Paula did you put your air conditioners in?

Thinking about GG's A/C. Whether she had it set wrong or if something is wrong with her A/C too????

Sharon had said before the house needed fixing up. That was before she moved with Thelma. So I am hoping that everyone there gets together and has a fixer up Party for Sharon. Helping to get the placed fixed for her and Thelma.

Well need to brush teeth and head for town for hair cut.

Oh I did see where one of the NBG eaglets fractured its leg. Glad they were where they were. So it can get the help it needs. It will get fixed and fledge with the other 2. ( :

Margy, this absentee problem seems to be out of control!!!!!!!! Sounds like "someone" needs to start taking action. Hope things quiet down for the rest of the day.

Little Loony just got up onto the nest with ease. Just climbed right up and is in front of mom. Yea!!!!!

Lolly said...

I know you can not tell Mom from Dad loon, so I just say it is mom on the nest and dad in the water. What the heck!!! LOL

Lolly said...

It is the time of day that the colors are so pretty on the Loon nest. You can see light blue sky, dark blue water, brown, green, tan and yellow. So pretty! And the water sound is putting me to sleep! ☺ Oh, and the beautiful colors of the Loon, too!

paula eagleholic said...

I see baby Loony :)

Lolly said...

He is a tough little character. Right after he hatched yesterday, he would have nothing to do with staying under mom! LOL

I am now off to eat breakfast and start my day. Can not stay glued to the Loons like I would really like. Oh, well!!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Just got home and so happy that the Loon baby is back the nest. Margy won't need anymore updates. Now, I'm off to go look at the fuzz ball!

hedgie said...

2nd loon egg is hatching per FB!

Lori O. said...

How sweet! So glad little Loony is safe. That nest sure has a nice sound to it with the water lapping up against it. Wind is a bit much there today though.

Now hear this ***********
Coastal residents, you've been warned: Hurricane season has begun. The six-month Atlantic hurricane season begins Wednesday and continues through Nov. 30.

Here is hoping your BP isn't too high or too low and that your
check up is Good!

Lori O. said...

Had hoped to do some cleaning today, but a nap sounds a whole lot better!

Sitting here at the desk and about half an hour ago I heard a squeaking noise I thought was a hurt bird but couldn't find anything outside. Just realized it's my shoe! Probably could use that nap. LOL

hedgie said...

Go to sleep, Lori! When you hear shoe squeaks, it's time!!

Jim, hope your b-day was delightful! Good planning to have your check-up right after---easy to remember!

Oh wow! Second Little Loony is here! Look quick if you aren't already!

Kay said...

How sweet it is to see little loon #1 paddling around with dad and little loon #2 almost entirely out of his egg shell. Mom returns from a visit with Dad and 1, promptly plopping right down on emerging chick. LOL

Lolly said...

Mom is now on the nest. First little loony is in the water with Dad. Second little loony was half out of the egg. Hurrah for the Loony family! Congratulations! Keep safe little loonies!

LORI, LOL "The Case of the Squeaky Show"---Nancy Drew, where are you ?

JO, do so love your purty yellow flower !

DANAMO, Happy last day of school ! Best wishes for a fun filled summer ! Great avatart !

Apologies to all Early Birds at SSCC ! After watching the Endeavor crew bring her home for the last time I took the A/C down a couple of notches and fell into a wonderfully refreshing sleep. Woke up at 8:45. Did not allow myself the guilty pleasure of coming here until all my little household chores, e-mail, news catch up and shower were a done deal.

Lynn, I think you're right on the cam situation. Hope, as you once suggested, they figure out a way to cover the cable with PVC or something to prevent future invasions.

Kay said...

JO and LORI, your new and lovely avatars put me in the mood for another, too. Incorporating yellow flowers with a parrot in memory of my own dear Rico, seems a good thing to me.

Kay said...

Oops, I meant, "The Case of the Squeaky Shoe" and wound up with "The Case of the Wrong Letter" !

my post didn't post...

Please say a prayer for Brother Cat. He is missing. He stayed in all day yesterday and went out last night as usual but has never returned. He didn't eat either. All his food is still there. VERY unusual for him....

paula eagleholic said...

3 chicks all lined up in a row at BWO :):):)

hedgie said...

Oh, Lynne....so sorry. Pray that he is just having a special adventure and will come home when he gets tired or hungry!! Has he ever done this before? Does he spend much time outside normally?

