Liberty brought breakfast in. Belle took it from him. He then flew out of nest. She moved it. Got grass all over it. Fish laying at 6 o'clock. Then she flew up into tree.
Just saw in paper that we have a minister in the area whose name is Sea Raven...interesting...no indication if male or female! Imaginative parents....wonder if she/is is a bird nerd!?!
Did anyone catch the 'feet' on one of the REBELS as he crept over to get closer to his brother--to keep warm!---Such beautiful little balls of fluff!---LOVE EM!
BWO--MT---But LISA has a wonderful article on the BWE page---She describes the feathers -- the eaglets get --- different stages of their development!----lots of info--
I think our 'LIL' ONE can be called his proper name now---- "BIG BIRD"---WOW!---what would LIB & BELLE do with 3 EAGLETS as large as he is in the nest???----
MORNIN' DEB & WANDA!!---DEB---NPR says there is lots & lots of SNOW in CO!----Have you heard that?----We are expecting rain Sun---We have had some -- but could use lots more!!----WANDA -- our temp is 48°----You folks are HOT!! ho!
SIDNEY NEST!----WHOA!!--Those EAGLETS are certainly making themselves known!!----Kept getting louder & then at least 2 little fuzzy heads appeared & a large POOP SHOOT just missed MOM'S head!---Does any one know how many are there?----
DEB----Wanted to ask---Are you arm muscles sore after all the paddling?-----That is certainly good exercising!!---Bet it makes you feel better the next day??
They weren't tired yesterday, Norma, but after the day I went with 2 men, I thought my arms were going to fall off! They told me it was 15 miles, but come to find out it was 22 miles. They could out paddle me, I was always playing catch up, while they rested. When I would catch up, no rest for me, off we would go again!
DEB!---You are COOL!---First year---(I think)-- we had 3 eaglets in our nest!---1 did not mingle with the other 2---SHE did what she wanted to & when she wanted to!----I continued to say she was female!!----Used to say--I am WOMAN here me ROAR stuff!!---I AGREE with your thinking!!!--SHE HAD SPUNK!!---We still keep her in our thoughts!---She came back to the nest a few times---SHARON has some video of her---not many had cameras that year!! Lovely Saturday for all to enjoy! Just checking nest.Hidey grew some more over night I think! Gotta get ready for wedding in early PM. My ill BIL is marrying his lady after all these years. Great idea.Having minister come to house.
Yes that is the one, Jo. It shows how wide the river gets. It is replacing the Meridian Bridge, I'll look for a picture. I hated driving over the bridge from the south, it was a double decker and you had to go on the top.
That Bridge is awesome!!---- Your state is beautiful!!----I am always telling friends about the wildlife in SD----They give me a blank look----then I brag about our SD friend & her knowledge of all things wild & beautiful there!!----
These scam calls are getting irritating. I just got another "we have suspended your ATM card, press one for security department" call. There must be some people who do it, or they wouldn't keep trying.
DEB!---There is a 'do not call site'----I have been on it for a few yrs---If I receive a call---I hold on---give them my name---& tell them I am on the 'DO NOT CALL LIST' & if they call again---I WILL REPORT THEM! no more calls! I don't have the site now---but ask around---it exists!!
The old bridge was supposed to be turned into a historical walking bridge, but now the money is a big problem. The two states are hoping for some stimulus money, but I don't think they will get it. It would create some jobs, but not that many.
Norma, part of that bridge is in NE, I wonder if they helped raise the money, too?
Thx Deb. It will be emotional, but I'm trying to keep my happy face on. ☺ We were on that do not call list too. But the time may have run out. Maybe you have to redo it. We get nuisance calls from some kids who just hang up. Fubby got a caller ID machine & they're # is not available! Unlisted I guess, so can't inform parents (if there are any!)
I do the same usually, Norma, but this one was a computer, so I just hung up. I almost didn't pick up, since I didn't recognize the number. I reported them to the bank and the police last time, but we don't even have this bank around here.
Morning all. Just stopping in to say hello. Little League parade at 12. Have to see some little people in their uniforms. Loretta beautiful day for a wedding. Prayers for Bill and his new wife. BBL
From what the police told me last time, these callers set up a bank of numbers to make their calls from. Then they use a computer program that calls every possible number in an area code. When they are done, they discontinue the numbers and move on. They don't care if you are on the Do Not Call list, since they are thieves to start with.
It is sad that you have to learn this stuff nowadays.
Deb know what you mean about bridges. The bridge going into San Francisco is a double decker. The Bay bridge going to Helen's in scarey. I just look straight ahead also. When the second Bay bridge was built we were going over the first time. Jim said take a picture. TAKE A PICTURE. I WAS PRAYING. LORD GET ME OFF OF HERE. Have a great day.
It does make you nervous when they get that close to the edge, but the parent is probably right above the nest. There she backed up a little, oops right back to the edge.

