Worked in the yard until just recently. Boy am I pooped and still have the house to get in order. The boys sort of have a way of rearranging the house. LOL Also, the beds are unmade but have clean sheets ready to put on.

We've been complaing about AC at Park being too cold.New thermostat, w/temps locked by someone who isn't there!!!(Big Brother)AC is set at 72° which required a jacket in AM, but was fine today!
Ms. Osprey today was shielding all 3 chicks with her tail spread as well as her wings. Every 1/2 hour or so, she flew into the water for a splash & the chicks loved the shower!
The friendly giraffe came by today and saw both eaglets in the nest, I gave him my camera~~will check soon if any pics! ☺

Was hot this afternoon 95 not a record! at lunch it felt nice the winds changed directions coming from the east so the spine of the state is usually the hottest and with the winds comin from east we are hotter than they are Our lucky day LOL
My air conditioner was down about a month ago 60 is all it cost me for the part can't remember what it was CRS Some-timers or Half-timers or all three

How did we live without air conditioning? We did not have it in our first house, though we did buy a window unit for the bedroom. It made such strange noises.
We did not have it in our camper, either. And we went to some hot places. I remember being in Salt Lake City when it was 100 degrees. (Though not humid.) I refused to cook dinner in the camper that night. We went out to eat. Did not have a problem convincing hubby. No one would have wanted to heat the place up and then try to sleep there.

No A/C in my cabin when I bought it. Got a window unit which was only marginally efficient. Lasted four years, I think, before I got central installed....wish now that I had gone ahead and made it a heat pump, too. Can't imagine that any houses are built today without central heat/air.
Yep...all on schedule for Endeavour landing.....can't wait! Think I'll visit the pillows and set the alarm to get up in time.
Shirley, apparently the renter of Sharon's house was on a month-to-month, so they were able to get back into it without having to give him too much notice. Yep---same house!

So, hoping today was a good one for all.
Update: got my "do" done, walked through a parking lot where a tree has dropped a gazillion purple berries (inedible, I'm told) which stained sole of both new walking shoes and car mat, Darth and I met with the air conditioner person (owner of company), prepared left-overs, cleaned up dishes, and now sitting here sweating to death.
Need an entire new air conditioning unit and we have decided to upgrade with a new furnace -- makes sense ecologically and financially. That will occur next week.
See that a loon baby has been hatched. Congrats to mom loon.
So, going into a cold shower and then, hopefully to get a little sleep. Awake most of last night from heat.
All-in-all, not a bad day.
Be back in the morning before I have to attend a police faculty meeting.
Nightlight is set for automatic at 11:00pm. Restful sleep for all.

Just to clarify - I did get to move back into my parents' house. The man was doing a rent to own and had paid on it for about 7 months. He quit paying in April. He tried to get another job, he said, and didn't get it, so he sent me a text that he guessed he was going to find a place to move to. Come to find out, he was wanting to move to NC anyway, so I shot him back a text saying, okay, when are you moving? With Thelma not doing well, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to head back home. He had made a lot of repairs to the house but there is still a lot to be done - painting, laying flooring, etc.
Do not understand. I have checked all my settings. Everything is set for friends only. You are my friends, right? LOL

Soup Kitchen was really hopping this evening! We had 43 guests...our best turn out! We ran out of Chili (didn't know Gene was making that, in addition to my TEX MEX an BAKED CORN CASSEROLE. I threw some cans of ravioli in a pot with a bit of left over Tex Mex, to replace the Chili, heated up some green beans and corn to replace the baked corn and made another bowl full of fruit salad.
Clothing was, again, quite popular. One lady came in and filled her bag with clothes, grabbed a soda and left, didn't even eat:)
I am so sleepy...must say good nigh now.

I am going to call it quits and go to bed.
I am having trouble finding some of my summer clothes. There is an outfit I want to wear tomorrow. It is actually a couple of years old. Cannot find it anywhere. So I will wear an outfit that is five or six years old.
I was keeping out-of-season clothes in the closet in what is now Kathryn's room and had to get them out of there. I just do not have enough storage space anymore. Just need to get rid of things so I can find the things I really need. I have not had time to do those things. Another reason I am counting the days.

Paula, you are absolutely right...some guests stayed a very long time. We had boo coos to drink and ran out of that too. Quickly made some pitchers of instant lemonade that Margy and James brought when they visited:)

I know how much you all love my Stingbug stories...so here is something new to report.
Since it got REALLY hot over the last couple of days, there have been VERY FEW of them. So it leads me to wonder....is the extreme heat killling them? Are they frying in the walls?

LOL, Wanda----I was thinking more along the lines of egg salad and tuna sandwiches with crisp lettuce and maters, and some jello salad or green salad, and watermelon!!!

Day one of new and improved eating went very well. I am doing the Six Week Body Makeover. I was doing that a few months before I started dating Steve, and lost 30lbs! You figure out your metablolism type and get guidlines on what the best foods are to eat, how often to eat, portions, etc. Really easy. In fact, I am to eat 5 small meals a day, and could only eat 4 today. Not hungry enough! No processed food at all. Just plain healthy eating. And they give you a lot of recipes too, although I'm not that fancy!

Stinkbugs I transport outside, earwigs, I snap 'em up in some kleenex if I can catch them, they're fast !

OMG Loons are making lots of calls. Mama left the nest and little loony followed her into the water. She jumped off so quick that little loony was upside down. Too funny. One adult is back, rolled the egg, but little Loony is still out on the water. I do not like that!
Oh Margy, you shouldn't put them outside! They'll breed and that's a bad thing. And eat crops! I flush them.
