Some Shepherdstowner friends report thunder...just had a good downpour here, in Martinsburg, it will hit the nest site probably before getting to the town.. clearing up again here I think...hope the Full Moon can slide through the clouds for all.
Margy, I live 3 miles from the nest, in case you didn't know and it is usually the same weather there as here. The rain lasted for about 5 minutes and the sun is shining now. I think our 3 mountaineers are OK.
Your not going to believe this one.... I'm sitting here at my desk trying to get some reports and yes I have the blog up ,and I get a phone call. Its my daughter telling me she just got a phone call from his other grandparents in Pismo Beach and Brandon, my bird-watching pal ; age 7, has broken his right arm and is in the hospital. This is not the end of the world. Grandpa is a doctor, but we sent him down there with a cast on his left arm!. Now he has two! Poor little guy. I bet he is giving his grand parents a run for their money. I wish I could stop laughing its so mean of me.... But this is all so absurd.
ANNE-MARIE: Wow, two arms in casts... some inventive person needs to come up with a way for him to continue to bird-watch...binocs mounted on a hard-hat maybe? Or - hours on the computer like us homebound birdwatchers...sounds like he is in good hands...sorry to hear of the mishap though.
UPDATE ON PA FALCONS 6/17/2008 :: Fledgling Update All four of the fledglings have returned to the ledge. They all took their first flight at various times last week. As usual there were situations where the fledglings found themselves in trouble on the street or on partially enclosed low roofs. There were six rescues this year. In each case the fledglings were examined and placed on the roof of the Rachel Carson Building. They will spend the next eight weeks getting flight and hunting lessons from the adult peregrines. The ledge will still be home base for a while so Web cam viewing will continue to be interesting.
Great and interesting update on the PA peregrines, MITS THANKS- been wondering how they were making out. Those volunteer rescue teams were surely needed... I love watching that site, debris and all, like to watch and hear the trains, see the American flag and the Clock Tower, and of course, watch the birds !
My first thought when I "thought" I saw "two men" in the nest is that they were dismantling it! What strange things the mind does on an instant's impression.
I think they're in for the night too, JO..wonder how early in the morning they will leave...if it's not before 0645 I am going to miss it.... It's been an exciting day.

the crowds were unbelievable, Jo think this was the busiest day I have seen on the trail...I was only interpreter this afternoon, so spent my time from the top with the sloth bears to the bottom with the giant pandas
Magpie I hope you get to see the ducklings leaving but I have no clue what time they would start - However; once they start it doesn't take long - they just follow the leader! If the last one gets stuck - Jennifer will come open the side and let it out!
Full Moon should be a "bute" if it makes it through the clouds...
MITS - I'd give you a foot massage with PooP Shoot if I could get to ya' after your long day.
Prayers for all tonight, for wellness, safety, comfort, rest, serenity, joy, and peace.
Honor and Gratitude for all our military. May they return to the Homeland swiftly and safely, and God Bless the families as they anxiously await their return.
We have to be certain that NORMA knows about the flamingos' eggs will be hatching. I know you told her they were nesting. Would be so cool if the cam could zoom in on one of them hatching!
I'm glad you told me about the Zoo page changing... I chuckled when the eagle was there - most of those exotic birds I don't have a clue....
I just checked the OR nest - MT - still a trace of the snow.
No update on Buddy on WVEC site on the DGIF blog.
8 or maybe even 9 Burrowing owls
I don't think the bluebird's one egg is going to hatch - I know there is one chick. I think there were actually 3 eggs to being with. She is on the eggs now so I can't tell.
One evening I hit #300, Lolly. My old skin didn't smooth out one bit and like Dana - I need a hair cut! Maybe the next one I win will work! You young chicks's skin is more tender then mine!
Jo, I am doing great. Yes, I can see better out of the eye that surgery was done on. Not a huge difference, but now I can read the print when it is on TV.
WELL, CANCEL THAT FIRST OUCH..SOMEOME JUST WOKE UP, SO 2.5 CUPS OF QUICK COFFEE LATER AND ALMOST OUT THE DOOR...I'LL BE WATCHING SOME BIRDS AND ANIMALS INSIDE FOR AWHILE INSTEAD. GOOD MORNING IF ANYONE ELSE IS UP AT THIS HAPPY HOUR...
Very windy at Loch of the Lowe's (single chick Osprey) and baby is squealing..mother off the nest. White stork baby standing up for a short stretch. Saw two little sailboats at "Ferry Boat Finney Cam" (great nickname for it Mema Jo). And Mother Woody looks like she is lying on a nice soft black furry blanket and then a few heads pop out.
Okay Eagle Buds, it's all yours. Gotta go to work for real this time. You are my eyes today! Still have two in the nest...hope you get to see it.... Have a good one, in all the corners you are nesting at...
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... I see two of our flying mountaineers are in the house. Good way to start the morning. I just checked in on the little woodies, and they are still milling around Mom. Don't look ready to become Paratroopers yet. Any time now....

