SALISBURY — The National Weather Service in Wakefield, Va., is warning of low visibility on the Eastern Shore later this afternoon due to smoke from the Great Dismal Swamp fire being pushed toward the coast.“Visibility restrictions due to the smoky haze of 1 to 5 miles can be expected across the southeastern mid-Atlantic into the afternoon,” the weather service said.It said smoke from the Great Dismal Swamp wildfire as well as fires in eastern North Carolina will be pushed toward the Eastern Shore by midday as light southerly winds gradually become southwesterly by late morning.People with respiratory ailments are advised to remain indoors today and motorists are urged to exercise caution in areas with smoky conditions.HEY CANDY, PUT OUT THOSE FIRES DOWN THERE:)
Good morning, Wanda, Helen, Norma and Sharon. It is cloudy here this morning, hope the sun comes out soon. Thanks for the video, Paula, it was fun watching it over again.
That was a beautiful take off at 11 o'clock!
CANDY, after you get the fires put out, check out your AFTER FACIAL PHOTO.
Wanda, great job on the facial photos!
Man, Candy is going to be one hot Mother of the Groom
Good morning all! Sound like all are up and feeling their oats this morning!Paula, loved the video!!!! Attack of the giant spider! And, it was great to see Tiny enjoy his meal.Mits, do not think Candy can put out fires. According to the picture of her after her latest facial....her specialty is starting fires of a different nature. LOLMits...so envious of your stay at the ocean. We are heading to south Padre Island early August. Taking Laurel and the boys down. Michael and family may join us as well. Wahoo!! Love nothing better that the sound of the waves!Hey, Wanda....you are a good grandmother!!Joseph and Jacob both get on my computer.Accidentally earned my 4th facial last night, didn't even realize it. And, I haven't even done the third yet.
Good Morning everyone..Happy to see all of you and will need to go to earlier comments to see what all is going on! Wanda - super job on the facial picsPaula - great videoJust finished talking (& seeing) everyone over in Germany. Love thetechnology of this age!
wait til Candy's husband sees the new Candy, Lolly.
Jo, it is great that you can visit with them and see them at the same time. It makes living on the other side of the globe a little easier.
Yeah, when Candy's jubby sees her...yet another Florida fire will be started!Flamingo cam operator has zoomed in on a baby. So cute! And, so very wobbly!
Morning Jo! Fantastic that you got to talk to Germany. Great way to start the day. So, how is the newest member of the family? Probably sleeping all the time right now.
It is a wonder any flamingos survive past infancy as often as the mothers step on them!
GOOD MORNING, EVERYBODY.Paula, it looks like the one eaglet was after Spidey in your video.C(°ﮡ°)DJim
Good Morning all you great eaglewatchers.Indiana Nesting Eagles----Dave
Morning Dave - I just recently looked at the Cayuga eagle days 2008 pictures. America & the Golden eagle are something else for the eyes to behold. Fantastic!
Good Morning to ALL ( :Great video !!!
The Otter Brothers are out sunning themselves! Can't find any others out and about on the Asia Trail.Going to the Flamingos........
Beautiful little chickClose up WOWChicks have large webbed feet!I wonder when their neck startsstretching out? I remember the herons had their necks
This has been a pretty long time that the chick has been in close up view. Very interesting to watch - I'll be glad to see some more chicks up & about like this one. Cutest thing is when the chick stands up and stretches out its chubby looking legs OK Lunch time here BBL
I'm thinking I need one of those facials. lol
Me, too, Red. I am half way done in the backyard and I am dripping. Darn humidity is bad today.
I'll be dripping tomorrow. Gotta weedeat around 65 trees and mow 4 acres of yard.
did anyone else see the toucan (i think) on the Puro hummingbird feeder?
Sorry Sissy, I wasn't watching.
Oh, Woody Fans, there is another duck on eggs on the CamClickers site, Greenville, Texas. No information posted yet about it that I could find except there is a new round of incubating going on..I can't open up CHRISSYS HUMMERS today, anyone else having problems? Did fine yesterday, now says I have to install Active X..GrrrrrrrrCt Ospreys, such a close-up cam, and so beautiful, the colors and all. Empty Mountaineer Nest...Did any chicks at Flamingo site get lost? I see a little whitish thing in the bottom of one of the dirt ditches...not what I am thinking I hope. Good Afternoon, All....
magpie, I had to install the active X thing but it was no problem. I think what I had been watching before was a recording. This is so cool. They are some busy little critters.
