New week thread.
Update: This morning a gentleman dropped off at the NCTC gate an injured adult bald eagle. The bird had been hit by a car near Harper's Ferry. We brought the bird over to a wildlife rehabilitator in Keedysville, MD. The bird stayed calm in the car, and was able to hop out of the transport carrier. Looked like a leg injury, but it could not fly.

Just wanted to let you all know that Tara's dad was taken off the vent at 9:50 last night and went peacefully at 6:30 this morning. She said to tell you all she was really grateful for your prayers. I have no doubt the prayers played a big part in the "peaceful" part.
HAPPY WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!!!!
Hi Lynne,
Please let everyone know that my Kristy just gave birth to a little boy. 3.3 pounds. Everything is good. He came out crying and breathing on his own. Not a bad weight for 29 weeks , 3 days.
We are not allowed to go till tomorrow but Kristy phoned just after her water broke and right after she delivered. She was calm as could be. Mom was a wreck.
Her fiancée got to cut cord and then he went with doctors to preemie unit. Everything looks good and I have all of you to thank. Prayers help move mountains. And yours helped bring us an EAster miracle.
God Bless You all
I hope to be back on blog soon.
Hugs
Bev

Oh well it's on here twice - wait - I'll delete mine. Sorry Lynne.
Glad he went peacefully Sharon.
OH, and CONGRATULATIONS you are the latest recipient of the POOP SHOOT FACIAL!
Lori, last year they laid their first egg on April 18! Wish I knew for sure if it was the same pair....
Bringing these over:
Margy - did you say the other day you have never seen a red headed woodpecker? I have seen 1 and he landed on my garage roof peak twice on the same day - the most beautiful, glorious red on his head that you will ever see and will never ever forget!
Hey Lynne GREAT news about the baby!
Pretty cool about your baby bluebirds - or soon to be. I could watch bluebirds forever. They are so cute and what gorgeous coloring.
So sorry to hear about Tara's father. That's a difficult decision but one he was probably grateful for.
Good morning!! Glad everyone survived the stormy weekend.
Put a GPS on the birds Lynne!
LOL! Isn't there a book on Banding Bluebirds? :)
I probably could get the birds banded...there boss at Irvine has a banding license, i think, as does one of my cooworkers.
There's a special license needed to band birds? That's great.
Congrats Bev on the birth of the precious baby. God is so good.
And I do believe I am looking younger already! GO PSF!!!
Hello Red and Sharon.
Time to get going - wrap it up and hit the road!

Good morning again everyone! Congrats Bev on the grandbaby! Many prayers for sure!!! Hope everyone has a good day. I have already showered and been to Walmart this morning!!!
My question, is the facial 'applied' by a bird or do you put it on yourself?
Just saw my male towhee, now all I need is the catbirds and phoebes.
I'm back and so pleased to know Bev's grandchild has arrived and is doing so well. Thanks, Lynne2 !
Sharon, will be thinking of Tara and family as they begin to reflect and celebrate her dad's life. He's received the ultimate promotion and suffers no more.
One life ends and another begins. The cycle of life goes on.
Sharon, congrats on the PSF ! So, in answer to Megan's question, was it delivered by a bird or in a special delivery packet for application at your convenience ?
Sissy Bev, so glad you took that shower before going to Wally World. I'm sure you've all received those grotesque pics of WalMart shoppers---some of them haven't seen the inside of a tub in ages ! I no longer even open em' if I can tell what they are by the subject line.
HAGD, Lori and thanks for the big hug earlier ! A good way to start the day !!!
Yes Lori, bird banding is a pretty delicate thing to do and because there are laws protecting all songbirds, you need special training and permission.
MY towhee is across the street, singing his little arse off. I never see the towhees with the exception of the Great Blizzard and then one afternoon while I was outside reading several years ago. I've seen the Pheobe, but no catbirds yet in song or sight. And no Wood Thrush yet either.
Now, good news for y'all. I'm going to shut up and just lurk as I begin to putter around the house.
Happy Eagle watching ! ♥♥♥
woops, I was wrong, just found a nature journal that I started last spring and forgot about....DUH. And rechecked my pictures...first BB egg last year was on the 16th of April.
