New thread.
I have gotten inquiries from folks about getting more info on what's going on and also requests that the NCTC do something to assist the birds.
I need to repeat that we all understand that this episode is unsettling to everyone, but it is one of the risks of having the cam in place--you get to see the wonderful things and the not so wonderful as well.
Wild nature is not always a happy place...the best thing to do is not to interfere in any way.
FWS biologists have been aware of this episode since it began and I suspect there will be more information put out tomorrow on the official cam website.

Thank You !
We came for the Eagles but We stayed for the Friendship
Plowhandle you are welcome here, but please don't rile us up right now...because that is really not what we need right now...You might not have a grip on this group and its dynamics and expertise and dedication and devotion...
there are years of history to what is going on with this cam and US -
We are international, now down-home hokey !
Okay?
The Eagle Cam is a gift to us from NCTC and we play a part in its financial support, but NCTC's purpose is far beyond what this cam is all about, we know that...
Yes, exactly, we have to make comments about how we can help the situation to ease our pain and make us feel like we are doing something.
Do any of you remember when I (and some of you, I think) were watching a stork nest in Austria somewhere like that? The little stork chick ended up dying slowly from aspergillosis, and I wrote up about him. I remember joking about the things we could do to help, even from thousands of miles away!
It was heartwrenching to watch that, and yet we still did.
Thanks Delphia!
Lolly you are right! We don't need to be sour about it all.
I think Sound has returned
Come on Lib Bring that fish
You know, there is a guy around here who flies in this contraption that has a top like a parachute...kinda like a motorized thing. Well, next time I see him, I'm gonna flag him down and see if he can do a food drop at the nest!
Belle just poofed
that would be NOT down-home hokey, excuse my typo...
not NOW down-home hokey, but we sure can be "Down-Home ♥"
By this happening it means more eagles are coming back into the area. Which in this area we at one time did not have very many eagles. So this is GOOD that they are coming back into the area.
It will just take time for some to find their own tree to start a nest in and raise their beautiful family.
Hopefully someone will put up a webcam where even this one goes and we can watch her being with a male and fixing up her nest and raising her young. Lord willing it would be nice to watch her raise her young.
Very well said, BIrd Girl!!!!!
I knew Belle would take off. The coast is clear now. Maybe she can find some food close by.
Paula - Belle Flew Out
Awww thanks Hedgie Loved Mai's videos. Thanks for the link. Gave me happy tears. Those tear ducts are just sort of open these day. Of course the nurse in me says Easy Mai you just had surgery. But she seems no worse for the ware indeed.
remember that for sure Delphia...
Lynne - I was thinking the very same thing and was going to post that about Belle...could have been at one time...
we'll never know...
LOL Lynne2, I can hear that conversation now:
Lynne: Hi, you don't know me, but I'd like you to take your contraption and these fish and drop the fish in that nest up there
FlyGuy: Um...you want me to what?
LOL
we knew what you meant Margy! Hope you have a nice visit with your sister today!
She flew off to the left. Looks like PJ has spotted her and trying to follow.
Said it before and will say it again -- don't respond to individuals who APPEAR to want to "stir the pot." Responses provide validation for their behavior.
Well, that wore PJ out. He needs some good nourishment.
Belle is soaring asbove the nest couple of hawks soaring to
I'm with ya Judie
well that is one pooped eaglet!
I wonder when Belle will remove that other egg, and how? Will she just move it to another part of the nest, or roll it over the side?
And she's off again.
OH I wish I could see Belle soaring!
You are right Judie.
I'm tellin' you Delphia, this contraption of his would be PERFECT for the job! LOL!
Belle must not be too concerned about the hawks.
Joy is peeping!
Lynne2 John who is with Paula and the group taking pics has one of
them! He said he has been thinking about it these past few days.
OMG that's too funny Jo!!!
Look at Paddy looking all around
WOW message to me
Pook is up and running on the
Moose Cam!
Take a break and see it!
well start scraping up the bail money.....
Iris
I hope you are feeling better soon

Happy Anniversary Wishes to your dear neighbors

MOOOSE CAM?!?!?! LINK PLEASE!!!
wvsUSAN This comment is so reassuring on so many levels. Thank you for it.
