Andrew called me this morning with concert dates. He is doing a solo with about 15 different percussion instruments and is so excited about it and also student conducting at one concert. He will graduate in December 2012 and is getting married tentatively June 2, 2012. 2012 will be a very big year for him.

We're back and Tori is sleeping soundly. Hedgie they didn't put her *under* with anesthesia, they decided since she was in a hospital setting and it took longer to get the hose in her throat and everything set up they felt more comfortable just IV'ing it.
Her best friend came along and they were goofing around after she was done and in recovery, prior to that she was cranky

Have been pretty busy this morning. The gardeners do the yard on Tuesday, so I've gotta clean up a bit before they get here. (I'm like my SIL, who's been known to clean house because the cleaning woman is coming!)
No, really--if there are plants that need to be trimmed, I gotta do it before they fill our brown (yard waste) trash can to the top with grass clippings! Otherwise, the clippings won't fit in there.

Parent at Decorah was biting at flies. It just moved a pile of fluff onto the chicks.
Decorah forum has named 1st born chick Trouble. Well not officially but members just sort of call it that LOL. Well why in the world :-). Not watching closely, but saw comment on here so went to check. I really really do not want to get attached to any age eagle at this point in this eagle season :-(
At Decorah, when papa flung "trouble", he was biting at the paw of some carnage in the nest. The name suits him ;-} They really need to clean nest!!

Andrew is in music education and will be a band director when he grows up. So proud of him.
Wow, Sharon, that's fantastic ! You have many proud moments ahead and we'll all be rooting for him, too ! I love band concerts and performances. Next month and through August I'll be enjoying Sunday evening band concerts at a nearby park. Community bands from all over central Ohio take turns providing the rousing entertainment.

That spot on his head is really alot bigger than I realized.

Hi, I see our young Romeo is sitting in the nest. Picture is better. I had not looked at the live feed for awhile. I've been pretty busy.
Finally figured out why I could not get the electronic gradebook to work properly--with the help of a fellow teacher--I was trying to make it 3rd quarter, but it is 4th. Now I can get more organized, but still have much to do. At least I can start posting grades.
Kathryn is going to need to use the computer tonight because she has to take care of her taxes. I still have to do mine, but she needs to get together with Tom, so it'll take them a bit longer.

I never felt it was Lib with an injury. I was there on March 18th Friday. Seen Belle, seen intruder, and seen Liberty.

I know you use the feeties to identify Lit, DanaWV, so I wanted to focus on them for a bit. It might be pretty hard to identify him once he gets his adult plumage, so we need to keep a close watch on this fella.
When you enlarge the screen you can see that the whole top of his head is black.
We'll have to keep an eye on the tail feathers as well...right now they are uneven, probably due to molting. But we need to keep a watch on the shape of the tail IE rounded, square, etc.

By the way I did find out. That for several days NCTC "DID SEARCH FOR LIBERTY-well they don't call him by name they say resident male". They found a Great Horned Owl dead but no eagle dead or injured.
Don't know if it's lighting, dirt or food, but I see some dark on the left side of the beak as well.
You can see lots of the dark today on top for sure...and the sides of head too.

Me DanaWV called and talked with Steve at NCTC. During our talk ask him about the search. He said they did several days search. Even another after Deb from Hancock forum ask for one. He mentioned they only found a Great Horned Owl.

Had a decent day today, but I am so tired.
Kids did reasonably well on the Poe test. Of course, they should have since I let them use the book and their notes. But some got grades in the 20% range. That is really sad.
It is not good to say to the teacher that you can't do a part of the test because you were absent when we did that stuff. And even worse to try to claim that it is the teacher's fault that you never made up the assignments, especially when back work is left on the board for several days. I don't plan to chase them down the hall waving assignments.

If those markings on that intruder are immature markings. They are going to change. So we need to find like Paula mentioned. Other ways to ID this intruder.

I personally could never use the
FEET to identify. I think the middle talon on all eagles is long in length.
The feathered collar or the Tail or
a small white feather on a shoulder or
a mark by the beak....those are the things I am trying to remember.
