDIE...you are very wise in regards your comments about the Anthony case.It is hard to take in the verdict is what I am gathering from the people who followed the case...I still believe her ultimate judge is HER MAKER and the Almighty's Judgement is what is the ultimate justice for the little child.I think that family is shattered and they have many issues to sort out.

Lynn, the canopy thing is sitting in the yard halfway put together. We could not finish it. It is pretty big, 10x10. We will need to get Will over here to help us.
I could not get it out of the store on my own. I dragged it over to the phone you use to call store personnel for help and requested that they take it to the register and out to the car. And it was on wheels.
I hope I have not overdone it. If a storm should be threatening, I do not know that we would be able to get it down, but it is also true that it will withstand a bigger storm.
There will be plenty of room for a table and some chairs. And I have a screen for it, so we can keep bugs away from us.

I've been busy, most of this day, going through a van load of clothes
which were donated to the Church's Clothes Closet. Clothing, toys, stuffed animals, games, etc. We had to unload the van because, Thursday, we have over a ton of food to load and unload, from the Mountaineer food Bank.

HODA, Canada's Turcotte case is interesting. That verdict meant he's "insane" and is a mental facility. Casey was deemed sane and able to stand trial, so I guess no such verdict was available to the jurors. You're right, it's all between her and her Maker now.

Good morning friends. I'm having a tough morning. I have been planning my class reunion and this morning had to make the executive decision to cancel my class reunion, boy am I disappointed. I went to a pretty small H.s. and only had 40 in my graduating class. We invited the class ahead of us and still couldn't get enough people to pull it off. I hate making decisions!
I hope everyone else is having a better morning.

DanaMo---so sorry about your reunion. I KNOW how difficult it is. I have to do it every year for our retiree group. It gets very discouraging. My Carolyn--along with basically only one other person--did her high school 20th last year....and they worked their butts off...if it hadn't been for FB contacts, they would not have been able to pull it off.
So rest easy with your decision. I will never understand why some people never want to revisit the past.....they may well regret it someday.
Shirley, my sister leaves her canopy screen room up all summer. She has hers on her huge deck. Anchors it with sandbags along the edges and big flower pots in the corners. So far, so good. Of course, she hasn't had a twister hit!

We have had a canopy on our deck for many years...too worrisome to take it down in the Winter, so, last year, Capt Gene started a permanent "canopy". He has built the frame and now it needs a roof. A silver tarp is stretched across the top in the place of a roof. Hopefully, this Fall, we can put up a permanent roof. We have our grill sitting under it, along the edge (works well there) and a table and some chairs. Love to sit out there in the evenings.

We're running on hot and humid in So Cal this week. It's probably part of the tropical storms in the Baja Cal. area. We never get rain in the summer months unless there is one of those systems to the south. So I wouldn't be surprised if it drops some drops on us this time too.

Wanda, are you and Gene out there having to get snow off the canopy---and now tarp to keep it from collapsing? Before my sunroom was added, the kennel was under the deck and I had a tarp over it. Just the amount of snow that fell through the spaces between the deck boards made it a nightmare to keep from caving!
Up to 81° here already.
I think it did go well. I just hope to give them more exposure to the those in our area who were unaware that WCV has been helping wildlife from all over Virginia, Maryland & DC.
They are in the process of planning the eaglets release for the end of this month or beginning of next month. Problem is they need to figure out how to supplement their diets as parents do for the 4 - 6 weeks after the fledge. I told her she should call Kleenex now and ask them to provide the tissues for the Release Ceremony.
In my head I kept thinking NV NX NZ @ WCV...K12, K13, K14 @ WE. For a moment I got them mixed up WCV is 2 girls 1 boy... West End was 1 Girl 2 boys.

Oh LORI, don't fall apart, your mom needs for you to be strong. Your friends here are praying for you both and I hope you feel those strengthening vibes coming through. You've been through a lot for such a young person and I just know you'll triumph over the fears you have at this moment. There are many public examples of people who've had the same or similar surgery and who are now living active lives. Barbwa WaWa, Larry King, Letterman, Bill Clinton, Charlie Rose, Robin Williams...the list goes on. Hope you'll be encouraged by the success stories out there. {{{{{{{{LORI}}}}}}}}