Other things....first time hearing Wood Thrush was on the 29th of April and first Toad seen was on the 30th.. I'm going to do better this year taking notes!
Catching up with you early-birds!
Still on old thread.
Lori, I guess my mental health is in the sewer----I go weeks without ANY hugs. Hardly ever see my favorite huggers. :(
KayIM....great relations with my girl's in-laws, too....we're all a bunch of huggers and kissers! I've always been thankful for that.
BTW----this group is the same way!!
Thanks, Robyn, for update on Anne Marie. What a busy gal!!
Margy, it's Bob Seger that the southern delegation is going to see. Lucky gals---he's one of my favs!
Loved this post by KayIM

Kind of says it all indeed. Prayers for Both families each celebrating in their own way.
Oh, my....tears of joy here for Bev and her daughter and SIL-to-be and the new grandpa, over the wee little boy. Don't understand why the grandparents aren't allowed......think I would have "refused" to deliver if my mom wasn't at least in the waiting room!
Shar, please give Tara andher family my sympathies. He is in a much better place now, with no more pain or suffering.
I thought that same thing Glo. One life ends and another begins.
Hedgie, if I lived close, you would never want for a hug. I couldn't live without hugs!
To answer the earlier question - carrier pigeon! :-)
And yes, I am going to see Bob Seger on Saturday in Greensboro. Although, I am pretty excited about a concert I will be attending on Friday night. Andrew is student-conducting an arrangement at a concert at WVSU Capitol Center Theater.
Thank you, Shar! ((((HUGS)))) to you! Just wish I could see my kids more often. Too bad they have to work....too bad I'm not a millionaire so they wouldn't have to.
ahhh Sharon, I saw Bob Seger back in the 80's when I was in Canada. Saw him at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. There was so much weed being smoked there that I got high on second hand smoke. lol
LOL Red! I saw Seger in the early 80s myself, during the Against the Wind tour.
Same tour I think.
The great thing about getting to see Bob Seger at this stage in my life is that I might actually remember it.
JERK IN THE NEST.
Good morning!
Whoops! Turd Bird just flew in!
Eagles are not supposed to be that daggone ugly.
Truder in the nest
Well, I need to aplogize. Never cam back to ethe blog to say good night. Yesterday evening I fell asleep outside. Jack and I were sitting on the front patio and I just put my head back and fell asleep. Then last night I tried to read and fell asleep. Jack woke me up to go to bed.
Great view of that scruffy looking head
I agree with you, Sharon! Nothing much appealing about the TB!
Poof!
Well I checked to see when Bob Seger was at Maple Leaf Gardens and it was 1978 and 1986. I lived near Toronto both of those years and am not sure which one I went to. lol
Off to the left at the 10 spot
LOL Red...still not sure huh?
I lived in Erin, Ontario from 1977 till 1988.
No Paula, I didn't clutter my brain with dates back then. Diane can probably tell us. haha
Bev....congratulaions on the arrival of your grandson. Blessing on his life! So tiny!
Sharon, so sorry about your friends father. Prayers for that family.
Lynn, so sorry about Christie's money woes. Laurel still can not write checks because of someone stealing her personal info. They have tried to get it straightened out, have the police report, but it is still a mess.
Lynne, how exciting to spot the eagle.
So, after dozing outside and then sleeping before going to bed, I then slept 8 1/2 hours last night! This is not me! Hopefully today will be better.
Going to spread mulch today. Do not like this job, but it has to be done. Gardens are looking good. Took pictures Saturday of the roses on the fence. Will let you know when I get them loaded.
So, now I know the secret to keeping my cam going for a long time. Yea, me! Slow learner!
And, (((HUGS))) for you, Lynn!
Lolly, I hate the SMELL of the fresh mulch!! And must wear gloves, or end up with many tiny splinters!!! Luckily, I've mostly been able to have someone else do the work! It takes 4 pick-up loads to do what I do.....and this year is the year to have it done again.
Passover blessings for any and all Jewish momsters/dadsters. I sent Geula a card, but don't know if there is anyone else or not.
Congrats to Bev and her family...strong little guy!
Lolly, you must have needed the sleep!
