Glo I gave up on reading that chat. After a lot of us tried exlaining why last season the chicks name was Palmer. Some finally excepted it and others just were plain mean. I don't need that kind of unfriendliness. So I don't even look at that chat.

You have to realize that every group or chat or blog that watches this nest is gonna come up with their own names for the chicks.
Exactly, Megan. So we can just stick with our name here....now, Palmer was different...very special eaglet.
Agreed, Palmer is special. And we've gotten them to accept that Liberty and Belle are the adult names. Getting everyone to agree on a chick name, good luck with that.
There are some groups out there that will respect our choice....the OD is not one of them, it appears.
You are both right--I am just a little defensive of all of you--You have certainly put in the time and effort and lots of love.

Back at work this morning.
I see we have a little one! I hope that we'll soon have a fish to feed mom and baby.
Both parent there now.
So you can't see that chick at this time.
I have gotten 2 pictures. Other chick was under parent peeking out. This other one has been laying on opposite side of parent. Out in plain site.
Like I said can't see now because both parents are there now.
NBG still has two chicks, right? They are both in the nest cup.
Oh so happy parent got up both chicks are ok and being fed. Was just some fuzz color of chicks.

That older chick at NBG just won't let that little one get any food. I'm sure since it hatched it has ate. This time it got no food :( The older one just "pecks it badly". Remember Pecking Pearl???
Maybe if enough of us, on here, go to the OD chat and mentiion the name that Paula suggested "Paddy O'Joy", they will like it and use it:) I just did!
I expect the folks on the forum consider themselves the primary group for this nest. They do not even know we have our own blog or that we have been here for years, so it is understandable.
Also, anyone who looks at the live cam will see them and not us unless they already know.If there is a new cam next year, what will happen to them?
I say we let them go their own way, buy keep up the good will. The more support we have for this nest the better.
So we have our names for the eagles and they have theirs. They are just establishing their own group.

The group that sponsors the nest had names picked out for different dates that the eggs could hatch.
They've named the eaglets every year the nest has been here.
You can call the eaglets whatever you want, but officially this eaglet is Paddy O'Joy.
FYI: If there is a second eaglet this year, history will record it as being called _____.

Seems to me that Lib was a little slow in bringing a fish last year. He is not like Lord Baltimore, who brings 5 fish before chick is completely out:)

O'Joy. Contragulation to Liberty and Belle its parents and the
Eaglet_Momster group that watches ever egg laid and hatch since 2006.
Doesn't mean they will respect chicks name. At least it is there ( :

This morning, we spotted our first osprey on the Osprey Cam platform! He sat in the nest for a while, but we didn't get a good look at his chest coloring, although we think it was a male. Males usually return first from migration.

You know, I don't even think it's been normal for him to not show up in the AM by now. I'm getting worried. HOWEVER, Belle doesn't seem stressed. It's possible we missed a visit or even a switch and switch back in the wee hours or when the cam was paused.

Since chick hatched this am it had the nourishment from inside the shell. Liberty should be coming to see his chick soon and bring some food or give relief.
Well I think we chose to be respectful of them to give them the option of what those who named Lib and Belle have chosen. They from what I have read in here have respected that. Who knows and unless you bring the info inhere I will never know what they are calling these chicks over there.
Come on Lib we need to see you and Bring a fish. Mama needs a break and some food too.
Jenny, I don't remember....but I am finding it a bit disconcerting that he hasn't brough food. Belle has not eaten for a long time.

Wow. Been reading and watching still. Paddy is looking very strong and confident for only a few hours old.
I'm concerned too that we have not seen Lib and the B is probably off fishing or hunting. So many thoughts. Will keep watching and posting as I can from the office.
Paddy is just taking it all in. So precious.