Waiting on the news channel to give more specifics of a family found dead here in my town of Middletown - 2 adults and 3 children. Prayers for them and for whatever the situation turns out...
Jo, what a sad situation. Story is on www.your4state.com. Nice looking couple....wonder what makes people snap like that....there are so many other alternatives. What a shame.
I am very new to watching this, so got a little nervous this a.m. when litle one was so close to edge!!hank you Sue for reassuring me one or both parents were close by. It goes to show how very dependent humans are compared to birds, we often tend to cuddle our young to death instead of preparing them to survive hardship. I am glad someone chose the Bald Eagle as our national symbol, I take it as a beautiful example of how we should teach our young to cope with reality.

Helloooooooooooo!!! We are in the land of the Okies! Just parked and hooked up! Having a glass of wine and Jack is reading this mornings paper. Had a nice drive up here, about 5 hours.
Our storms were yesterday. Had some rain in the night and it was misty and sprinkling at times this morning. The drive up was mostly cloudy. No, we studied the weather for this weekend. Would not have come if there were going to be more storms.
Guess the plan is to head out in the morning to the eagles nest. It is under 20 miles from where we are staying. The owner here asked why we were here. Said we were not the first to stay here to see the nest.
Going to relax and have a great meal and wine. Going off diet just a little for the weekend.
hello....just stopping by to say hi, everything is fine have skimmed th blof post as best I can and caught....heading to pool and dinner later, weather is spectacular anf flowes are breataking...love ya all..
Me, either, Megan! Nice to hear from you travelers! Mits is getting a tan, and Lolly is imbibing! What a life!! Glad to hear you are both having FUN...and thanks for thinking of us as we LABOR today......we have had two days of beautiful weather!
The scam callers finally got around to calling my other phone, I decided to play along with them and entered my card number, 2233445566778899. They didn't like it for some reason. (I turned them in again.) They called from a different area code and everything, the crooks. :(
Wanda, when I got home last fall, I couldn't believe that I never made it to the Eagle Express. There was so much to do and see that Saturday, that I ran out of time. Some day I will just have to come back and make it my first stop!

DEB----Wanted to ask---Are you arm muscles sore after all the paddling?-----That is certainly good exercising!!---Bet it makes you feel better the next day??
There are three chicks at Sydney, Norma. I had to check.
Funny, I think just the opposite, but it is one of those things we will never know. Aggressive and assertive female!

We kayaked under this bridge yesterday:
Discovery Bridge
Parent, our nest!
I am anxious for the PA PEREGRINE FALCONS to start hatching----Then we can watch not only the falcons on the ledge --- but the movement on the street!!----I think because it is located on the RACHEL CARSON BLDG LEDGE----makes it special!--ho!
Gone already.
Yes, it is a special place, Norma.
Good sunny Saturday to All!
Just checked out some of the cams.. I had to turn NBG off while they devoured their breakfast as I didn't have mine yet.
I think Big Bird is very appropriate for
our eaglet - lol
WOW!----That is a BRIDGE!!!---What kind of bridge is this one replacing!!----You folks must be proud!!!----

AEF site also has 3 eggs - I didn't know that.
I think something is bothering the Osprey in HH again today. The female is upset and has her feathers all puffed out to make her look bigger.
Loretta - What a beautiful day for a very special event to take place.
I love 'at home' weddings just as much as 'church weddings'!
That Bridge is awesome!!---- Your state is beautiful!!----I am always telling friends about the wildlife in SD----They give me a blank look----then I brag about our SD friend & her knowledge of all things wild & beautiful there!!----
Merdian Bridge
Loretta, today will be a special day for everyone, but I know it will also be an emotional one. Prayers for you and your family.
These scam calls are getting irritating. I just got another "we have suspended your ATM card, press one for security department" call. There must be some people who do it, or they wouldn't keep trying.
WOW! DEB!---I just read how the bridge was funded!!---HOW PROUD CAN ONE BE!!----I am truly impressed!!----You SD FOLKS ARE TRUE AMERICANS!!