I've been craving chocolate for the past two weeks. I'm happy to say the craving is being satisfied. lol
LOL Red, there are a few concerts I know I attended in the 80s but don't know who or where!! Now, at least I can remember who and where, sometimes not when so much! Oldtimers replaced partying!!
Jo just called from the beach house. All is well. She is cracking the whip on Ed and Kristen!! No winter damage found!
The arrangement that Andrew will be conducting is "It Is Well With My Soul"!!! Love, love, love that!!! And that concert is more important than Bob Seger. I wouldn't say that about anyone else (except Mattie) for sure!!!
Sounds like ya'll will be on the road a lot this weekend, Sissy and Sharon!
Yes, spreading the mulch is a back breaking job! That is why I do not like it.
I am now off to eat breakfast and then walk. The scales were good to me this morning. Now down 18 lbs. Wahoo! I am melting away!
Have a great day everyone! So glad to get a good report from Jo.
Yes we will Paula! And Saturday Tom is going to be putting our new camper in our site! I will go there on the way back from Greensboro. My brothers are going to come and help him, Thank God.
Oh, Sharon....I love that song and music as well! Fantastic!
Nope Lolly! Not Sharon, it is Sissy!!! LOL!!! I get called Sharon more than I do Beverly!! Too funny!
Good Morning every one. I just caught up with the blog, I am on Pacific Time three hours behind you all. A death and a birth...how sacred it is this journey we call life...and all the happenings in between. It is good to start my day with the blog...I stop for a moment or two and know gratitude...
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
It IS a good morning...my new porch is in the making. Old porch took 3 hours to tear down and they found the squirrel nest...POOF!
THIS COMMENT IS FOR BEV:
My first grandson was born at 28 weeks and weighed 3.5 lbs. He was in the NICU for 6 weeks. He is now 23 years old, 6ft. tall and weighs 200lbs. His health has always been good...never missed a day of school in 12years and never missed a day of college in 4 years! He comes to see me every Friday and has a VERY hearty appetite, AND, he is quite handsome, if I must say so myself:)
So, don't fret over the size and weight of you new grandson, he will be just fine and we will all pray for him to be able to go home with his Momma & Daddy very soon♥
Lynn, I hate the smell of mulch, too. And LOLLY, I also hate to spread it. I do it on my hands and knees and that saves my back.
Home for lunch will scan for bold to see if we had any vistors besides the one on nest now LOOK so small Nest looks fluffy
Gosh took Dex to Marina to walk and get some photos of flooding and we couldn't walk. Road is closed to get through but found a place to safely park for some photos. He is not so happy with me but if you can't get to the parking lots you can't leave the car unattended so...Then we came home and i was going to fix it with a ride in the stroller. Got him buckled in and out of the garage when 2 stray dogs went by. I can't take a chance trying to stroll Dex with stray dogs running through so unbuckled him and we are in the house. I gave hm a treat but my usually smiling dog is kind of sulking beside me on the couch right now. I will try to fix it again later if it doesn't rain.
Tell Tara How sorry I am and she will be in my thought Oh no how it was when I lost my dad
Hey tell Tara that her dad spirit will live on in the new one that was just born I believe for every birth there is a death and maybe his soul will be in Kristy new little one and congra Lynn
Get ready for a nest visit. It's my nap time and theres always a visit when I'm away. Enjoy!
ccccccccccccccccccccccc
Good Morning,
Everything.
ccccccccccccccccccccccc
Is everybody alright back there?? I've been reading some nasty stuff.
C(°ٿ°)D Jim
We are all OK, Jim!
Off and running back to work OK not running driving LOL
Sissy, I love that song, too! Hope you can record it!!
Jim, we are all good.....Megan is probably the only one of us with worries. Her gardens are VERY WET.
When we put the boat in the water Saturday, I saw 3-4 osprey! I was so excited. We were so busy and the weather was nasty, so we didn't get to go for a ride. When we went down yesterday to put the top on, I saw 2 osprey! They are really growing in population on Claytor Lake. Can't wait to go to Dublin Hollow and see the bald eagles. We have been looking for them for years on that lake, always in the wrong direction!!
Of course, Sissy, you know that we will expect photos!!!!
Remember a couple of months ago when I fell and busted my face up while taking pictures for a Train fan video? Well, I am sneaking and sharing this link with you all so you can see the finished product. Not available everywhere just yet.