Received my second facial last night. Since the first one went so well, I smearded the stuff all over my bod. Wanda posted my picture after the first, but I have posted a pic after the second, under Misc. pics. Wahoo! I feel great! If it wasn't for the weather I'd go for another ride!

BWE : I think that I see the adult & a juvie in the nest.
And looking back to check it out
POOF POOF They are gone!
Lisa does have a pic of them from the other day.
It did rain some - very little.
Has now cleared and is much cooler.
Juvie is still at BWE.
Oh, if anyone wants to have your breath taken away: check out Over the Water Finland....

Going out for about 2 hrs - BBILW
I see we have a wet Mountaineer at our nest...
Like that term Wanda, "Mountaineer"
Could it be Tiny ?????
WOW I did get a 2nd win of a facial Wanda? Dang wasn't even trying lol I'll use it up after I get my hair cut this week. lol
Poor Anne's g-son 2 arms in cast. Although kids seem to be able to handle the darnest things.
Paula, you've got mail!
I think I saw a white spot on the head but not sure. Took off just like a pro though!
And one is back!
Whoo Hoo! Got home and the live feed is still on...sometimes not so good, but still there
Eaglet in the nest, searching for nestovers!
And that one took off like a pro as well.
Rained here too, just enough to mess up the lawn mowing...but I think I can at least get the trimming done....bbl
Two eaglets in the nest!
Two in our nest now!
Poor Brandon, What a way to spend the summer with two casts. Hope he gets out of the hospital soon.
Is Momma duck off the little ones???????????????????
Yes she is and that is a pile of ducklings!
I think 3 eaglets in our nest
Yes and one just flaked out in the middle of the nest!
Yep all 3 of our are in the nest ( :
Anyone else see our 3 eaglets trying to keep pieces of food in their talcons?
One just flew out must be flying over head. Cause the over 2 in nest keep following it with their head. 2nd one just flew out now only 1 left in nest.
Well, Baby Littley ended up with that stiff nestover but don't think it was worth the fight they all put up for it!
OMG, he has it stuck on his foot and can't figure out how to get it off!
Wow, magpie, i followed that link. That really is breathtaking.
Did anybody else see the fight Baby Littley had getting that nestover off her foot? It was really funny, was all over the nest.
Leaving for the night tc all hope he gets that food off lol
juvie!!
and out, must be doing touch n go's
2 eaglets...checking out crusty nestovers
Hey, one is Tiny!!
Tiny is laying down...other one working on the nestover
Both up now

I love watching that site, debris and all, like to watch and hear the trains, see the American flag and the Clock Tower, and of course, watch the birds !
ONE OF MY FAV SITES ALSO, MAGPIE..
won't be long before we will all head to Brisbane Australia to watch the peregrines there
Oh I love the pink hue in Australia!
I bet Momma WD will not sleep much tonight in that little box! I counted 9 heads a while ago and she was in the box, so who knows?
Little osprey chick heads popping up at Saaksi Marjeniemi - Parent just left the nest --might not be long before she returns...
And I think TWO Osprey at Over the Water Finland...first I thought it was two men standing in the nest...
Now of course just one, and parent back at Finneys.
Think my RP is down
My first thought when I "thought" I saw "two men" in the nest is that they were dismantling it! What strange things the mind does on an instant's impression.
My live feed is gone too Paula.
MITS - that scene in Harrisburg reminds me of Baltimore...
I've returned-No,that is not a threat
I see Mama Woodsy plopped right down on top of all those fuzzies! They aren't getting out of that nest box
tonight! lol
2 great towns, Magpie:)
juvie just joined its parents out in OK
I think they're in for the night too, JO..wonder how early in the morning they will leave...if it's not before 0645 I am going to miss it....
It's been an exciting day.
Interesting wildlife story regarding the Kiwanis herons...on the open-up page for WildLife Cams..start down on the third "paragraph."
"It is What it Is."
Nature.