I see what you mean about crossing the bridge on the 'upper level'!
Thx Deb. It will be emotional, but I'm trying to keep my happy face on. ☺
We were on that do not call list too. But the time may have run out. Maybe you have to redo it.
We get nuisance calls from some kids who just hang up. Fubby got a caller ID machine & they're # is not available! Unlisted I guess, so can't inform parents (if there are any!)
We have a preening eaglet!
I do the same usually, Norma, but this one was a computer, so I just hung up. I almost didn't pick up, since I didn't recognize the number. I reported them to the bank and the police last time, but we don't even have this bank around here.
DEB---That COOL too-----
I always closed my eyes, Jo, except when I was driving. Then it was straight ahead all the way across.
Morning all. Just stopping in to say hello. Little League parade at 12. Have to see some little people in their uniforms.

2 BLUE HERRONS at the nest!---That is a noisy place---but beautiful!!
HORNBY EAGLE is up close & has that 'DO NOT TREAD ON ME' look!!---She is a HANDSOME bird!----

Loretta, nice to hear that your BIL is marrying his sweetie. Hope they have plenty more time together. Bittersweet time for all.
When the Do Not Call list first started it had a five year limit and then needed to be renewed....now it's forever!
Outdoor work starts again now...sweeping out garage first on list! BBL!
STORK is in nest in SPREE FOREST, GERMANY --- all alone -- standing--&-preening!!
I think the last egg has hatched at HH nest. I wish they would pan down just a little on the cam.
Yes, it did hatch, just saw its little head! It is probably resting after all that hard work.
I wish Hidey would back up just a little.
Now they have a good view of the newest chick.
I am concerned about the baby eagle is anyone else?
It does make you nervous when they get that close to the edge, but the parent is probably right above the nest. There she backed up a little, oops right back to the edge.
Now she is exploring the nest, going for another look out spot.
Welcome Anna!
I have put off my laundry for as long as possible, time to get going!
Parent just arrived.

WELCOME ANNA!!---I'm most sure a parent is on the limb above the nest!!----It is scary--& we pray a lot!---ho!
I haven't gotten my paper in yet this am----later--
Anna - if you see Hidey panting - it is due to the warmth of the day.
If you have caller ID and you get the number, you can still report it at donotcall.gov
Loretta, an emotional, but wonderful day for sure...
Anna - eaglet is fine...he has eaten and pooped today! He pants to help get rid of the excess heat, just like a dog. The adults do it as well!

Back out I go...had to take a tea break...hot out there in the sun--yippee!!!
The nasty buzz sound is gone....can hear the flies buzzing around now!!
Been working out back....what a pretty day!
Did parent feed Hidey that fish? I don't see it in the nest.
Hidey was up, looking up into the tree and chirping. Think he was putting in his lunch order.
Parent fed Hidey around 12:30
Hidey is getting good at those poop shoots!
Good Shot Hidey! Poop Shoot out of the nest!
Hidey looks huge!
I need to check out those Wood Duck eggs.

The snow is gone in OR, I am not sure how many eggs there are this year. I hope they don't have any more storms!
Only one egg in OR, hope it all goes okay.
Connecticut had 4 eggs last year, too, didn't they? Osprey eggs are about the same as eagle eggs--at least 35 days.
Thanks, Jo.
Hidey laying at the launch pad...nope he's up
CT had 4 eggs last year...and they all hatched!
Both osprey in Finny by the water.
Bet you can see Hidey above the nest rim...
Gone already from finny by the water.
The 'REBELS' have the perfect nest!------They are all lounging in the SHADY nest!----Beautiful--
I had to see the EAGLE on the nest in OR!!----Last year---I don't think I saw the EAGLE on the nest!!
I pray the EGG hatches!!!
Checking cams while I take a break. Caltrans cam is down. And I can't get Norfolk up.
Does Sutton only have obe chick this year? That's all I could see in nest.
Guess it must be me/my puter since you are watching the Rebels, Norma!
HEDGIE---The REBELS are being fed now!!----check again---
The DUKE nest rocks so much---Would think the little ones would get dizzy!!----
Yes, Hedgie, just one chick at Sutton, OK
Hidey laying at the launch pad.
PAULA-----Her breathing has slowed down----quite a bit!!---
They have been zooming in and out at OK today. There is a chance if Lolly gets a boat she just might be seen.
DANA----I noticed on the weather channel earlier---TX was getting hit with storms---hope they miss all the bad weather!!