"I think Belle and Lib are eating somewhere else and then Belle shares saliva and scraps from maybe her mouth and talons. I'm just guessing about that but how else in the world would Paddy be surviving??"
Lynne2: I love your idea about the man in the flying machine tossing out fish! That was hilarious!
Delphia.....thank you. Well said!
@Paula thanks for the up date about Belle soaring above the nest.
Just received a message on WOW
from Sherrie
Hi Mema Jo,
As you know, I don't post over on Momsters but sure have been trying this morning.
Felt that having one more person in the group with positive thoughts couldn't hurt.
However, I am having trouble with my Google account.
Many of us watching closely at WOW forum as well (name still sounds strange to me.....like it should still be Maine forum bigsmile)\
So fortunate to have so many that live within driving distance to be on site.
Just want you all to know that I will be joining your prayer vigil at noon.
Hope this finds you well.....
Sherri
Our eagles have touched so many!
ok now I have that song "the daring young man in the flying machine" stuck in my head....
belle is soaring over the campus
Thanks Jo for posting what Sherri wrote and thanks Sherri for joining in at noon time prayer ( :
We think she is checking things out ... no sign of lib or trudy
(Cue the Dating Game theme song)
"Trudy, please fly WAY over here -
That's right, now please prepare your questions!"
"Bachelor Eagle #1:
Are you a good architect, who will let me put sticks where I want them - and are you handsome, like Liberty, the guy I was going after until I heard this 60's TV show music come wafting thorough the woods and lure me away from that nest?"
@Paula thanks that sounds good ( :
"Belle soaring over campus" happy happy ( :
DANA DANA DANA DANA DANA DANA DANA DANA........(as in WV)

Thanks Professor Judie...I know you are right...

God Bless This Nest...
And all it's wildlife

Paula. Good to hear that Belle is checking things out.

Prayertime Please please
I have also been extending my prayers to Belle and Lib.
Lolly, when you are back, we are looking for the floppy fish!!!!
Ha Ha.
It got awful quiet here. Good sign!
Now that we're all done with our collective prayer, we need a chant! LET'S GO BELLE! LET'S GO LIB! BYE BYE, TRUDE!
Ok now, everybody . . .
Checking in from Bedford. I went outside at my bird feeders to say my noon prayer. God is in charge, always.
I have all my friends praying too. Just saw the little guy move his head.
Hey guys...you're killin' me---I can't keep up! Getting ready to head out for Animal Advocates meeting. Won't have time to read this split......won't be home til 6'ish.....dinner with friend Kathy after meeting. See then.....anything really significant, please email me!!!!!
Prayers continue.
Still no sign of any adult eagles in the air or trees
Hello everyone, Could someone please tell me if Paula is still on the site and if so is there an update?
"I live in the spirit of prayer. I pray as I walk, when I lie down, and when I rise. And the answers are always coming. Tens of thousands of times have my prayers been answered."
"When once I am persuaded that a thing is right, I go on praying for it. The great point is never to give up till the answer comes........"

A bird is back at the nest shaking the tree near the cam.
Is there a fight going on?
Mojita Paula is alive & well & right now is down near NCTC grounds looking for our eagles.
1 Egg in nest
1 Eaglet in nest 3/17 Paddy 'O Joy
1 Belle caring for chick
1 Liberty acting as decoy to our
1 Hussy Eagle (Dirty Bird)
Are you from the IWS forum? Or from where do we know you?
Both are on tree Trudy and belle. Belle came flying. In and Trudy followed her
Now, I am not directing this at any one person in particular but . . .
1. I am grateful that BS weeds itself out.
2. If someone wants "official" reports about the eagles, then probably here is not the best place to check. We post things we observe at the nest. We have spent lots and lots of hours studying every move of these eagles and know the difference between "norm" and "not-so-norm". These eagles and the Eaglet Momsters, new and old, have been a HUGE part of my life since 2006. We have loved each other through eaglets hatching, eaglets fledging, eaglets returning to the nest, getting fed, not getting fed. We have also loved each other through deaths, births, illnesses, sadness, sorrow, joys, triumphs in life. This is just how we roll. If someone is offended because we "humanize this", then I don't know what to say. I am human and I do have human emotions and when I see our beloved Liberty and Belle going through trials, I feel it deep in my soul.