LISA has a great pic of the CT osprey nest on her BWO page
Amazing about those wood ducks, what was squished inside those eggs 24 hours ago, are now ducklets. Well, ducklings. And cute ones at that.
Helen - did the zoo today have very much of a crowd? Hope your day wasn't too tiring.
I checked the cams but couldn't find you on the Asia Trail!
the crowds were unbelievable, Jo think this was the busiest day I have seen on the trail...I was only interpreter this afternoon, so spent my time from the top with the sloth bears to the bottom with the giant pandas
Magpie I hope you get to see the ducklings leaving but I have no clue what time they would start - However; once they start it doesn't take long - they just follow the leader! If the last one gets stuck - Jennifer will come open the side and let it out!
the whole family is on the rail at OK
When I was looking at the Sleuth bear yards, I thought there were a lot of visitors.
COULD ANYONE ID THE BIRD ON THE
DC ZOO BIRD PAGE?
Click on the
Flamingo picture at the bottom for the bird page
Full Moon should be a "bute" if it makes it through the clouds...
MITS - I'd give you a foot massage with PooP Shoot if I could get to ya' after your long day.
Prayers for all tonight, for wellness, safety, comfort, rest, serenity, joy, and peace.
Honor and Gratitude for all our military. May they return to the Homeland swiftly and safely, and God Bless the families as they anxiously await their return.
Good Night, all.
Take Care. xo xo xo xo
its a hooded merganser, Jo;)
FORGET LOOKING AT THE BIRDS
They already changed the picture from what it was this afternoon....
It was the bald headed eagle!
flamingo eggs should be hatching within the next week
Good night Magpie, have a good day tomorrow, hope you see the dukies take off before you go.
Jo, the pages changes every time you go to it, the kiwi was the next bird up
Good night, Magpie
Check out those ducklings in the morning! Sweet dreams
know it is the guam rail...
I may be biased, but I think that zoo site is a wealth of good info, and I encourage the visitor to go back home and use it
awww, the one juvie is inching its way over to the parents at OK
those adult eagles in OK are sure love birds, they sit very close to each other
Hi, again. Just got home and see I missed all 3 in the nest. For some strange reason I can't open up the Oklahoma site tonight.
No heronettes in the nest!
Now there is one heronette, will have to see if it came out of the tree.
Black Stork nestlings are huddled up tight, but beaks keep popping up--they look so long! Cuties!
We have to be certain that NORMA
knows about the flamingos' eggs will be hatching. I know you told her they were nesting. Would be so cool if the cam could zoom in on one of them hatching!
I'm glad you told me about the Zoo page changing... I chuckled when the eagle was there - most of those exotic birds I don't have a clue....
it sure would be nice, Jo, but those cams aren't always manned, but think they will at least fix them on the nesting site
No Kent eagles
LW eaglets are really growing......
DEB has the heronetts.......
I think it is almost bedtime!!!
Yes it is, Jo. We need to go to bed early and get up early so we can see the little woodies leave home.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE

PRAYERS
Hey JO! You can not go to bed. You gotta try for a facial!
You won't believe what it did for me and I did not loose my hair!
One evening I hit #300, Lolly.
My old skin didn't smooth out one bit and like Dana - I need a hair cut!
Maybe the next one I win will work!
You young chicks's skin is more tender then mine!
And I am sitting here yawning.....
Lolly, the Ferry Boat has returned!
You go catch a ride and I'll go on to bed lol
Oh, now I like be called a young chick!!!! Not many do that now days! LOL
Oh, yes, I plan on a ride tonight. I need the breeze blowing through my hair. :)

We're getting close who will get the facial?!!!!!
I think I got my second facial. Wahoo! Younger than spring time!!!
Maybe it will get rid of the bag still under my eye. LOL
Lolly Is your vision good now?
I haven't seen a ferry boat yet! How fast do they move??
Jo, I am doing great. Yes, I can see better out of the eye that surgery was done on. Not a huge difference, but now I can read the print when it is on TV.
July 7th I have to decide if I am going to have the other eye done. Right now I say NO! I was done and out for a month.
OK, ladies. I have posted a photo of Lolly's results after using the Poop Shoot Facial. Have a look....
The ferry goes by pretty quickly. 11:20 to 11:25 is when the next one goes by I believe.
Sometimes H-viller if you blink you missed it!
It is far out between the 2 islands.
Lolly will holler for you so you
won't miss it! lol
Wanda ROFLMBO!!! I believe that is not the picture I was going to post, but it will do! But, hey, I just earned my second facial!! Wahoo!
Is that really you Lolly!
Good thing you didn't put it on your legs or we would need to back to playing for the WAX !
ROFLMBO
ROFLMBO
Don't you think Long hair is sexy?!
Oh, Lolly, you lucky duck! LOL
Let us know when you are going to use it so a picture of the results can be shown.
Oh, I will, I will!! Gotta mow tomorrow. I think after that will be a good time. I am sure I will look gorgeous!!!
There is the osprey at the nest at the Ferry Boat Finny Cam...
He wasn't there long!
You can see the ferry coming above the trees on the left!!!!
The Osprey went POOF!
AND I THINK IT IS TIME FOR ME TO GO
POOF
