Just posted on my blog a picture Kathryn posted on FB.

A door with a big EXIT sign, even lights. And, in smaller letters a "no exit" sign and a lock placed very high. Yikes!

Mema Jo said...

Lynne, it is so easy to overdo because you don't know it is happening while you are doing...
I sure hope that hot bath/shower and some rest along with that Aleve does the trick! Thanks and I'm glad you saw those photos.

stronghunter said...

Yes, Lynne, take care of yourself. Please.

The hatch info is pretty darn broad spread of dates. Not sure if we will ever see a PIP or if it is just going to be a little bobble head peeking out at us.......

This is Terri's dates on Eagle Cam

Egg Hatching Timeline
The eggs can hatch from 35 to 40 days from the day they are laid.

Egg one laid Feb 17. Hatch dates March 24 thru March 29

Egg two laid Feb 20. Hatch dates March 27 thru April 1

Egg three laid Feb 24 Hatch dates March 31 thru April 5.

Hi all! Was not able to get on this morn, but have now read through the blog. Love and peace? Really, Lori? Anyone reading this blog would think "what the------?" I mean...Jufie and Shirkey! Roflmbo

I love you all.....including Lynneduh! Lol

We have stopped for the night an hour north of Salt Lake City. Snow in Cheyenne and Denver today, but have checked the weather and we will be okay! Sunny and higher temps for the next few days.

We saw a lot of nothing today and not much in between!

Hmmmm, betting Miss Lolly thinks she's safe in her motor home near Salt Lake City BUT Jufie and Shirkey are too clever by far...sleep well Lolly.

LynneDuh, hoping a hot shower/bath will help you sleep and heal. If you have a heating pad, that might also help.

Judie said...

I think I will put away my library book for tonight - need to find a hiding place.

Margy, thank you for the update. Do hope the hand will not be painful tomorrow after today's workout.

Will try to watch some news then dent the pillows.

Sandperson is now dragging his full satchel down the stairs. Think I detected the outline of a stun gun should Jufie and Shirkey show up.

Night light is on. Restful sleep for all.

stronghunter said...

The door is in the building where Hunter had baseball practice this evening. Kathryn said it was cold and dusty in there. I would think the fire marshal would be quite concerned about it.

stronghunter said...

Hope that the Sandperson has a good evening and does not encounter any Exit doors that are not really exits.

Maybe Jufie and Shirkey have been in that building.

Mema Jo said...

Prayers for Sandi and family. It will be good to hear from her soon.

It's been a long day - no TV this evening worthy of my time. I'll
be thankful when some new shows start.

Jenny coming by in the morning - I always look forward to her visits.

Goodnight to all and SED and AOYP
I love us....... ♥

My door is locked! Jufie and Shirkey can not get to us!!!

Heading to the shower and then to bed. I am pooped!

I shared pictures on fb that Laurel posted of Joseph at his track meet. She told me today that he lost his soccer game 2-1. However, the two coaches from the other team commented to Joseph and to Joseph's coach what a great goal keeper Joseph is. We count that as a WIN!

Texted with Joseph tonight. Kidding bac and forth. Love that boy!!

Night all! SED!!

stronghunter said...

Didn't you have a problem with that lock, Lolly? Have you considered that Jufie and Shirkey might have had something to do with that?

stronghunter said...

Don't you have ceiling vents on that trailer, Lolly? Listen carefully for footsteps on the top of that fancy trailer.

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

Here's hoping you all had a good rest with no "things that go bump in the night" due to the villainous pair we heard so much about yesterday !

JO, thanks for posting Terri's hatching chart. Looks like we should prepare for action starting immediately. Yeah !

Thinking of SANDI sis Lisa as these next few weeks with be filled with all the things it takes to bring a sad chapter in life to a close.

Prayers for the safety of our travelers and for the healing of those in pain !

Seth and Penny will be up and at em' in another hour. Seth heads back to the college dorm this evening, having had a good Spring Break. I've enjoyed his Break, too !

Good morning my eagle friends.

I actually posted a very long post yesterday morning at about 5am, woke at 4:30 and couldn’t get back to sleep, but when I hit publish, it was lost and I just didn’t have the energy to retype everything. That’s why I posted test a little bit ago, just to see if the message would go through (then deleted it). I cleared Mom’s cache this morning, thinking that may have been the problem yesterday morning. I guess it was.

Anyway ... my motto these past few days has been to be like a shark. You know sharks have to always be moving; if they stop, they’ll drown. So I have been moving so I don’t drown. I have accomplished a number of things on my to-do list - canceling things like mom’s cell phone, the newpaper delivery, Mom’s land line (since we all have cell phones), and forwarding Mom’s mail to our address. I have contacted one company where Mom has some investments and asked for the paperwork to cash them in, since that’s the money that Mom figured to use for her funeral. The funeral expenses have been paid and I contacted the memorial company where Daddy’s headstone came from, to have a matching one made for Mom.