Right now, my 1-legged starling is out here at the bird feeders eating. I always put more food closer to the tree because it seems easier for him to balance himself there. I absolutely love nature and, although I know it is not always perfect, I like to do my part to make it a little bit better.
I have formed some really beautiful friendships right here on this blog and I wouldn't trade that for anything. ♥♥♥ and ((((HUGS))))
Can you see the tree moving, Beagle? My cam must be frozen.
Belle landed in nest Trudy is still on top of nest tree
Belle landed in nest Trudy is still on top of nest tree
Heard some distant chirps (don't know if Paddy) & clunks above.Hope it's not Trudy. Paddy is hungry.
I have to go outside for awhile~~
Paula - Adult eagle on nest
Assuming it is belle
Got a cup of coffee and came back to find Belle on the nest. I don't see a fish yet.
TY, Megan!!!!!
Please get the stick out of the egg cup...........
Spucciano, I live in Westernport! We are close neighbors!
Heard a small plane-type noise. Is it Santa?
Love you Lots Sharon ♥
We all do bond well!
Mema Jo, I am new here. I came in last weekend before the eaglet was born. I have been following the forums since the comments were taken away. I'm not here to start trouble. Please don't think that I am implying that you might think I am. I'm just trying to clear that up before anyone wonders. i'm just curious like everyone else praying for a miracle. I'm from Charleston, WV.
NO it's JOHN in his Parachute
machine ...........
Trudy has flown out of the nest tree
Husband is calling me right now so I have to go but I wlll be checking back for your most informative updates. Thank you!
Mojita - You Stay Right Here Too!
We just had visitors in Shepherdstown from our blog and
guess what they are from
Charleston, WV
There's a report from the nest grounds.
Thank you Megan.
Trudy is sitting a tree not far from the nest tree:(
Sharon. Lovely prose.
((hug))
Jennifer - I was trying to rack my brain to tell them you were from
Westernportt but just couldn't remember....
That is what this blog is about...
Caring for our eagles and learning
about our bloggers... You would be
surprised how many things we have
in common!
I need to leave so all of you are in charge! Belle is in the nest and Paddy 'O Joy is napping. All is
well! Be alert to our Hussie Hunter's remarks!
Mema, that's cool about your starling! I have a one-footed female grackle in my neighborhood. It's so amazing how adaptable birds are.
Did you know that starlings can mimic? Friend of mine has one named Fidget (they're not native so it is not illegal to own them as pets) who says all kinds of things!
Go put fish in that pond!
To all newcomers:
We will have a SPLIT - (New Page)
at 200 - 400 - 600 Multiples of 200
Keep commenting and you automatically go to the next page.
You can't get lost but you may be the 1st person on the new page and
feel lost! lol
Magpie, you reminded me of this earlier. In my program of recovery, we know that resentments will kill us. Like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. So, we pray for the person we resent, that God blesses them with the best that life has to offer and eventually the resentment goes away. Well, I have a pretty intense resentment at Trudy and so I pray too that Trudy finds a good mate for her (like Lib, but certainly not Lib) and is able to have a happy, healthy life.
Now, this prayer is a process of moving it from my head to my heart because right now I want to throw a net over her, capture her and transplant her in someone else's territory. But for now, I will pray for her.
Delphia - Sharon has that one
footed bird! Please post somewhere
for us a pic of your new little
owl - thanks
Oh yeah the owl, sure I can do that :)
Oh, Eagle-Eyed Sharon, you are a treasure!
Welcome Mojita ( :
@Megan who is reporting from near the nest .... thank you Megan, Paula, Scott, and Lori.
Trudy back above the nest, looking down
Trudy just flew away
Once again, my sister has eloquently said what I feel in my heart. This blog is about the eagles but not JUST about the eagles. Like Hedgie's little plaque says, "I came for the eagles but I stayed for the friendships I made."
