Very interesting Lolly....glad you brought my attention to read it. I would have been wondering after this 2nd egg hatches. What in the earth was going on. I still won't like it....but at least Larry has warned us it will happen.

Well I don't think they are feeling a whole lot like sharing.
Parent made a delivery into our nest. I think it is Tiny that finally came up with it.

Now you don't have to worry Norma. He won't be going back to the nest. He will swim on his own. When tired he will climb up on Dad's back. Neat huh ( :
Middy #2 sees something out there and there he/she goes take off at 0 o'clock positon....don't know if just branches. Heard the branches up above.
well another flight but I have no clue if it was a fledge. Because of the spot of take off I think it was not.
And Middy just got up the nerve to fly off again but it took her a while.

Well our sound has certainly added a whole new perspective to takeoffs and landing.
I think Pearl was very hungry and has been crying out so much she can't stop. Only when she has food in her mouth.

well think I will head out to do a little yard work as the sun goes down. Has been so very hot and humid during the day and stormy at night that well lets say I have lots of long green grass staring at me.

Some landings aren't the smoothest...thought that one was going to fall back out of nest. Crashing throught the branches.

Quiet at both Finland nests. Think the osprey is gone from the nest on the water. Loon still sitting on baby in nest, other baby riding on dad's back. They float by occasionally. I am calling it quits.

I am new to the Blog but have been watching our two great parents for two clutches. We were disappointed last year as you guys were too. Thanks Steve for keeping the fans informed and how is your house coming along?

Wow, that was some heavy duty reading, 300 blog entries or so, just got home from a long day with the grandson, last day of 2nd grade, "field day" in sweltering conditions. Got me ready for tomorrow's heat, though. Sounds like so much action at the NCTC Nest, more to continue Saturday no doubt. Been wathing the loons incubating for so long, missed all the action Thursday and Friday. Larry's Updates are frightening! What a couple of days HE has had with his little Loon Family. Blessings to all, and Safe Travels, wherever each of you is going. Look forward to meeting 21 or so of you in the morning, hope I don't get called in to work! If I do, MEMA JO, I will call you on the phone. Tearfully.
PS: MEMA JO - I will be going straight to NCTC rather than meet at the Clarion....I come in the back way from Martinsburg, and will save a little precious gas doing it this way. xoxo

Once I get in, if I find that the Eagle Express RV has not come in yet, I will wait inside the gated entrance and follow it in...big Splashy procession for our Eagle Family...got my Eagle pin ready, cameras, binocs, etc etc.
NATURE NUT, and COSTUME LADY: I have a small surprise for you: I heard a Scarlet Tanager at the Berkeley Springs Park Friday afternoon...did not have field glasses, but I know this is what it was. I have yet to see one this year, but I have hope! Good Night, or is it Good Morning? xo

Good morning all. I see there are at least 2 in our nest this morning, really hard to tell. One, not sure which, has the head bobbing thing happening. Got to get in the shower and head to the sycamore tree.
The other one just took off from the left side of the nest. Baby Littley just watching with great interest.
Well, pic is down but sound is up. I guess I am just going to have to go to that nest and see for myself! Everybody have a great day. Will try to blog from there.

it refreshes about every minute from what I can tell.
It is hopping to front of nest near the frame. Bloon look like a "pro" in the water. lol
Mom just came back and got on nest and took the egg shell into the water. Bloon is up to the front of nest talking with sibling.
Mom back in nest then out again. I do believe she is trying to encourage the new chick to get into the water. New chick is trying to get into water. Alittle scare of the height. And off into the water the new chick goes swimming.......yea!!!!!!!!!!!!
I sent a note off to Larry so he knows when 2nd chick went into the water.
Norma you are going to have to name the 2nd loon chick. Lucy is Mom Louis is Dad 1st chick is Bloon

well I am going to make a cup of tea I guess. At least there is no point in hitting refresah. It only refreshes when it chooses to anyway which is probably a good thing. I will keep an eye and ear out but well time will tell.
RP isn't even tryign to load or give static right now. Maybe that is a good sign that it has changed...one can hope
Both the chicks are on the parents back. They are doing just what Larry said they would do ...fight to get the order of who is in charge. They just went into the water fighting both parents are around.
Is anyone else up and watching yet that is snapping pictures of our last fledge wanna be. Hoping someone else is catchign a few of these. Feeling a little lonely with an eagle still cam at the moment.
Tiny (Little) is at the launch pad. Been there awhile on the refresh cam. Hope he waits till you all get to nest.

Mom loon just swam up to nest with both chicks on her back. She hopped up into nest. Settled down for 2 seconds. Both chicks in water fighting again. Mom hops out and swim away from nest 2 chicks following and still fighting.
perhaps there are 2 in the nest now too snowy to even tell for sure. Sib may have come in for breakfast.
No guess there is just one. This is kind of rediculous. Will BLOG more if there is something to see and say.

Seems as if the heavy morning dew/fog is messing up our camera. I reset and only have black pic and static for sound. Wish I knew how to reset it, I could do it while I'm there.
Still just one in our nest.
I sure wish the Momsters and Dadsters were meeting a little earlier as it looks as if #3 is on the launch pad. I hope he waits for them to get there. Can't tell if there has been wing flapping as it is the old cam I am looking at.

Is anyone bringing a web cam. I know Vicky has wireless phonecard. She will most likely be able to get on at the nest. But I am not sure that her cam is built into the laptop.