Okay Double E Sissy, I will do that. Have to shut everything down 'cause the computer will need to restart...time for another nap for me anyway. The Wood Duck nest is a different nest, 13 eggs were in there on May 30 - incubation takes about 30 days, so maybe by next week, we will be all ga-ga with hatching again. I just checked some of the Forum comments...
Double-E Sissy, that was a great tip! It went "just like that!" and the computer did not have to restart....Now, back to snoozing for a bit.COSTUME LADY: I am going to China City Buffet tonight, meeting a gal pal dispatcher from Loudoun County, and cashing in on an almost-one-year old gift certificate....YUMM ...some crab I hope....
Everything is all PINK at Over the Water Finland...sunrise or sunset I guess.... the other Finney nest is still not working, but it looks like some progress is being made...will be interesting to see how much the chicks have grown in a week. Nighty-afternoon-Night.xo
looks like an anteater or something on the hummer feeder. How cool is this!!
If you want to see where the chimney swifts are living, go to this page:Chimney Swifts
Is RP down for anyone else?
Yes ma'am, RP is down!
Mine is back up!
Magpie I think China City only serves crab legs Fri, Sat not sure about Sun.
Hi all! Was afraid to get on....been working in the yard. Hope I don't offend you!! LOLDeb, is the chimney swift cam always so dark? Just went to it for the first time. Quite impressive the tower they built.
Great information on flamingo chickshttp://www.seaworld.org/infobooks/Flamingos/home.html
Sniff sniff Lolly I can't smell a thing lol
Lolly, there are two different cams, this view is dark the other is a lot lighter.
Finney's nest camera is broken and they have to install a new one. If you go to their site, though they have a photo gallery. You can see the three chicks in the first picture.Three chicks
Oh, thank goodness! Sure do not want to offend anyone. Really need to go shower.
RP back up for me too
Just back from visiting my Mom. Margy.....No crab legs tonight!!Only on Friday and Saturday. Other food is very good also.
Thanks everyone for passing on all the cool sites: My "favorites" is growing by leaps and bounds, or would it be "feathers and beaks." Great Photo of the Finney Chicks. DEB - Thanks for keeping us posted. Hadn't seen the 3rd chick yet. COSTUME LADY: Figured that might be the case....I have a feeling I will stuff myself regardless.Momma Wood Duck is off the eggs at CamClickers.....
Double E-Sissy - I did not get sound back at the Hummer site...that is half the fun. Might have to try something else, or again. It's about time for the afternoon arrival of eaglets, is it not?I don't have live feed.
Double-E Sissy, I think the Anteater thing is a "Coati" - their is a link to a short video on it, and the Toucan, on the main open-up page for the Hummers...
Beautiful view of the water in the background at Scottish Wildlife Trust cam, just Solo there now. Just about evening there....think of Chrissy and Frank when you view this one, I think it is one of Chrissy's favorites!
Isla just glided over the water, then landed in the nest with chow...Isla is happy...nestovers and moving sticks.
And A Poop Shoot, maybe Momma Isla brought in a peat ball, no one is eating yet....
Fort St Vrain looks empty this evening, but those early morning photo pics....5 am and 7 am show both birds in the nest....(Can anyone tell I am taking a little trip around the world?)
Things are looking pretty empty in Harrisburg, but lots of trains and traffic going by!
Barton Cove Chick looks so lonesome. DEB - Nice thing about the slide show on the Finney nest, is that two adults are in just about every one...and a nice snow shot....
Falcons on the ledge, looks like adult, at the nest box. Harrisburg.
..and a youngster at the far end of the ledge too....Harrisburg. Time for an Eagle OUR Nest...oh, birdies, where are you, still in SCHOOL ?
I see we have a MOUNTAINEER OUR NEST...
School's OutNow you can be a happy nester, Magpie
Oh, yes, Mema Jo...and where there is one, there might be more ! As NORMA would say: HO !I've been watching for ferry boats for you...
Oh no....he is at the launch pad...don't leave yet....
I just made certain that the RP was NOT UP! Still cam is all static at times!ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Funny, it seems when that an eaglet arrives, the Cam gets all excited just as we do.....I'm waiting on Live Feed too...