Just seen a shadow fly over nest???
Megan was that Trudy???
@Megan thanks Trudy just flew away
Yes, Trudy was in tree just above nest, then she flew out of tree towards the road- I have lost sight of her
Trudy flew off the tree and perche iin the trees across the field foe a little while. Thenshe ccame back and perched in the nest trre for a minute or two. Now trudy is soaring near the nest
Okay, if I've done it correctly, I've changed my pic to the GHO chick we got the other day.
Please note there are no humans or parts of humans in the photo, as is required by our Game & Fish department for photos of animals currently being rehabilitated.
Trudy has soared west of the nest out of sight
Praying our Intruder hears the call of the wild and its a very distant call, and leads her far away RIGHT NOW!!!!.
Of course, all this action as soon as we had to leave today!!!! Ugh...
Thanks to all of you for posting everything that has happened. I was able to get on blog just before noon and see prayer time so was able to join in. This group is truly amazing!
What do you think Belle is doing when she is soaring? Looking for food or keeping an eye on the intruder?
Sharon, your lovely comments brought me to tears - TWICE!!! You have a great way with words and I for one truly appreciate it!
What a great group of Eaglet Momsters/Dadsters we have here - I'm so happy to know you all and hope to get to learn to know all our new posters too!
God is in Charge - always.
Thanks Scott for everything.
Keep on Soaring Trudy
BBL
Heard a little "clunk". Wonder if Trudy is back in nest tree??
While she went "out of sight" per Paula, I was praying Lib could zip in w/food.
Look who is peeking out from under Momma
@Mema Jo my wife and I really enjoyed it..
Can se belle is up
She looks agitated, is Trudy around?
She looks agitated, is Trudy flying around?
No other eagles in site
@Scott, Paula, Megan and Lori thank you all for being our eyes today and reporting in to us on the blog. What you have done is a wonderful thing. To bring the news to us directly. Hugs to you all ( :
May Trudy keep soaring till she finds herself a male eagle mate. So she can be doing what female eagles her age is suppose to do. Find a mate, fix a nest and lay eggs, incubate those eggs till hatch time, then feed her chicks. Then Trudy will have her own "family of eaglets and a Dad eagle to help her". Please Trudy keep soaring away from this nest. Far away Trudy and may God Bless You with a mate and family of your own to start out with.
Belle took off 1:02PM
Belle just flew out.
We think she was scouting the area and trudy followed her back
She is soaring againabove the nest
@Paula thank you. Do you have to leave too? All of you?
WHEW!! hard to walk away....
OK, so Trudy has gone west. Good. Hope she keeps going west. CA is is nice this time of year! LOL!
Lib my be staying out of sight til he's sure she's gone and he can safely return to the nest.
Welcome Mojita
@Scott and wife nice to have you aboard to help out ... thank you. ( :
oh no, Trudy is back?
Scott were you able to get any pictures?
@wvgal_dana Thank you....
wonder how long Paula will stay? So, new Susan and hubby will be there later, and did Robyn say she was going to head back this afternoon?
Lynne2 where do you see report from eyes on ground at nest site "that Trudy is back"?? Did I miss a report?
@Lynne2 Hope so...downloading them to the computer to have a look see right now.
Got pic of Belle & Paddy w/"eyes to the skies"---on Blog.
TY & Blessings to Paula, Megan, Lori, Scott & Mrs. Scott. You've contributed so much to help us "see" what's happening.
can't wait to see them Scott...thanks!
DANA you have a MEETING at AAWV 2pm
And, see Paula's post at 1:03
Dana ... see Paula's last post.
No Lynne2 I talked to Lynn-Hedgie on phone yesterday and said I had to pick up my Mother at 2pm so I wouldn't be at meeting. Thanks for trying to remind me though ( :
wvDana, Paula's post at 1:03.
oh shoot....I remember that now Dana, sorry!
Yes I did 1pm from Paula thank you Patricia ( :
Maybe Trudy will find a place a Back Creek or Sleepy Creek area. That is heading west.