Friday and yesterday were awful, the saddest 2 days of my life. I was able to stand up and speak at the funeral. Since I didn’t get to say a last goodbye at Gilchrist, I wanted to say goodbye to her in front of the people who knew and loved her and came yesterday. Writing the words was very easy but I wasn’t sure that I would be able to get them out through all the tears. Denny stood beside me, ready to pinch hit if he had to. But I got through it - I was very emotional at first but, once I started reading Love You Forever by Robert Munsch (a favorite book of mine and Kevin’s), the teacher in me took over and I was OK. If you don’t know the book, do a Google search and read it online and you’ll understand why I chose it.

Thank you for the beautiful flowers. I will take a photo of them and post it on my blog when I get home. I will also try my best to keep the plants alive. It’s a rectangular basket with 6 individual potted plants in it - an African violet, an ivy, a peace lily, another green plant that I’ve owned before but can’t recall the name of, and 2 flowering plants that I’ve seen often that start with a c but I can’t remember the name right now.

Sandi said...

I really have felt your prayers, your strength, and your positive energy these past few days - thank you; I love you all. I especially felt it yesterday as I stood in front of all those people and tried to compose myself enough to speak.

I was not initially in favor of having a cemetery funeral - mom had spoken recently about maybe being cremated and said she really didn’t care what Lisa and I decided. Lisa was more in favor of burial so I deferred to her. But when we got to the cemetery and I saw that Mom had her father on one side of her and Daddy on the other (I’m not a cemetery goer so I hadn’t been there in many years), it seemed right - we made the right decision.

The best part about the past 2 days was spending time with my sister-in-law and my niece and 2 nephews (my brother’s 3 children). I keep in touch with Rebecca and Jake on FB and they have been to visit us at the beach, but I haven’t seen my brother’s oldest - Ben - in almost 20 years. They are all just as puzzled about Gene’s refusal to call and/or see Mom in these past few months and they made no excuses for him. We laughed and hugged a lot, Brian and Kevin spent a lot of time catching up with their cousins, and I hope it’s the start of a stronger relationship with them. It changes nothing about my feelings toward my brother but the rest of his family will still be a part of my life.

Also this week, I contacted the mother of a former student who is a realtor. I messaged her on FB to ask if she would be interested in handling the sale of Mom’s condo. She messaged back, “You took care of my baby for a year when she was 10; it would be my privilege to be able to repay you for that.” I will probably arrange to meet with her this coming weekend to take a look at the condo and discuss a time line for getting it on the market. We have to be in Elkridge anyway b/c Madeline’s ice skating show is next Saturday - Lion King on Ice and Madeline has a pretty big part this year as one of the 3 hyenas.

Enough rambling. It will be back to Bethany for us this afternoon and back to school for me tomorrow. Being around the kids will be a good thing - no time for self-pity when you’re surrounded by 100 eighth graders!

I am woefully behind on what’s happening in all of your lives and hope all is well in eagle blog land. Again, I thank all of you for your endless support through this very sad time in my life. You really do mean so much to me!

Have a good day.

Sandi said...

This was the first time in my blog career that my post was too long to publish all at one time. My apologies for taking up so much blog space this morning! :)

stronghunter said...

Hello Sandi,

No apologies necessary . . . I read every word of your posts. We have all been thinking of you and your family, especially this weekend.

It sounds like you are very much on top of the business you must take care of now, and that you handled the funeral service beautifully.

Nice that you got to see your brother's family after all of these years. I do hope that the cousins will continue to stay in touch.

Good morning ! Gotta eat and we are off. Sandi, can not believe you read that book! One of my favorites, still have it. You are doing great, knew you would. Your mom is proud, I know.

Overcast here and looks to be at the nest, also. Lots of fresh flugg this morning. Do hope the snow does not visit the nest.

Did some advance cooking and laundry yesterday. Today is reading the last library book that I managed to hide successfully. Maybe because Jufie and Shirtey were visiting Lolly's lock?

Seems they may have also visited Hunter's baseball practice building.

More coffee is calling. BBL

So very thankful to read your posts SANDI.
Great book.
Love you forever.
You are one Rockung Awesome Daughter!

Well LOLLY I have been to Cheynne. North of there are the Windrivers! Awesome back country hiking. Spent a week there.

JUFIE and SHIRKEY found me and did they play havock with my mind! All I have to say is this fancy house is too fancy for its own good!!!

From 10:00 PM till 2:00 AM I was dealing with their mess!!! I am exhausted! I almost phoned the fire dept!!! I swear I was so close to cursing and I have not been there for decades!!!

I was reading and relaxing and the fire place turned on!!! PARDON ME???
I just stared at it not quite comprehending!!!!
It is a gas fire place and yes indeed it was a fire I was seeing and ice indeed it was getting warm in the Library room!!!

Apparently the owners told me from Morocco that it comes on automatically when it is cold!!!
Well they should have told me before they left!!! This is bloody canada for God's sake! It is cold here!!! I am responsible for a house that fire starts on its own when it gets cold??? What if I was not here!!!