Trainiac video
My sister is now a celebrity!!! What a great video!!
Hedgie, both times I was at the water, I didn't have my camera! I think osprey are second only to a bald eagle. They are such beautiful birds!!
***hole in the nest!!
Oops, I mean Truder!!
Must have been a touch and go, nest is MT
He didn't stay long, I don't see him.
He popped in, moved a stick or two, and left. Acts like he lives there!!!!
Probably hasn't seen Belle for a while, and figured he had a good chance of running into her here.
LOL Sharon ONLY you
Our Star
Hahaha. I just looked in at Atlanta's Panda site, but I couldn't see any animals for a while, until Lun Lun strode across the pic, obviously walking off her bamboo lunch. And here comes little Po tripping along behind, trying his best to keep up with the grown-ups.
C(°ٿ°)D Jim
Back for my early afternoon fix !
LOL Sharon, carrier pigeon, huh ? Now we all know what to expect if a PSF comes our way ! "All Is Well With My Soul", a personal favorite. What a grand thing it will be to see your son conducting !
Lolly, my Walkin' DVD arrived today, along with a "Stretchie Resistance Band". I'll be "off" for a walk in about an hour !
JudyE,you won't find T's visits in bold, but go to 10:34 and 1:27 to get in on his drop bys.
I love reading about the bird sightings, gardening, concert attendance.... Provides a nice break several times a day !
Glo, thanks for the honorable mention earlier---you're so sweet ! Talented, too---love the way you captured Sharon's picture for us !
Starling alert, our nest.
Sharon.....I don't remember you telling about WHAT you were doing when you fell......all's well that ends well! Cute!! Now we just need to teach you how to walk on train tracks, track beds, and how to climb aboard or de-train!!!!
Loved it! And now that it's on FB----the whole world will see it!!!
Congrats to you and to our Thelma, too!
Caught up on reading the comments. Didn't get up for good until noon.
I think I'm in a backwards flow.
Missing Ed something terrible.
No I haven't found my camera. At this point. I don't think I ever will. So gone with the garland and many other things.
I seen the "young thing" in the nest awhile ago.
Wonder if there is a dummbies book for young male eagles.
I watched Paula's video and I think that boy has been watching the wrong kind of sex movies.
Was so happy to hear Anna Marie is ok.
I am happy to hear that Bev's Grandbaby entered the world with that cry ( :
Sorry Tara's father has passed but I know she wanted him to go peacefully. Which he suffers no more. Prayers for Tara and family
and friends.
Lynne2 you see an eagle in the city WOW!! Neat!
Sharon your pride and joy will be putting on a beautiful performance.
Thanks Sharon I enjoy 'loved' the Train video.
Ha Ha now that is cute Glo !!! ( : ( :
Dana, too bad you can not call your camera, like I have to do with my phone to find it. LOL
Sorry, Sissy! Saw the Eagle Eye and thought it was Sharon. ☺
Loved the video, Sharon! You and Thelma are rock stars! LOL
Lynn and Wanda...I do not mind the smell of mulch...I kinda like it. We use hardwood mulch as it does not float away like some. I do like the smell of the others better.
Flugg thief was just in the nest.
Day sure flies when you're having fun--NOT. Trying to do as much Easteer cleaning as I can today, as rest of the week is shot--all my work days are rearranged at different places than normal, have to work on other day off because of retirement party on Fri., work Sat!
Thoughts and prayers for Tara's father and family.
Then congrats for Bev's tiny GS.
All in God's hands.
Sharon & Sissy, great accomplishment for Andrew & someone gets to a real rock concert! And it's NOT TRAIN????
BBL, I hope. I konked out, too, last night & never got back.Gotta keep moving while I'm on a roll! LOL
Having a hard time keeping cam running today! Go figure. Anyone have sound yet?
Sun came out and it started sprinkling. Duh!!
Hi, Everyone,
I'm finally getting it in gear here.
Slept in late this morning, and it felt GOOD. Fell asleep in front of the TV with Emma last night.
Sharon, so sorry to hear that Tara's dad has passed. Glad that it was a peaceful transition, though. Prayers for Tara and her family and friends.