JudyE---love your little ditty!!!

Kay, great that you slept in! I think I could have....but not fair to Liesl! Surprised she let me go as late as I did, but she WAS awake when I came down the stairs.

Mema Jo said...

Lynne - I'll be thinking of him.
If he is a hunter - the rabbits are
out in numbers. Twice my Scar has
thought he would stay out all night but around my 4:15 loo time - he will be sitting at the door
waiting to be let in.
I hope Brother Cat is alright.
My two have chosen inside today instead of outside!

Hi,

My seniors are enjoying their tea and snacks and looking over their yearbooks. They did poetry presentations earlier.

Showed them the loon nest, but I have not yet seen the little loons.

Lolly said...

Oh, Lynne! I do hope Brother Cat is okay! We have had that happen with Annie, but she is usually on the patio in the morning. Wishing him home to you!!!!

Lynne2 said...

He goes out for a couple of hours every night....almost. We put him on the sunporch with access to the laundry room at night with the outside porch door open so he can come and go.... because he will literally tear up the house if we keep him inside. Sometimes he doesn't go outsied anymore. But sometimes he does. But it's been a VERY long time since he's missed a meal....but he didn't eat his dinner.

Lolly said...

Shirley, one loon is on the water and the other is under Mom.

Lynne2 said...

Steve's gone up and down both of the roads, and we've both been out looking several times. Nothing.

Great avatar, Kay. He was a lovely bird. I'm sure you miss him. :(

For those not on Momster mail, Chrissy sent this:

"Sorry I've not been in touch,, but as you can imagine it's been all things nest this past week,,,,

Today was our last day for hopes of a hatching of the 3rd egg,, nothing has happened,,, so I think that's hopes have now gone,,,

Isla and the Laird did all that they could, as best as they could,, but the weather has been against them,, it isn't a case of Isla being infertile,, no!! it's purely down to the terrible weather that they have had to contend with,, from biting gales and icy temps, to rain that we haven't seen the likes of for 40 years,, so everything was stacked against our wonderful pair this season,,,,

I know, well we all know that these Raptors can only keep these eggs warm if the weather allows,, such a fine dividing line,,

So this year we won't have chicks and our birds will migrate early we hope,,,, we still have two healthy and strong Ospreys and with Gods Good Grace they will return next season,,,,

But,, firstly SWT must allow the pair to continue to sit on the eggs until they get bored and abandon them,, then they must come and remove the eggs for DNA and to see why and where the weather affected the eggs,,, but we all know that SWT will probably miss this golden opportunity,, they need to get data from Isla,, they don't have any at all,, only photographic and video clips,, no DNA at all,, so the eggs will give them all they need,,,

If they pass on this,, it's a one time gift for them,,, then I'm truely finished with them for good,,, as far as I'm concerned they are hanging by a thread as it is with the general public,, but then they will cry,, "It cost to much",,, never mind the Scientific data they will collect and have for the future of the Osprey World,,,"

Pretty much what we all had feared. Maybe next year.....I would not be surprised to see Isla return yet again!

Thrills, chills and cherry pills---remember that old saying?
Now there is a pool next door...one of those blue things with the funny shape that always reminds me of the bottom of a nuclear plant cooling tower! And like the kennel cage, swing set and trampoline, it is UNLEVEL! And this jerk was a contractor. Doesn't he know how to level ground or items he puts on it??
Sorry---had to rant.

Bad storms in Orlando. Courtroom broadcast feed down.... :(

hedgie said...

Breeze has really picked up here....sun in and out. No severe storm watches or warnings yet, but possible. It'll probably hit about the time that Liesl and I have to leave!

hedgie said...

Severe thunderstorm watch just issued for all surrounding areas in the tri-state region.

Hi, Everyone,

Mighty relieved to hear that baby loony is OK! Hear that the other one has hatched, too. Congratulations to our loon pair!

Thankful for the safe Shuttle landing, too. It always seems like such a miracle when they glide in and land!

Hope the weather back there gives all of you a break! So far, so good here--looking for a high of about 70. Wish I could send it your way, quickly! Hope the weather holds for Lynn & Liesl, and that puppy class goes well.

There's much to do today, so gotta get busy. I'll check back in later. HAGD! :o]
