Shirley, Hidey hatched on 14 March....we often joked as (s)he got older that we hoped a poop shoot didn't hit the cam lens...when splotch first appeared we thought that maybe that had happened....but it never washed off in the heavy spring rains, so...might be moisture inside the cover.

deb said...

Almost missed the split. I finally broke down and got the front mowed. It isn't hot out at all, but it is sure humid.

deb said...

I finally got the Burrowing Owl live cam to work! Both eaglets and one adult at LW.

deb said...

Coons are arriving at Pix PA. I am hoping for a bear sighting at the Snow Man cam.

stronghunter said...

Hidey just landed in the nest hollering her head off.

stronghunter said...

And Hidey's gone!

paula eagleholic said...

And gone again, was refreshing and heard the fading call

deb said...

Darn, I missed him! :(

Holy cow, it's getting late & I wanted to converse a little.Read some comments at work, but couldn't yack. I'm supposed to be finishing cleaning up this place, but I want Room Service!!! I'm going to go into Maxine Mode soon regarding company that doesn't know when they're coming---"What they see, is what they get"! (I was supposed to help w/butterfly count at Park tomorrow even tho it's not a workday for me. I do it every year.)
I was so excited to find a webcam for Santorini Island, that I edited a few pics that I will put on BSpot. I tried to find some that show the area that the Livecam is showing for comparison. Greece is also 7 hrs. ahead like Finland. I'm going to try out a link --Blue Thingy on next message I write.

Good evening - I had been watching a little TV earlier. I am picky about my time in front of TV - not too much of interest during the summer.

Missed Hidey's earlier visit. I had my speakers turned off.

paula eagleholic said...

I have been working on Part 1 of yesterdays video...saving it now...probably won't be on youtube till tomorrow...

NatureNut said...

AARRGGHH---I previewed my Blue Thingy--went to site & when I clicked back to blog, IE said page had expired!!!!
I'm really gonna be Maxine now-----I HATE IE

NatureNut said...

I just missed a couple of Hidey's 3visits yesterday---BOO

Can you also post a Blue Thingy on the Blogspot?? or should it be just a regular address?? I'd like to put it w/the pictures too.

Mema Jo said...

Well, I'll wait until tomorrow for Part 1 and maybe that blue thingy will also be there.

Going to call it a day....

Good night all!
Prayers for all our needs being said!
Pleasant dreams and peaceful sleep...

(((hugs))) ♥

stronghunter said...

Loretta, that happens every time I try to test a link I make, then the link is gone and I have to do it over, so I just make sure it is really a link, but don't click on it.

I also have problems whenever I delete a message. I get kicked completely off the blog and have to register again.

It doesn't make sense.

NatureNut said...

One more time
Santorini Is.,Greece

The site also has some interesting spots to click for other info.

NatureNut said...

That cam pic is a little fuzzy, but there is a 2nd view if you scroll down---bottom left.
Now I'm gonna have to post my pictures. Glad most are starting Pleasant Feather Dreams----be ready in the AM. ;>)

Lovely, Lowreeda!!! Thanks for link. Can't wait to see your pics. Don't know answer to your question about link on the blogspot....Paula will know, I'm sure. Forgot to ask you....was there any hoopla (like birthplace sign or anything) about Yanni over there?

hedgie said...

Good night all. We've sure been missing some momsters today! Will look forward to those postings tomorrow!
Rest well. Prayers for all.

Costume Lady said...

Another long day...going to lay me down to sleep:)

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL

NatureNut said...

Lynn, I didn't hear anything about Yanni. Is he from Athens?

Those cams are not real exciting---not like animal action, but yesterday I did see several dark spots over the water that would be the hooded crows.
OK--try to post a couple sets of pics~~~~

Lolly said...

Was going to get on this evening, but go lost on facebook! My niece in Atlanta and I have been chatting. Crazy! We should just talk on the telephone, but instead we type back and forth. Gotta love it!

Loading up the trailer. Have a wedding tomorrow afternoon. That should be fun.

Hope all of you have a great weekend.

Nite!
Sweet Dreams!

Good morning, everyone.

Arrived home at 10:30pm to find a Wash.Post email response to my letter about the D.C. eagles. Interest was expressed in publishing and I was asked to respond ASAP. Had to swear and promise I had not submitted elsewhere.

Here's hoping!

Don't know if anyone was able to see the Moon and Jupiter tonight - they have reversed positions - Jupiter is now on the Right side of the Moon instead of the Left side. Great to watch how things move around from one night to the next.

Went out to watch ISS - I got stood up! No Show! The times must have gotten switched up on me since the last time I checked the schedule :(

magpie said...

Wonderful pictures NatureNut Loretta posted on the Santorini Islands...so dreamy !