Lynne2, thank you for the happy news from Bev. God bless that little one--he and his family are in my prayers. Bet that Bev can hardly wait to hold him! There's nothing quite like a brand new little person! :o]
Sharon, great Trainiac video! Your face looks great, too--must be the PSF! Seriously, though, glad you're all healed up.
Glo, sorry your plans with Dex got messed up. Darn it, WHY do people let their dogs run loose?! Hope you are able to go for a walk later. Give Dex a hug for me, please, and tell him that Emma says "Hi!"
Well, I have a LOT to accomplish today, so better get a shower and get going. Will check back in later. Have a great day, everyone!
Well I'm off for awhile.
Try to get at least something accomplished.
Dex is speaking to me again. He has had treats and a stroll. Its all good
Did you read Steve's opening thread post ? Poor Eagle. Hope the Wildlife Rehabilitator is able to bring it back to full throttle.
wow, that's new....wasn't on there when the new thread was posted this morning.....now I wonder....IS IT MALE and DOES IT HAVE A BROOD PATCH???
Wow, bald eagles everywhere, hope the eagle can be rehabbed and set free again. Can't believe the guy drove all the way from Harper's Ferry!
That rehab place in Keedysville must be Trego mountain Sanctuary. That's the place we gave some of our raffle proceeds to last year.
Male at BWO brought something to eat....
female looks like she is incubating but I didn't see an egg when she stood up earlier
think I see and egg now at BWO!
OMGosh about the injured eagle. Wow!
Wow, poor eagle.....sure hope it will be okay.........COULD it possibly be?????????
TEAM LIBERTY!
Jim, little Po is such a cutie!
Andy, do you get a spring break from school??? Hugs to Emma---and you, too, of course!
Glo, sure glad to hear that you are out of the doghouse!
I can't imagine how the guy got the eagle into the car and than drove up the road with it in the car! Did the eagle just sit there on the seat?
Tara's dad's obituary.
Leslie S. Zajacz
Hi, Gang,
Checking in quickly.
DanaMO, that's my question, too. Steve said the eagle was able to hop out of the transport carrier on its own. Wonder if the carrier belonged to the guy who dropped it off at NCTC. Sure hope the eagle will be OK!
Wonder who he is, and where he belongs!
TEAM LIBERTY FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, gotta go get some things done. BBL! :o]
Oops--Lynn, Student Break Week will be May 16-20.
Glo, so glad that you and Dex were able to take your stroll and get Dex his dog treats!
OK, gotta run. BBL!
wow Kay three visit today Thanks for info
Sharon Very nicely done I love train and I saw you
Well, it's no wonder we get the two eagle eyed sisters confused...with the same avatar...LOL
Wow our weatherman Paul Dellegatto just said that there were 450 tornado between OK and the east coast from that last system that went through Sad thing 48 deaths so far Ok back to the news just wanted to share and wow are there lots of videos out there that people took and submitted
DanaMo, apparently the fellow had a "transport carrier", one for a large dog would do the trick, I guess.
I think Steve or others at NCTC would have recognized Lib, signs of a brood patch, etc.. So, it must not be him. NBG says automobiles and airplanes are two of an eagles worst enemies.
Sharon, thanks for posting the obit for Tara's dad. I can picture much of what is happening for the family there. My son and dil both teach at Rutgers in New Brunswick and live in Highland Park. The hospital is the one they've used several times in the last 11 or 12 years as it's just about two miles down the road from their town. I've been by the hospital and that cemetary many times. I like the way he was described---you just know by reading it that you'd have liked the man ! So nice that you have first hand memories of just how pleasant he was.
Are Osprey eggs brown? If so, BW has an egg.
BW confirmed an osprey egg!
Good afternoon! So, here I sit with ice on my back. Never did spread mulch. My back has just been on the edge of a spasm. Maybe tomorrow!
I want you to go to my blog Eagle and Panda pics. Jack does flag search competition. He found that picture on a flag. Printed and gave it to me. Said it could be out motto! LOL
VW Dana, how I wish I could say something to make you feel better. The only thing I know from my own experience with losing Stan is that while you'll always miss Ed, your days and weeks will get better. You'll be able to smile in remembrance of good times shared and put all the ugly stuff about the way he suffered behind you. Is there a widow/widowers support group where you are ? I never felt the need, but am a strong believer in support groups. My prayers are with you and here's a big hug, {{{{{{{{Dana}}}}}}}♥♥♥♥
Kay, have you "walked"?