OK, need to head outside for a while to play with the dogs.....
Belle was soaring and trudy came back from the west. Theen belle slowly heade away from the nest and trudy followed her. They went southest which would be the 10 position looking at the cam
Hello momsters and dadsters, and welcome newcomers.
Paula, Megan, Lori and Scott thanks for being our eyes at the nest today. Mom called me earlier to let me know what was going on before they flew out to Biloxi. Told me you all were there and was very happy. I need to keep her updated once a day while they are away.
SO she is still around the dirty bird. I hope belle has been getting some kind of nourishment herself, her priority is partially caring for O'Joy but it is mainly to herself and protecting her nest and territory. I am glad that she got some time with Liberty, at least it isn't playing out like the Norfolk nest did that one year.
RA is kicking in today must be rain in the near future not sure if I will make it to the nest what with school and an exam today but if I can I am going to run down there with my nephew Jason.
Sorry to hear there was an unpleasant visitor but I am sure we all kinda knew it was inevitable. Great thing this is a very close group (family)
Susan and Grey it was so nice meeting you both, Susan I hope my directions to the nest made it to you. Thanks for spending 7 HOURS there I only put 2 in my chickie needed to be fed so I had to leave.
Oh Susan I contacted Jonathan i Scotland I am going to order the book you have for my mom. She told me that so many watchers were writing poems and all and someone mentioned they should compilate them all and make a book :) she will truly treasure it.
Thanks Lynne2, Patricia, and Loretta I missed that post 1:03 from Paula. That Trudy is back and soaring above the nest. Thanks for helping me out you all. Sad news though.
Lynne she can come down by me the dirty bird and make her nest along the deep parts of the opequon creek
I see 1:16 report from Paula
Robyn, so glad you contacted Jonathan. I know Susan ordered before me & was some how able to use Paypal. I mailed a check, so know mine will take some time to get here. Chrissy has one of her capture pics in the book! And probably poems!
Going outside & still haven't done my work homework!!!
So according to Paula's last reports, both Belle and Trudy are away from the nest? Now would be a good time for Lib to bring some eats!
Well I know need to leave it up to the eyes on the ground near the nest. Hopefully all don't have to leave at same time. Maybe Robyn will get there and be our eyes for awhile if everyone else has to leave.
Please keep the comments on here going. So I can read them when I get back.
Prayers for your RA acting up today. I know Diann needs prayers, Judie still needs them but she is doing great. So any other prayers for you too. Prayers that Belle and Liberty can get back to the nest with food. Prayers for our little chick Paddy O'Joy.
bbl
Hi. This is my first time posting here. It is also my first time watching this Eagle Cam. I feel so sorry for these Eagles. That poor Paddy O'Joy is so precious. Please God, take care of these wonderful birds.
Robyn. I hope your RA is not troubling you over much.
If we had a life like statue of a male Bald Eagle, I suppose we could lure the dirty bird away.
Noise at the nest cam.
Naturenut, if they take paypal that would work better I can use my paypal acct and not wait for the time it takes to get across the pond clear and make it to mom.
Misty Rose, welcome, love your photo of those sweet doggies...love the halos especially!
It's an eagle calling out. It does not sound like Belle.
So, all this talk about not interfering with nature, but this made the news: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/41947476#41848244
Doesn't make any sense to me. I totally think we, as humans, should help God's creatures when we can.
Dana I will try my best, Dr just informed me last week they are going to start me on Remicade, just waiting for BCBS to let them know if I was approved, for what I pay for ins they better
Okay, here is my quandry. If Trudy wants the darn nest so bad then why isn't she trying everything that she can to get it? When she lands she is actually submissive to Belle, and just a few minutes ago is a good example. If she wanted the nest while Belle was soaring why did she follow Belle and not go for the nest? I just don't get it....
Robyn, I can empathize with you. I have had fibromyalgia for 22 years, and have been on disability for the last 4 years as a result. Rain really bothers me too! Hope you feel better soon.
Diane, for some reason I can't get the MSNBC player to work, what is the clip titled?