NatureNut said...

Good Grief, Margy! Did you work 'til 12M, or are night owl like me?

magpie said...

Boy oh boy, those new ones are nice too, Loretta.
Sorry it sounds like you might have to miss out on the butterfly count tomorrow :(

magpie said...

I need to fill up my milk jugs and watering can and water my flowers out front...this old night owl might be fading fast after that.

Have to have another look at Moonie and Jupiter also.

Back in a little while....

NatureNut said...

Blogger ate my words--message about Security!!!!I didn't say anything bad--

Gonna go look at moon, too.

Bill said...

Norma,I neglected to call Byrd's office yesterday because I was doing some things around this holler we live in,I saw on my ID that I had another call from the US Capitol

normabyrd said...

normabyrd said...

ELKINS BILL---Bet his office will keep in touch!---He has always loved the EAGLES!!---Very PATRIOTIC!!----I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PROUD OF HIM!---

paula eagleholic said...

Hidey is eating very quietly....far cry (ha ha) from Thursday when he peeped for over 30 minutes before digging in because of the parent in the tree.

Glad you get to see him, Deb!

Bill said...

Did anyone see just what was for breakfast??

stronghunter said...

Bill, it was something white, I think, but not sure what it was.

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' DEB & PAULA!----I am going on a hike today about 10---But I won't see all the wonderful things you see DEB!---will be fun---

paula eagleholic said...

Enjoy, Norma! Will you get to see the gkids soon?

stronghunter said...

On second thought, I see the white thing beside Hidey. Do not know what that is.

Bill said...

I also had another E-mail from USFW wanting more info about the DC situation, replied with a rather lengthy mail trying to explain it was more about the access road than the actual bldg

paula eagleholic said...

Judie - Hope you get into the Post! Was it a letter to the editor?

Bill said...

Looked like a feather to me when she was moving it around

paula eagleholic said...

You would think on 12 acres that they could find another path for the road.

paula eagleholic said...

Could be a leaf as well.

normabyrd said...

PAULA----Grand-kids are at the beach with DAD!---But we plan to get them some time after they get back---They come up for a mo every summer!---they are also seeing all their Berryville friends!!---

paula eagleholic said...

I'm sure you are looking forward to that, Norma!

paula eagleholic said...

Hidey really attacking that breakfast, only popping his head up every once in awhile.

deb said...

What kind of hike are you going on, Norma?

stronghunter said...

My son came in a couple of days ago to check that George was safely in the house. He said he saw a big bird fly over with something large and grey. George is fine. Don't know if someone else lost a cat, or if it was a squirrel or something.

George weighs about 17-18 pounds. Would be a pretty big load for a bird.

Bill said...

I know that the USFW has some mighty power, the complex we are building was held up for two years trying to get proper permits,it sits surrounded by wetlands in caanan valley.almost completed and they are there checking it out very often

paula eagleholic said...

Shirley - George is definitely too big to be carried off!

paula eagleholic said...

Hidey just moved that white thing over to the right some more.

deb said...

An eagle can lift about 3-5 lbs.

stronghunter said...

It does look like a feather. Maybe Hidey is eating duck?

paula eagleholic said...

Have ya'll notice how big the zoom picture is now? Nice.

stronghunter said...

George is a load for me to carry around. I think he's not likely to be hauled off by an eagle. He's also an indoor kitty.

paula eagleholic said...

Shirley - if Hidey was eating fowl, you would see many many more feathers.

stronghunter said...

It does get big when you zoom, doesn't it? I have the cam set on 125%. Better for my old eyes.

normabyrd said...

OSPREY DAD--made a FOOD DROP at the FINLAND NEST---OSPREY MOM is feeding the CHICKS now!!----Those CHICKS are so polite! ho!---No fussin' or fightin' at that site!!

stronghunter said...

Yes, I would think so. I did see a fowl being eaten by the Delta eagles. There were lots of feathers and webbed feet visible. Just thought maybe Hidey had only a part of a duck, but I suppose it is more likely fish.

stronghunter said...

Could be an eagle feather in the nest. I am sure Hidey has ruffled his parents' feathers and probably caused a few to be shed.

paula eagleholic said...

Beak cleaning

paula eagleholic said...

Picking at the white thing now, might be part of the fish...

normabyrd said...

WHOA!!--ELKINS BILL---you better believe the USFW has POWER!!---Sometime I would love to hear your opinion on the WIND FARMS & WV--PLEASE---

paula eagleholic said...

Doing nestorations! Fell on his bum!

paula eagleholic said...

Hidey has been picking around the nest...did some calling out....now at noon...couple more calls.

stronghunter said...

A few after-breakfast comments from Hidey at her podium.