Sad about the new injured eagle. Harpers Ferry to NCTC is not too far and he apparently did not know where else to take it. Drove that road a few times last Fall.
Shhhhh! Do not tell Lynn, but my cam has been going 7 hours and 30 min.
Lolly, that flag is too good ! I wish Lib would all of a sudden descend on Truder with an axe like that----oh, just enough to scare him out of the territory for good !
Sorry your body is crying out in agony after the mulch spreading. Did you take a walk today---maybe you just did too much. I took the mile walk and it felt good. I've been such an avid walker that I can tell I'll move on to 2 miles very soon. However, for this week, at least, I'm sticking with 1. I don't have the ball weights she touts, but used my standard little weights. Anyway, thanks for all the info and for getting me enthused about the program !
Oh, yes, and Lolly, can you tell me how the "stretchie resistance band" will be used ? Do you use props on the 2 mile ? I could view it all ahead, but why, when I have you to ask ? LOL
Have been checking out the albums in Momster albums Really great pictures I created one for our young man to see the correct way that Lib would do it Maybe he'll take notes LOL BBL
Lolly, sorry I didn't read more carefully. I now see that you didn't spread mulch after all. When did this back spasm thing start ?
Now that is quite the avatar, JudyE. ☺
Lolly n' Lynn, are you keeping the cam going for those long hours with no refresh needed ?
Kay, when I start the cam and it stops at the 14 min, I then click one time the play button in the lower left had corner. It takes a short while, but it starts up and runs all day.
Yes, I walked today. In the 2 mile walk you use the stretchie. Did it today. We always do the 2 mile walk.
I have always had back problems. It just comes and goes. Not sure why it was hurting today.
Lolly, I do that too, I thought everyone knew that trick.
VWDana Lynn mentioned Support groups If you have hospice in your area seek them out they have the best support group from my experience with both my parents over two years period and my best friend Denis(pancreas, liver, bile duct cancer) Oct last year they are the best groups I know in Ky and here in Fl My deepest sympathy Just hang on to the good memories that what got me through
oops that was Kay that mentioned the groups My bad
The eagle with the axe is just part of the flag of Port Alice, British Columbia. Interesting, huh?
Liz, not everyone. I just discovered it myself.
More fires...about 60 miles west of us. Really really sad!!
Regarding cam not refreshing I haven't had to refresh once I think I figured it out I open many windows IE for different cams etc, well by accident on several occasions I noticed when I didn't refresh after about an half hour or so the camera turned in to a BEIGE SCREEN WITH A BIG ARROW well once you click that arrow you are good to go for days Now what I do is I always open an extra cam to wait till the beige screens shows up and then use that camera and off course I always have one on the back burner in case something happens and I oops x out or something else happens sometimes after a day the camera freezes up and then that when I use the one on the back burner and then the other camera will in turn do the same thing I hope you can understand what I am saying Right now my camera has been running since 6 this am Let me know if you can't understand JUST let camera expire and let turn to beige screen while you refresh one to view OK I hope that covers it now to go find food BBL
Our county has been put on a fire weather watch. Lovely, just lovely! Hospitals and doctors are seeing people for respiratory problems. I believe it. Saturday was a miserable day for me.
My BIL just called to see if I had my water hose ready.
Wow, I should have asked the "refresh" question days ago ! Thanks gals !!!!!
Watching the news. A marine surprised his 3 children at school today. Tears!!!!!
I emailed Peter at Potomac Valley Audubon Society about the injured eagle. Here is what he replied:
I heard about today's injured bird from two different people this morning. Apparently it had been feeding on a deer carcass in the road when it was hit. Several people stopped to help and one couple wound up taking the bird to NCTC. I talked with them afterwards; they said there were two other mature eagles at the same site, along with a bunch of vultures. Only the one bird was hit.
Peter
I've been having a great time going through albums on the Yahoo blog. It's so much fun to put faces with names and to see what a great time y'all have when you get together. Makes me itch to join in on one of the events and meet you face to face !