Belle is in the tree above the nest she came in from tthe east. Lib flew in from the river and is perched south of the nest (noonish)
Yeah Scott. My thoughts run the same.
What in the world is going on?
Scott, I was just wondering the same thing!
Thanks Paula. It's good to hear the team is back together again.
Naturenut,
Jonathan replied and mentioned the book is sold out and not sure if and when it will go to reprint. I guess I will order mom the new book coming out
LOL...sounds like a lost puppy to me. :)
It would be really nice to know if Lib is carrying a fish in from the river.
Paula, what part of the area are you at? I may get ready and see if Jason wants to eagle watch with me and give my sis in law a break lol. How much longer will you be there, can I bring you all anything up?
That is belle calling she is still above the nest
One landed on cam tree. The tree was shaking.
Okay folks, I need to pry my butt off this chair and my hands off the mouse & keyboard, and actually get something done today!
Will be checking in as I can via phone if possible.
Have a good day everyone!
May be we should rename the intruder.
Lost Puppy.
Thank you IrisF. The picture is the profile on my own blog. Didn't know until today that all I had to do to comment was log in to my own blog.
Scott: I completely agree with you. Why does the Intruder not attack Belle but chases Lib off? Does she think Lib is the threat to the nest and trying to protect the nest? Hmmmm. I am stumped.
Thank you to all those ground observers. It's nice to know that Lib at least is trying to get to the nest. So sorry he has not met Joy yet.
Rustling at the cam.
I just put some chicken tenders on to barbecue and was wishing I could slam some of it up in that daggone nest.
Misty, welcome and I hope you keep coming back.
Scott and all that is something I've been wondering about for days, if it is an attempt to take over the nest, why is it so "half-hearted"???
The whole thing just doesn't make sense. I can understand no fish in the nest I think, because of the intruder, but something else seems to be going on we aren't aware of yet...
But if Trudy is actually trying to protect the nest, why does she not bring food?
Good morning or afternoon.
I just got back from church and breakfast and had to check in . I will read back in a minute.
From what I gather all 3 are around and .
I prayed for the best possible outcome and one of our songs in church was about nature and birds and I sang extra loud(although the people around me might not have appreciated it)
I am going back to read now.
god Bless our Belle and Lib and our little twinkle toes.
Never mind...that was the wrong video..sorry. I can't find the one I was thinking about. There was a deep freeze and the eagle fishing ground was frozen over, so people provided fish for the eagles until it thawed out.
Robyn and Bird Girl, I only have OA, but I sure can tell when rain is coming or any front coming in for that matter. 45 years and counting. And I used to wonder how my grandfather knew it was going to rain in a day or two...
Is O'Joy ok? I had to get the dogs out then back in so I missed some cam time...
Diane. I don't see why someone couldn't stock the pond that is close by.
Belle is on the nest.
IRIS, I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis, but I do not have the skin problem, I have it in my joints and my entire spine. I get around well (no more waterskiing) but the pain can really set me back. the other meds weren't working after 2 years hence the move to Remicade which I heard from my bestie it works wonders for her...
OK I am going to get ready grab my nephew and head up to the nest.
That song could have been "All Things Bright and Beautiful" Bev.
Belle has food!!!!
Belle and lib soared above the nest and near it . Then belle returned to above the nest. Then she took off to the river and about 2 or 3 minutes later she hightailed it back to the nest with trudy on her tail. Trudy landed right next to the nest, and belle won the staredown contest and trudy left to perch south of the nest
This is a battle between the females
WHERE'D THE FISH COME FROM????
FISH! A FISH!
Well Praise the Lord!
A fish!
Is that a fish I see?
Where did the food come from?
PJ sure is still...
But the baby's not moving :(
Hi all! Home from church and have been reading the blog to catch up. Finally did! When I got here...no Belle. Was certainly hoping she would come flying in with a fish.
There have been some wonderful comments on here. Good job momsters/dadsters!
It is time for our "Thank You, God" prayers. He sure answered our noon prayer in a hurry.
All together now....THANK YOU, GOD
Does. Belle have a fish
I missed the fish! Is Belle hiding it?