Barton Cove parent brought food in, and now baby must be hanging over the side of the nest of branching, cannot see it...
P O O F !!!gone, snuck out during the "rainbow""
Evening, eagle friends! How is everyone on this fine summer evening?Pretty quiet at our nest today.Guess our RP is down for the evening..I'll be checking it as I know many of you will also.
my rain forest hummer nest, does not have sound anymore, and only refreshing every few seconds....Hey Paula, no RP here:(
@Good evening fowl buddies! Been lurking some today, but also busy cleaning out drawers and closets. Also tried to replicate Wanda's seafood pasta salad...invited my daughter to stop after work for a light supper...and she forgot to stop! Doesn't that beat all? Paula...talon byte neat...looked like x-ray image!
Eaglet in nest for everyone..Out for Chinese...(me that is, not the birds...)TTFN xo
Cute lil eaglet in our nest!
Eaglet is searching for nestovers.Still no RP
yep, Paula, 2 cuties
Awww, both are laying in the nest now,,,facing opposite directions
Eaglet at BWE, also.
dose my heart good to see the BWE juvie:)
Ha Ha Hedgie - Just saw your "fowl buddies". I like that!
I wish it would refresh with its head up! Whatever it is eating must be tasty.
I saw one a couple of days ago, too. Glad they are doing well, also!
Never fails, does it Deb.
Where's the turtle shell at BWE...is it right by the juvie?
There's a partial for ya, Deb.
I saw a head for one refresh!
Now you can see the shell. I rescued a little turtle from the middle of the road today. I took its picture before I moved him to the ditch.
could be, Paula...
Gotta go feed my pesty puppies.
wonder if the BWE eagles eat Chesapeake Blue Crabs:)yummy
I see it now....the bottom...it's white. Look to the left of it just a tad...check out the bone that looks like a butterfly...
Two juvies in OK.
I went to check on the flood waters today and found a corn field full of pelicans. I assumed that whatever was behind the pelicans was debris caught in a fence. WRONG! I was too far away to know for sure, but I think they are herons,
oh no Deb, :(
Awww, still 2 eaglets...one w/ cute leg and talons sticking out...Taking the dogs for a walk...BBIALW
I just blew th e picture up and they are herons. I thought they might be brown pelicans, too, but now I can see the beak. I will have to go back tomorrow and focus on the debris--HA. I will put the picture on my page in a little while.
those doggies lead a charmed life, Paula
the juvies are at OK
Would anybody get the idea that we momsters love crab???? We are always mentioning it! Mmm...mmm good!
Paula--glad you liked my little pun.
living in this area, Hedgie, it is in our blood
we love your "fowl" humor Hedgie:)
I can hear people talking under the Delta nest....boy it is noisy there.
My pictures are on there, tomorrow I will try and get some better ones.
Deb, are they stuck in the fence?
Hi gang, just wanted to get to you before you all turn in for the night. Its still hot and smoky here. I had to have my headlights on coming home. Nasty.
two babes in the nest. dinner time.
hey Annemarie, nice to read you on here:)
yea Mits its better than emailing you from work
Twice as good, :)
speaking of crab. Jo said that she has a special way of fixing crab cakes and I want to learn how.
NO, they were standing by the fence, but from where I was I thought it was junk that had gotten caught in the fence. It wasn't until I brought it up on my computer that I realized they were birds and not junk. I thought it was corn stalks.
I wondered why you said, Oh, no. I was excited.
Where are the pictures Deb?
Hedgie want to come here an get a worry wart of a groundhog???One still in our nest
Paula love your sinshine. Now if I could figure out how to change mine I would.
Click on my name and then go to my blog page. They are on there.
gone launch bye bye from our nestThis groundhog has been last 4 yrs. 2 yards over. He has decided to dig under our fence both sides. Don't want our doggie running after him and going under fence.
Deb I love you turtle picture so glad you rescued him ( :Oh no that is terrible if they were caught in the fence. :(
got it Deb, thanks, really nice thanks. never seen a ground hog. closest we have is gofers
I am going to take the pins out of my hair and panty hose off. I'm tired. BBL
No, they were not caught in the fence, they are fine! It was so far away, I didn't know what I was looking at.
osprey in "over the water Finland " nest
Good evening everyone. It has been a busy day. Feeling somewhat better but we will be leaving for Oregon tomorrow. Will miss everyone. Will be gone about 18 days. When I canceled the paper today I think I accidentally canceled it for good. Oh well. Good night and pleasant dreams.