Jo, what a sad situation. Story is on www.your4state.com. Nice looking couple....wonder what makes people snap like that....there are so many other alternatives. What a shame.
Lib brought some fish for din din...didn't take Belle long to arrive!!
Both eagles were in our nest, nice looking fish taken by Belle, time to feed Hidey.
LIb is gone, Hidey is peeping for dinner!
Hidey is really chowing down...crop getting bigger by the minute! What a little piggy!
Just sent 2 good captures to email!
I am done for today...whew! Some stuff accomplished but plenty more to do next week!
I am very new to watching this, so got a little nervous this a.m. when litle one was so close to edge!!hank you Sue for reassuring me one or both parents were close by. Weather report not sounding good for Tues. Hope you got WARM raingear, Jo!
I vote for nice weather, Megan! It is wet and cool here today.
Anne, where are you located?
It is a beautiful day here today, but I am exhausted...I must have taken a wrong turn, I can't seem to find my way to the pool...
It would have to be an indoor pool here, but even that would be nice. We needed the moisture, so I shouldn't complain.
Me, either, Megan!
Nice to hear from you travelers! Mits is getting a tan, and Lolly is imbibing! What a life!!

Megan when you get older and retire this is what you get.
Playing on the computer. My roses are in bloom on my fence. I took pictures and uploaded 4 new pics to Hawkwood.
It was really funny that Helen and I got on the blog at the same time.
Uh Lolly, my wine glass is empty.....
Margy, are you home yet? Multiple brush fires along the railroad tracks off Golf Course Rd. I can see a train igniting one...but many??
Pass it over!
Actually, I had a very small glass of wine. Will have more later with dinner. We are having salmon croquettes with green onion sauce.
Right now we are going for a drive.
BBL
I don't drink wine, but I can't find my gin and tonic! Woe is us!
Lynn, when the train goes along if a wheel is sending off sparks it can ignite a lot of fires.
No wine here either, how about a margarita?
Gin and tonic and Eagle Talons are in the Eagle Express:)
Deb, have that in Eagle Express, too:)
Hidey just can't seem to get rid of that feather stuck to her beak.
Poor Hidey, I am sitting here laughing at her with whatever is stuck on her beak.
It is still there, even after digging in her wing.
This is pretty good entertainment all right. ! Looks like a piece of tissue! Hi Gals !
Deb, look forward to welcoming you to the PARTY WAGON...er, Eagle Express;)
"Stuck a feather in his beak and called it macaroni". LOL
Hey Margy:)
That is too funny, I wanna just reach out and take that off her beak.
Gotta finish loading the van, running out of daylight.
I thought it might be something else at first, but now I am thinking feather, too.
I like the little flying thing crossing the cam too
I have to run to the store, bbs.
Ha Ha it reminds me of a feather Duster - and he is polishing his feathers! Too cute, gotta watch now to see how the story ends...
I sure hope that Hidey sneezes that off of her beak! Or that she starts to Shake it Off!
Megan - are you loading the van for Market in Shepherdstown tomorrow?
Maybe Mom or Dad will help remove that from her beak.....
Night light just came on and Belle has stayed at the nest.. But not for long.
So the feather stays on the beak.....
Belle, says "Bring that stick back here!".
She flew out of there with 'fluff' in her beak!
She's going after him...he's in trouble now:)
It is stuck on the upper beak - she just yawned and you could see where it was..
I guess it is a feather..
Hidey is going to be cross-eyed looking down at her beak.......... lol
TAKE THIS OFF OF MY BEAK, MOM
COME ON DAD - GET IT OFF
HIP HIP HORRAY!
DAD GOT IT OFF THE BEAK FOR HIDEY
I wish Deb or Paula would have been home to have made a video out of that event!
ROFLMBO
THANKS MOM!
Aww that was funny Belle or Lib trying to get that feather off of Hidey's beak.
Going to take a break and see what is going on with the RTHawk chicks.
Great to have heard from our travelers!
Miss you Mits and Lolly and sure hope you are relaxing and enjoying life!
I need to take a bath, but this is too good to miss!
Hidey is all alone - playing with a stick before going to sleep.....
It almost seemed that Hidey didn't want to give it up!
Parent pulled the feather off, then put fluff on Hidey's back, now he has fluff stuck to him. LOL