Then with photos and dials I had to show them where the dial was and I wanted it off and it is complicated to do so!!!

Keep these two away from me JUDIE for the coming three months!!!

Oh!!! AND NO ONE LAUGH!!!
I am so suffering from lack of sleep!!!

Never apologize for length of posts---you'll put a guilt trip on me---for I am unable to be concise and probably hold the record for long posts overall !

HODA, what a night you had ! Good outcome and we can all laugh now, but it had to be most disconcerting to see that fireplace light up !

JUDIE, when you and Darth find your idea retirement locale, do us a favor. Move out in the middle of the night while those two scoundrels are out doing their evil deeds and PLEASE do not leave a forwarding address. New owners of your place will be in for a BIG surprise !

so sorry for the lack of sleep HODA you need to take a nap go put your feet up by the roaring fireplace

stronghunter said...

Oh my goodness, Hoda!

I hope you got the fireplace turned off, but please remember that it has surely done that lots of times without burning down the house.

My fireplace operates when we put wood into it and light it with a match, so I am not accustomed to such things, either.

Cheyenne, Wyoming--I think of two things:

D.T.'s Pink Elephant Bar and roosters

We stopped at a campground in Cheyenne many years ago and spotted the bar in an evening trip through town. Rus and Kathryn did not understand our amusement when we saw the neon pink elephant dancing above the establishment.

(Bar owner had one weird sense of humor, I guess, or maybe he just did not know.)

The next morning, we awakened to the crowing of a multitude of roosters. I have never heard so many roosters in my life.

Kay said...

JUDIE, HODA, could be a very good Nancy Drew story, too !

Sorta quiet here tonight but was happy to hear that Lolly & Jack are parked for the night. They also had very strong winds and that isn't any fun with an RV.

Hoda said...

You make a good point SHIRLEY!!!
Yet in a furnace there is a pilot light and the flame area is protected when it kicks in...insulated and I do not see it and there is no room for tampering.
In a fire place there is only a pane of glass shielding the flame...
Point very well taken though and you are correct. It has not come on today and I am hoping we get warmer weather and this would not be a problem...

WOW Something is going on...loud sirens just passed the lake house...

stronghunter said...

Hoda, I hope you can relax and enjoy your stay. I don't think the fireplace would be set up to work that way unless it is safe. If it comes on automatically, it is expected that it will come on when no one is around.

Just think--if you have a basic fireplace with wood in it, you are not going to wait until the fire goes completely out to go to sleep or to leave the house. You are just going to close it up. We have glass doors we close when we're not attending the fire.

stronghunter said...

Latest forecast for our area is 1-3 inches of snow on Tuesday. Might close down schools again.

Time for me to sleep, and so I wish everyone SED.

Lori O. said...

Good morning all!

Haven't heard any news of a hatching yet, and still dark out there, so hoping we can see a pip later today ... hmmmm...or do we already have one. I didn't see anyone mention one.

Prayers continue for you, Sandi. Glad that inner Shark routine is working for you. I never knew that!

Yay, I have today off from school and clinical. I'm using the time to finish homework and study for the Pediatrics Final tomorrow, and the Med/Surg(ery) cardiac test on Wednesday. Lots to do!

I love you all!!!

Big hugs for everyone!!!

Goodorming Lori and all my eagle friends.

Lori, enjoy your day off from school (though it's really not a day off from work - hang in there).

What's the latest on Thelma's Buddy? Is he OK?

Hoda, we have a gas fireplace that can be set to a certain temperature. Occasionally we have forgotten to turn it off when we go to bed and I have come downstairs in the AM to find it turned on - quite a surprise but really not that dangerous.

Today will be my first day with an extra 30 minutes. We had off last Monday for snow and went in 2 hours late on Tuesday, then I was out the rest of the week. Bet I'll be exhausted by 3:30.

Have a great day all.

SANDI, will be holding you in my thoughts today as returning to work will be tough, I know. You'll feel every minute of those extra 30, at least for the first few days.

LORI, Wahoo ! What's the occasion for the day off today ? So glad you have it though you'll spend it hard at work anyway ! Is there any break or vacation time between now and your August graduation ?

Good morning,

Having coffee and breakfast.

Hunter finally pushed things too far and missed the bus this morning. I hope he decides to get dressed a bit earlier tomorrow. We shall see. Not a really big deal to drive him over to the school.

After all of his adolescent grumbling, he got excited because he spotted a hawk as we were driving to school. I was too busy driving to look, so he described what he saw.

Baseball practice this afternoon. I hope it gets warmer!

Sandi have a good day back - may it seem shorter then it really is. I read the DE will forgive up to six school days lost to this winter's repeated bad weather.

Lori - great to have a day off - more time to study and get ready for tomorrow. Soon you will be able to put all your newly learned skills to work. Really proud of you and your job change to what you really want.