Liz, I got 2 pics of the Osprey egg and posted it to Friends of Blackwater on FB if you are on there. Boy, was I ever in the right place at the right time!
So sorry about your back Lolly, I've been ailing myself today, too. Hope you feel better soon.
We have TWO eggs in the bluebird box now!
Lynn, thanks for sharing that report. Can you imagine coming upon that scene ?
Lynne, Good catch of osprey pics!
Hedgie, thanks for the report on the injured eagle.
FYI on Bri Maine nest. Dad has not been incubating the egg at all today, not in the 7 hrs that I have been watching. Haven't seen any eagle there until a few minutes ago, saw an eagle for a few minutes, I couldn't identify it.
KayIM It was mentioned earlier right after I joined last month that they have an open house in Oct so when that date comes closer remember it I'm going to try I go up to NC to see my two best friend and just might drive up Will see Wow construction going on at the White Rock nest
I guess he's figured it out Liz. What a sad end to what started out as a hopeful season.
yes, Lynne, so sad. Trooper gave it a valiant try and has earned his name.
Just wondering....
<b href="Will there be a nest visit in June this year even though we don't have a fledgling?<b/>
...might be a good time for the Matriarchs of the Blog to think about that?
ok clearly I have already forgotten how to do bold letters. UGH
Trooper he is Liz!
I do hope some of you newbies can make it to open house. I will not be there this year. Just can not swing traveling across the country two years is a row! However, if you go you will be rewarded with one fantastic time with the greatest group of people anywhere!
Absolutely we need a nest visit. Jo and I were speaking of that the other day.
We came for the eagles and stayed for the friendships we made!
TEAM LIBERTY!!!!
Excuse me Lynne! But I am laughing. (((hugs)))
Trooper of Bri Maine has earned his name......likewise Truder of Shepherdstown has earned his. LOL.
JudyE, wouldn't that be great ! We really do need some Newbie representation there. I'm sure the Matriarchs must love introducing new members to the beauty of the nest and surrounding countryside.
well Lolly, when you are done LAUGHING, maybe you could help me out with that! LOL!
Andy, sorry you have to wait so long for another break. :(
Great pic/flag, Lolly and Jack!
Congrats to BWO and Lisa!!!
I, too, have found IF/WHEN the cam stops, if it's the beige screen with the arrow, then that keeps it going until I shut it down.
Lolly, pray that the fires burn out STAT!
News says that the weekend tornado numbers are the highest ever recorded,
Trooper really tugs at my heart strings ! I do hope he has better luck, nest mating, nesting and brooding season. He gave it his all !
Lynne, < b >to make it bold < /b > Do this without the spaces.
Thanks, Lynn! Prayers are needed. Just now watching the news and the fires are approaching more houses.
Thanks Lolly!
I really hope the fires stay away from you guys. Are they making any sort of predictions about them?
No, they are not making any predictions. But, it is so scary to watch. The local news is covering not much else...they have cameras out there to watch it live.
This is the area that is burning. They say the State Park is charred.
Possum Kingdom Lake
When we were young, had a boat, we skied here all the time.
Lolly, it's so sad to thing of that beautiful park being charred. I spent a lot of time in Pilot Point and McKinney as a kid---never heard about there being such beauty within easy driving distance.
It's also sad to "think" of it....
Okay, Sissy is back in the ER. She developed a severe pain through her upper abdomen into her back. X-ray shows free air under her diaphragm. Not sure what the plan of action will be but will let you know.
Get ready for the birds because I'm bowing out for a couple of hours. ☺ BBL
Sharon, prayers going up for Sissy right now! (((Hugs))) for both of you!
Prayers to everyone who needs it. You all are my special intentions when I say my prayers at night. I have a hard time keeping track of everyone but know that I pray for everyone in the group.

Hello everyone.
Lolly, hope you get to feeling better but more important I sincerely hope the fires will stay far away from you and Jack and Camp Hawkwood.
Sad about the inevitable abandonment of the incubation at Maine. Knew it was coming but hoped it wouldn't.
Sharon, my prayers are with Sissy and with you. She'll be fine. Keep the faith, girl.
Hoping the injured eagle will be able to recover.