Ceil hope this trip is for some enjoyment if so hope you have alot ( :
Oh ok Deb duh me I thought you mean't the herons were caught in the fence during the flood. Oh thank goodness. They are by the fence and ALIVE !! Good...maybe you can get closer pics.
Ceil, if your coming through Calif the smoke is bad.... fires every where. Oregon is better. have a great time.
Mits you fly out here to me and we can meet sis. Its 5 hours to the border. :)
duh me too, Dana, thought they were caught in the fence...
They are driving to Oregon, they were supposed to leave on Father's day, but the floods had shut down roads they were going to use, she is going out to visit her son
she is hoping to see some eagles:)
I have been checking prices today for flight in October to the doings. Its almost double from last year. I'm frustrated. I will still do it boy I hate to see the dollars go to the east.!
Where does Ceil's son live?
MT nest - guess the kids are growing up...spending the night in the tree....eagle at BWE just exited.
the eagletts at washington are getting so big. their turn is next.

My sweet daughter in law who is like a daughter to me is having surgery as we speak to take some turmors off of her spinal cord. We were hoping for benign but its not to be so. I am waiting for another phone call. She is in Coos Bay Oregon right now.
Hi Paula I have my eagle deceration you gave me on my wall right by my computer. I would like to buy the picture of the barn and tree at sunset for a donation . Is that doable. I have it as a screensaver but I would like to contribute.
spell check would help..:)
Both eaglets at the West End nest are Females! And K83, aka Star, from the TH nest, has been detected by a moving radio signal, so all is well!
Anne, so sorry for the not so good news about your DIL. We will keep her in our thoughts and prayers.
The Delta eaglets announced the parent, but no food. Parent gone already.
Dana as Mits said my son lives in Oregon. He moved there from San Francisco in February. Anne-marie he lives in Forest Grove. I will be looking for eagles all the way. The Oregon nest is 188 miles from him. Don't think I will be going there. I will keep in touch with Mits and let everyone know where we are. Where's Jo tonight? Saying good bye for a while.
Anne, I am so sorry to hear about your daughter-in-law. She will be in my prayers.
Paula I am taking big breaths right now. Everything goes so well in our family as it does in all familys and then something hits. this is that time and we take it with prayer and faith.
Prayers for your dil, Anne-marie.
Guess I had better grab something to eat so I wont get sick. bbl
The waiting to hear news is difficult.
Have a good time, Ceil. Drive safe.

Anne prayers for your DILMagpie lol I missed that...you know what they say about spelling. You get some of the word right and people just read it as the right word. lol
Mits...no offense to CarolinaBeachMom, but... one time at Ocracoke, after a bad storm, there was a big sand bar right off the beach and it was FULL of crabs...everyone caught and ate crabs that day, but they just couldn't compare to Chesapeake Blues!
THAT SINSHINE AVATAR JUST BLINDS OUR SIGHT A LTTLE...DEB - LIKE YOUR PELICAN AND HERON PICTURES, AND THE TURTLE. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN "VERMILLION" FLYCATCHERS THERE...LIKE SCARLET TANAGERS WITH A ZORRO MASK. GOOD PHOTOS ON GOOGLE OF COURSE. Best of Evenings to all, and we are with you in thought and spirit ANNE-MARIE, and with all with health and safety needs....save travels for all hitting the roads tomorrow. xo
I thought Megan had the evil Sinshine! :)

grabbed a bite, you guys are the best.
I have never seen fireflys. You guys talk about them.
I hear ya, Hedgie, I grew up on the blue crab with the old bay seasoning, but I love stone crabs from Fla, and dungeness crabs from San Francisco, but my fav is the blue crab:)
Dana--what's up with the groundhog? Eating your garden? That's one thing I DON'T have here, thank goodness!
:( going to miss you my sister, keep in touch as you travel, so I can keep the momsters informed

Why, thank you Anne!Anne, you have to come in the summer to see the lightening bugs (fireflys). I'll try to get some pics for you, if I can, when they start to come out. I haven't seen any yet.
