Prayers for your Granddaughter Wanda Hopefully the investigation will yield some PTSD counseling for her and then when she is ready, back behind the wheel of the ambulance. Prayers for all who lost this young man as well. Very tough situation for her to be in. That is of course part of the reality of this job.

Sorry Wanda, I'm sure they will get help for her.

Prayers for Jillian - such a rude awakening for her that life can be full of unexpected surprises and that there isn't any guarantees.
Prayers for Matt's family and those he leaves behind.

Thanks Paula and Glo, grandaughter is so precious to me and it hurts to see her hurting.

and for the families involved
this is tragic and difficult

Thanks to you, Donnie and Jo.
I didn't know that counseling would be available for her. Hope that is the case where she works.

Yes Wanda...would probably be called CISD - Critical Incident Stress Debriefing...
should surely be available, usually within short period of a call...
not sure what all the criteria are, but....her supervisors should know
(( Hugs ♥ ))

hedgie said...

And TOUCHDOWN!!!!!

glo said...

That was so cool. Never seen anything like it :-)

Beautiful as always, and SO SAD.....Discovery, on her 39th and final mission...she started the whole program. She will be on her way to the Smithsonian soon. Just want to go see her and wouldn't it be wonderful if I could touch her??? Not likely....but just being next to her will be a dream come true!

magpie said...

I grabbed a co-worker by the arm and made him watch the final approach and landing

absolutely breathtaking

Welcome home, job well done, Discovery !

hedgie said...

27 years she has flown!!! Amazing. 365 total days in space; 5 mill. miles+ this trip alone.

I know you all want another Eagle cam to watch :-) Its been on about a week now but wanted to be sure it was relatively stable before opening access to large numbers. So for those who have seen the photos of the 3 eaglets in their nest I took last spring, Here is their new webcam

You will choose the middle cam. Or youc an watch the pelicans come in on the first cam. Other one isn't operating just yet.

First egg is do to hatch on or about April 2.

Mema Jo said...

Thanks Glo for the new cam.

glo said...

Oh, Wanda..that is so terribly sad, and very shocking for Karla. Bless her!

Have walked now going to get ready to run errands in town. Then will spend the day working in the yard.

Have a great day! And, do not forget to VOTE for Mai.

Lolly said...

My mistake...it was Jillian, correct?

hedgie said...

Margy, Carolyn told me you had the site up! SHe is almost home---says it is sleeting on her side of the mountain.

Wanda, so sorry to hear about Jillian's experience. Always a difficult thing to go through. I am sure they will have counseling available. She will get through this, and I'm sure she will be forgiven her driving error. Prayers for her, the young man's family and all his friends.

I remember a nurse who was working at KD one night (she was Supv. who also did ER in the old days when it wasn't busy)....she was notified they were bringing in 3 killed in a wreck...........turned out to be her husband and twin sons. Can you imagine experiencing that?

glo said...

Oh my Hedgie can't hardly even fathom that. I think that would do me in for sure. Our helping profession folks do carry heavy loads at times BUT when it turns out to be someone they know or their own family they have a whole new plateful of trauma to deal with indeed.

glo said...

I like the old days when an Emergency was actually an emergency. Many rural communities have a longer trip to the emergency and some have to call in the Dr but when you walk or roll through that door you do receive immediate response to your emergency needs.

hedgie said...

Glo, I can't get the cam to open...just keep getting an Oops...page not available. But info is very intresting!

hedgie said...

Glo, ER's nowadays are used more like Dr. offices, and it just makes me angry. SO glad to not have to deal with it.
I was still a novice when my Dad was dying and I was helping care for him...he waas the first person I ever knew who died.
